Get off the fricking computer Venat. If you had the power to literally sunder every living being into endlessly suffering shades of themselves, you had the power to just fricking tell everyone exactly what was going on and that there was some fricking bird at the end of spacetime causing the end days, and maybe use all that knowledge and power to take the fricking fight to her instead of being an omnicidal maniac.
The Ancients were not able to withstand the despair Meteion accumulated. Neither would they be able to manipulate dynamis in any meaningful capacity.
Adding to that, who would've really believed that weirdo Venat, that for some reason didn't want to return to the star, when Emet-Selch, Fandaniel and Hythlodaeus all contradict her? Nothing would've changed.
Assuming this is your character, and not just one you saved from somewhere else. It is either a massive coincidence in how they look or I know who you are, because we're in the same free company. Small world if I'm right.
>Assuming this is your character, and not just one you saved from somewhere else. It is either a massive coincidence in how they look or I know who you are, because we're in the same free company. Small world if I'm right.
No it's some Avatargay from the /xivg/ thread with a heavily modded character. I just stole the image from that thread earlier yesterday.
Venat is a genocidal egomaniac and this guys comic is exactly how I felt during Endwalker. Frick Venat, she didn't suffer anything. She killed her people and sentenced them to short, painful lives lived in ignorance for the rest of eternity. "b-b-but there was not other way!" It wasn't her choice to make. The majority of the Ancients decided to give their lives to save the planet. No one was forced to die, everyone volunteered, this was their choice. Save the world or die trying.
Venat robbed them of that for her own selfish reasons. Just because things """""""worked out""""" in the end (they didn't, Emet even says he'd rather go back to being dead than live in this shitty modern world) that doesn't make what she did right. She's an evil, self centered c**t. Venat is the devil.
The ancients thought they were perfect, they would've used up the second chance they gave themselves with Zodiark to get back what they lost and it would've started all over again but they wouldn't have enough ether to hail mary a second time.
What those edgelords completely ignore is that, after zodairking Hydaelyn, there would've been no way to counter Meteion anymore, they'd just have to fly away with the moon. Which, to be honest, seems like it wouldn't be a permanent solution.
The arts not bad, its just extremely cringe fanfiction that I myself probably would've thought up if I had played Shadowbringers and Endwalker when I was a teenager.
Thank god I wasn't stupid enough to upload my cringe shit to the internet when I was that age.
because endwalker's plot wasn't very well thought out and the only people still actively seeking discussion of it are those who have strong opinions on that fact
Thinking of trying out the free sub. All my friends say tanking is the easiest role in the game. Is that true? I've never tanked before but it seems fun.
Tank frickups are the most visible but if you get the fundamentals of your role you'll be completely fine
t. Started as a warrior with no previous mmo experience
>see, this mount can seat 2 people. I'll fly you around a little bit then we can go check out my private house. Feel free to wrap your hands around my waist, just don't go too low haha.
Her plan and what the fujo came up with to support it was so fricking dumb. It was just a shitty written character. Not her fault, the writters just came up with stuff in the get go so that's why it feels so moronic.
This fricking meme keeps giving me second-hand embarrassment.
What the frick was he thinking?
This reminds me of that one kid in class who would screech at anyone who tried talking to him.
The Ancients were fricked the moment they refused to just deal with loss and despair and instead worshipped some deity to make everything okay for them. Even with Zodiark shielding the planet they probably would have killed themselves like that one world in the Dead Ends before Meteion had a chance anyway.
I don't think we really know how reincarnation of unsundered souls work, presumably in sundered bodies too. It will be interesting when all the zodiark sacrificed souls start popping up all over the place now they've been able to rejoin the lifestream
Nah mate, FFXIV-2 will take place in G'raha's failed timeline where ascians manage to rejoin the world and we eventually get reborn as the Azem we were, trying to pick up the pieces of our past lives to understand what the frick happened, all the while the world is in various states of fricked and Zodiark has become even more powerful and potentially dangerous and hungry for more aether.
This crazy motherfricker has been waiting since the days of the Ancients for his two best friends to die so they can all hang out together in the afterlife and be reborn.
I'm sure he was thinking '1 down 1 to go" when Emet finally showed up.
Why is Hythlodaeus unsundered, anyway? Zodiark was broken apart so shouldn't his constituent souls discorporate into unsundered?
Or did sundering Zodiark fragment his souls differently than the rest of the world, meaning a wash of unsundered reincarnations is about to occur, but spread out over every reflection?
I'm assuming that the souls in him are safe because he was like, physically sundered. So, like Elidibus, if the part they were in wasn't split, then they weren't split.
>Where does it ever show or say Hythlodeaus is unsundered?
The fact that he's Hythlodaeus and not a completely new lesser individual?
Anonymous
Because we revived him and Emet. That is why Emet isn't a new person either. The WoL pulled Hythlodeaus’s soul from the life stream and gave him a body. But by then the soul was already sundered. Pretty sure only Lahabrea, Elidibus and Emet are left as unsundered. Then Lahabrea could be sundered due to how he died and Elidibus might have gone all into the tower so Emet might be the only one left. It would make his next reincarnation more miserable so it checks out.

Anonymous
My guess is at least for the final sequence, his soul was fully released to the lifestream on Zodiark's death, so he was whole again when answering Azem's crystal. Though I can't say he's unsundered when you met him on the moon, it's possible that the metaphysics work differently for souls captured for Zodiark?
Anonymous
It could go either way honestly. I just figured they are all sundered because if that was all it took for them to free Zodiark and revive the souls inside the Ascians would have done that already. They had to wait since if Zodiark was sundered the souls inside were sundered. I could see the argument going either way though. It is probably best for the world in the long run if there aren't a bunch of complete souls with creation magic running around.

Lahabrea got converted into primal aether, his soul no longer exists. Elidibus consumed all of his own soul to power the spell to transfer you to Elpis. Venat's soul was also depleted completely, as was everyone else used to produce Hydaelyn.
Hades is the last unsundered soul, and it's not clear if he will fragment across the lifestream to reincarnate or if he will reincarnate with unreasonably dense aether. However, the Zodiark souls come out different. They appeared large and whole while wandering on the moon, and Hythlodaeus kept all his memories and his appearance like an unsundered individual should. His soul does not exhibit any of the flaws that sundering should have dealt upon him.

Weren't their souls see-through like ghosts on the moon? They weren't cut up like Zodiark though that is true.

Wasn't the sundering a one time thing that split everything? It isn't continously happening since the souls wouldn't be able to continue merging on the source and would keep getting split up. Like if Nidhogg is reborn he won't be born sundered again because he was never sundered.
That's because Hythlo fricking sucks at creation magic, he doesn't even have a second form.

Every Ancient had a transformation. Hythlodaeus probably just had a shitty one that couldn't even fly or something.
It would be like not having a computer in the modern day. Who wouldn't craft an ideal utility body for themselves?

He flat out tells you in Elpis he can't transform
And Hythlodaeus wouldn't craft an ideal utility body for himself, he already got the world most dilligent errand boy/girl and the most talented user of creation magic on his beck and call, while his job is literally just rubberstamping Ancients' waifu design.
Nobody lived a greater life than Hythlodaeus in the unsundered world.
first of all why did they give these nothings grek names? Why hermes?
Secondly, they write 4 what shit audience hungers 4: Commune life.
Thirdly, wat does SAD FAKE HERMES do when he is sad, unsatisfied, hungry?
Instead of start a war, which is excellent decision, and root of all hueman progression -- he outsources war to OVER-POWERED FORCE OF SADNESS. So now destruction is impersonal, and is caused by every person all at once [communal once again].
But this is so foolish becuz it is untrue in all senses.
One man causes war, wipes out a million, a billion, and there is no evil. Destruction is a force that keeps life clean, just as creation does. This is the balance of things, forest fires etc.
Hence the story as was is very bad.
that's a good question. wouldn't all the other shards die off though? and if they all go back to the same source, then why the difference in soul density?
>and if they all go back to the same source
They don't, Hydaleyn specifies she had to personally bring Minfillia (and Emet-Selch) over from the First to the Source post-death.
soul fragments aren't magnetically linked to each other. also they'd all be dying and living at different intervals. you'd have to physically bump into the other one to join them back together
Her name in japanese is Veneth, the same as the FFXII Occuria. Venus wouldn't make sense. That's a roman god, not greek. Amaurot is grecian styled. FFXII changed Veneth to Venat because it sounded better with the british accents they were using.
>Venus
Venat isn't big tiddy mommy superfemale, she's based on ffxii. The while Greek Pantheon is inspired by Hades. Yeah, the meme dark summon existed way before emet fujo. FFXIV was Hades's Breakout game, eat shit Bahamut and Alexander.

None of them are comfortable with it, but Scions recognize it is not their place to decide her fate.
I see nothing wrong with Hermes and his thinking, its only fair that the Ancients be judged whether they are worth keeping alive just as they did to all the other lesser creations.
Did they ever explain how she had the power to sunder the world? Is it the sword? I started zoning out near the end of Elpis after I realized goth twitter bird was going to be the big bad.
>Did they ever explain how she had the power to sunder the world?
It was mentioned in Shadowbringers. It's literally just Hydaelyn's power as a light aspected primal. Her nature is to reduce, to force stability and equalization. Dividing into many is simply her ultimate expression of this power.
Presumably, you can also assume that Hydaelyn was made this way because the WoL told Venat Hydaelyn has this power, but that's a bit of a bootstrap paradox.
Basically beings created via creation magic have whatever powers, abilities, or knowledge the creator wills them to have, even if the creator does not posesss them himself.
There's a quest in 6.1 MSQ where you read a book that posits the nature of primals and it asks the very question of from wence would a primal who was made to be omnescient derive their knowledge from if their creator was not omnescient and the primal did not actually get that knowledge from anywhere on it's own, just born into existence with that knowledge somehow.
Alexander was created with the ability to manipulate time, so he could time travel.
Hydaelyn was created with the ability to "enervate" as said by Venat herself, which gave her the ability to split anyone and anything, straight down to reality itself.
Creation magic in this game is kinda moronic if you really think about it. The mere implications of it all its absurd.
>writer clearly sends the "moral relativism" message many times throughout the game >westerncucks with capeshit morals tries to understand morals in the game
Venat is disliked but for the wrong reason
Yeah bruh, just doom your world and everyone in it to die. That's totally your call to make. What right does she have to judge the Ancients as unworthy but their sundered mortal selves are?
The people who "worship" Emet-Selch also are the same type of people who slurped up the ShB post patch-turned-expansion that is EW, they made out the best out of anyone because they got to see epic rememberman again and clap.
People with brains understood that everything Emet says in EW is puppetry from forced nonsense. There is no Emet in EW, just a talking head
I would seriously like to see the people who claim "Venat comitted genocide" and that the writers were "trying to justify genocide" with Endwalker actually say this to the Fujo's face herself. Like if there was a live panel where you could directly speak to the devs live like Blizzcon would any of these homosexuals actually dare to ask tell Fujo or Yoshi to their faces that they were trying to justify genocide.
They absolutely would and it'd be the next redshirt moment, but the people who actually form the intelligent arguments aren't the kind of fanboys that go to the moronic conventions in the first place
>would any of these homosexuals actually dare to ask tell Fujo or Yoshi to their faces that they were trying to justify genocide.
The writers admit that Venat wasn't right in her decision. The new Omega story quest bascially confirms that none of the Ancients made the morally correct choice.
>Shit on your final good story to make a quick buck and unceremoniously end the game >Can't take the backlash and then shit on your hackjob to save face
The only ones who didn't make the morally correct choice were the writers; very kino and meta
Omega is built different and as an observative AI is intrinsically adept at figuring out the problems with shit that doesn't personally affect it. It's Omega's strongest suit, and kind of the best way to utilize the sometimes hot girl sometimes cool robot
>hag >mom figure with "my dear son" issues >said "son" rejects her moronic high risk plan >said plan only worked because WoL stepped in and required the combined effort of the ancients defeated by WoL
No wonder Azem decided to go his own way. Her only decent argument is that Ancients needed to acknowledge their troubles and move on so they could prepare for the possible future problems, and simply ignoring them doesn't mean nothing would happen
>Frick Emet's coping bullshit. >It's coping because....because it just IS okay?!
Emet is the least morally wrong out of everyone because at least he correct in that sundered half-men weren't anywhere near the same as an Ancient in terms of existence.
No moron, it's coping because he's making up bullshit to excuse himself for the things he does because he believes the ends justify the means. If animals were capable of speech, complex intelligent thought, and expressing their emotions on the same level as humanity then we wouldn't callously kill them either (at least not without being a complete fricking psychopath). Emet lies to himself and says that modern people don't count as people because they don't live as long or are as powerful; as his people were, which is completely arbitrary horseshit.
not him but between those that willingly sacrificed themselves for a "greater good" and moronic mortals, I'd take the first. Her plan was an asspull that somehow worked because the writers required it but it's far more believable that she was crazy when she presented her plan
How is Emet not coping? His whole rant about how he found mankind to be lesser and that we don't deserve to continue their homosexual legacy is not based on anything logical, and he knows this. His test of '' um you need to keep this much light in you so I will consider teaming up with u 🙂 '' test was completely arbitrary, just another way for Emet to cope that the sundered were lesser and that killing them is not a big deal.
But Emet probably knew WoL couldn't maintain that amount of light anyway.

The mirror test itself was draconian to begin with, and was just a way to paperwork the ethical dilemma that comes from mutilating other complex animals for societal gains. People understand these things in the same vein that they understand those in power are corrupt and do not have their best interests in mind, but are complicit anyhow. They pass legislation which justifies their enacting of will upon these lessers, no different than they have on animals in order to conduct testing.

Yeah, its his copout for not introducing a dating system. Oh well, in my canon WoL and Y'shtola have a relationship, fricking like animals and trying to keep it as a poorly kept secret from the other Scions.

She cares a whole lot about you, but she didn't grow up in a environment where people show feelings open. XIV and modern WoW genuinely do not feel like MMO's to me, the entire sense of community feels like it's been forcibly ripped out of whatever husk has been left behind in their wakes. Both games embrace a ToS that makes people bitter and clammed up because people are too afraid to just say what bothers them (and I'm not saying "Black person Black person Black person") resulting in communities that constantly walk on eggshells to avoid someone taking shit the wrong way and getting punishment for it.
Perhaps the issue more lies with me being unable to change to the climate that's being encouraged by these ToS changes, or maybe it's because I've been around groups who would be considered "edgy" by todays standards and I feel as if it's a massive shackle compared to the old days. Who knows.
I don't even fully understand why I'm writing this, but I'd hazard a guess it's because I feel lonely, since the people I would play games with eventually grew apart or abandoned me while I just sit around and ask myself why it happened, failing to realize my shortcomings. All the while failing to find new groups in a genre that would otherwise be perfect for such a search.
Thanks for reading my blogpost, I'll go try to experience an extreme trial now.
Azem got sundered and, based on the recent Nier crossover story, lived out the rest of his/her days as as a amnesiac moron with no memories of anything pre-sundering and probably became a caveman and just Ugged and Grugged for the rest of his/her days with the rest of the newly sundered.
>lived out the rest of his/her days as as a amnesiac moron with no memories of anything pre-sundering and probably became a caveman and just Ugged and Grugged for the rest of his/her days with the rest of the newly sundered.
Azem's first fragment became the original Warrior of Light. Did you miss that somehow
That was never even remotely implied.Go back and rewatch that scene. The OG WOL from the First was just some dude who became a hero, whom Elidibus body-jacked and started the entire Warrior of Light meme on the First.
We don't know what time period that guy even came from. Could've been thousands of years post-sundering when civilization actually already developed on the First. The Nier crossover confirms the sundered ancients were sent back to the stone age, and it took them ages to evolve back to a civilized state again.
>That was never even remotely implied.Go back and rewatch that scene. The OG WOL from the First was just some dude who became a hero, whom Elidibus body-jacked and started the entire Warrior of Light meme on the First.
Fricking moron. Elidibus worships Azem as his chief hero. So of course the "sundered though you were" individual was Azem's fragment.
>Fricking moron. Elidibus worships Azem as his chief hero. So of course the "sundered though you were" individual was Azem's fragment.
Anon.....it literally shows Elidibus taking over the hero's body. He rushes up behind him, shown from Elidibus's POV, and possesses him. Did you also skip the cutscene where you're shown a book on the history of the WOL legend that literally shows the OG warrior of light and you and the scions muse that Elidibus himself started the entire legend, and the scene you yourself showed literally confirmed that theory?

>Who would Elidibus recognize as a hero and a friend even while sundered, you ridiculous fellow?
The dude was just some hero, much like Ardbert, and did some noble shit before there were even Warriors of Light. The entire scene effectively confirms Elidibus stole his body (because he was already someone with a reputation for being a hero) and used his identity to start the etnrie Warrior of Light meme on the First.
Much like her stole Ardbert's body and did the exact same thing.

His companions, also just ordinary heros like himself, weren't. Being a hero is not exclusive to the Azem and his reincarnations/reflections, dumbass. You're problem is you immediately assumed the mysterious hero dude was a reflection of Azem just becaus he was a hero. When fricking tons of heros exists across both the first, the thirteenth pre-void rape, and the Source and presumable every other reflection. The dude could have ltierally been anyone. You failed to grasp the entire point of the scene which was that he was a hero Elidibu stole the body of and used his identity as an already famed and repsected hero on the first to give credence the entire Warrior of Light meme he would go on to start.
That was the exact same thing he did with Ardbert, and the exact reason he chose Ardbert to bodyjack, because Ardbert was a hero already known and respected (the WOL and co already convinced people that Ardbert and co were tricked into causing the flood in post ShB and so they regained their previously good reputation) and used Ardbert's identity to lend credence to his words of people being "chosen" to be Warriors of Light.

It was about what happened to the world immediately following the sundering, ESL, where it established the sundered ancients were still alive, but reduced to small, deformed, mentally moronic creatures that couldn't even speak and had no memories of anything before the sundering. I was referring to Azem, not the WOL, as was already established in the cutscenes you skipped that Azem was sundered, which logically follows as the WOL is the reincarnation of Azem and WOL is sundered like almost literally every other character.

How can he skip cutscenes that aren't actually in the game?
If the devs had wanted that shit to be seen as canon they wouldn't have tacked it on to a shitty mobile game.
Hesperos wasn't an ancient anymore though, he was a whole ass monster, or a creation with an ancient soul imbedded into it. That's what a hemitheos is, no?
I really hope they get rid of the Azem crystal. I don't want 7.0 to be humble adventure in a new world but lol he uses magic to summon Eorzeans to help him
The Azem summoning spell is only used to bring your seven trial buddies into inconvenient locations. You have never used it to bring other people anywhere significant, else you'd've let Ryne visit the Source by now.
They've obviously wanted an excuse for the WoL to canonically have 7 people with them in any scenario for a long time. Stormblood even had Lyse joke about the WoL's adventurer friends "being on vacation around here" at one point.
I really hope they get rid of the Azem crystal. I don't want 7.0 to be humble adventure in a new world but lol he uses magic to summon Eorzeans to help him
we have the scions+new characters for dungeons and we might have voidsent or something if that recent interview thing isn't being horribly mistranslated
Having a magic crystal that can summon 7 allies or other WoLs or whatever at any time makes EVERY SINGLE scene where WoL is confronted by enemies and flees, surrenders, captured, etc stupid. They now can't write a story where WoL is threatened.
Why?
Why does everything need to be how dangerous our foes are to us?
You have overcome the combined despair of the universe. Even when Fandaniel was out being a b***h, he got as far as he did by threatening everyone EXCEPT you. Try writing a full on book where the protagonist is an invincible, all-powerful hero who simply never makes it in time to stop anyone from being harmed. You can get away with it once or even twice if it's really clever, but if that's the only way left to generate tension and conflict, that itself now becomes not only predictable, but tiresome.

"Getting away with it" is a pretty strong phrase, but that's also not explicitly true since Goku does eventually do the cool thing. Is that all we have to look forward to from now on? WoL being a moron until the end of the MSQ where he suddenly solves everything inst-oh...oh god.
I think what's interesting here is that XIV really has hit the DBZ wall if we're able to make these correlations so easily.

Fricking five-star post I sensibly chuckled and immeasurably concede
Is that really so different from the plot mandating that someone who literally gets called "God-Killer" has to get fricked up by an old fu manchu with a dragon familiar?
They couldn't write a story where WoL was threatened in fricking EW after he became the legendary Super Seiyan in ShB. EW was the Majin Buu of XIV, and they sidestepped WoL's ability to solo everything on Hydaelyn by forcing the world to end so none of the conflicts were up for grabs. There is literally nowhere for the story to go without some unspeakable Capcom syndrome, and they fricking know it.
>There is literally nowhere for the story to go
There is an entire world, not to mention the shards, for the WoL to explore now that the threat of doom and gloom is no longer looming over them.
There's still gonna be times where instead of a trial or raid, WoL eats shit in a cutscene or instance. Chill the frick out, my dude. The Azem crystal is literally only for the cool cutscene element to explain WoL summoning people for trials and raids.
You are just proving why it is stupid. He can use the dumb crystal any time. Atleast before it was just assumed WoL used a Linkshell to call up some friends to meet him at the trial or whatever. He couldn't make adventurers appear at any moment.
If WoL is drowning, why not just summon someone to help him? Can't even do that shit.
>if WoL is drowning
hahaha look at this speed reader and laugh fellow shonenchads. Guess someone missed the chapter where WoL ate the froggy demon fruit!

Which is why YoshiP mentioned they were planning to end it early(but they couldnt afford it), not for the "typical jrpg tale" thing though, but because they wanted to fully move on from the consequences of 1.x plotwise, remember that this arc started because of it.
EW being the way it is does seem like an asspull, and I think the "typical jrpg tale" thing confirms it, as even for a typical jrpg tale its rather weak

Personally, I'm glad they're going with the WoL basically taking everything in stride at this stage. Why not? You would too probably if you were in the same boat.
It really depends. So far they have been good about it, but if they become kill happy again and we lose one of the inner circle Scions it'd be incredibly weird for the WoL to just keep going, considering what the crew just went through.
Why didn't they just make a bird filled with all their hopes and send it off to kill the evil bird and as long as they are alive, it empowers the hope bird?
Ascian society had stagnated, their hope wasn't strong enough for that kind of shit, they completely fell apart at the first sign of actual hardship. Venafs entire scheme was essentially a hopium farming operation to basically do exactly that minus the second bird part.
To be fair their actual hardship is the entire world being destroyed. They had a Plan and came up with a solution to it as well. Venat just couldn't explain to them why they should choose to suffer when they saw no reason to.

Omicrons are still alive. After Meteion's final song of hope, Stigma-1 (the real one, not Meteion's dynamis replica) spontaneously reactivated and issued the final command to live, so their perpetual standby is over.
Of course, they still have no purpose, and "live" is a very vague order to follow.
There's also whatever species sent out that cheerful message in pangalactic basic that Omega translated for us.
>Omicrons are still alive. After Meteion's final song of hope, Stigma-1 (the real one, not Meteion's dynamis replica) spontaneously reactivated and issued the final command to live, so their perpetual standby is over.
No, do the new Omega quests. Omega himself says (implied that this is what YOU told him and he was just repeating it) that Meteion "unleashed dynamis" onto the Omicrons and wiped them out. They're gone. Omega is the last Omicron (yes he was apparently a person at one point, got turned into a robot like every other of his kind, and was eventually put into a 4-legged super-powerful body).
>Omega is the last Omicron (yes he was apparently a person at one point, got turned into a robot like every other of his kind, and was eventually put into a 4-legged super-powerful body).

I'd imagine they looked like their robot bodies. Then again Omega has human-like faces on his back so maybe they were human-like.
No u. Do the Stigma Dreamscape. Stigma-1 reactivated on a "dead world" and issued one single enigmatic command ("Live"), and accidentally reactivated Stigma-4.
So, if literally no others are alive, Stigma-4 is out there. And seeking peaceful relations, after you actually do the Dreamscape and change his mind from thoughts of war.
>No u. Do the Stigma Dreamscape. Stigma-1 reactivated on a "dead world" and issued one single enigmatic command ("Live"), and accidentally reactivated Stigma-4.
Yeah he issued the command but to nobody because all the omicrons are dead thanks to the e-girl birds. Instead, the fake-omicrons in Ultimate Thule picked up the signal and, because they think they're actually real Omicrons and not just shades, unironically believed the signal was for them.

>Yeah he issued the command but to nobody
Stigma-4 is not one of the Dynamis copies, it was an actual honest to god Omicron command terminal. It was spinning up to churn out a planet-destroying armada. That's the entire reason you do the dungeon.
They will absolutely dangle the "WoL carries on the Ancient's legacy but in good guy ways and every expansion is a new shard" carrot over people like you for a whole decade to come, it seems
There is nowhere to go because we will follow the homosexual cat to uninteresting places instead of exploring the mysterious lands already mentioned in lore
Have fun with even more garleans but now vs homosexual cat tribe in 7.0
There's literally 2 continents left to explore. One is basically Fallout, the other we know jack shit about other than that Blue Mages come from there and they have "golden cities".
What iI'd like them to do is explore other reflections as Emet said "some of the civilizations in the reflections may surprise you"" and we find some of them are outright modern, or super futuristic, since they had no calamities and weren't rejoined so nothing has stopped their technological progres.
>There's literally 2 continents left to explore. One is basically Fallout, the other we know jack shit about other than that Blue Mages come from there and they have "golden cities".
It's also very rich in ceruleum. FFVII-inspired plotline of Neo-Garlemald maybe?
You guys ready to find out that the reason the 13th shard was a failure wasn't because they flooded it with darkness but because they had removed a large portion of it's population and moved them to the source, in a naive attempt at sparing lives. The failure of the 13th is what made them realize they have to commit genocide to do their rejoinings, not just elemental balance is needed with the source but also soul balance. When rejoining a world the people of that world have to die with it, or else the rejoining is a failure.
This is the origin story of the Garleans, btw. They are 13th refugees. Their third eye is genetic white auricite, in a sense. Permeant reminders of the ascians mercy and failure.
>This is the origin story of the Garleans, btw. They are 13th refugees.
I wouldn't put it past them to do huge sweeping retcons after Endwalker, but that doesn't really gel with what Emet-Selch said about making them.
No, Garleans are the descendants of Ancient refugees. Azem was able to use the time tunnel we made because he has the same soul as us. He took a bunch of good boy ancients to the future with him to save them from the final days. Once they got there, they willingly severed themselves from their magic and became mortal, in order to ensure that Metion could never use it against them again. He achieved a combination of the Zodiark and Hydaelyn plan, he saved his brothers from the final days and from being sundered. They resided in a floating city, possibly built in the ruins of Elpis. This became the Clockwork City of Gough. In time they passed away and their childrens childrens children.... descended to the world below and became Garleans. This is why Garleans have no magic, have stronger bodies(because they are unsundered) and look the most like actual ancients(elezan body with hyur head).
Only Azem wasn't saved by his own plan, he had to let himself go back and be sundered so that the time loop would be made and he could save his fellow man. A noble sacrifice and the only one that outlasted endwalkers plot.
>Omicrons are gonna be the next Beast Tribe >Even thouigh they're not actually Omicrons, just shades made by Meteion out of her memories of them, the real Omicrons are already all dead thanks to her.
Why should I care about them exactly? Why the frick do they even still exist after beating Meteion? Shouldn't they all have vanished since they're just shades? Why are they still around?
Ok but they're not the actual Omicrons, they're fricking fake Omicrons that just think they're real Omicrons. They're soulless shades created out of memory. I literally do not care about them at all. Where could they possibly take this story?
>Ok but they're not the actual Ancients, they're fricking fake Ancients that got tempered by Zodiark and think they're real Ancients. They're soulless shades created out of memories. I literally do not care about them at all. Where could they possibly take this story?
R-remember that we lived...bro?
>they're fricking fake Omicrons that just think they're real Omicrons. They're soulless shades created out of memory.
So? Their memories are real. >I literally do not care about them at all.
Then don't do the beast tribe. Nobody gives a frick how you spend your time playing the game. >Where could they possibly take this story?
Same place that take all Beast Tribe quests. Short stories where we learn about a race of people and some dumb character has some development.
Hopefully Endwalker gives us a proper quest for doing all of them unlike Shadowbringers.
I wonder if it's even possible to add in a new starting point for players on an expansion so they don't have to commit the ~100 hours of storyline to get to do side contents of a new expansion? I guess they can do an expanded Shadowbringers treatment on a whole new shard on 7.0 and make a full 1-90 leveling experience fully contained standalone story there for new players who doesn't want to do the MSQ?
As much as I enjoy the story for FFXIV, the MSQ tax is a bit steep for new players, especially if they want to do content with their friends that's already current.
>I wonder if it's even possible to add in a new starting point for players on an expansion so they don't have to commit the ~100 hours of storyline to get to do side contents of a new expansion?
That would be horrible. The one thing that XIV does well is referencing its older plotpoints. The most moronic thing they could do is just do tabula rasa and start something completely new with no relation to the 10 years of game before.
I just remembered how FFXI had no actual commitment into fully following expansion storyline to go to new expansion storyline, how you only need to do rank 5 base game to unlock Zilart, Promathia and Aht Urghan, not sure what the unlock for Wings was, and didn't play Adoulin.
So yeah, maybe they can just use the Hydaelin Zodiark saga as the cutoff point for the continuing storyline, and just make it so next few expansions doesn't have continuing storyline so new players doesn't have to commit +20 hours of MSQ for each expansion they haven't done going forward.
I'll never forget that jarring whiplash going from CoP to Aht Urgan. >Holy shit, what a story. >Come see me in the far-east soon, Anon... >I will, Tenzen. >ALLAHU ACKBAR >what the frick no oh god get me out of this hell hole >HERE IS A HASTE TURBAN, INSHALLAH >...I will continue to enjoy Final Fantasy XI
>Oh, that's the NPC where you can buy *new items* >What do you mean those Black folk got captured? >It's 3 am in the morning, and I can't sleep because there is 2 back to back besieged and my city need me >Ok guys, I know the drop is absolutely shit, but I'm gonna need 10 of you frickers to commit the next 3 hours of your life to go into Mamook, murder everything in there, and rescue everyone and get Astral Candesence back. >Did I say 3? I really mean 5 >Yeah, 5 was optimistic, it's gonna be 8
It'll never happen, SE needs to sell those story skips. Yoshit pee will keep on inflating the playtime required to get to the real game so that new players are basically forced to buy their way to the level cap
of course, homosexual
watching 100 hours of non-dubbed cutscenes with weird-looking characters always doing the same two animations isn't engaging, nor is the story per se unless you're still in elementary school >muh existential questions
no, read some philosophy books instead
>no more story on FFXIV
good fricking riddance, use that time to release more high-end raids
no one gives a frick about the story after >we literally become the god of giga gods and kill the bird goddess of the end of the universe (worst final boss in the franchise right after Necron)
The thing I don't get about the Omicrons: Sir says to us that they "converted their minds into data" and became completely mechanical beings. But in a universe where souls exist, why the frick would you do this when you can just transfer your soul into an artifical body? As has been shown to be doable in the game in the past.
The implication is the Omicrons lost their souls in the process of roboticizing themselves and basically became literal robots. They could've just put their souls into mechanical bodies and not lost themselvse in the process. Were they moronic?
We don't really know how souls work on other planets the entire concept is based on the understanding of how our planet operates. Also the implication that the Omicrons never truly removed their souls they just got suppressed.
Apparently Etheirys' originally occupants just naturally lacked the magic powers that would've helped them not commit mass die, so maybe the bio-omicrons naturally lacked the magic powers to do things in ways other than typing on computers.
It's established Eithyrs was unusually rich in Aetherm hence the level of magic and how powerful the ancients were. It's shown that there were worlds that didn't seem to have magic at all. The Not-earth planet that nuked themselves were clearly a world that relied purely on technology and seemed to have no magic at all. The abandoned world at the final part of Ultima Thule Meteion said she found lifeless with the implication everyone just poofed out of existence spontaneously one day was visibly modern.
Since with know souls are made out of aether, it's possible some of these low-aether planets probably didn't have enough aether for lifeforms to even have souls. It's shown already that beings can have no soul yet still be conscious and intelligent. So yeah there were probably entire worlds where nobody has a soul because the aether of the planet is too thin to produce them hence why Omicrons just converted their minds rather than transfer their souls.
Is Endwalker the ultimate fricking casual filter for philosophical and more nebulous concepts like the great filter/fermi's paradox? I have never seen people have this much trouble understanding the concepts being presented by the story.
Meteion's despair sponge only manages to push 2 of the civilizations off the edge (the Plenty who had lost their reasons to live but were had yet to realize it until Meteion asked her question, and the unknown race managed by a godlike being who flipped his shit when Meteion tried to talk to him), the rest all failed in their own ways without any significant assistance from her at all.
I mean that doesn't really discount the idea since it was basically stated that a lot of planets either were already on the path towards self-destruction, that's why she came to the conclusion that death was the ultimate meaning of the universe.
great filter doesn't really count when the civilization in question had already reached the apex of power to a degree that they basically willed themselves out of existence for lack of anything left to do. Venat providing a distraction from the question but giving no answer really doesn't help that angle, either. XIV's entire lore now amounts to "all of the cool shit already happened, you're just living in the scraps"
Cosmologically the ancients were probably a drop in the bucket, we don't really know what's out there.
>Cosmologically the ancients were probably a drop in the bucket, we don't really know what's out there.
1. the Ancients were on a path that ended in self destruction too. Do you think it's a coincidence that the Plenty is a race of people in identical robes and masks, who created a godlike being to grant their dearest wish? After the ancients finished their mission and perfected Etheirys, the end would inevitably come. And on that day they will beg for Zodiark to kill them all.
2. We know what's out there because Midgardsormr searched countless worlds before finding Etheirys. All were dead or doomed.
>1. the Ancients were on a path that ended in self destruction too. Do you think it's a coincidence that the Plenty is a race of people in identical robes and masks, who created a godlike being to grant their dearest wish?
I legit picked up on this the first time I did Dead Ends. I'm shocked by the sheer amount of people who were too dense to immediately get what they were trying to imply with the Plenty.
>2. We know what's out there because Midgardsormr searched countless worlds before finding Etheirys. All were dead or doomed.
Actually if you remember one of the dragon shades in Ultima Thule you talk to, he says that other dragon's survived and fled to other worlds like Midgardsormr did. Worlds with civilizations intact and they would be met with the same conflict as Midgardsormr and his brood did on Eithyrs.
How the frick that dragon knew this despite being a shade of one of the dragons who remained on the Dragonstar is another story.
Vrtra said that Midgard told him that Etheirys was the final bastion tho, so at the very least between Dragonstar and Etheirys there is just fricking dead worlds
>1. the Ancients were on a path that ended in self destruction too. Do you think it's a coincidence that the Plenty is a race of people in identical robes and masks, who created a godlike being to grant their dearest wish?

I hate literally everything in Ill Mheg (except Seto). Maybe one day you'll grow up and see not everyone likes the same thing.
I see Dead ends as a multiple case scenario, with none of them with any connection to the Ancients but rather making reference to the one before. First one dies to illness, second one fixes diseases but falls to global war, last one fixes global war but falls to nihilism.
I like how people just try to complicate simple things just showing how desperate they are to give proof to their headcanon, its just a way and surface level way to tell you that problems will arise no matter what and just escaping from one doesn't mean you are safe from the next.

Choosing to accept the distraction by embracing suffering and pain where it would not be necessary is not a solution, no matter how much they're smiling at the end of the story.
Such a statement hits harder than any other thing in this thread. Much like the Ancients, we can never go back, only seethe at what we've lost and quietly cry to ourselves as the ones who remember slowly die off

Remember us, remember that we once grind in Valkurm Dunes...
I have a hard time believe there wasn't at least one Alien dude on the Plenty who actually was pretty chill and content with utopia and didn't want to an hero.
Anon, Hermes didn't even give her a stomach despite giving her a mouth. She can't eat, one of the most fundamental experiences of living creatures. Do you seriously think an autist like him was going to give her a dicky?
>Meteion visited Earth >the one individual she encountered dropped all his spaghetti trying to woo the real anime wife >he can't make coherent noises >writes off the entire civilization as mindless coomer drones
you hate to love to see it
Earth does not physically exist in XIV's universe. The Seed of Destruction came from another universe, not space. That's why it could touch down on the First. Things coming down from space don't interact with the shard worlds, they touch down on the Source.
I wish the endgame of this game was more than just memorizing a list of mechanics for a particular phase of a particular boss fight. Sorry, I don't want to read a guide every time that I enter a boss fight. It's fricking moronic I just want to play the game
I hate Venat because she's in a shit expansion that goes out of its way to come up with asspull reasons to get out of the dumb direction it decides to go in once it hits Elpis to justify any of it happening.
>The "weakest" of the FF4 fiends will appear first.
>Regarding the new trial, he confirms it is a part of the MSQ this time, helped by the fact Savage is releasing 1 week later this time. He says it will not be revealed until the day of the patch who the trial will be against, and whether it will be part of a series. He says the trial is a bit more difficult than usual, even on Normal.
Gee Yoshi I do wonder what the trial is
>group content >hard
The only content I find with actual difficulty is the one that solely relies on you. Most group content has artificial artificial difficulty like relying on moronic party members doing their job
- Island Sanctuary doesn't have a storyline attached to it, other than some simple quests leading the player to the island.
- The weather will change on the island, but it will not snow, since it is located in an area of the world where it doesn't snow.
- Mostly Island Sanctuary will not connect to the rest of the game's systems eg being able to get tokens to exchange for items outside the island, but when you "explore to the limit" you will find some elements that connect to the outside world.
- He implies some elements of the island's development will be on a weekly timer, namely cultivating crops.
- I think this may have already been confirmed in the last LL, but for further confirmation: Housing items cannot be used on the island. The island is not intended as a replacement for housing, instead its about developing an uninhabited island.
- There will be rewards such as mounts for making progress with developing the island. The interviewer asks if mounts can also freeroam on the island, Yoshida says first of all he wants people to enjoy the free roaming minions, but doesn't rule out the possibility of mounts.
- You can queue up for Duty Finder while on the island (the interviewer jokes this gives people another excuse never to leave.)
>- I think this may have already been confirmed in the last LL, but for further confirmation: Housing items cannot be used on the island. The island is not intended as a replacement for housing, instead its about developing an uninhabited island. >Literally not-instanced housing
Literally who asked for this fricking shit? Everyone was asking for instanced housing and they give us this instead. WHO ASKED FOR THIS?
Why didn't she just tell the convocation the truth about the future and then create a new race of people with low aether but higher potential for dynamis instead of just sundering the world for exact same reason but with genocide added?
- On the relic weapon, for the past two expansions these have been tied to the large-scale content of Bozja and Eureka, but this has both its good and bad sides. This time, since the team are working on a lot of other content for the expansion, it was decided to return to the ARR and HW model of relic weapons. In discussions with both the scenario and battle team, it was decided it would be a lot of fun to make Manderville Weapons related to Hildy. "Look forward to what happens when Godbert and Gerolt stand side by side". There will be a simple progression to the 6.25 quest, and he hopes people can play it casually, like with Anima weapons.
Bozja bros....... No more fun seeing people die to CEs, people yell about directions and people cucked out of duels. Back to the shitty dungeon spam grind.......
They probably could. I feel like the biggest weakness of the EW story is that given how Echo is an ability that all Ancients has, there was no reason why Venat couldn't just have the convocation use it on her and throw Hermes under the bus once Zodiark is summoned, but I guess she would rather gamble it on the WoL solving the issues 12k years into the future than have the Ancients come up with something then.
>has 12,000 years to tell you truth >has 12,000 years to even tell the villains the truth >does absolutely nothing, just punishes Garleans >literally allows endless death and destruction to happen for many millenia across different schisms >claims she's weakening throughout whole plot >ends up fighting you >can't think of anything to do except become fuel for the spaceship >Azem's power to recall souls was confirmed literally your original ability when you were whole, she just allows you to remember it
She caused more damage and death than Meteion in the long run.
>She caused more damage and death than Meteion in the long run.
literally only 14 planets of suffering for a duration of 12000 years does not come close to Meteion's trillions of dead worlds for the exact same duration
Don't forget G'raha's timeline where she's just sitting on her ass doing nothing now that WoL is dead. So the Ascians will complete all the rejoinings then Meteion will just come to finish them off.
Apparently there's some bullshit side story crap somewhere that people there managed to rebuild or something. Who cares? I can't stand that "but in the spin off written by someone else in issue 322 said this" type shit. Leave that to comic books.
Did you not read the last entry on the Shadowbringers side story? Midgardsormr revived and likely become the guardian of the survivors to at least restart civilization.
World ending calamity isn't exactly a new thing in the Source, it happened at civilization ending scale multiple times before.

Don't fricking come into lore argument when all you have is your ESL reading skill and headcanon then. Those side stories are canon companion materials.
Honestly, I think the biggest issue with Venat is her relying so much on a coinflip of a plan, a plan that involved an investment of thousands of years with little margin for error. Few supported her for good reason, no one in their sane mind would have gone to such extent for something that wasn't even clear to be a success, specially at that price, only mommygays would trust such plan.
Like yeah sure, ancients were ignorant but even with the knowledge solutions proved too risky
I miss when she was just a senile, motherly talking crystal that male roegadyn flew around tripping balls at and occasionally gave us the power to blow up mildly amusing, overacting guys with funny masks and cloaks
Reminder that Zodiarkgays quite literally are unable to understand the plot despite it being laid out right in front of you in the game itself.
I can't even tell what they are so butthurt about. That the Ancient Evil is just a battery powered wall? That it is actually good either? Why do they suck this thing off so much?
It really is vindicating to see a sample size of the people who vehemently defended EW for the last 9 months finally get reduced to this level of awful

Make Venat an incel and I bet even then the alledged incels you speak of would have disliked her. Give up, Venat is a weak character, the only decent writing involving her is how nobody but a few trusted her moronic plan which just work against her
>If you don't support my egomaniac villain you are a zodiarkgay
zodiark was the equivalent of punching the tv, venat actually knew what the problem was and did nothing to fix it
>moronic milf plan had most ancients not trusting her because her plan was a high cost gamble >even her closest peer didn't trust her >nooo actual mad guy is big baddie from shadowbaby expansion
the utter state of venatcucks
Why the frick do these lazy ascians take more that 12000 years to get these rejoining done? The first was ready to go in like 100+ years. 100x13=1300. Even if it took 5 times as long to set everything up, we are still way over schedule. These guys need to stop napping.
>ahh shard down for meantinence >please understand >we deeply apologize for the inconvenience
Imagine all the ancient souls in Zodiark living in an eternal server upgrade, waiting for the game to come back up, while all the GMs and devs are fricking around without telling them anything. No wonder Elidibus quit customer service
Almost all rejoining in the source is civilization ending affair. It takes thousands of years for them to rebuild and have the condition of the source be ready for another rejoining, else you double tap the source and there wouldn't be anything left to rebuild it, not to mention having to prep the shard to the correct elemental alignment.
Not to mention, the Ascian started off as Ancients who lived an idyllic life in the unsundered world, for them to turn into Machiavellian villain engineering death of millions must have taken toll on their mind.
>hades snaps Elpis flowers around Ultima Thule. They are white, which proves there is hope there, so we can call the scions back because Metion can't hurt us with despair anymore. >For some reason we couldn't just do this on the source, release zodiark and live happily ever after in Elpis fields.
>Nah bro these 300000 dead civilizations aren't like the unsundered. They had the literal perfect civilization that would never have met a bad end ever!
We need to speed up expansion production. The farther we get from the ascian homosexualry of EW the better.

Thank god this thread is about to end so I don't have to deal with you guys anymore. See you in 30 minutes.
Thanks for tanking most of that, I don't have the energy to even humor that level of circular logic at this late of a time in the night. Was a pleasure posting with everyone
>a handful of sad anon making the same thread and argument day in and day out?
It's this. Don't pretend this isn't common practice here about many games. Some guy here is obsessed with posting vidya butts every days for god knows how long.
This. I'm still have a lot of questions I'm worried will never be answered because they wanted to go fast and we will never revisit this shit again, like Ala Mhigo
If sundered people are so great, why do they fall for ascians tricks everytime? The sundered are like naive children, even the supposed wise leaders fall victim to the most ridiculous ascians plots. It's actually hilarious how stupid sundered are.

No it's some Avatargay from the /xivg/ thread with a heavily modded character. I just stole the image from that thread earlier yesterday.
I actually would be fine with a zodiark/Hydaelyn trance in 7.0 for SMN

I refuse to read this homosexualry because it'll just poison my feelings on the game.
What those edgelords completely ignore is that, after zodairking Hydaelyn, there would've been no way to counter Meteion anymore, they'd just have to fly away with the moon. Which, to be honest, seems like it wouldn't be a permanent solution.

A blessing honestly
The arts not bad, its just extremely cringe fanfiction that I myself probably would've thought up if I had played Shadowbringers and Endwalker when I was a teenager.
Thank god I wasn't stupid enough to upload my cringe shit to the internet when I was that age.
Final Sting yourself, Hydacuck
14 players are not people
ok, but theres like a million players
neither are you barry
why are xiv threads so fricking bad now
Because shadowbringers was the wowtard xpac
lull before a patch, so not much to talk/shitpost about
because endwalker's plot wasn't very well thought out and the only people still actively seeking discussion of it are those who have strong opinions on that fact
Thinking of trying out the free sub. All my friends say tanking is the easiest role in the game. Is that true? I've never tanked before but it seems fun.
Why do you act like a newbie?
Tank frickups are the most visible but if you get the fundamentals of your role you'll be completely fine

Gave birth to Elidibus or Zenos. I haven't figured out which yet, but it's one of them.
She did everything wrong.
Her plan and what the fujo came up with to support it was so fricking dumb. It was just a shitty written character. Not her fault, the writters just came up with stuff in the get go so that's why it feels so moronic.

just an ESL Hispanic who watched way too much anime as a kid and completely misunderstood the entire expansion
>Zodiark trannies are still seething to this day
😀
The Ancients were fricked the moment they refused to just deal with loss and despair and instead worshipped some deity to make everything okay for them. Even with Zodiark shielding the planet they probably would have killed themselves like that one world in the Dead Ends before Meteion had a chance anyway.
nothing wrong with god narrative, but they made the gods into homosexuals, this is why ff14 story drove itself off a cliff
Ascians arent real gods
Emet and Hythlo will reincarnate eventually and you'll be an old geezer when you next meet them. That is some shit.
Won't they be reborn with memories of meeting the WoL in Elpis like Fandaniel
I don't think we really know how reincarnation of unsundered souls work, presumably in sundered bodies too. It will be interesting when all the zodiark sacrificed souls start popping up all over the place now they've been able to rejoin the lifestream
They'll be wol and suzaku's kids. Kid emet will have Head wings.
Hades' next incarnation will be the protagonist of FFXIV-2
He will still accept every quest but be tsundere about it instead of nodding.
Nah mate, FFXIV-2 will take place in G'raha's failed timeline where ascians manage to rejoin the world and we eventually get reborn as the Azem we were, trying to pick up the pieces of our past lives to understand what the frick happened, all the while the world is in various states of fricked and Zodiark has become even more powerful and potentially dangerous and hungry for more aether.
>growing old and becoming a geezer
Stop wasting our time and return to the star already, my new old friend.
Aren't they waiting for you so you can all reincarnate together?
This crazy motherfricker has been waiting since the days of the Ancients for his two best friends to die so they can all hang out together in the afterlife and be reborn.
I'm sure he was thinking '1 down 1 to go" when Emet finally showed up.
Why is Hythlodaeus unsundered, anyway? Zodiark was broken apart so shouldn't his constituent souls discorporate into unsundered?
Or did sundering Zodiark fragment his souls differently than the rest of the world, meaning a wash of unsundered reincarnations is about to occur, but spread out over every reflection?
Frick, I meant discorporate into sundered individuals, you know what I mean.
Maybe only the living can be sundered and since they were already dead that meant they couldn't be sundered?
Hythlodaeus existed solely to make fun of everyone else, thus as long as there are beings to mock ceaselessly, he cannot be broken.
>Remember...that we would CFH on Tiamat and make Fafnir flail on people we hated using bark spiders and Darters
I'm assuming that the souls in him are safe because he was like, physically sundered. So, like Elidibus, if the part they were in wasn't split, then they weren't split.
Where does it ever show or say Hythlodeaus is unsundered? I thought he was. We don't see him do any creation magic, it was all Emet.
>Where does it ever show or say Hythlodeaus is unsundered?
The fact that he's Hythlodaeus and not a completely new lesser individual?
Because we revived him and Emet. That is why Emet isn't a new person either. The WoL pulled Hythlodeaus’s soul from the life stream and gave him a body. But by then the soul was already sundered. Pretty sure only Lahabrea, Elidibus and Emet are left as unsundered. Then Lahabrea could be sundered due to how he died and Elidibus might have gone all into the tower so Emet might be the only one left. It would make his next reincarnation more miserable so it checks out.
My guess is at least for the final sequence, his soul was fully released to the lifestream on Zodiark's death, so he was whole again when answering Azem's crystal. Though I can't say he's unsundered when you met him on the moon, it's possible that the metaphysics work differently for souls captured for Zodiark?
>It would be like not having a computer in the modern day.
Most people don't have computers. They have phones and ipads.

Hades doesn't deserve to be bullied like this.
how did Hades get back to the aetherial sea anyway, he was disintegrated on the first.
Hydaelan/Venat brought him there. He's the plus one that she mentioned when she talked about bringing Minfillia's soul back to the Source.
Why wouldn't all the sundered shards link back up to the same atherial sea where Hydaelyn is?
that's a good question. wouldn't all the other shards die off though? and if they all go back to the same source, then why the difference in soul density?
>and if they all go back to the same source
They don't, Hydaleyn specifies she had to personally bring Minfillia (and Emet-Selch) over from the First to the Source post-death.
soul fragments aren't magnetically linked to each other. also they'd all be dying and living at different intervals. you'd have to physically bump into the other one to join them back together
white auracite was a plot point for a reason
So... Living Dead is now the best "I don't die" move now?

Well done, Koji. Another win for the English localization.
She has the same name as a FFXII character, blame that game's localization team for changing the name there.
It comes from Venari
Her name in japanese is Veneth, the same as the FFXII Occuria. Venus wouldn't make sense. That's a roman god, not greek. Amaurot is grecian styled. FFXII changed Veneth to Venat because it sounded better with the british accents they were using.
Shut the FRICK up, you ignorant moron. You don't know what you're talking about.
>You don't know what you're talking about.
Then I fit right in here !

>Venat
>Meteion
You know exactly why people hate Venat and only pretending to think she did nothing wrong to bait people. Stop being a homosexual and making this shitty bait thread where you are called out for being a dumb speedreader every single day.
She did nothing wrong, I don't care about the rest of the Ancients they were all homosexuals.
>Yotsu did nothing wrong, I don't care about the rest of Doma they were all homosexuals
Well, they did turn her into a rape slave and nobody even batted an eye. Domans are kinda fricked up.
And Ul'dah is a beacon of sainthood
Lominsa is hard-working, honest folk living simple lives
Gridania is full of philanthropic, kindly healers
Once you start pointing out atrocities in a given country as grounds for genocide, you have to start making excuses for all the other terrible people. People who are the fault of Venat.
unironically yes
the only halfway decent character in that entire expansion that didn't have horns bolted to their head
Yotsu is a better villain and character than Emet. Her motives are understandable but still wrong and the game doesn't pretend otherwise.
>Her motives are understandable but still wrong and the game doesn't pretend otherwise.
you mean the exact word for word response you give to emet talking about the rejoinings
I missed the part where WoL acts like Yotsu is his friend. If Yotsu was a pretty boy, he probably would for the fujoshits.
>I missed the part where WoL acts like Yotsu is his friend
before she gets her memories back and decides she isn't worth anyone's affection they're fine with her granted that situation doesn't last long
None of them are comfortable with it, but Scions recognize it is not their place to decide her fate.
>Yotsu is a better villain and character than Emet
Oh yeah? Then why couldn't we fix her? Checkmate
Because Emet didnt need any fix, he was a good character and far more believable. What? Only morons would trust Venat and it shows
I see nothing wrong with Hermes and his thinking, its only fair that the Ancients be judged whether they are worth keeping alive just as they did to all the other lesser creations.
Did they ever explain how she had the power to sunder the world? Is it the sword? I started zoning out near the end of Elpis after I realized goth twitter bird was going to be the big bad.
The cutscene was a metaphor, hydelyns sole purpose is to sunder
Hydaelyn Kick sundered the world, that's why that's her ultimate attack in her Trial.
no. the details are still shrouded in mystery and 'the walk' was metaphorical
we likely won't ever see it. or they're saving it for Hydaelyn and Zodiark ultimate
The mere implications of it all its absurd.
>writer clearly sends the "moral relativism" message many times throughout the game
>westerncucks with capeshit morals tries to understand morals in the game
Venat is disliked but for the wrong reason
>She did nothing wrong.
Yeah bruh, just doom your world and everyone in it to die. That's totally your call to make. What right does she have to judge the Ancients as unworthy but their sundered mortal selves are?
You'd think with how much people worship Emet-Selch him saying they would have never made it that far would mean something.
Guarantee they fricking wouldn't.
They absolutely would and it'd be the next redshirt moment, but the people who actually form the intelligent arguments aren't the kind of fanboys that go to the moronic conventions in the first place
can it really be called "genocide" when all she did was sunder the people into smaller multiple versions, like technically they aren't dead.
I really wanna frick this bird. She's coming back right?
>would any of these homosexuals actually dare to ask tell Fujo or Yoshi to their faces that they were trying to justify genocide.
The writers admit that Venat wasn't right in her decision. The new Omega story quest bascially confirms that none of the Ancients made the morally correct choice.
>Shit on your final good story to make a quick buck and unceremoniously end the game
>Can't take the backlash and then shit on your hackjob to save face
The only ones who didn't make the morally correct choice were the writers; very kino and meta
>a fricking robot who forgot what being alive is understood mortals better than the moron milf
Omega is built different and as an observative AI is intrinsically adept at figuring out the problems with shit that doesn't personally affect it. It's Omega's strongest suit, and kind of the best way to utilize the sometimes hot girl sometimes cool robot
Apparently it doesn't count if you're chopping up their souls into small pieces instead of just killing them
>hag
>mom figure with "my dear son" issues
>said "son" rejects her moronic high risk plan
>said plan only worked because WoL stepped in and required the combined effort of the ancients defeated by WoL
No wonder Azem decided to go his own way. Her only decent argument is that Ancients needed to acknowledge their troubles and move on so they could prepare for the possible future problems, and simply ignoring them doesn't mean nothing would happen
A more important question is, where is the porn of Venat?
She just wanted to give humans their freedom and you killed her.
She wanted us to do so though. For if we could not, we would not be able to fight Meteion
>They didn't get it
kek
>her plan just works because it does
lmao, I wouldn't have sided with her even if it magically did because it didnt make any sense to begin with
>freedom to suffer in a different way that what the ancients were going through
kek
>all the people crying about Hydaelyn committing genocide also defend the Ascians who committed multiple genocides
???????????????????????????
They were planning an endless loop of genocide to Zodiark to begin with before the sundering anyway
No they weren't moron.
SKIPPER
Those sundered souls aren't equal to an Ancient. Or are you going to tell me killing a person and stepping on an ant is the same?
Sundered people are clearly sentient. It's not the same thing at all.
>but form Emte's perspective
Frick Emet's coping bullshit.
>Frick Emet's coping bullshit.
>It's coping because....because it just IS okay?!
Emet is the least morally wrong out of everyone because at least he correct in that sundered half-men weren't anywhere near the same as an Ancient in terms of existence.
they think and feel the same, he even married and loved them when he wasn't busy genociding them.
If the ant possesses complex emotions and a sense of self then yeah I would have to spend a lot of time reconsidering how I feel about the issue.
recent xamples of cat passing mirror test [self-consciousness test created so that animool testing could be morally justified].
plant studies showing rxn to emotion.
Recent sound studiez.
dude what
mirror test 4 consciousness was one of biggest determinants that it was morally justified 2 experiment on animals.
Cats have recently displayed that they pass this test in home environments (recognizing themselves on screen).
Other studies can be located if u wish, and source of mirror test is also ezily findable

because the plot requires you to follow hydaelyn's brilliant keikaku of courage being the magic that turns dreams into reality to work
wow Venat, thanks for becoming a mass murderer for our sake
I promise I won't let your fricking genocide go to waste
Sadly we didn't get that, but at least we were able to trashtalk her because she was one of "them" and hydaelyn was just another primal
frick that, I want an option to tell that gay catboy to leave me the hell alone and stop fanboying over me
I liked how we could imply that he is a nuisance in the 24man story.
>no option to give Emet the finger when escaping Hermes memory wipe
why?
We also did not praise her. Did no one else notice that? It is stated as matter of fact and we are allowed to make up our own opinion, but after that we do have to deal with the consequences and there is no point beating up a 10000 old horse as she is disappearing from existence by going "nazis bad" at her. Either accept her by using her true name or use her omnipotent godhood. That is all the story needed at that point.

{old records even speak of it clear}
But the question is nothing after all ~
The mirror test itself was draconian to begin with, and was just a way to paperwork the ethical dilemma that comes from mutilating other complex animals for societal gains. People understand these things in the same vein that they understand those in power are corrupt and do not have their best interests in mind, but are complicit anyhow. They pass legislation which justifies their enacting of will upon these lessers, no different than they have on animals in order to conduct testing.
yes iz true, but i dunno why others who poast on related story "beats" dont look at story as it occurs in reality ... O_O

it's a power fantasy, in your universe your wol probably slept with all of them
Volcel is the strongest power in FFXIV, look at Zenos. The power of the two of you never getting any pussy destroyed the amalgamation of the hopelessness and despair of myriad worlds.
Didn't the Fujo state a few times you can headcanon fricking some of the characters, like Lyse? I know I headcanon going balls deep in this blue lizard b***h.
She has multiple orgasms' during our fight
biggest cop out ever
Didn't the fujo work for ero stuff in the past? Not surprised if thats the case, she probably has headcannons of her own that she couldn't include
Not eroge, but she did work on Fate/Extra CCC which was very sexually charged.
I thought it was Yoshi-P that said that. That basically you create your own canon for your WoL.
Yeah, its his copout for not introducing a dating system. Oh well, in my canon WoL and Y'shtola have a relationship, fricking like animals and trying to keep it as a poorly kept secret from the other Scions.
>trying to keep it as a poorly kept secret from the other Scions.
Thancred knows. And he watches.
It sounds cringe as frick but I like to imagien he was my wingman to hook my WoL with her.
Y'shtola usually comes off as the Scion who cares about the WoL the least.
she behaves like a cat at her best
>only scion to not go along with the "Lets fill the WoL with light" plot in ShB
>when you talk to the Night's Blessed after you collapse they will tell you they have never seen Y'shtola so frantic and fearful before
>only scion to check on you during the EW 'pick your scion' event, genuinely worried over your health
She cares a whole lot about you, but she didn't grow up in a environment where people show feelings open. Frick me, if you do the Matoya quests you will learn that her memories of Y'shtola are her most precious possessions, and she will literally take them with her to the grave via a broom she told them to.
My WoL frick's Krile senseless every night and she she thinks no one knows but can't figure out why Alisae fumes and glares at her constantly
My WoL is about to destroy the world in his quest to find a way to bring back the dead to add to his ever-growing harem.
Bro, Stormblood? All of those nights spent together with Lyse?
Would take M'naago instead to be quite frank
>All of those nights spent together with Lyse?
My WoL spent all his nights fishing.

So basically
>waah i can't bully people
>waah i'm a lonely incel
>waah let me bully people
Is this right?
Emet sacrificed half his people for this

how good is the money, really
so did azem get murdered by venat to make sure wol was created?
Pretty sure Azem was thinking "i get to experience a new world and everything else for the first time again? sign me the frick up!"
14 times the adventure
Azem got sundered and, based on the recent Nier crossover story, lived out the rest of his/her days as as a amnesiac moron with no memories of anything pre-sundering and probably became a caveman and just Ugged and Grugged for the rest of his/her days with the rest of the newly sundered.
What neir crossover story?
>lived out the rest of his/her days as as a amnesiac moron with no memories of anything pre-sundering and probably became a caveman and just Ugged and Grugged for the rest of his/her days with the rest of the newly sundered.
God damn, you're moronic.
That doesn't matter at all, what matters is who Elidibus chose. Who would Elidibus recognize as a hero and a friend even while sundered, you ridiculous fellow?
>Who would Elidibus recognize as a hero and a friend even while sundered, you ridiculous fellow?
The dude was just some hero, much like Ardbert, and did some noble shit before there were even Warriors of Light. The entire scene effectively confirms Elidibus stole his body (because he was already someone with a reputation for being a hero) and used his identity to start the etnrie Warrior of Light meme on the First.
Much like her stole Ardbert's body and did the exact same thing.
The whole every WoL is Azem thing is dumb headcanon anyway. Ysayle was one of Hydaelyn's chosen. Ardbert's companions were considered Warriors of Light.
>The dude was just some hero, much like Ardbert
Motherfricker Ardbert was an Azem fragment, how fricking stupid can you be?
>Motherfricker Ardbert was an Azem fragment, how fricking stupid can you be?
Holy frick
Ascian dick suckers are mentally ill. This is what shadowbringers created.
We got it the first few times you posted it. Is it really necessary to make the same post again and again and again and again?
I wish I could suck some Ascian dick. It's not fair, bro
>You're problem is you immediately assumed the mysterious hero dude was a reflection of Azem just becaus he was a hero
No, I assume he's a reflection of Azem because ELIDIBUS RECOGNIZED AND DEIFIED HIM IN A WAY THAT WE KNOW ELIDIBUS DEIFIES AZEM.
IMBECILE.
>all caps
HE'S GOING ZODIARK TRANCE MODE
Bro.
The very same scene
Shows him taking over the guy's body by force, the dude even turns his head around at the last moment as he notices Elidibus coming up after him but too late.
It parallels what he did with Ardbert in post ShB.
Holy shit anon this isn't that complicated.
Anonymous. What does this have to do with the price of tea in china. Why are you bringing up IRRELEVANT NONSENSE that does not indicate the character is not an Azem fragment?
Why is being possessed by Elidibus imply they are not an Azem fragment? Why are you TALKING ABOUT IT?
Please, shut the frick up, or say something that addresses what I am telling you.
>The Nier crossover confirms
If they want to make it canon it should be in the game. Not a shitty mobile game that no one plays.
>Nier crossover confirms
Shut the frick up, that shit barely aligns with any canon of the XIV setting. Worst fricking raid series, worst story integration (i.e. non-existent)
>Shut the frick up, that shit barely aligns with any canon of the XIV setting. Worst fricking raid serie
Anon......
As much as I agree with you on Nier being garbage, its still canon
>Recent nier crossover story
Are you talking About the weekly quests after the alliance raid or something else? Can I get a Tldr of it?
nothing in the nier story had anything to do with the wol I don't know what they're making shit up about
>nothing in the nier story had anything to do with the wol I don't know what they're making shit up about
It was about what happened to the world immediately following the sundering, ESL, where it established the sundered ancients were still alive, but reduced to small, deformed, mentally moronic creatures that couldn't even speak and had no memories of anything before the sundering. I was referring to Azem, not the WOL, as was already established in the cutscenes you skipped that Azem was sundered, which logically follows as the WOL is the reincarnation of Azem and WOL is sundered like almost literally every other character.
Learn to read english and stop skipping cutscenes.
literally nothing in the nier storyline had anything at all to do with ancients, sundering, or anything at all related to the story in the slightest
this is a relatively complex thing to make up though, maybe you had a dream after some bad sushi
HOLY SHIT ANON there was ANOTHER CROSSOVER JUST RECENTLY WITH NIER REINCARNATION. This is not the same as the fricking raids from Shadowbringers
Pic fricking related. Shut the frick up.
>crossover in the mobile game nobody plays means it's canon in the MMO
lmao.
>It's not canon because I said so even tho it was written by the Fujo herself.
Let me know when it comes up in the MMO or in one of the official short stories for the MMO chief.
>and stop skipping cutscenes
How can he skip cutscenes that aren't actually in the game?
If the devs had wanted that shit to be seen as canon they wouldn't have tacked it on to a shitty mobile game.
He means the crossover event with that Nier mobile game.
Why does Lahabrea have his own little gay outfit? I thought ancients were supposed to look down on individuality when it comes to appearance and such.
Why does he have glowing eyebrows?
hesperos was in a full vampire costume
Hesperos wasn't an ancient anymore though, he was a whole ass monster, or a creation with an ancient soul imbedded into it. That's what a hemitheos is, no?
well, he did turn into a monster yes but he was still an ancient and eric recognizes him as such

one of the only in stormblood
I really hope they get rid of the Azem crystal. I don't want 7.0 to be humble adventure in a new world but lol he uses magic to summon Eorzeans to help him
The Azem summoning spell is only used to bring your seven trial buddies into inconvenient locations. You have never used it to bring other people anywhere significant, else you'd've let Ryne visit the Source by now.
>tfw a land of chocolate Hawaiian potatoes exists
It was on Emet's checklist too
They've obviously wanted an excuse for the WoL to canonically have 7 people with them in any scenario for a long time. Stormblood even had Lyse joke about the WoL's adventurer friends "being on vacation around here" at one point.
we have the scions+new characters for dungeons and we might have voidsent or something if that recent interview thing isn't being horribly mistranslated
Having a magic crystal that can summon 7 allies or other WoLs or whatever at any time makes EVERY SINGLE scene where WoL is confronted by enemies and flees, surrenders, captured, etc stupid. They now can't write a story where WoL is threatened.
We don't NEED stories where WoL is threatened.
Sounds like a shit story to me
Why?
Why does everything need to be how dangerous our foes are to us?
You have overcome the combined despair of the universe. Even when Fandaniel was out being a b***h, he got as far as he did by threatening everyone EXCEPT you. You weren't afraid of Lunar Bahamut at all, but he could've gone and razed Ala Mhigo before you could do a single thing to stop him, and so Fannydanny got to do whatever he wanted.
>You have overcome the combined despair of the universe.
So? This was more about strength of will than strength of arms.
>Try writing a full on book where the protagonist is an invincible, all-powerful hero who simply never makes it in time to stop anyone from being harmed
You just described Goku and Toriyama is still getting away with that shit.
Toriyama "got away with it" by reverting Goku into a moron that needs to relearn basic shit that Master Roshi taught him in Dragon Ball.
>DBZ and Superman
this is what you want the story to be like? lol just proving my point
Buddy it's a Final Fantasy, we're not exactly angling for legendary writing quality.
I'm not really advocating anythimg here, the only thing I'm saying is that it's possible to write good stories without constant shonenshit power scaling.
Isn't that basically every Superman story every that doesn't involve some cosmic level bullshit? Seems like you can write plenty of good stories with a near invincible protag.
This man has never read an isekai, a comic book, or a shounen manga.
>XIV fully devolving into bargain bin shonenshit is a gotcha moment to this anon
Unironic bruh moment, consider your course of action
>devolving
My good friend, you need to reassess where we stand right this very moment.
EW was just a prelude to the shit you are advocating. There will be no improvement, only drivel
Prelude? You mean continuation.
"endwalker" and "prelude" aren't the same song, you frickign idiot
Yes, that sure did work out well for HxH
Guess someone missed the chapter where WoL ate the froggy demon fruit!
lol I forgot about that.
It was just an example. But hey I see I am talking to people who don't care about how stupid and contrived the writing is.
I mean yes, you're mostly arguing with the same people who defend Endwalker and call people who appreciated ShB's efforts to do something interesting "ascian dicksuckers". They can't be lead to water to save their lives.
Zodiark Trance mode activated.
Don't see how your butthurt at someone's opinion is relevant here.
You haven't even seen .025% of my Zorbing power, confused child
he is right though, whatever ShB tried to build got blasted into oblivion by Endwalker. I get it that they needed to close the Arc which is something they wanted to do for ages but EW felt like an asspull
>whatever ShB tried to build got blasted into oblivion by Endwalker.
>whatever
Go on then and tell use what is was trying to build. It was just a typical jrpg fantasy tale that finally started answering questions about the "main" storyline that was always going to end.
Nothing you posted answered my question. You are not even making sense. Just ranting that EW killed your dog.
I answered your question, I just didn't say what you wanted to hear. EW was for the lack of better words the excuse they needed to bring an end to the current arc, and its visible. TL;dr, EW's plot is full of shit asspulls appropriate to a needed yet rushed closure
>I answered your question,
No, you didn't. You claimed Shadowbringers was building something and Endwalker ruined it. What was it? Tell me.
>I don't like EW
I don't care.
>ShB builds up ancient lore
>EW throws it out of the bin with asspulls one after the other
You clearly do care, you just don't like my answer and yes I don't like EW
>>EW throws it out of the bin
How? What asspull? You have not answered the question, just ranted against something you don't like.
You just can't handle that the ancient race of superior people weren't so superior. Don't know why this upsets you since it happens in basically every story with ancient race of people.

holy shit, if you think EW was even decent for your "average jrpg tale" then you clearly haven't played that many. And yes you are goddamn right am gonna rant about it, so just deal with it
Yeah yeah Zodiark Trance mode. God you people are pathetic.
>I want an answer
>receives answer
>goalpost because he can't answer
I accept your concession
It literally accomplishes the same shit. Plus, the WoL can get incapacitated and prevented from using any of his items just like he has before.
WoL can breathe undrewater
They can't write a story where the WoL is threatened because this is an MMO and they can't stop you from teleporting back to Limsa whenever you want
Except it makes perfect sense for WoL to rather die than go to Limsa. There be trannies there.
it's never going away, at best it continues to be used as a cheeky way to justify DF, at worst it gets le stolen and becomes a maguffin like Link searching for his fairy in Majora's Mask
>at worst it gets le stolen and becomes a maguffin like Link searching for his fairy in Majora's Mask
Oh god I can see this happening now. Frick.

Make me stop writing this, I don't like where we're going
Wouldn't Asahi make a better Jaken?
can't make asahi a potato for the scale difference and the jokes

Thank frick all evidence of that shit has been destroyed.
>tfw too moronic to make any fanfiction
There is only one person that has canonically been inside the WoL.
bro there's like, five or six people in us depending on who you want to count
not to mention ardbert
WoL confirmed for being a prostitute.
More like a confirmed schizophrenic.
The parts that were capable of self-restraint were sundered to the first as Ardbert.
Is the elf kid also a part of the DRK storyline? And who else is "in" us aside from those three and Ardbert?
Yeah they are and probably like 4 other shards of Azem, I forget how many calamities there were.
What did she do right though? The others could have fixed everything with zodiark and shit would have been fine. She makes a big fuss about suffering being necessary but it literally wasn't?
POST RYNE
Why don't we use the crystal tower again to time travel back one day further than when we went to Elpis and just fricking snipe Metion and Hermes? Literally on bullet to end 12000 years of suffering.
something something only delaying the inevitable, something something doomed to repeat mistakes
Because we can't change the past or something even though we clearly change the past (but that was different because hurrdurr bootstraps)
Because the world needs catgirls.
ZODIARK TRANCE!!!
>just left all those convocation stones on the floor in the Crystal Tower
What a blunder, there's no telling what sort of amazing bullshit could be lurking in those stones
They vanished with Elidibus for some reason.
This comic is the cringiest shit I have ever seen from the FFXIV community.
Bros what do your hotbars look like, I feel like I'm risking handcramps as bad as the time I played ki uprising. How do you feel about controller?
Controller is pretty comfy. Especially with plugins like XIVcombo

faciscm????
If you read between the lines, you realize the ancient society was super authoritarian

>I am okay with FF14 becoming Dragonball bad just to keep muh Azem
>becoming
Bad news chum.
Every japanese story is already DBZ
Personally, I'm glad they're going with the WoL basically taking everything in stride at this stage. Why not? You would too probably if you were in the same boat.
It really depends. So far they have been good about it, but if they become kill happy again and we lose one of the inner circle Scions it'd be incredibly weird for the WoL to just keep going, considering what the crew just went through.
Why didn't they just make a bird filled with all their hopes and send it off to kill the evil bird and as long as they are alive, it empowers the hope bird?
Why can't they just mind break Hermes and force him to constantly orgasm over and over again thus changing emo bird into a horny bird?
Ascian society had stagnated, their hope wasn't strong enough for that kind of shit, they completely fell apart at the first sign of actual hardship. Venafs entire scheme was essentially a hopium farming operation to basically do exactly that minus the second bird part.
To be fair their actual hardship is the entire world being destroyed. They had a Plan and came up with a solution to it as well. Venat just couldn't explain to them why they should choose to suffer when they saw no reason to.
>Emet literally tells (you) to go explore the world and unlocks its secrets
>OMG THERE IS NO WHERE FOR THIS STORY TO GO ITS FRICKING RUINNNEEEEDDDD!
What the frick secrets are there? We know the origins of the world and everything in the cosmos is dead? What mysteries and secrets are left when you know the beginning and end of creation?
What the FRICK is going in Meracydia.
>knowing the creation story.means nothing interest could happen or develop anywhere on the Source or the Shards
Christ you are a fricking rerard
What interesting thing can happen? I'm waiting homo.
Traveling to the different shards, roaming the different continents on the Source, finding out the truth about the Twelve.
>inb4 "hurrr none of that is interesting"
It's not my job to sit here and write the plot of the game homosexual, use your goddamn imagination, assuming you haven't completely fried your brain.
I can get the Mahjong Master title
>everything in the cosmos is dead
How do we know Omega wasn't a she?
Ever-Changing City
~RETCONIA~
if we're to assume M and F have traits indicative of what biological Omicron were like, then as a woman that's purely white she wouldn't have made the chocobo be a little wienerlet that isn't even tall enough to pin her against a fence
>if we're to assume M and F have traits indicative of what biological Omicron were like, then as a woman that's purely white she wouldn't have made the chocobo be a little wienerlet that isn't even tall enough to pin her against a fence
FFVII-inspired plotline of Neo-Garlemald maybe?
frick reflections, I want to go to New World.
I was genuinely pissed that the BLU quest makes it seem that exploration to the new world is easy enough that random injuns can pop up for a hello
Isn't the whole thing with Y'sholta basically them saying that they are about to make it so you and your friends can travel to different shards?
A noble sacrifice and the only one that outlasted endwalkers plot.
>people are mad their seinen story is staying a seinen story
Come the frick on now.
>Omicrons are gonna be the next Beast Tribe
>Even thouigh they're not actually Omicrons, just shades made by Meteion out of her memories of them, the real Omicrons are already all dead thanks to her.
Why should I care about them exactly? Why the frick do they even still exist after beating Meteion? Shouldn't they all have vanished since they're just shades? Why are they still around?
Hey buddy I got a wonderful thought experiment for you involving a ship and the concept of self identity.
It's not like Meteion died maybe she just forgot to undo whatever she did to make Ultima Thule the way it is.
Ultima Thule wasn't an illusion. Everything there is real and made by dynamis.
Damn you're moronic, I hate that I have to share a game with people like you.
>built exactly like the old Omicrons
>act like the old Omicrons
>think like the old Omicrons
>but they're not Omicrons because... they're not, okay!
>they're fricking fake Omicrons that just think they're real Omicrons.
Midgard is one of the shards. The WoL is going to go there and punch Sephiroth in the dick. Enjoy 7.0 everyone.
>7.0
my hands are moving on their own
I wonder if it's even possible to add in a new starting point for players on an expansion so they don't have to commit the ~100 hours of storyline to get to do side contents of a new expansion?
Why do you think they added that in game lore book, anon-chan?
Skip Potion. The existence of that completely invalidated the need of starting from a blank slate or offering alternative story paths.
>ALLAHU ACKBAR
>what the frick no oh god get me out of this hell hole
>HERE IS A HASTE TURBAN, INSHALLAH
>...I will continue to enjoy Final Fantasy XI
>Oh, that's the NPC where you can buy *new items*
>What do you mean those Black folk got captured?
>It's 3 am in the morning, and I can't sleep because there is 2 back to back besieged and my city need me
>Ok guys, I know the drop is absolutely shit, but I'm gonna need 10 of you frickers to commit the next 3 hours of your life to go into Mamook, murder everything in there, and rescue everyone and get Astral Candesence back.
>Did I say 3? I really mean 5
>Yeah, 5 was optimistic, it's gonna be 8
It'll never happen, SE needs to sell those story skips. Yoshit pee will keep on inflating the playtime required to get to the real game so that new players are basically forced to buy their way to the level cap
>the real game
I hope you're not talking about raiding, troony.
of course, homosexual
watching 100 hours of non-dubbed cutscenes with weird-looking characters always doing the same two animations isn't engaging, nor is the story per se unless you're still in elementary school
>muh existential questions
no, read some philosophy books instead
>the entire plot was just a harry potter tier time loop
literally couldnt think of a more disappointing conclusion
read a new book
Guys I just dropped a zodiark trance in the toilet.
>one of Omega experiments involve you going in a quest along with a robot with a personality of "Yes Man" from Fallout
Can I get an Omega experiment where it tries to take my WoL's genetic sample for preservation with Omega-F?
>no more story on FFXIV
good fricking riddance, use that time to release more high-end raids
no one gives a frick about the story after >we literally become the god of giga gods and kill the bird goddess of the end of the universe (worst final boss in the franchise right after Necron)
Ultima Thule Stigma-1 told the UT Omicrons to live. For all intents and purposes they are the Omicrons.
FFXIV doesn't get to end until I get my onsen episode.
I'm sure they digitized their souls into their robot bodies
I have never seen people have this much trouble understanding the concepts being presented by the story.
except the idea in question was fricked when it was revealed the fricking bird was influencing the other civilizations and making them all an hero.
Meteion appearing to the Global Citizens made the conflict worse, since they thought here arrival was divine proof that they were right
That's such a minor degree of escalation that you can rest assured that they were going to kill each other off one way or another.
Maybe they might've talked it out
But you're probably right anyway
I mean that doesn't really discount the idea since it was basically stated that a lot of planets either were already on the path towards self-destruction, that's why she came to the conclusion that death was the ultimate meaning of the universe.
>2.
I mean it is a big universe, did he really cover all of it?
Don't Dragons have a sort of hive mind thing going? The younger generations are beholden to their elder's songs.
Vrtra said that Midgard told him that Etheirys was the final bastion tho, so at the very least between Dragonstar and Etheirys there is just fricking dead worlds
>and fled to other worlds like Midgardsormr did
Except no other world is safe without a Zodiark barrier so they're all destroyed thanks to Meteion.
People who go through dead ends and come out thinking it was in any way, shape or form a commentary about the ascians as opposed to all life as a whole should have their accounts terminated.
Actually fricking delusional.
People don't think that. It's the Ascian fanboys who think their special snowflake race was different.
Buddy, if you cannot recognize allegory when it euthanizes you in the face then I'm afraid you slept through Elpis.
NOOOOOOOOOOO. MUH ASCIANS WERE PERFECT. THEY WEREN'T BIG BABIES WHO COULDN'T HANDLE LOSS.
Sundered cope. They didn't have to handle lose and they still did it better than the mortal races.
When they game tells and shows you the complete opposite of what you just said and you still say this. I don't know what's wrong with you.
No, it doesn't. In fact it says the exact opposite.
>and they still did it better than the mortal races
>Inbred mouthbreather missed the point completely even after yshtola walked ypu through what the game was trying to tell you milisecond after you completed that quest
To the suprise of no one
honestly my favorite y'shtola scene is when whomst'ved describes the night sky to her
I agree, it's one of those scenes that make me think how dipshits can dislike the middle part of SHB.
Magnimagic's existential minecart madness was pretty fricking bad though
>Filtered by trolleykino
You can go join the morons who missed the point of dead ends in Dumb b***h corner
Oh boy I will sweep myself over to the "doesn't like Taloskino" pile while I'm at it you cheeky frick
>disliking the part that has ryne's conversation with urianger and thancred kino
Filtered actually
that is like 1% of that entire fiasco
No, you soulless animal, it's the integral part of that entire questline and a constant ongoing theme, not just 1 percent.
Listen you can like Ryne getting characterization but you can't just slap tomorrow and tomorrow over a Donkey Kong Country level and expect me to tear up at the first sign of an echo
Actually, you can.
Its literally half of it
Magnus also killed it with his parts but no one is ready for this fact
i guess a lot of players is conditioned to expect constant spectacle from the media they consumed that they can't stand watching scenes that last over 3 min with nothing exploding.
I like how people just try to complicate simple things just showing how desperate they are to give proof to their headcanon, its just a way and surface level way to tell you that problems will arise no matter what and just escaping from one doesn't mean you are safe from the next.
great filter doesn't really count when the civilization in question had already reached the apex of power to a degree that they basically willed themselves out of existence for lack of anything left to do. Venat providing a distraction from the question but giving no answer really doesn't help that angle, either. XIV's entire lore now amounts to "all of the cool shit already happened, you're just living in the scraps"
>giving no answer
Yeah, you completely missed the point.
That was not an answer, that was merely embracing the distraction and the sorry state of things. It amounts to delusional behavior.
optimistic outlook, I admire your pluck but am saddened by your inevitable despair
To think I'd be wistful of such times. Najelith best girl, Mihli was a prostitute and always got charmed by the Nagas FITE ME
>It amounts to delusional behavior.
It's literally the exact opposite but I'm starting to think you're moronic so no wonder you think the way you do.
>You're wrong, and a moron!!! Heh...that'll show 'em.
Embarrassing, truly
No seriously, if you played all of Endwalker and still don't understand the point of it all, nothing I can say to you will help.
You're a genuine brainlet.
>You're so dumb I don't even NEED to talk to you, heh...
Go to sleep Garfield, adults are talking over here
>Thy Life is a riddle, to bear rapture and sorrow
>To listen, to suffer, to entrust unto tomorrow
>In one fleeting moment, from the Land doth life flow
>Yet in one fleeting moment, for anew it doth grow
>In the same fleeting moment thou must live, die and know
>Why is she telling me to be delusional? Reeeeeee!
good heavens did you really string me along that far just to actually really legitimately use the ANSWER song to correlate my usage of the word ANSWER
The "answer" was not an answer. It is a distraction from the question, just like how humans in real life use entertainment and stories to distract themselves from the horrors of everyday living and inevitable death. It is written in a positive light, but viewed as the sum of its parts, it is still as grim as it appears
Merciful heavens me, if you really think living life is just distracting yourself from your own mortality and the futility of existence, why are you still alive?
Are you yourself delusional or do you have some secret reason you're keeping to yourself?
If you're delusional by your own admission why should I listen to a single further word you say?
because distractions are fun
Put down that syringe of anime right this instant, young man - your impending crash will annihilate your very engenderment upon this star if you continue to seek such dangerous intoxicants. Choosing to accept the distraction by embracing suffering and pain where it would not be necessary is not a solution, no matter how much they're smiling at the end of the story.
FFXI was the worst fricking MMORPG I've ever spend my years on
I will always cherish those memories spent there
Such a statement hits harder than any other thing in this thread.
They all literally got annoyed to death by Meteion asking the meaning of life
99% sure that Ra La's original purpose is to kill Meteion, failing that, they made it kill them
Why didn't they just frick her into correction?
The entire plot could have been avoided if WoL fricked Meteion.
Hermes gave her stealth mode
unless she encounters a race that operates on dynamis
Anon, Hermes didn't even give her a stomach despite giving her a mouth. She can't eat, one of the most fundamental experiences of living creatures. Do you seriously think an autist like him was going to give her a dicky?
>Meteion visited Earth
>the one individual she encountered dropped all his spaghetti trying to woo the real anime wife
>he can't make coherent noises
>writes off the entire civilization as mindless coomer drones
you hate to love to see it
>Meteion visited Earth
I'm reminded that Earth canonically exists in FFXIV except its the Nier version of Earth where humans are already extinct.
Earth does not physically exist in XIV's universe. The Seed of Destruction came from another universe, not space. That's why it could touch down on the First. Things coming down from space don't interact with the shard worlds, they touch down on the Source.
There's a theory that the Plenty were a hive mind
I wish the endgame of this game was more than just memorizing a list of mechanics for a particular phase of a particular boss fight. Sorry, I don't want to read a guide every time that I enter a boss fight. It's fricking moronic I just want to play the game
I hate Venat because she's in a shit expansion that goes out of its way to come up with asspull reasons to get out of the dumb direction it decides to go in once it hits Elpis to justify any of it happening.
>zenos becomes a scion

What, two people who don't understand the game?

>in FFXIV
>group content
>hard
If this takes off, it can always be an evergreen content that they add into, so it's not like there wouldn't be room for improvement
This is ideal. Better if it becomes a thing they further expand on.
FarmerCHADS, we won
DISTURBING SEXUAL CONTENT OF VENAT AND THE WOL
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/468805-The-feeling-of-beeing-Home-...?p=6041685#post6041685
How is it disturbing?
The fact that people get so hard over Venat's bland appearance is a testament to how anti-waifu FFXIV is
it's because she calls you her little spark and most specialest boy
She appeals to people with a mommydom fetish.
I am convinced there are two kinds of people.
FF14 fans and Ascian fans. And the latter is mentally ill.
I'd rather die than become a lalafell
You do realize the morons asking for headcanon porn are pro-Venat right?
Venat isn't an Ascian. Ascian is not the name of their race.
Screencaps clearly shows they were talking about her
what happened to the alleged discord with the streamer erp that the troony "exposded"
>what happened to the alleged discord with the streamer erp that the troony "exposded"
QRD?
Why does Square Enix hate this job so much? Literally the only people putting effort into this shitshow of a class is the art department.
>They let mounts roam in your island
>Gonna feel inferior to people showing their stable of primal mounts
n-no....
I hope I can put same mount multiple times.
I will fill my island with nothing but Rathalos
couldn't they just sunder a couple Ancients and have them fight the bird?
Why can't morons understand that defeating Meteion was not about being physically/magically powerful?
They probably could. I feel like the biggest weakness of the EW story is that given how Echo is an ability that all Ancients has, there was no reason why Venat couldn't just have the convocation use it on her and throw Hermes under the bus once Zodiark is summoned, but I guess she would rather gamble it on the WoL solving the issues 12k years into the future than have the Ancients come up with something then.
>has 12,000 years to tell you truth
>has 12,000 years to even tell the villains the truth
>does absolutely nothing, just punishes Garleans
>literally allows endless death and destruction to happen for many millenia across different schisms
>claims she's weakening throughout whole plot
>ends up fighting you
>can't think of anything to do except become fuel for the spaceship
>Azem's power to recall souls was confirmed literally your original ability when you were whole, she just allows you to remember it
She caused more damage and death than Meteion in the long run.
All for the fear of her.
Dead WoL means the WoL doesn't kill Emet and Elidibus, keeping Fandaniel in check.
The rest of rejoining is at least another 10k years, plenty of time for another WoL to be reborn and challenge the Ascian again.
Born to what? The world got so fricked by Black Rose that they gave up on the timeline bro
I share the same sentiment as
Side content like that is worthless
Don't fricking come into lore argument when all you have is your ESL reading skill and headcanon then. Those side stories are canon companion materials.
Bro twelve thousand years is literally an infinitesimal speck of time.
There is still potential with the reflections
Imagine a shard that knows they are sundered and wants to reverse it but with their shard as the source
I for one would like to go to the 13th or whichever one is flooded with darkness.
Maybe one day
Reminder that Zodiarkgays quite literally are unable to understand the plot despite it being laid out right in front of you in the game itself.
I'm convinced zodiarkgays started the game with Shadowbringers.
I can't even tell what they are so butthurt about. That the Ancient Evil is just a battery powered wall? That it is actually good either? Why do they suck this thing off so much?
>I can't even tell what they are so butthurt about.
They are incels.
that's the most reddit thing I've heard today, venat being male wouldn't have made her shitty plan any better
>that's the most reddit thing I've heard today
that's the most reddit thing I've heard today
It really is vindicating to see a sample size of the people who vehemently defended EW for the last 9 months finally get reduced to this level of awful
I think it is funny that even reddit mocks you Zodiark fanboys this much.
No one is fanboyim zodiark
>Reddit
Of course, they are capeshit central which is why they are peak Venat fans
So is Ganker m8.
>few highly vocal spergs in Ganker means otherwise
I see it the same way I see Kaitencucks, a highly vocal minority
Those aren't a minority though
You are the highly vocal minority sperg here m8. Just like that redditor who drew the comic.
>no you
lmao, you and what army
>muh comic
take your meds
Make Venat an incel and I bet even then the alledged incels you speak of would have disliked her. Give up, Venat is a weak character, the only decent writing involving her is how nobody but a few trusted her moronic plan which just work against her
>If you don't support my egomaniac villain you are a zodiarkgay
zodiark was the equivalent of punching the tv, venat actually knew what the problem was and did nothing to fix it
>egomaniac villain
Emet?
>moronic milf plan had most ancients not trusting her because her plan was a high cost gamble
>even her closest peer didn't trust her
>nooo actual mad guy is big baddie from shadowbaby expansion
the utter state of venatcucks
>Venat is an egomaniac
Okay now I KNOW you started in Shadowbringers.
Whens this Ascian getting her powers back?
least modders could do is make large booba realistically sag and not look like a terrible boobajob
Ya got a problem with torpedo breasts?
They look better in moderate size, so it accentuates a large puffy areolae to breast ratio
>ratios
shut up nerd
She is the queen of soothing wanks
But Ardbert doesn't use she/her pronouns
Why the frick do these lazy ascians take more that 12000 years to get these rejoining done? The first was ready to go in like 100+ years. 100x13=1300. Even if it took 5 times as long to set everything up, we are still way over schedule. These guys need to stop napping.
Them fricking up the 13th made them pause and realize they can't just go fricking bananas with the rejoining shit.
>ahh shard down for meantinence
>please understand
>we deeply apologize for the inconvenience
>Hydaelyn Trance!
Oh-nononono do Venat-gays really? Lol cringe. I'd hate to be them right now.
Hydaelyn is a complete primal. It's not like Dreadwyrm Trance.
>hades snaps Elpis flowers around Ultima Thule. They are white, which proves there is hope there, so we can call the scions back because Metion can't hurt us with despair anymore.
>For some reason we couldn't just do this on the source, release zodiark and live happily ever after in Elpis fields.
Aether is a hell of a drug.
>>For some reason we couldn't just do this on the source
Anonymous, Meteion is billions of light years away from the Source.
>Nah bro these 300000 dead civilizations aren't like the unsundered. They had the literal perfect civilization that would never have met a bad end ever!
We need to speed up expansion production. The farther we get from the ascian homosexualry of EW the better.
Right before the thread dies, I just want all of you to know I wish to breed with M'Naago until the day I die.
Your first mistake is thinking I haven't already gave her a bad case of vitiligo (with my cum)
I have over 300 screenshots from her during MSQ in SB
I have M'naago's partner
You are both my brother in arms but I also will have to fight you to the death for the most perfect chocolate cat ever conceived in Eorzea
>Be M'naago
>Abandon family to join the resistance
>fight a losing battle for nearing a decade
>watch comrade dies, still keep the good fight
>some white b***h from Sharlaya come in
>apparently her dad was famous in resistance
>Your boss passes resistance leadership to her
How much do you hate Lyse?
ABOUT AS MUCH AS EVERYONE ELSE
at least M'naago got to toot it, no one else gets to doot the toot
Final Fantasy XIV Dootbringers on sale now we M'Naago expansion
Damn straight
Endwalker was a mistake
There are Ascian fans in this thread who actually believe they would beat Omicrons in battle.
True, thanks Main Character WoL.
WoL is to Venat what Fallout NV Courier is to the NCR. The one actually fixing shit for them
WoL isn't an Ascian.
Shadowbringer fans actually think WoL IS Azem, don't they?
I know he isn't an Ascian, that doesn't mean its not WoL who ultimately fixes shit. Take your meds, Azem didn't even cross my mins to begin with
Thank god this thread is about to end so I don't have to deal with you guys anymore. See you in 30 minutes.
???????????
Considering how the ascian lead sundered fricked over the dragons who gave the omicrons issues, yeah the ascians probably would win.
6.2 is part two of the gods raid right?
>Snake girls
>Have furry tail tips.
Why?
Venat literally destroyed everything for no reason, without not-Azem fixing everything everyone would have died anyway
guys i cant stop jerking off to my own character
What race and gender is your character?
fem miqo
no
>fem miqote
Not my favorite but reasonable enough I guess
you are rude but also a dude so I let it pass, rude dude
Thanks for tanking most of that, I don't have the energy to even humor that level of circular logic at this late of a time in the night. Was a pleasure posting with everyone
Male lala, uuoohh
post them quick so we can too, this is how new concepts are approved in Amaurot
THROUGH DICK, UNITY
I always wonder, do people really hate EW story that much or is it just a handful of sad anon making the same thread and argument day in and day out?
>a handful of sad anon making the same thread and argument day in and day out?
It's this. Don't pretend this isn't common practice here about many games. Some guy here is obsessed with posting vidya butts every days for god knows how long.
I wonder, would you ask the same if the post was about another character introduced in EW?
I like EW. It had some issues and really needed to be two expansions so we wouldn't have these arguments anymore but it was pretty good.
This. I'm still have a lot of questions I'm worried will never be answered because they wanted to go fast and we will never revisit this shit again, like Ala Mhigo
Your wife since coils
No thanks
My wife.
QUICK DUMP RYNE WE'RE ON PAGE 10
No. Ryne and Gaia are too good to waste on a dying thread
If sundered people are so great, why do they fall for ascians tricks everytime? The sundered are like naive children, even the supposed wise leaders fall victim to the most ridiculous ascians plots. It's actually hilarious how stupid sundered are.
Remember that we shitposted, that we once didn't go to bed on weeknights and hated ourselves in the morning...
>slow nod
>smile
Imagine liking Ascians. What a gay.
post the 1.0 raider vs 5.0 raider one
>reddit meme
Why am I not surprised
tl;dr venatcucks are schizos with reddit tier morality
zodiark trance is cringe(and not canon)
EW is bad writing, even Stormblood was better
Fujo make all sides seethe
I want to frick all the female characters in the game.
I think people who use terms like "kino" unironically should just kill themselves. I get the strong impression you are the people who say LOL in real life.
I think the time for being hooked on unironics long since passed. Why is this star not dead yet!?
>trolly was good
>talos was good
Watch these posers pretend they care about Ga Bu next.
Can't believe we're ending things on this level of shitpost
