They were superior in most ways, but that aether/dynamis balance was the crucial difference. Birds are evolved forms of dinosaurs, so even though any dinosaur could have killed any bird with ease, dinosaurs still died out and birds are far more prolific and successful as a species.
I still don't get how the ancients wouldn't be able to kill the Endsinger. Meteion didn't blink you out of existence by looking at you when you got to Ultima Thule, she instead attempts to kill you via a mundane suffocation, which I very much doubt a transformed Ancient would be vulnerable to. You literally ride a giant dragon made of Aether to kill her, Dynamis is only ever mentioned one time in the fight to survive an extremely powerful attack but there's no indication survival couldn't have happened otherwise.
It's not like they lacked champions, and if you argue the final dayd turned most ancients magic against them, current day standard citizens had it even worse and we still won with a group of like 17 people max.

Better than it was before when its buffs didn't effect itself, it is just a worse mch because of weaker burst but the esuna is really good for some mobs. When I tried bard for fun I got to 190 set and died, but I've cleared on multiple jobs so your mileage may vary
Dancer on the other hand is fricking awful
All the jobs are literal suffering except WAR and MCH. RDM and RPR are doable but still suffering.
BRD is possible but has like no burst at that level.
MCH has been the pick for years now and is still probably top tier even with RDM getting sleep as a role skill this expansion.
I did it as MCH, its silence was invaluable for mimics and the bind was really useful.
I tried NIN but 171+ was brutal as melee even with 2 ninjutsu to burn+kassatsu ninjutsu and I kept getting fricked.
RDM is a choice and has a self heal and can sleep enemies but you're not going to be able to completely cheese with its heals, you need to be good at slide casting.
You can't kite as well with RDM compared to MCH also.
Ninja was unironically better than rdm back when it still had its dot. Ever since EW it sucks now

black mage. on a clean run with minimal adjusting and/or little special treatment wrt ley lines i get 80-85
if i get super in the zone i could get low 90's but those instances can be counted on one hand
this is managed without consulting nonstandard rotation stuff down to specific spellspeed thresholds and other considerations though. i just prog each tier and feel my way through until im totally stumped on figuring out something like leyline placement or instant cast usage on my own. but i doubt thats enough to explain a 10% gap.
ive been stubborn about consulting the Balance closely so far but ive also stagnated for several tiers roughly having the same parse numbers each time

They can stack mitigation together in DSR and that's what matters from what I've been told. DSR is mainly a mit check instead of a heal check

this might matter if scholar didn't have have four ogcd healing cooldowns that don't use aetherflow on top of having a refund for using energy drain with aetherpact.

you never want to do bunshin right into kamitachi. you bunshin before you go into buffs but you either drop kamitachi into buffs or you save it for movement
You do them back to back in the opener which is the most APM heavy, whenever you use it later you're in your filler phase so there's no reason to be frantically mashing your key like a spergo.

having to hit kaiten every single time I want to hit midare is just wearing out my keyboard for no actual reason because in the 52-62 range you didn't really have anything else to spend the kenki on and after 62 you built more kenki just getting your iaijutsus then you did on kaiten itself so any element of resource management doesn't fricking exist anymore unless you think deliberately wasting your meter for no reason counts as a tactical choice

you literally always had the meter to use kaiten when you wanted to use it unless you were flagrantly trolling so it didn't actually have any decision making and acted more like an arbitrary filter on your kenki gain and a way to hide the true intended potency of midare behind a second button press
it also made samurais damage very luck based, in order to encourage the proper playstyle of using kaiten on midare only the potency of everything else samurai did had to be weirdly low compared to other dps, which meant that either your kaiten midare crit for shitloads of damage or you had bad luck and your damage was kind of shit despite big damage being the reason your class exists. part of their fix for this was midare auto critting so it was more consistent but now if it had kaiten boost on top of it samurai would just do comically more damage then anyone else for no real reason, so by lowering the total midare potency but making it auto crit and boosting the damage of everything else samura did (which you can do now that you dont have midare inflating the damage to comical levels) samurais damage is more consistent

With less content and Raiding becoming the apparent content with longevity Savage clears have long since passed 13% the games population with closer to 40% at least finishing the first floor per tier. The 2% is for Ultimate raids.

He's right, JP hasn't had a WF since Weapon Refrain and the majority of WF in XIV have been NA. BEST raiders are NA, but a clear is a clear so JP has more clears on average than other regions.
JP got WF in E8S and P8S. Though E8S was kinda fricked because the enrage, the WF team had multiple 100% parsers and used 3 ranged DPS.
Double caster was pretty meta for all of SHB tbh, but Verse in particular pushed it.
