People who seek out challenging content in an MMO by and large are narccissists who are drawn to the prestige of it, not the actual challenge. The very thing that makes them seek out high end raiding is what drives them to cheat. Hardcore raiding has never been about challenge for challenge's sake, it's been about bragging rights and having a cool glam you can flex on lesser players with who simply lack the free time you have to spend so much time on a raid. As such, cheating is naturally not an issue for them. When the goal is not overcoming immense challenges for the sake of it, but for the rewards and bragging rights, why would you have any issue cheating to get it?
Seeking out hard content is narcissitic by default. It's something that attracts ego-andies by it's nature. The amount of people who actually play hard content because they just like the challenge is extremely miniscule. Very few people like to be challenged in life in any way shape or form and naturally go the path of least resistence. Since the goal for the vast majority doing hardcore content is the rewards and bragging rights (i.e. ego-based motivations), naturally they cheat because cheating is the path of least resistence.
This is why "hardcore content" in an MMO is an oxymoron and will never not be a total waste of developer resources trying to cater to these people because they don't actually want hard content in the first place, they just want the illusion of it and something to flex on other players over even if they didn't actually earn it fair and square.

I could go on and on about the amount of fricked up shit that exists in this game, zoom hacks are just the very tip of the iceberg. More cheats exist besides the pve ones that actually impact your ability to play the game, such as pvp cheats and a plethora of marketboard bots as a small example. You can basically give up on attempting to make gil on a raid patch day because you will be undercut and botted out of existence just basically wasting your time.

SAM has filler weaponskills based on your GCD time if you want to maximize alignment between your midare and your tsubame-gaeshi. Or you do your backstep and ENHANCED ENPI if you need to burn a GCD before a midare.

DRG/NIN are about keeping your oGCDs off of CD and keeping them aligned to execute in the same order every 60/120 seconds.
Their rotations are 123123123 or 1234512345, piss ez.
SAM is just a strict looping rotation and is more reliant on comp to do giga DPS(DNC and DRG) and is fairly easy after doing a fight like once or twice.
RPR is gauge management but once you learn the breakpoints it's just about executing double enshroud 120 second windows and making sure gluttony doesn't drift too much or if at all.
Your minute enshroud is optional where it's placed and can even be saved to be used after the 2 minute window if necessary.
Melee is very easy, stop acting like any of them are hard.

The core gameplay IDEAS of an MMO were only ever designed for turn based JRPGs and tabletop games, those places are where those ideas work best because you're not burdened by the error of a team, and the progression of the game only take place in an intended end path where you beat the game and its over. The design that MMO's go for will always end badly if they're continually developed. The ceiling will be hit eventually.

Either you throw BS at the players thats unfair, or its too easy and they clear and whine that they're bored. There's a breaking point to what restricted gameplay can accomplish and what humans are willing to deal with. And that's what MMOs are by design, restricted games.
Cooldown sucks, the triad sucks, AOE's and wipes suck, rolling for loot sucks. All of these ideas taken from old games and forced into an MMO design suck. No skill issue, no git gud, no deflections, no damage control. MMO's suck ass because they never end.

People who seek out challenging content in an MMO by and large are narccissists who are drawn to the prestige of it, not the actual challenge. The very thing that makes them seek out high end raiding is what drives them to cheat. Hardcore raiding has never been about challenge for challenge's sake, it's been about bragging rights and having a cool glam you can flex on lesser players with who simply lack the free time you have to spend so much time on a raid. As such, cheating is naturally not an issue for them. When the goal is not overcoming immense challenges for the sake of it, but for the rewards and bragging rights, why would you have any issue cheating to get it?
Seeking out hard content is narcissitic by default. It's something that attracts ego-andies by it's nature. The amount of people who actually play hard content because they just like the challenge is extremely miniscule. Very few people like to be challenged in life in any way shape or form and naturally go the path of least resistence. Since the goal for the vast majority doing hardcore content is the rewards and bragging rights (i.e. ego-based motivations), naturally they cheat because cheating is the path of least resistence.
This is why "hardcore content" in an MMO is an oxymoron and will never not be a total waste of developer resources trying to cater to these people because they don't actually want hard content in the first place, they just want the illusion of it and something to flex on other players over even if they didn't actually earn it fair and square.
Youd have a point except none of the raiding is actually hard. Even ultimate is about as difficult as learning a moderate level piece of piano music. Around 100-200 hours of investment mostly dependent on how moronic your teammates are.

Pixel perfect, zoom hacks, automated openers, no delay, cooldown resets in pvp, speed hacks in pvp, triggers in pvp that literally status someone the moment they attempt to attack you or lb, massive fricking telegraphs so you can't ever hit anyone with drg/gnb lbs or anything like that. I could go on and on about the amount of fricked up shit that exists in this game, zoom hacks are just the very tip of the iceberg. Fricking do something about it, the game is becoming unplayable unless you join in and cheat yourself, but then why am I even playing at that point.

More cheats exist besides the pve ones that actually impact your ability to play the game, such as pvp cheats and a plethora of marketboard bots as a small example. You can basically give up on attempting to make gil on a raid patch day because you will be undercut and botted out of existence just basically wasting your time.

Because I can't deal with ogcds. They just always become unaligned with the rotation and I can just feel something is wrong. Sam has no ogds, no cooldowns I have to look at my hotbar for, nothing. Sam is literally a set in stone strict rotation and there are only a few fights where you have to adjust. I've tried really hard to master drg and nin but both I just can't.
NIN is easier than SAM imo. Just press trick and vomit all your mudras. It doesn't even matter the order as long as you make sure to dump Hyosho and Raitons.

DRG/NIN are about keeping your oGCDs off of CD and keeping them aligned to execute in the same order every 60/120 seconds.
Their rotations are 123123123 or 1234512345, piss ez.
SAM is just a strict looping rotation and is more reliant on comp to do giga DPS(DNC and DRG) and is fairly easy after doing a fight like once or twice.
RPR is gauge management but once you learn the breakpoints it's just about executing double enshroud 120 second windows and making sure gluttony doesn't drift too much or if at all.
Your minute enshroud is optional where it's placed and can even be saved to be used after the 2 minute window if necessary.
Melee is very easy, stop acting like any of them are hard.
Last time they were remotely hard was SB or arguably I guess ShB.

So glad I quit this dumpster fire years ago, and went back to PSOBB and PSU. All MMO's end up a disappointment by design. The core gameplay IDEAS of an MMO were only ever designed for turn based JRPGs and tabletop games, those places are where those ideas work best because you're not burdened by the error of a team, and the progression of the game only take place in an intended end path where you beat the game and its over. The design that MMO's go for will always end badly if they're continually developed. The ceiling will be hit eventually.
Yes MMO's work, but when you reach critical mass in design like FFXIV has, It always reaches some kind of weird head. Either you throw BS at the players thats unfair, or its too easy and they clear and whine that they're bored. There's a breaking point to what restricted gameplay can accomplish and what humans are willing to deal with. And that's what MMOs are by design, restricted games.
Cooldown sucks, the triad sucks, AOE's and wipes suck, rolling for loot sucks. All of these ideas taken from old games and forced into an MMO design suck. No skill issue, no git gud, no deflections, no damage control. MMO's suck ass because they never end.
