Not really, speedrunns have leaderboards with established rulesets. If a runner cheats, they just don't get on the leaderboard. There's no actual issue with cheating outside of the leaderboard. If a speedrunner streams a "cheating to beat world record" run and doesn't submit the run to the leaderboard, no one cares.
Since the FFXIV dev aren't acknowledging the cheated win, it doesn't actually matter that they cheated.
That particular guy was in Brappy's stream team so they're making bank on the views.

I still remember the classic world first 60 and how people tried to race for it and tryharded like crazy for it. Established teams and all that. Then a random dude nobody knew about easily mogged them all and got the world first 60. Before that nobody knew who he was. But after the race he got insane amount of viewers and all kind of sponsorships and is now part of the method team I think.

It's honestly not even terrible players most of the time, the calls are usually tailored towards giving the buyer an easier time (like you saw with Rich) so that helps.
It's mostly people with money to blow and irregular schedules that wouldn't fit into regular static requirements.
the first to clear raids in any mmo are the first to sell it for real money via paypal, crypto, or whatever real life currency. this isnt ffxiv exclusive. happens in world of warcraft for more than 15 years.

You can take 56 people, you can do an all-tank run, all DPS run, all healer run (because of Logos Actions) hell it's been cleared with as few as 12 people. Probably less by now.
You can bring reraisers, or you can get healers to use Lost Sacrifice. Or both, or neither if you have giant balls.
There's even a twin path you can choose which one you want to do (as long as both bosses die).
BA is the type of content we SHOULD be getting but people get ASCURRD because they think it's suuuuper hard and they don't want to "inconvenience" other people even though they have no problem doing that every week in every other duty.

Every single competitive shooter has an FOV slider that lets you adjust the camera however you want. It doesn't limit you to 45 FOV because that would be an incompetent way to design a game. How did you not know that?

Made shit play out with much more sense when WoL gets so devastated any time something happens to them.

FFXIV is only "difficult" because the classes are needlessly complex and the raids are bloated with mechanics. WoW difficulty is more genuine since it's based on gear checks, while FFXIV difficulty is artificial since it's gatekeeped by skill.
Not only that, WoW's raids are difficult because devs release them untested. Thank god for liquit and echo and the rest for betatesting them so the devs can hotfix them midfight

They only proof is a zoom hack but the problem is it's not the only thing they were using probably. Because in order to use that zoom hack you need to inject a certain framework in the game. Which allows way nastier cheats than a shitty zoom hack
In ultimates, "trio" mechanics generally require to quickly look at your surroundings and adjust to boss positions while you are resolving your own mechanics. A zoom hack removes part of the challenge in the surroundings part.

If a speedrunner streams a "cheating to beat world record" run and doesn't submit the run to the leaderboard, no one cares.

Sure there are a ton you can just buy but everyone has them anyways, or will get them in time. Players who've been playing since 2.0 should have about 200 mounts, there's not really any excuse. I have been playing 1 year and have 155 as of today. Something like 40 mounts per expac cycle is the norm, no one expects you to have those shitty PvP exclusive mounts.

I just assumed when I started playing that the reason the Scions never followed me during the longer tasks was that the devs didn't know how to reconciliate mmo gameplay with having a party, so I just imagined that they were actually following and not excusing themselves out at every turn. Made shit play out with much more sense when WoL gets so devastated any time something happens to them.
They do a lot of stuff behind the scenes we don't see in ARR, but in later expansions you will see them actually helping out, not sure where you are in the story so I'm not saying more than that.
The new dungeon thing where you can do MSQ with in-story NPCs was also made to help alleviate this issue.

FFXIV is only "difficult" because the classes are needlessly complex and the raids are bloated with mechanics. WoW difficulty is more genuine since it's based on gear checks, while FFXIV difficulty is artificial since it's gatekeeped by skill.

They only proof is a zoom hack but the problem is it's not the only thing they were using probably. Because in order to use that zoom hack you need to inject a certain framework in the game. Which allows way nastier cheats than a shitty zoom hack
In ultimates, "trio" mechanics generally require to quickly look at your surroundings and adjust to boss positions while you are resolving your own mechanics. A zoom hack removes part of the challenge in the surroundings part.
