make games f2p and give them rollback and add simple controls but also add 1f links and make training mode dlc

this is the real answer. Also If you need to pay for characters they should be free in training mode. Poor people should be able to lab against tough match ups too.

No one is going to bother if the execution requirements are a grocery list of moves. What other game genre even comes close to this level of this execution

The execution of fighting games isn't an issue for me but I don't like playing first person shooters because I'm bad with mouse and keyboard.

It's not even that they're hard to play, so much as they're hard to play against other people. Since the advent of streaming I have zero motivation to ever play any multiplayer game ever again, unless I change my name before I do so. I used to watch people stream fighting games and all they and the chat do is trash their opponents. I don't want to be the joke of the day.

If you improve enough, you'll stop dealing with normal players. Plus every level of fighting games has streamers, including the high level streamers themselves smurfing.

same, I can lose all day to random faceless homosexuals and have fun, but fighting against(and losing horribly) to vtubers and other streamers in BBCF was the thing that made me drop fighting games competitively. Now I just play for shits and giggles.

There are many games that have those simplified moves everyone says that are holding people back, but no one is playing them.

the problem with fighting games is that when you lose, its on you for that loss. Only a certain kind of person can handle that negative feeling for long periods of time.

nah FGs give you plenty of excuses, out of every competitive gaming community i've been in FG players are consistently the most whiny and blame-passing.

        >FG players are consistently the most whiny and blame-passing.
is the fact that a match is over within minutes a factor to how much they complain? I can't imagine someone sitting and blowing their lid over taking a light punch

you don't have to imagine it at most events, whether local or major. online its harder to tell since i don't have to be next to them but at the same time i've definitely fought more than
one person who would send salt over psn/discord after literally every round as well.

stop making them mixup/pressure simulators, and actually force players to interact outside of neutral. most FGs might as well be turn-based in their current state.

You have a shallow view of fighting games. People who want to be tournament competitive and win need to know situational combos and character specific combos. That takes a lot of time to learn.

    Doesn't need fixing.
In fact, devs should start getting a bit more complex again.

    1. Less sexist crap. Do you have any idea how hard it is to grow a games population when it's gatekept by toxic dude bros? It's embarrassing and juvenile.

    2. Inflation fetishism. There's a massive untapped market out there that developers just don't understand! They should really open their minds up to markets.

add co-op modes to tag games so you can teach frens how to play fighters. TTT2 and SFxT had it. DBFZ party mode should be better now that rollback is getting added, and there's a new fighting game still in development called cerebrawl that's 2v2.

make it so people are interested in learning, every single aspect of the game tailored to engage the player into learning how to play properly

the only correct answer, anything and everything else is you pulling shit out your ass that got blasted from that 0-2

Honestly you can't really "fix" fighting games as fighting games are inherently competitive, not to say other genres aren't, but the majority of fighting games are too complex to play casually. You have to treat it as a hobby to get the most enjoyment out of it. My best guess to make a best selling fighting game, is to do a big arena, and let people beat the shit out of each-other with a design philosophy of "easy to learn hard to master" kind of thing. Whether it's FFA or Red vs Blue, it's a casual to experience to frick around in for a few minutes.
