    of course
the difficulty is cancelling into it
and linking to it is impossible outside flukes in training mode

      Anonymous

Canceling is specifically designed to be easy. Linking can be easier hard depending on how many frames the link window is one frame hard five frames extremely easy. You don't know what the frick you're talking about.

It's fricking crazy to me that nowadays the first thing people learn is youtube combos. They don't even know that highs and lows exist or not to immediately do their super once they get it but they can hit the youtube combo if they ever hit the starter once a year

          >"Hey anon, you should play ____."
          >"Oh, no thanks. I saw some combos on Youtube and that game looks really hard."

This has happened irl too, and I'm screaming internally every time.

Yeah but KoFXIII is a perfect example of a game that requires you to do fricked up combos to even begin to compete

Compete at EVO maybe, but you don't need to learn all that shit to just play the game competently.

its funny how consistently i can beat my friends who spend hours learning combos they saw online just because i know how to block and space properly

I got into bbcf to play with my boyfriend and I can do very basic but decent combos but for the life of my I cannot get blocking timing right so he bodies the frick out of me with Susanoo. I STILL haven't beaten it despite having almost 400 matches played with es

Doesn't almost everybody fudge the motion though?
I think most of the time I do down+forward twice and it registers.

That only works in new games designed that way.

I was one of those SNK kids growing up so I was conditioned early in life on twisting my fingers into pretzels. Only negative is that getting used to that + getting a fightstick as soon as I started really getting into the fightan genre has made my individual finger/thumb accuracy on my left hand fricking abysmal. Hand me a stick and I can do whatever fricked up motions you want, but give me a controller, keyboard or hitbox and I can't even do a dp to the left.

I just do forward and then a qcf. I've never really tried to do it properly.

        >Hand me a stick and I can do whatever fricked up motions you want, but give me a controller, keyboard or hitbox and I can't even do a dp to the left.
On the bright side, that's a pretty handy way to handicap yourself a bit when playing with less experienced friends and players.

This OS only works if you do the DP input clean and end on 3.
Otherwise you expose your toes and can get clipped low.

The only reason I don't play fighting games is because you character looks dumb when you're inputting combos. It's so dumb to me it turns me off the whole genre.

Fighting games are for mind broken browns and blacks. Arcades don't exist anymore. Cabinets are too retro and expensive for even the most basic of hobbyists. Guilty Gear lost because trannies lived rent free in the devs' head. Dedicating combos to muscle memory is too hard for zoomers. It's over. Move on.

had to learn them to properly play Ken when I started SFV

I remember like nine years ago when trying to consistently do qcfs on both sides of the screen was a challenge. now, the only real inputs I really have left to master are the b~fbf, the 720 (on keyboard) and the 1080. never give up anons; we're all gonna make it out of bronze rank soon

I was just thinking that today when I was hitting sidestep electrics like 3x a match in T8

  16. 2 weeks ago
    Anonymous

to be completely honest when a game is straight up with them, old school no leniency, I can't, at least not on a dpad. playing sf2 a shoryuken is a basically a last ditch hail mary, sometimes when I'm in the zone I can get one to come out but most of the time it's a hadouken and i eat a jump in. same with gief's 360. playing IV and V I could probably do a 100 of them in a row without a drop in training. only time I ever miss is in combos.

  17. 2 weeks ago
    Anonymous

I can do any motion, combining them in a match with the right timing is too much effort for someone that didn't growup with FGs, i'll stick to FPS games

The srk input is not the "gate" to fighting games. I worry about people who think that a srk is hard and then go out and get in a car and drive it.
