>we're not going to do cinematic trailers >we're going to have gameplay in the first trailer we show >we're going to prove our convention gameplay isn't pre-recorded >we're going to launch a finished game on day 1
I don't even care if the game is good or not, their marketing model is SSS tier and I will not fault them for it.
not necessarily, they could've done their first trailer with only in-game cinematics, which wouldn't be gameplay but also wouldn't be CGI trailers that aren't even close to representative.
It's good marketing, it's just a shame the games associated with this dev team are pseudo games.
As an example, it's really hard to call FFXIV an MMORPG. But it technically is one.
It's also really hard to call XVI an action game, but it is one. It's hard to call it an RPG, but it technically is one. It's just, instead of going forward, they usually move backwards when it comes to design. It's really disappointing.
Well yeah, that's what I mean. You can do it because it technically is one. Not because it is an action game that we can compare to DMC, Ninja Gaiden or God of War or Metal gear rising. It is 'an action game' in 'an RPG', not an action RPG like Nioh 2 or Stranger of Paradise but a game with minimal inputs that are just enough to be called sn action game and just enough systems to be called an RPG. It has no identity, it's a bad emulation of an action RPG.
I am still pretty baffled they took most of the dev team for XIV their fucking lifeline literally propping up their entire failing company and went all in on FFXVI.
If this shit fails to meet expectations and doesn't sell well then XIV will keep it's decline.
It's going to take actual effort to get back those players they've lost since everyone realized EW was the most pathetic fucking expansion they've ever released.
It'll be a full fucking year without any major updates.
They'll bleed players.
And for what
A fucking DMC clone without replay-value.
Their NFT bullshit won't pan out, but they're so delusional they don't know it.
No it fucking hasn't you revisionist piece of shit. The previous two expansions had exploratory content and a relic you actually did things for instead of a patch that adds a tome dump for a currency you're already capped on by casually doing roulettes a few times a week.
The exploratory content was the closest this game ever got to being a true mmo. It was the only part of the game besides the toxic cesspit that is main cities where people would socialize and talk about the game.
It is frustrating how content lite this expac has been. I really hope they bring back eureka/bozja style content for 7.0. This expac has no midcore content aside from extremes, and relics basically aren't content if they continue with the current trend. Even if it was just running fates in a certain zone or running a certain dungeon repeatedly, that's at least something the community can group around. But just tomestone farm is just doing what you were already doing. It's nothing.

>if they continue with the current trend
He already confirmed its not changing and its another 1500. It's unironically over for the relic this expansion. I've lost all hope. I'm worried that everything after 6.0 will be pure disappointment going forward they've done nothing to soothe my concerns as every bit of content they've put out (even the ultimates) are lacking in polish.

I think he just got overconfident in his ability to run two active developments at once, and decided to pull back on XIV for a bit to get XVI out the door. Unfortunately this probably means 7.0 will also be a weak expansion.

I mean XVI is done and 7.0 is probably somewhat early in development. If anything, now is the time for them to all rejoin XIV development and fix it up. Particularly the postgame which they likely haven't even begun working on.

I'm hoping now that XVI's development is done, they'll put all the team back on XIV and the quality will come back up. As long as 7.0 is a return to form, I can let this slump go.
A Baldesion Arsenal/Delubrum Reginae savage style dungeon in 6.5 would go a long way too. Progging DRS was my favorite part of shadowbringers.
>Friends who joined on Shadowbringers say they’ll never touch Bozja and Eureka because its boring >Cheer for no more forays in EW >Also unsubs on EW because of content droughts
I fucking hate people who plays MMOs but hate MMOs content.

I personally don't define XIVs side shit as content. Grinding things that don't change my character or do anything for me or those around me is really pointless to me.

Right? People complaining that it's just about grinding 1500 tomestones don't seem to remember how mindnumbingly tedious previous relic weapons were to farm.
The only valid complain is the lack of bozja like but back in ShB people said it was shit, at least in Japan, despite Matsuno and his team doing a fantastic job with it.

Bozja would've been better received if the zones weren't fuckugly
So it'll be a day 2 patch, or a week 2 patch?
Unless they're stating that their game is so perfect that it doesn't need any patches, then all they're doing is delaying support for a weird as fuck marketing reason.
they're saying they're confident it's not going to have major issues on launch day and aren't arbitrarily holding half the game back for no discernible reason like other AAA games tend to do.
Or it means those penny pinching nips at S0E aren't inclined to do enough testing themselves to locate bugs and are just going to let the general populace do it for them. after all, weebs will keep buying their games.
>brainraped, empty, soulless zoomers are trying desperately to talk shit about this, the first great, uncompromised game of the current console generation because it will prove how pathetic their entire gaming experiences has been for the last decade
Didn't the game have this retarded performance mode where it only runs at 60fps during combat and cucking you with 30fps outside combat? Game also didn't let you turn off damage numbers and button remapping which just seems like such an easy way to significantly improve the game.
>Didn't the game have this retarded performance mode where it only runs at 60fps during combat and cucking you with 30fps outside combat?
Apparently that was an earlier build of the game.
It was Maximillian Dood not asking the PR team about the different builds they were playing when he should’ve remembered the PAC demonstration being at 60 fps in the field. He’s a bit of an idiot.
>However, Takai notes that CBUIII is testing the game daily and searching for bugs, and things could change as a result, but right now, like in the days of old Final Fantasy, this entry should work entirely as expected out of the box.
What's the point of this article again?
No day one patch? So it's a confirmed disaster. Nice.
>we're not going to do cinematic trailers

I don't even care if the game is good or not, their marketing model is SSS tier and I will not fault them for it.
The first 3 are the same thing.
not necessarily, they could've done their first trailer with only in-game cinematics, which wouldn't be gameplay but also wouldn't be CGI trailers that aren't even close to representative.
and convention gameplay isn't a trailer.

I dunno seems pretty easy to call XVI an action game, but then again I'm not autistic

damn, so it does look ugly. what happened?
I am still pretty baffled they took most of the dev team for XIV their fucking lifeline literally propping up their entire failing company and went all in on FFXVI.

huh? 7.0 will come out in March/April
6.4 is out in like less than 9 hours mate relax.
>dumb mmo monkey thinks XVI started development in 2019
oh noes, the raidfags got one or two less bosses to cheat through
raiding is the only aspect of the game that is getting content. which is the fucking problem you retarded schizophrenic.
other areas are getting content, it's just not particularly good
It's the first time I've unsubscribed and taken a hiatus since gordias. it's fucking trash.
I don't blame you, honestly. I'm going to do this last raid tier then probably unsub until 7.0.
Buddy, I'm sorry you're upset about this. But it's been this way for years. You're a bit late to complain xD

They've been polishing the game since like a year now, i would be very surprised if it turns out to be a buggy mess.
So does that mean that this is the only AAA game that was actually fucking finished on release?
imagine
Or it means those penny pinching nips at S0E aren't inclined to do enough testing themselves to locate bugs and are just going to let the general populace do it for them. after all, weebs will keep buying their games.
The absolute state of current AAA gaming landscape lmao.
It has gone gold back in early April I believe
>brainraped, empty, soulless zoomers are trying desperately to talk shit about this, the first great, uncompromised game of the current console generation because it will prove how pathetic their entire gaming experiences has been for the last decade
r u ok
This alone makes this the best game to ever exist.
Didn't the game have this retarded performance mode where it only runs at 60fps during combat and cucking you with 30fps outside combat? Game also didn't let you turn off damage numbers and button remapping which just seems like such an easy way to significantly improve the game.
don't pretend like you're not just waiting for the PC release anyway

Apparently that was an earlier build of the game.
It was Maximillian Dood not asking the PR team about the different builds they were playing when he should’ve remembered the PAC demonstration being at 60 fps in the field. He’s a bit of an idiot.
Oh wow, a game that doesn't require internet connection to access the most basic features.
Doesn't matter since i will watch my favorite vtuber "playing" it.
On principle this game should be one of the best to come out in 2 console generation. I just can't trust SE to stick the landing.
This should be industry standard. Physical copies shouldn't be useless without an active update distribution server.
It’s so bad they abandon it before the release
Not dropping 600$ for PS5 just to play it.
Fuck sake, Yoshi. The majority of XIV players are PC.
Why did "expansion" get shortened into "expac"
expansion pack, ya big dummy
Just give me a FF with DQ11 format jesus chris, and then I will buy your console.
PC Port when?
I believe YoshiP said not to expect it for at least a year. Definitely longer than 6 months.
right after the XIV engine upgrade
>However, Takai notes that CBUIII is testing the game daily and searching for bugs, and things could change as a result, but right now, like in the days of old Final Fantasy, this entry should work entirely as expected out of the box.
What's the point of this article again?
Marketing.
see tendies? this is what it looks like when a game is ready on release
