I couldn’t have said it any better. The game is so fricking boring that it makes the other flaws seem insignificant.
I could complain about how the game doesn’t give you time to solve puzzles before it flat out gives you the answer, about how the world is beautiful but most of it is completely blocked off to the player with invisible walls, the enemy AI’s are extremely simple for a modern AAA title, but those don’t subtract from the experience in any meaningful way because the experience is soooooo bland that I’m numb to other problems.
Im a sonygay and I even I know that the combat is very flawed. I hope santa monica releases a new IP and not god of war again, hopefully with a different director
>no skip button [Half Life got away with it since the interactive cutscene bits were pretty short, compared to this game] >blew their load with Thor at the beginning, which has more phases the the final boss >Atreus moveset is underdeveloped >field banter is mandatory [this was solved in the 6th gen with Tales of Symphonia, by the way] >companions [who should've been full-blown party members that can be swapped to, blurt out the answer to puzzles after a minute, instead of at least letting you ask them, first
There. Didn't even bring up the race-swapping, Freya's speech [as well as still being alive], or Odin's depiction, since that's low-hanging fruit.
XB3's just as guilty of that, sometimes. >take a left when you get to the Kevesi capital >instead of fighting Ashera once as a miniboss, chasing her down, then fighting a wave of mooks, like Gray, you have to fight a Levnis squad, walk over to her colony, go through 3 more waves of mooks, before fighting her Consul, then sit through 10 minutes of dialogue, before you can move on.
>gow1 was a movie but still a cool intro to norse mythology >was looking forward to the sequel where they would get ready for ragnarok >and then a third game to end the new trilogy and tease the next egypt setting >lol no they blew their load and ended everything with a polished but empty 2nd game
can't see how, with them completing the ragnarok battle
if they're mad they will give atreus his own game
and if not they will hopefully make a prequel with young angry kratos fricking up egypt
>atreus his own game
I can see that, since they still left the secret ending as a sequel hook. >prequel with young angry kratos fricking up egypt
They can do whatever just give me the old combat back.
>Combat is bland >Equipment system is so inconsequential that you can skip it with a button >The puzzles are extremely braindead, on top of the game telling the solution after 3 seconds. >It's more of a movie than a game
I've been wanting to play this but I can't remember any of what happened in GoW2018. I played the game, I remember enjoying it enough to get the platinum trophy but I couldn't tell you what happens plot-wise beyond the first encounter with Baldur.
I wanted to complain about the puzzle handholding but then I saw a bunch of normies failing at it even with the characters telling you exactly what to do, so I guess they actually didn't go far enough.
Only real problems are the dogshit camera and the token 'quippy' characters. Overall though it's breddy gud for a big budget AAA release. It's a solid 6/10, would be a 7 if they didn't have Burch "punch up" the dialogue in really obvious and irritating ways.
easy
over the shoulder camera for a melee-combat game is moronic, they need to compensate for this dumb design by placing the awareness meter when enemies are flanking or attacking from behind
Glacial pace of progressing incredibly simplistic storyline that's both boring by itself and due to the way how it takes forever to move forward. All while combat is kinda shit and AI in PS2-era GoW was genuinely harder. And cutscenes. Jesus frick, all the fricking cutscenes
So in the end of the day, it's a bland story and bland gameplay, all in single package.
Its biggest sin is being extremely boring, all of the other multitude of problems stems from this unavoidable fact.

The only flaw is the offscreen projectile enemies imo. Everything else, the grappling, the cancels, the combos, the parry is pretty great.
not on pc/switch/xbox
This kills snoy trannies.
Looks like you got filtered.
They only tell you the solution if you take too long to solve the puzzle.
You can even turn off the hints if you're slow.
Even if you did the puzzle as fast as possible with advance knowledge, they will still give you hints.
>t. moron
the dialogue in general is annoying, but this is simply not true. atreus quipping his way up the asgard wall almost made me turn the game off though

>Black folk
>femdom
>boring
got three already
You don't want to stick your dick in homie femmes?
>Time to do one side quest, I have 15 minutes for it
>Side quest takes a fricking hour
Wtf
XB3's just as guilty of that, sometimes.

Won't there be a third game?

Why does this look like a 13 year old's first DAZ render?
As long as you concede that XB3 or Metal Hellsinger has the superior OST.
I don't play weebshit. God of war also has one of the best ost's in recent games
That and Heimdall's boss theme were the most notable ones.

you lose the bear skin cloak 5 minutes into the game and never get it back
GIVE ME MY FRICKING CLOAK
Linear shit, interactive movie
Elden Ring is a better game
Why do these two games get compared so often when they’re nothing alike?
BOTW is a closer comparison to elden ring than GoW
I'm going to say it. Hades was a better GoW4.
I wanted to complain about the puzzle handholding but then I saw a bunch of normies failing at it even with the characters telling you exactly what to do, so I guess they actually didn't go far enough.

GoTY doesn't matter
GOW:R is far better game that elden shit
cope
These new games are clearly for teenagers or busy dads. As a hobbyist I would never purchase a piece of software like this.
>kratos says war bad
>son says two nukes aren't enough
>kratos calls him wise and kills everybody
pretty based ngl
easy

over the shoulder camera is for shooters
god hand proves that it works you just need to not have 100+ moronic gaijins making it
