The character designs for engage have just disappointed me honestly, the more they revealed the female characters the more obvious the same face syndrome they had became. 99 percent of the girls have the same moeblob genshin face while half of the men share a pretty boy face. Gameplay wise its interesting, but so far I feel like they're not doing any of the FE protags justice. Also no villain rings? Lame, I would've liked to have seen Julius or Berkut or something
I haven't been hyped about a FE game since Fates and i'm not a huge fan of the emblems since it just looks like cheap fanservice to me.
I do like some of the designs though.
Pretty much. DLC being announced before release isn't helping to pique my interest either.
I also don't look at pre-release content for games like the other anon but I also haven't been excited for a new FE in actual years. Awakening was the last game I looked forward to and that excitement was betrayed after seeing how it was just a waifu simulator and even that had been ruined thanks to the absolute gutter trash that is western localization.
I actually haven't been looking at anything about it other than knowing the basic premise (summon the past Lords as your Stands, basically, right)
I'm sitll gonna get it, and I think I'll probably still have a good time, I've just decided not to really look at much pre-release footage of stuff I'm into now so that I can enjoy it more when I see it for myself ingame

Out of the obvious winners, I don't know if I want to grab Young Ike for Distant Dart, or Summer Eirika for Atk/Spd Oath 4, both for my NHana. back in book 1/2 before we had so many tools, trying to build a debuff team was fun. Pic related was an idea I had years ago.
I've wanted to do a "Nino and her husband/brothers" team, but I don't really wanna spend 1k orbs on +10'ing Jaffar (the other 3 are +10).
I'm also working on a "Serra's harem" team. Serra/Erk/Hector are built decently, but waiting to someday find it in me to build Matthew with this skill set.
Tank Matthew was a fun dagger. A budget built Matthew carried a decent amount LHBs a while after his refine. It's a shame his weapon became an inheritable with broadleaf, and is now outgunned by a lot of other daggers.
This is the only theme team I'll ever do.

Agree with you Limstella looks nice and is quite bulky the only thing holding them back is the inability to double but they'd lose out on blocking the enemy's double if they lose their weapon.

I wonder what an arcane staff would do would it buff the healer, hinder enemies, or aid the healer's allies? All I would ask for from an arcane staff would be the ability to give a skill like NFU, null penalties, dodge, or etc., some stats to self/allies, and a decent heal effect either in combat or after combat.
I just want one that focuses purely on damage since our best option for that is still Palm Staff.

I realized something at work. Reginn's special is called "seidr's shell", and she has the title "bearing Hope" while Seidr is titled "goddess of hope". Eitri was immortal, but turned to dust when she died as well as being surrounded by gold dust in her angry Xbox live message.
Assuming IS is working at least a year ahead of current content then at the end of book 5, they would have been planning out book 7. It could be that IS was hinting at Gullveig with book 5, but more than likely it is just sad coincidence, and will never be brought up.
I just thought you might like to know.

Velocity would be better right? the -3spd/def seems negligible, or at least wouldn't matter most of the time. the DR from velocity would save you because NFU is a lot more common on units nowadays, but DR piercing isn't as common.

I've had a Ymir for a while, I think I got her on a free summon, but I haven't really used her much even though I know her support capabilities are pretty interesting, being able to heal, purge debuffs and penalties, and give everyone Miracle.
Sad thing is Embla kind of dunks on all of that, because her Feud and Undefended statuses proc at the start of her own phase, meaning enemy phasing Embla becomes a bit trickier unless you straight up prevent her from activating Severance (ie False Start, which currently isn't in Light).
That's the thing with a lot of support units honestly, you only pull them out when needed.
She's a summoner duels unit. In SDs that relationship you described is inversed, as all you need for Ymir to dunk on Embla/Yune users is turn advantage.

Savvy Fighter 4 needs to be a thing. Having SF 3 be enemy phase only is really lame.
I get that armours are all enemy phase now, but SF should have just been straight up Null Follow-Up for armours, and it already has a bit of DR built into it too, right?
Ash, Askr, Sylvia (for Infantry Pulse), Summer Edelgard, Yuri, who else for a Light team?
Gonna use Edelgard to Galeforce, Yuri to disarm traps and try to annihilate something with Lethality.
I'm thinking Summer Thorr for both Exposure and Stall, for Yuri to do more damage, Sabotage Atk to help Edelgard meet the Atk check with Heavy Blade, and Stall to also halt Embla's advance.
I've also got Duo Chrom to help charge Edelgard's Galeforce, or Peony because another refresher can't hurt.
Stall can only stop Embla in SDs. In AR she cleanses her debuffs at the start of her turn so she will always have 3 mov if she keeps her defaulf B.

The only reason it doesn't work in SDs is that penalties either depend on player order in SDs, or buffs simply get calculated before penalties are applied in SDs (thus when her C slot activates she hasn't received any debuffs to cleanse as yet).

What's how might one make best use of the premium super forma friend thief pay to win thing? As a free to player who sometimes buys a forma pack for a cool budget build don't know how I would make good use of a fully SWAGGED OUT character I could likely never +10. Unless like a decked out legendary hero would be a really useful powercreep unit with the new skills?
to make the best use out of it, you are likely best off looking for a character you like with premium skills, or some legendary/mythic that can score well in pvp modes. without the premium skills the value goes down drastically. I'm sure someone has built the unit you are looking for if you ask around.

that is believable. the current issue with it is that people are having a hard time finding units they want, and are going to 3rd party places to organize. I didn't watch the video, but I ran into one with a title saying people are mass deleting friends in order to get a higher chance at the forma they want.
Not having a way to target units in this mode really hampers sales.

Scenario 3, Opportunity to get a modern kit onto a unit that I don't particularly care about but I have at +10 anyway or is close to +10 due to random chance. That's fine to be labelled as someone else's because I can respect that they like that character way more than I do.

It is possible to obtain all characters in the HoF assuming you have enough Forma souls. In most cases you are unlikely to complete the builds of more than two heroes per rotation. So to answer your question

Not a bad start, I would go and pick up some other free units though, you can get them from the start of each Book (each year's storyline), you got Fjorm from Book II, so you can get:

>Reginn, from Book V, a sword cavalry unit, has the ability to move again after attacking, perfect for hit and run

>Seidr, from Book VII, the most recent Book, a green tome cavalry unit who can prevent opposing from units

What's a unit that you guys summoned and you underestimated or didn't think much of, but ended up being a favourite?
For me it's Ninja Camilla, I got her pretty quickly from her banner, saw she had basically perfect stats (+Atk -HP) and is insanely strong. She's been really helpful for PvE clears because she can just Vantage and double tap nearly everything, and even in PvP I've found her to be pretty fun with Muspell and Thorr to support her damage output.
Closest unit I have like that is Ymir. I only thought she'd be fun as a support unit, but she's surprisingly strong as a player phase unit herself. I unfortunately haven't found much significant use of her weapon's Assist skill effect yet (I've only really used her in Grand Conquests and AR). Would be a +10 contender if I didn't have like 15 others I'd rather do before her.
Summer Cordelia, she's surprisingly sturdy

GR just seems like a worse Vital Astra to me mainly thanks to the extra cooldown count. Am I missing something with it?
unsure. VA seems to be better if you have an unholy amount of speed over the enemy, but GR works better if you have just enough. GR also gives more DR than VA. I think they can also proc differently.
Normally I wouldn't care, but not using fodder efficiently bugs me.
? VA just requires you to be fast. GR requires meeting the speed check. VA is for raw damage output while GR is for blocking hits, even DR piercing specials.
Godlike reflexes can't be neutralized by Deadeye/Lethality/Spiral 4.
Also if you kill an enemy with Vital Astra, it won't be fully charged for the next round of combat (unless you have some sort of special spiral effect, like A!Mareeta or flame tribe Lyn) and you won't get the damage reduction. Meanwhile godlike reflexes can always stay fully charged if you have special cooldown charge+1 per attack.

The highest amount of base Spd with a +Spd weapon like that that Roy can get is like 48, maybe 50 with Summoner Support. That's counting max merges and DF.
A speedy neutral unit at +0 nowadays has like 42 to 44 at base and gets at least 5 to 6 from their prf, and often have superboons.
In other words I don't think it's worth trying to win the Spd creep using older units.

Feels like the same with original Muspell, in fact that might be why they made their seasonal versions
Like, both Nifl and Muspell need to actually fight in combat at least once to activate their Flash and Fatal Smoke respectively, and while their prfs can help, they just end up making better versions of the two down the line anyway (where Summer Nifl just get NFU and built in counter denial while Flame Tribe Muspell can pierce through DR and has Time's Pulse), while also keeping their prfs

Perhaps it would have been better to say that I didn't encounter any Yune in Binding Worlds despite having added a few people who I know set Yune as their proxy unit. Either way yes, I am not buying another BW forma unless they make friend hunting much more accessible.
According to the Wiki, BW came out in August, and this is the third time they have ran it since. the last time they ran BW was in October. the new Forma is a neat idea, but the mode hardly ever runs. Hopefully they will fix the selection issue by the next time they run it.

When I do the absolute bare minimum in TT to get all the orbs I get an actual visible numbered rank now, like 50k-60k IIRC, so that's probably a rough estimate of active playerbase? There might be slightly better ways of doing it, like bare minimum in VG.
I haven't seen a chart tracking arena cutoffs in a while, but they keep increasing rewards for it so I assume their internal data doesn't look so hot there either.

Atk/Res Oath or Def/Res Smoke? I already have Atk/Res Menace in my current Nah but I wonder which would be the more useful skill between those two. Also the game refuses to give me Distant skills.
I put Def/Res Smoke on Jill's forma since I didn't get Atk/Spd Oath and it's just okay. The Pathfinder is nice but only really useful if you can set it up. I think I'd be happier with making it easier for her to initiate combat and also getting a small in-combat buff.
Also, for Nah specifically, she wouldn't get the benefit of Pathfinder if you're trying to use her enemy phase. Not like she's locked to EP, but Atk/Res Oath will always benefit her in some way.

Honestly it just depends on who you don't have, and what fodder you think you will need. If your character pool for LHB is lacking in any game you could pick someone up for that.
Yuri/Ninian have the arena A skill so you could nab that if you are into arena. Mareeta has Vital Astra, and Fireman has Lethality.

No. Technically yes, but realistically no. The only unit that could get an arcane weapon is the unit that originally came with the arcane weapon. So unless they put Rearmed Lif, Grima, Ganglott or Ophelia in a Hall of Forms, you can't get an Arcane weapon from Hall of Forms.

If it works as written and assuming I'm not illiterate then the first condition is just completely redundant. Either you pass a speed check and get effectiveness for some units, or you pass an easier speed check and get effectiveness against all units. What's the point of the first condition?
It's to make it harder to get effective damage against most infantry I guess, considering the lack of innate infantry slaying weapons

How does it make it harder? The key word here is "otherwise" - even if you don't pass the first speed check, you still get the second, much easier speed check. Infantry or not, beast/dragon or not, you only need Spd+5.

How is the game? I've never played a musou/Warriors game before so I just wanna know how good it is.
I enjoyed it, it's a big step forward from the first FE:Warriors.
The game gives a lot of freedom over reclassing characters and you don't really need to grind for good weapons unlike the previous warriors game. There's a monastery-like hub where you go in between missions, but it feels a lot less bloated that the one from 3H.
The story is also decent, they've fleshed out some characters and you get to see others who were only name-dropped in 3H like Holst. Shez looks like a OC donut steel but I actually found them to be a better avatar than Byleth/Corrin/Kris (not a high bar, but it's unexpected for a warriors game).
Overall, I'd say it's worth checking out if you liked 3H.
Sounds good then, I did enjoy 3H a lot so it seems like I'll have a good time with Three Hopes too. I'll probably consider it if I ever see it on sale then.

Well, I can't speak for him, but I try to reach what I can without specifically spending thousands of orbs for it. There's also a minor increase in rewards, but that's admittedly a tiny difference.
You should at least aim for the 4 orbs in arena, but even that is becoming more painful.

Pretty much this, Arena is so annoying for regular players that they had to add the free 4* special to truly get people to come back. As to how effective that maneuver was, only time will tell. It worked on me, at least.

I really could've done without the implications that Fates takes place in the far distant past to Awakening rather than a different world entirely.

Dragons can't use Ruptured Sky, Vital Astra, or Godlike Reflexes. Blue Flame is your best bet, and it isn't that great.
Also I'd personally go for Dragon's Ire, since she has no follow-ups otherwise.
Definitely Dragon's Ire, other than that and Blue Flame as the only "premium" special she can learn, that's the set I'm aiming for but the only Distant skill I've gotten so far is Storm.

44 base speed is still either the highest or second highest base speed in the game iirc, and she gets +5 speed from her weapon, and an additional +8 speed during combat from her a slot prf.
She has about +20 invisible speed due to skills if they all proc. So she is really on ~70 speed when you take into account spd boon and all her skills boosting it.

I use 2 year 1 units and a year 2 unit as my 3 arena units and I don't really have much issues that often. Helps that my gay Chrom killer is a Canto horse. Hardest part is finding a match with the score I need since I'm just on the border of making it into T21 if I have enough merges on the bonus unit.

I had to use Anna as my bonus unit this week. I lost 12 points since she wasn't able to kill anything in my last fight, but it didn't matter since I can't make T21 with an Askr bonus unit anyway.
Not who you were talking to but I don't whale and didn't even start year 1 of this game and I do fairly well in arena. All you need to do well is to build a modern unit that is easily accessible like a grail or demoted 3/4* unit from the normal pool. I mostly chose to use grail units since I am guaranteed to get them as long as I have the resources.
To score well in arena you need a high BST(base state total) unit. These units tend to be any modern infantry units, armored units or duo units. Other things that affect the scoring are SP cost of a skil( the higher the SP needed to equip the skill the more score you will get, so using tier 4 skills and/or prf is essential), merges, blessings (matter only if you have a legendary unit on your squad and have your units equip the blessing that corresponds to the legendary hero during their week), and using a bonus unit.
With all of these things in order it is easy to maintain or at least ping pong between 18-21. Don't mind my scoring in pic, I tend to get top 1000 just didn't try this week since I am guaranteed to demote.
TLDR: Overview of doing well in Arena.

Update: After a total of 855 orbs spent, two more Chrom and two more Shez, I got my Myrrh.
Funnily enough, I also got 3 Claude and 3 Byleth just by rolling colorless when there were no blue orbs, but not a single Medeus. Dragons must hate me for some reason.
I think I'll insta-quit if I ever have to spend more than 800 orbs for a single unit again.

Releasing two popular resplendents in succession would be even more wasteful for IS. People will buy the pass for B!Lucina anyway, they can save the other popular picks for a later month and put another Gordin-tier nobody right after them.
Also keep in mind that every literal who has a small devoted following that might never buy the pass unless their precious favorite gets an alternate costume+stats. By sprinkling unpopular resplendents here and there, IS ensures that even those fans will try the pass sooner or later, and they might even keep buying it just for the QoL improvements.

Okay, I know I initially swore off Summoner Duels but I've been giving it a try with Legendary Wood, Ninian (to activate Vision of Arcadia), Duo Thorr, Brave Edelgard, and Ascended Mareeta, the latter three all matching Atk stats so they all get Bonus Doubler, Null Panic, and Canto 1. It's been kinda neat actually, even if I still don't quite like, get it. It's just nice to have somewhere I can mess around with these set ups, maybe that's the point of the mode and all.
Bonus doubler team stack is my favourite meme right now.

I think Fae's probably still easier to merge up if you need like, a scorebot, which I use mine for. However I do agree that in terms of pure support, Nah just kinda dunks on the chicken, where even just a one off copy will be more than enough. Still pretty wild how fast the turnaround is between her getting her refine and her being accessible as a Forma.
I got mine with Inf. NFU since that's a pretty rare skill so I can't wait for the Formas to be available, and I can keep trying to get better skills on F Grima in the mean time.

For some reason it hadn't crossed my mind that people in the esports mode would be using esports builds. Like I expected one mega invested unit per team, not a full squad of them (minus legendary support).
The people playing Book 3 and prior are the ones that have multiple +10s fully invested. The probably did it for Arena/Aether raids and just changed the builds to fit in SD.

Sadly this applies to a TT in a nutshell, which is part of why I started tuning out the TT stories. I gave Ice and Fire a chance since it seemed they wanted to experiment with placing main story content in a side mode, but even compared to the low standards I had for it, I was let down by it.
And while this isn't strictly related to what we were talking about, I really hated this year's ninja paralogues when they gave Laevatein shit for wanting her sister (who she watched die, even if they retconned the death) to spend some time with her for the festival, just to make Fjorm look good by making her suggest they all go together. It felt so... manufactured.

Alternate Lif/Thrasir were recruited by Thorr to form the Legion of Doom, and then they recruited our Plum/Triandra, and haven't been seen since.
Now we have our Lif/Thrasir back alive, doing only god knows what.
I only assume they completely dropped that plot point. Needless to say, stories about "unlimited universes" are always moronic and filled with tons of plot holes.

IIRC Lif was brought back by Ganglot to kill Eir, Eir started losing, but Ymir merged with Eir to save her from dying. the new Eir had Ymir living insider her as a tulpa, and they defeated Lif. The rest plays out the same, but I have no idea where Thrasir came from.
Thrasir is a accessory to Lif, it's funny how she appears in FB to shill rearmed weapon.
It's funny that IS tries to create some sort of plot with the Arcane weapons that they know will never be finished. I still can't figure out if it is the version of Lif/Thrasir we fight in book 3, the pair at the end that randomly hook up with Thorr to fight us, or some pair we summon. that doesn't even account for whatever happened in Eir's TT story.
I haven't actually paid any attention to these storylines

It's too early to even say with a confident guess. So far the only rearmed heroes FEH has comes from the book 3TT story with Rearmed Lif/Ganglot. my guess is that most FEH rearmed heroes will come from TT stories, so Thrasir might get one if she shows up in book 4 TT.
The next one would be Triandra and Freyr if beast are allowed to get one, there is no place for a book 3 hero in a special TT focused on book 4
I guess Triandra and Plumeria would then be reasonable candidates for the Arcane Blue and Green tomes then

unlikely. While still to early to say for sure, both book2/3 TT followed a similar formula. with 2 new characters, and 2 characters from the book. the characters from the book were the free OC, and an antagonist of some sort.
My guess is Ascended Peony, Triandra, and 2 new characters. Beasts will get a rearmed eventually, probably from Nilah.
We will see, I can see him and Fafnir getting in feh because of the shitty attempt of a TT story.

unsure on the state of beasts, but Fujin Yumi is a PRF, it got a refine, and was still shit. Beasts will get an arcane weapon because IS has decided not to do a second round of refines, and even beast weapons will eventually fall behind. It might not happen right away, but It will likely happen IMO. the only reason it might not happen is because beast PRFs seem tailored to a playstyle.

I wonder if IS will just keep releasing better Arcane weapons than pervious ones, or at least ones that are for different types of units. At some point arcane weapons might not be enough to keep up with whatever powercreep PRFs exist, and at the same time IS can't release inheritable weapons more/as powerful because that would lessen the appeal of rolling for arcane weapons.

Pretty good. Distant Counter/Ruptured being "just okay" skills nowadays feels really weird though.
I'm honestly a bit disappointed I ran out of orbs trying to +10 Snowthis (currently have enough to +8). Almost every circle I got had like 1 green orb per circle, then nothing for like 7 or more circles. Ironically the 3H cast seemed to want to body block my progress. Also seemed to have wasted a ton of luck here since every Sothis was either Atk or Spd boon with the exception of 1 which was res boon.

Spent a little over 600 orbs, technically not enough to finish needing 7 merges but was banking on luck. The last two merges killed me since I was pity broke by Constance-Hilda in quick succession but I guess I can't complain too much since some were units I was planning to already +10 or units with fodder I would have gotten in the future for some of my units.
Continued summoning after collecting a few more uncollected orbs and this game seems to be giving me every 3H unit on green save for Sothis. I pulled a Shamir. I only want one more copy since I can wait next month during the refine month to get the last copy with Jan. orbs.
So did we come to a consensus on whether Shez's best IV was atk or spd?
I'd go with Atk if you're not going to floret her, but she's definitely one of the units that REALLY wants a Floret.

I'm shocked they didn't make them a Beast unit, in fact, they're the only non Beasts on the banner.
I'm also surprised they didn't make the C skill an unholy fusion of Opened Domain and Severence. I honestly expected them to go completely off the wall and give us the most ridiculous Beast that combined the best aspects of both Askr and Embla.
But here there's really nothing from Embla in this Duo. Maybe that's fitting, seeing as how she shuts herself out and all, or maybe they were somehow actually scared of making Severence 2 (or even just releasing another unit with Severence, one that can be in any season).

The AoE Special Spiral is neat enough for me to want her, but I still wish at least one of these problems didn't exist (mainly the shield pulse one. I wish she had turn 1 special cooldown charge like other units get). Makes me feel like Vital Astra would be better for her since she can always have it charged like Mareeta.
