>fitgirl repack
>2 BSOD in a row
>limiting RAM usage fixes the issue but now it's from 3 hour install to 6 hour install
>mfw 32gb of RAM
This is what Gaben was talking about when he said that piracy is a service problem.
10 years ago I was pirating 80% of my games, nowadays I just buy a CD key for 1/3rd of the full price, install any sized game in about 5-15 minutes and start playing.
The sheer speed and convenience just snuffs out piracy completely.
And for those fags who think they're clever with >b-b-b-but you don't own anything
Majority of the games I own ( yes, OWN ) I can just move onto an external hard drive and play on a different computer through the .exe, no internet needed.
It's your problem you play FOMO multiplayer always online garbage.
your CPU is garbage and you downloaded a comprimised file from a honeypot site.
my CPU is brand new Ryzen 7
the file is from sukebei and there's hundreds of people vouching for the file AND I've scanned it with 3 different programs
I used to have one bad RAM stick that caused BSOD's and I had it replaced with brand new ones that have worked for 2 years now without hitches, it's this pirated game install that's the first thing ever to cause an issue, I sadly use chrome, which is a massive memory hog, a BSOD might not occur if I didn't launch chrome at all.
>I've scanned it with 3 different programs
Lol I remember when I was a paranoid schizo, those were the days.
Do a memtest anyway. You shouldn't be getting BSODs at all. The sloppiest of software is really good at stressing your PC in obtuse ways which could reveal some hardware problems you might not have been aware of but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
Your RAM might be going bad buddy.
Next time, don't download the repack that's 4% smaller but takes 13 hours to unpack.
The game is 124GB
the repac was 45GB
Listen to . This one is all on you.
did you not read
I did. The point is FitGirl repacks are way overcompressed and should only be used by those who's still cursed with low internet speed or data caps. Otherwise the time investment is simply not worth it, especially if you take potential failures into account. There are numerous other repackers out there and 99% of them use much more sensible compression settings.
>shit that never happened for 500 Alex
Gabe is a dumb piece of shit. The only thing stopping piracy is multi-player and denuvo. kys steam shill. No one will miss you
which game? doom eternal? i noticed a lot of people in the comments complaining it was slower than normal. i ran it when i went to bed so i didnt even notice.
Honey Select 2 - Libido
Your problem is downloading repacks you fucking retard
EVER HEARD OF ISOs?????????
Every single time this thread comes up it’s always someone that went with the fake site(s) or have shit components
post your longest times and cpu when installing one of this chud's repacks.
AC6 - 58mins - 12600k
The timer dropped to 3 hours in the low RAM usage around 15% completion, cpu is R7 3700x
then I got a third BSOD, all three have had a different error messages, but once I googled them, they all are under the same umbrella of reasons
something is off, either it's my chrome with +500 tabs open or some computer part is the culprit
i guess this is tech support general.
what should i be looking at if running any new-ish game freezes the PC after 3~5 mins?
some observations:
ancient games run without problems
running newer games in windowed fullscreen instead of dedicated fullscreen works fine on some titles but not all
no BSOD or shutdown, pc just locks up and needs hard reboot.
Check your temps before the PC freezes
mIght be GPU related issues
I had 1080ti for +5 years, it still had factory thermal paste, my temps started to rise, games started to run worse and I would get either hard freezes, drivers would shut down randomly or the whole computer went black screen and I had to reboot
replacing the paste fixed the issues, but I sold the card to buy equivalent AMD card to test whether they're any good, drivers are kinda bad but been happy so far
hrm. i don't think it's a temperature issue but i will test more pointedly.
Tough to tell without your essential component list, but I’d check CPU usage and temps. Most times if it’s freezing it’s CPU related. If you have an SSD and a hard drive and you are pulling from both at the same time (steam or other platform on HDD, game on SSD) that will also cause issues sometimes for newer games
>but I’d check CPU usage
i did have task manager open for a couple crashes and usage wasn't maxed out. maybe a high of 60%.
>if you have an SSD and a hard drive and you are pulling from both at the same time (steam or other platform on HDD, game on SSD)
this is certainly the case for a couple titles, but i do run most of my games from HDD.
as the other guy says, check CPU/GPU temps and power usage. Depending on what cpu/gpu you have even your powersupply could be getting fucked. Try running benchmarking software to stress your shit, so you can dismiss the game being the problem.
>inb4 running a top tier cpu + top tier gpu on a 600w bronze PSU
use DODI repacks, it's superior in every way.
is DODI RE4 demake updated or its the same version empress released?
I only download chud girl repacks when there is no other option.
The install makes your pc unusable for 6 hours.
well. neither furmark nor burnintest have managed to crash the PC.
100% cpu doesn't seem to go above 32 degrees, 100% GPU doesn't seem to go above 60*
guess I'll try running a game next
