Fix the fighting genre by adding RPG progression and mook enemies / bosses. The must fun I've had with one was SC3 Tales of Souls mode, it felt like a real videogame that I played to become stronger Stat wise, gain new weapons or skills. That's how you make them good solo player games instead of just pvp simulators.
The Bouncer?
I wish I could add more but I just completely agree with you. Soul Calibur has always been my favorite fighting game series. 3 was probably the best one. Has best Siegfried and Yoshimitsu designs as alts.
>Fix fighting games by making them hack and slash games
>the only way for these ""people"" to enjoy fighting games is to not make it a fighting game
fucking kills me every time
It's not a hack and slash you dipshits, you face the mooks in a standard 1v1 fighting environment, same as any other Soul Calibur story mode.
Why do you idiots love watching numbers go up so much?
So that me playing it on day 1 isn't the same as day 8. Also, I don't remember everything it had (it was like 15 years ago) but I mentioned you could gain more stuff than just stats.
New combos, magic, weapons, whatever. It's more fun when your run might not be the same as someone else's.
Day 8 sword might be a different colour and do more damage but it's the same as Day 1 sword. I don't think we need 1000 weapons that you use a few times before swapping it for a higher stat one.
Unlocking new combos and weapons would be a mess to balance. Did you forget how busted SoulCalibur III was?
I'm in agreement that some kind of lengthy single player mode would be nice but I don't think stats and disposable content is the way to do it.
I think what you want is an action game like Ninja Gaiden. Maybe a hack and slash game made by Platinum Games starring Mitsurugi.
Fighting games are a genre about getting good, not grinding to create an illusion that you're good.

I understand the sentiment but...yeah know, I like when my fighting games are ya know...fighting games, and they already have enough problems with balance RPG systems would be retarded and how would you justifiably seperate that from the multi-player mode without making it feel weird and disjointed
Only thing needing a fix is mentally weak rats like you. Stop being a bitch and play.
>Ganker the board plagued with smashpedos talking about fighting games
>it's fucking retarded
every time
fighting games threads on Ganker that aren't focused on setting up lobbies or whatever tend to have the most misinformed and insane opinions and views on fighting games I've ever seen
Look I just got bored to tears playing Fighterz and need to vent
>and need to vent
I feel like the majority of people replying to this thread haven't actually played SCIII and are completely misunderstanding what OP was asking for.
It's still a fighting game.
This mode was kino also introduced a ton of custom weapons like lances
>fighting games need to be fixed
You fuckers have been saying this for the last two decades. They're still making them and been selling fine and in the last several of years, been rising in popularity.
SF6 made a RPG mode and a neat little character creator but it was still also being used as a tool to teach players how to actually play fighting games and encourage players to go into the PVP part
Doesn't the new mortal kombat have a rpg mode?
Also injustice 2 and mortal kombat 11 have a gayass gear&grind system with various effects that make the numbers go up
>Inb4 "NOOOOO I DON'T LIKE THOSE"
.... You're right I don't like those. The games still feel like typical fighting games with tacked on items.

WTF I actually got that game for free on PS plus. Time to stop playing Persona 4 Arena and install it.
>make fighting games not fighting games
ZOOM ZOOM
Absolver had the perfect fighting game formula, shame it didn't catch on.
>too good at fighting games to play with friends
>not good enough for online

>Fix the fighting genre by adding RPG progression and mook enemies / bosses
You don't understand arcade games
Play an RPG
persona 4 ultimax has an rpg mode you'll like
... I installed Grand Blue and then found out p4 Arena already had one, kek
it's been pretty fun, this is what I like.
Kill enemies, allocate my stats, get new powers, choose my support skills. Cool things.
SC3 not being multiplat was such a huge fucking blunder
I still can't wrap my head around that decision. They literally had a massive fanbase on Gamecube because of Link being in SC2.
Also sex with Sophitia in missionary position.
Snoy payed for exclusivity so blame them.
I thought we'd be talking about Chronicles of The Sword, not Tales of Souls...strange.
Anyway just buy SF6 and play World Tour.
Actually I fucked up the name, I meant Chronicles. I just half remembered it and Google suggested Tales of Souls so I went with that for the thread.
Chronicles of the Sword ironically killed this game. Search Soulcalibur 3 memory card corruption.
>buy sf6
let me guess your pronouns anon
It's chad/chud
Thought the same lmao I thought Ganker had agreed to never touch it
Fighting games are just basketball for nerds.
What did you say bro?
Isn't this Dark Souls?
Started new subgenre and beat fighting games on their own field.
