Personally I'd go;
WA (Perth) - Water
NT (Darwin) - Ground
SA (Adelaide) - Poison
QLD (Townsville) - Fighting
QLD/NSW (Coolongatta-Tweed Heads) - Electric
NSW (Newcastle) - Steel
VIC (Melbourne) - Fairy
TAS (Hobart) - Bug
Have Canberra be the League especially since it's already in a mountainous area apt for a Victory Road. Have Brisbane and Sydney be very large cities without gyms but with many other important elements and probably some sort of plot relevant stuff whether that's the Prof's Lab or Villain's HQ, etc.
I think with such a region though it'd be interesting to have some sort of two-scale travel, like you'd have your normal Routes and Dungeons particularly along the East Coast from Capetown to Hobart and maybe hooking around to Adelaide and then also around Perth, Port Hedland, Broome and Darwin and maybe something around Alice Springs, but I think it'd be interesting to have a sort of macro-travel for the rest of the region to really exemplify just how vast the region really is, like some combination of the Wild Area and Soaring from ORAS with side locations and little one-off settlements you can visit, the best way I can describe it is how the earlier Final Fantasy games would use the overworld to present travelling great distances but would have more intricate and detailed layouts for particular areas of interest. It'd probably be something unlocked a bit later in the game though, like probably around the time in other games you get Surf which would in this game make more sense as an earlier acquisition since most places would have surfable locations but not really need it as a means of accessing new areas (outside of maybe exaggerating the Murray-Darling)
>Far North Queensland with a myriad of grass and water types in the rainforests >Fire types filling central Australia >steel types in the metropolitan buildup around knock-off Sydney >Flying types all over the great open plains >mythical creature in Tasmania.
Man I wish they’d make a region on us already.
Sound about right, or you could go a more obvious route: >Water - Platypus (starts as Platypup, ends as Obdurodon [giant platypus]) >Fire - Kangaroo (starts as wallaby, ends as giant Kangaroo) >Grass - Wombat (starts as wombat, ends as Diprotodon)
Koala is another option for Grass, end up as a drop bear. But that would be a good two stage pokemon rather than starter
What I would love is to find some ice types in a desert for a change. Deserts get cold as frick at night. Make a Simpson Desert knockoff that has nocturnal ice types.
True, but theres also Mount Bulla to consider, could use that as a snow region, not that I think every pokemon game needs one.
Another possibility is to have Ice Types on the southern coast, after all Fairy Penguins are a thing. Could make for a cute Fairy/Ice type Pokemon. Also some Water/Ice Whales, maybe a regional Wailmer.
It barely snows there given the low altitude in most parts. That's why I think Mt Buller would work well, have it be like a snowboarding resort themed town to a cable car system to reach it.
If you've ever been to Waratah, that'd be a pretty cool snowy town. They have a waterfall and inn (that's about it) but it snows consistently each winter.
for regional forms you could have like a ground/grass abomasnow for a bunyip/yowie
another cool one could be having regional variants for the Swords of Justice (since legendary trios seem not off limits to this treatment)
maybe change the fighting type to dark type and base them of famous bushrangers, and give them an ability similar to Justified but it activates from fighting moves instead.
would also be cool to have a split form evo for an ibis (probably mono poison at first), one where it becomes enlightened and gains a psychic type (the ibis is the animal that represents thoth), and another where it embraces its degenerate ways and become a dark type.
>Is split into two regions, due to the massive scale of the entire region. West Frontunda and East Frontunda.
>Starters are Fighting Cow, Psychic Sheep and Dark Pig. They aren't the native starters, but they're said to be regional forms of Pokemon that came from another western region centuries ago. They're also common Pokemon to be found throughout the region, as npc pokemon.
>Has connections to Galar region with lore.
>Introduces the concept of Domestic forms. Which are special forms that can be only obtained through breeding certain amount of times. Some certain Pokemon gain a new evo through this method.
>Corporate Evil Team who wishes to exploit the country of its people and resources. They assist with Galarian Evil Team in order to bring back the profits back to Galar, depleting the country of their profits. Uses Steel/Rock/Grass Pokemon
>Galarian Evil Team composed of monarchists, who have places in the government who aim to bring back the country back to Galar in order to restore the Galarian Empire. Uses Fairy/Psychic/Fighting Pokemon.
>aussie >with a town in the middle
aside from the maps scale being too small, the roads should be around the edge with the centre being harsh wilderness, mostly unexplorable until postgame
>there would have to be a massive overabundance of poison and ground types.
So Kanto
kanto has almost no poison types after viridian forest
Pretty much a third of Kanto is either Poison, Ground or both.
Grimer?
Koffing?
Ekans?
Bellsprout line?
Oddish line?
weak bait
There would also need to be lots of fire types in the south east region
Nono, we need india.
Australia isn't as deadly as Americans online like to think it is you don't get shot here
But Pokemon as a series is primarily about the wildlife, and that's what Australia is best known for.
WA - rock
NT - fire
QLD - water
SA - poison
TAS - ice
NSW - dark
ACT - grass
VIC - fairy
NZ - battle frontier
Pretty fair, people need to keep in mind that most of the "outback" isn't populated, most people live on the coasts.
Personally I'd go;
WA (Perth) - Water
NT (Darwin) - Ground
SA (Adelaide) - Poison
QLD (Townsville) - Fighting
QLD/NSW (Coolongatta-Tweed Heads) - Electric
NSW (Newcastle) - Steel

I feel like SA would be normal type. I'm also suprised by the lack of fighting types on that list.
>Far North Queensland with a myriad of grass and water types in the rainforests

Man I wish they’d make a region on us already.
Australia starters:
>water platypus that evolves into a furry
>fire tasmanian devil that evolves into a furry
>grass emu that evolves into a furry
Sound about right, or you could go a more obvious route:
>Water - Platypus (starts as Platypup, ends as Obdurodon [giant platypus])

Koala is another option for Grass, end up as a drop bear. But that would be a good two stage pokemon rather than starter
Making the starters into three of the most iconic and, well, common Australian animals seems like a bad idea to me. Way too predictable.
The kangaroo wouldn’t be fire / fighting.. right?
good. cause they're usually not a lot and are good types
Enjoy your ice region in Ayer's rock so.
What I would love is to find some ice types in a desert for a change. Deserts get cold as frick at night. Make a Simpson Desert knockoff that has nocturnal ice types.

Shouldn’t Tasmania be the snow region?
It barely snows there given the low altitude in most parts. That's why I think Mt Buller would work well, have it be like a snowboarding resort themed town to a cable car system to reach it.

Make New Zealand an area. They've got plenty of snowy mountains.
Regional bird is a noisy mynah that evolves into a masked lapwing, and then a magpie.
Getting angrier and angrier every time.
Unfathomably based to not give Melbournistan it's own city.
>Meanwhile in Tassie
underrated
Imagine a Two-Headed Devil, maybe as it evolves gaining the second head it also loses the fur around its face as a reference to that viral cancer.
imagine thinking Australia would ever be the inspiration for anything
It’s the inspiration for your seething at a harmless thread, mate.
>projecting this hard over reading an objective fact
Propose a better country to base a new Pokemon game on.
inspiration for mad max
Kek. Why is NSW dark type Anon?
it's the aussie capital of political corruption
North America
Ireland
SA
>North America
Unova, Orre, it's been done before
>Ireland
Too samey off the back 2 European regions.
>SA
Do you really want to give gf a reason to add more nog characters? Unless we get Poképartheid it's a terrible idea.

Dark type drop bear regional Komala that ambushes tourists from trees
Here's how a Aussie region should be.

Also spiders
lots of Ariados
>aussie

why do you hate the abos in alice springs
