I only want Sony to keep existing so the console wars continue. As long as it remains Xbox vs Playstation their attention won't turn to PC. As soon as that war concludes the victor will quickly turn their ire towards PC and work on raping it into the ground, something that basically failed as of a few years ago with all the different proprietary launchers finally dying but would absolutely see a resurgence once there wasn't anything else to focus on. M$ is the more likely victor and that's really worst-case scenario since they would then be running both the only real gaming console and the majority of the world's operating systems. Even if you're a linuxfag that just means they'll try even harder to push you out instead of mostly ignoring you. Without Sony's competition we'd end up seeing a total M$ monopoly on video games and that is not a world I want to live in.

That's what console wars are all about, monopoly. It's not "healthy competition", it's "choke your competitor to death so you can be the only option". I'm pretty sure any other big tech company would like to invest in Sony to keep at least Playstation alive. That even includes Microsoft. Remember, Microsoft invested in Apple in 1997 to save that company from bankruptcy and to prevent regulatory entities to control what they could do with the PC market if they were left alone.
Microsoft coexists with Steam peacefully, I mean Halo is on Steam after all. That coupled with W10 gaming PCs being glorified custom Xboxes I don’t see MS doing anything to ruin what’s already going smooth for them whereas Sony will just continue their cartoonishly evil bullshit.

I don’t think he’s doing anything illegal but he’s certainly raping his own brand with his actions.
No he can't because it's not at trial yet, so he can't perjure himself and Sony have made their stance to the UK and EU regulators that they want the deal blocked so he didn't lie. Where this hurts them is that regulators will now take into account that Sony refused to enter negotiations with Microsoft in good faith when they were offered a 10 year deal, contrary to what Sony has said earlier in the process (Where they said the 10 year deal MS offered wasn't good enough).
Also that sort of statement completely fucks them over with third parties trusting Sony on deals because now third parties will think "Sony's going to stab us in the back if we make a deal they don't like". So it was a bit of a "Fuck you" from Activision designed to have a wide reach to other publishers saying "This is what Sony will do if you make a deal they don't approve of". Which could have some interesting consequences down the line.
