      play the frickin game

It's called Mario Madness for a reason. It's abstract art. The idea of going into dreams and smoking mushrooms was actually copied from a book called the Wizard of Oz.

So nobody can answer the question. Got it.
Also, it's not specific to Mario, it's a general question with a relevant image.

It's called Mario Madness for a reason. It's abstract art. The idea of going into dreams and smoking mushrooms was actually copied from a book called the Wizard of Oz.

      >It's abstract art
Then why do you fricks take everything so literal.
      >Mario picture
      >This HAS to be STRICTLY about MARIO

lmfao at this angsty little homosexual throwing a trantrum because he died in a video game.
There are many ways you could get the answer to your question. I hope no one here gives you any.

Not him, but I can definitely answer your question in great detail, going into concepts like contextual clues and various other design techniques to convey the difference to the player. But he is right, you are an annoying b***h so frick that.

They did answer the question, in order to find out if a pit is dangerous or not you can either intentionally jump into it as a test or just assume it's a death pit and proceed as you are able. Both options require you to play the game yourself rather than being a cowardly child who is allergic to failure.

But we know that you die from falling into the gaps between platforms. The question is why. Does he hit the ground or is it an abyss?

He fights a Balrog and becomes Mario the White. but that happens offscreen.

That wasn't an abyss (in the movie) because there was a bottom at the center of the Middle Earth, iirc.

He falls into tunnels under the dwarven mines made by abyssal creatures that are older than Sauron

It's a movie, first off, so try to at least know a little of what you're talking about before you try to give advice.

No well he's right it was a book first, but it's actually based on Alice in Wonderland.

Okay technically the book the movie was based on was called "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" and not just "The Wizard of Oz."

usually it's pretty obvious, at least in mario 2. if it's really high up you won't be able to go much to the side. the very first screen you can't go to it at all.

The life loss music is what kills him. If he hears it, he dies.

So if I mute the TV I have infinite lives? I never thought to try that.

He can still hear it. Muting just closes the audio portal to your world.

The pits are neither infinite nor a void. There is ground below, but the area below is too high for Mario to escape from. See pic.

He falls below the screen into the bottom of the TV. There's live wires and vacuum tubes down there, you'd die for sure.

I definitely remember playing at least one game where the dangerous pits were indicated by smoke or something rising out of them but I can't remember what it was.

He gets killed when hitting the border of the TV, as do all video game characters when they attempt to leave the TV to reach the real world.
It's not fall damage either, the soullessness of the real world just outright hits them in the gut and obliterates them instantly.
