>game is fun
>get to the phazon mines
>all fun is gone
>get power bombs
>game let you get to some big ass room
>looks sus
>fuck around a bit
>game tells you to go all the fuck the way back up to tallon overworld to get get xray visor
>go there
>oh you need grapple to get over the jump which is back down in the fucking mines
>go to get it
>out of power bombs
>fuck around for 10 minutes trying to farm some
>get grapple
>go back through the mines AGAIN to tallon to get xray
>go through mines again
>go back to sus room
>see the hidden platforms
>make it through a few more big ass rooms fighting annoying metroids
>need fucking plasma beam
>have to go all the fuck the way back through the mines AGAIN
>go get plasma
>come back through the mines
>doors that have been opened once with an alternate beam dont turn into regular doors so there is constant beam swapping

youre supposed to get grapples immediately after getting power bombs before you leave the mines, and you're supposed to get both xray and plasma before you go back into it. this is a skill issie. git gud.
shoulda coulda woulda
But you don't need grapple to get x-ray visor?
>doors that have been opened once with an alternate beam dont turn into regular doors so there is constant beam swapping
I hate this shit so much
thats the problem the fucking game tells me to go get xray first
do you really just mindlessly follow the hint markers? grapple is literally right on the way out of mines.
how the fuck is anyone supposed to know this the first time?
I got it first time when I was a kid 🙂
what do you mean? you literally have to go INTO the room grapple is in to get to power bombs in the first place. you were ALREADY THERE. and you go BACK through that room on the way OUT of the mines. that means you missed seeing the obvious door and power bombable rubble TWO TIMES. how is that anyones fault but yours?
By consulting your map and seeing what nearby rooms you have yet to visit?
>consult map for rooms I haven't visited early in the game
>literally every fucking time it's a door that's blocked off by a later beam/other upgrade
>stop doing it
>"NOOOOO YOU WERE MEANT TO KEEP DOING IT UP UNTIL THE END OR THE GAME MAKES YOU WASTE EVEN MORE TIME!"
>Mindlessly following objective markers
Because on your first time in that room you should have explored enough to find the debris that you couldn’t destroy without power bombs so on your way back you explore more to get the grapple.
>Hmm, this wall is made of beryllium, but none of my weapons work on it, I'll keep a note for later
>Heeey I just got power bombs, and lookie here, I can destroy beryllium with them
>
Honestly the game becomes a lot more fun if you start taking screenshots of things you can't interact with. I did that with a few missile tanks and stuff pretty late to the game. For my next playthrough, I need to use X-ray more often.
>get ice beam
>hmmmm maybe I should follow these ice doors close by
>get led down to the sunken ship
>think its odd that its making me do so much underwater without the suit
>get as far as I can then the game tells me to go all the fuck the way to phendrana
>have to go through magmoor every time
>already saved in the sunken ship so cant just reload quickly
I fucking hate that you have not one, but TWO ice doors you can take right outside where you acquire the ice beam, and NEITHER of them is actually where you're supposed to go to progress
No, you're supposed to backtrack the exact way you came and go down back to magmoor then back up to phendrana to spiderball up to the ice door you can now open
What the fuck were they thinking?
Its especially egregious that once you jump down from the high entrance @ the frigate crash site, theres no way to climb back up either
They were really emulating Super Metroid's backtracking.
>this western kusoge has shitty world design
it's an elevatorvania, what did you expect?
>kusoge
Just a heads up but your dad hates you
>Its especially egregious that once you jump down from the high entrance @ the frigate crash site, theres no way to climb back up either
Yeah but to be fair you wouldn't want to, getting back to magmoor from tallon overworld is the faster than going back through chozo ruins.
imagine being this mad about being trolled by the developers because you didn't use your brain
Yeah the sunken ship is almost assuredly deliberate considering the extra aqua pirate spawns after the fact but players hate getting played
it was clearly designed to mislead you, they even give you an energy tank before telling you to fuck off
it's so fucking stupid how people complain that the world isn't 100% designed to cater to the player like you're god
that's what even makes it believable and fun to be in and explore
it's such a stupid complaint too because climbing back out of the ship even without gravity suit just takes a couple of minutes
I just realized the problem you're too retarded to be able to read a map. Fucking moron.
You don't have the map for Tallon Overworld at that point.
Are you serious, does the game do this?
Are there anons here defending this shitty game design decision? lmao
This seriously pissed me off and so did having to go through magmoor caverns 20 times. Are prime 2 and 3 also this bad when it comes to backtracking?
Echoes is more about a Light/Dark world shtick while mainly working in one major area at a time with some odd backtracks, Corruption is a similar deal what with travelling between planets and discovering more LZs for Samus's ship. There is sometimes some backtracking to a previous area for the next powerup.
The endgame of these games also have an equivalent artifact hunt you may be able to get parts of done on the way.
2 and 3 have fast travel
yes. it's great. i love metroid prime and banjo-tooie and wario land 3 and oracle of ages.
>elevator near by behind white door leading to gravity suit under water
>B-BUT THE GAME DIDN'T TELL ME EXACTLY WHERE TO GO HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW?!?!?!?!
This is why people are shitting on Resident Evil 4 remake right now, because retards like you exist and need hand holding. The game gives you a map you look at, which indicators on where you can or can't go that you can check yourself based on which weapons you have as well as a scanning visor to check your environment in any location you want yet you still fuck up this badly. You are the cancer that's killing video games as developers cater to your under developed brains
>because retards like you exist and need hand holding
No, my complaint was that the 2 new paths that the ice beam opened up do not organically flow into a path back to your main objective, which goes how prime usually handles its backtracking for the most part
After you beat Thardus, you don't just haul ass back in the direction you came, you use the powerup you just got to take a newly accessible shortcut that lets you quickly backtrack to a previous area to get a new powerup, and thats only one of many times the game does this
After replaying it via the remaster, I've probably done around 9 total runs? And theres a handful of segments in the game that kill the pacing a bit due to how they handle backtracking.
the path that takes you to the crashed frigate entrance actually is the fastest way back to magmoor and subsequently phendrana though.
Is it actually?
Every time I reach that point in a playthrough, I always open up the map and consider that route vs going back the way I came, and find myself deciding its faster to not go through the crashed frigate
I would open my game now to compare but I saved after beating the final boss on both my NM and HM runs so I can only use those files to start from scratch
Yes. the chozo ruins elevator takes you to the start of magmoor. But if you take the elevator back to tallon overworld instead (the one that drops you in front of frigate), you can then take the magmoor elevator thats right there, which takes you very near to the front entrance phendrana elevator, or you can go a little farther and go straight to the back entrance phendrana elevator which is where you need to go anyway
so after ice beami always do > tallon overworld > magmoor > phendrana
you don't go through the crashed frigate you ding dong, you go across the lake and then you're back at the ship and the elevator to magmoor and then the exact elevator to phendrana with the ice door is right there
>you don't go through the crashed frigate you ding dong
I didn't mean that, I was referring to room named 'frigate crash site' or something.
Skill issue. Lrn2navigate faglord
>want to go to the big sun room
>the vines are invincible to all beam weapons
>even plasma
>a fucking leaf
>you have to go all the way the fuck around
>no direct route to phendrana
>have to go through magmoor each time
the first save station in each area should be a fast travel dont @ me
phazon mines should have had 2 more ammo stations that fill all ammo and not just missiles or power bombs should regenerate 1 unit after a little bit
>navigating the dark research area in phendrana
>doors on ceilings
>those security drone assholes
the remaster thankfully has improved some of those sections thanks to instant door loading making it a lot safer to just rush through each room
fuck those drones locking the doors though
>chozo ghost harrasment
>the constantly spawning fission metroids in the impact crater
>just ignore them and run/focus on platforming
>dont make a jump if you hear one charging you
>when they do grab you just let them, power bomb, and carry on
>repeat till you're at the top
its easy
I don't wanna waste my power bombs
I'm autistic and like reaching Prime with full health and ammo
You literally don't need them for anything else beyond that point though. You could use it for prime phase 2 but you can also just hyperbeam them.
go back to sucking dicks on reddit
I'll suck your dick if you're not careful, buddy.
It's hilarious how the "METROID PRIME SUCKS!!" threads have returned and exploded after the remaster came out.
>game gets remastered
>people play it again and point out it‘s flaws
No way
Sucking at the game doesn't make it bad.
This game is piss easy. Being tedious doesn‘t make it hard
All Metroid games are tedious.
it being bad does make it bad tho
It isn't bad. It's simply not for you.
It's really easy to tell who has played the game and has actual critiques and who watched the trailer and are shitposting/shitting on the remaster over like 2 details missing.
>don't use hints
>don't make retarded decisions
There are legit issues though. You're right that there is some back and forth no matter what. Prime 2 is also guilty of this. Then you have the keys. Then Metroid Prime's fight is a slog. Still, excellent game overall.
>Metroid Prime's fight is a slog
phase 2 is a slog and a huge waste of time, because that's all it is: literally just waiting for the puddles. phase 1 is very, very fun though.
Phase 1 is a perfect end boss encounter.
Phase 2 is boring and stupid.
why the fuck does prime phase 2 only have one attack?
why is there no escape sequence?
>why is there no escape sequence?
There is an escape sequence.
no playable one, retard
Don't forget that Phase 2's one attack is just the quake elite pirates, omega pirate, and ridley uses.
The game in general is massively lacking in enemy and attack variety.
filtered
I beat the entire game without getting a single etank or missile and I only died once in the mines
get fucking good
Normal Mode or Hard Mode?
normal, for the time being
honestly seeing how it takes eight fucking charge shots to kill wave pirates or 50 missiles with the wavebuster I'm put off from playing hard mode at all again, much less do this type of shit
only having 5 missiles is more of a handicap than the energy tanks
I'm not letting you gays find where I upload my vidya screenshots
wrong reply
also have another screenshot
>Ganker filename
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
You say this like its an accomplishment?
I played Hypermode and dying in Metroid Games is more of a consenting choice, not really a challenge
>hypermode
>trilogy wiibabby who didn't actually beat the game with no pickups pretends he can say anything
lol
lmao
I beat the game in Hardcore, Prime 1 and 2 in my gamecube as a kid, then the Trilogy in Hypermode with PrimeHack
What competitive games have you played that you feel the Metroid series is a place of challenge?
Do you even realize that the main devs are Retro studio complained the game was too easy?
No one gets filtered by a Metroid game, what happens is that they get frustrated by some of the bad level design choices and don't feel its worth the effort. Not a skill issue.
beat the game with no pickups if it's so easy then
oh wait you can't lol
I have, this game ins't a challenge bro
Let it go
post proof
oh wait you don't have any LOL
I've beaten Metroid Prime games docen of times each, I am not dusting off my gamecube to show you my savegames
lol
Anyone with half a brain knows Metroid ins't a hard game, but if thats the hill you want to die on, go ahead
>tfw still have my original saves
>took me 36 hours to 100% the first prime
>Game was hard when I was a clueless kid getting my first gaming experiences
Not to shit on your childhood memories but, come on dudes. The fact we could all beat it as a kid shows you its an easy game
I took an ungodly amount of time just to beat the game but I also fucked around a lot and ignored the hints to explore and get items
>all that and only 78% items
anon...
I'll finish up another day. I marathoned the game and neglected my sleep all weekend, I got addicted
Now I don't feel as bad for taking 20 hours to beat MP2 a while back.
I don't even think I 100%'d it.
Tallon Overworld in general has the best atmosphere in the game.
>that setting
>that rain
>both themes
I will say, the first time through Metroid Prime on gamecube as a kid under 12 years old was pretty hard with the combat sections and lack of "handholding" in terms of where to go. Now so many games copy the game design and up the difficulty that playing it is a fun theme park ride of a Metroid game instead of a challenging experience.
My least favourite part is the Phazon mines aswell, mostly because of the stupid colored space pirates. It feels so cheap.
They couldn't do anything more fun with the beamplay besides ''Use the right beam color''
they would be more fun if they didnt highlight how garbage wave beam is
Wave troopers are the easiest to stunlock because of the wave beam though. Plasma are still the easiest just because they don't have more HP to compensate for the plasma beam's high damage output. Ice troopers got a big buff by no longer being vulnerable to missiles.
stunlocking doesnt change the fact that they take a billion years to kill because both the wave beam and its beam combo does no fucking damage. plus i can stun ice troopers just fine freezing them and that beam/its combo actually does damage
you know you can power bomb beam pirates right
but not until you actually get power bombs.
That's a quick way to blow all your power bombs. And there's nothing worse in Prime than running out of them when you need to clear an obstacle. I swear this game gets stingy with power bombs to the point where it's faster to go back to the ship and refill instead of waiting for an enemy or crate to give you one.
no it isn't
all the pirates will always swarm you, so you can just nuke them all at once
that's what I did in the omega pirate fight
Yeah, its true
The hyper missile upgrade for it its retarded to
Consumes so many missiles, and the paralysis effect ins't even AOE
I don't even know why they bother adding it into the game, its pretty much useless
>order from amazon last monday when they had the restock
>"Your shipment will arrive 3/13"
>today
>"There was a delay. Your shipment will arrive 3/20"
This shit is just going to keep going back for a month isn't it?
A lot of these backtracking issues would be more bearable if killing enemies was actually fun like in Super Metroid, there was something really satisfying about exploding and avoiding enemy attacks in Super, or blitzkrieg right through them with the speed booster that they couldn't translate into the 3D series
Moving around and exploring in Dread feels so much better
I just wish they had given the option to go into first Person view in Dread to scanning lore out of the walls and get more immerseved in the environments momentarily
That'd have been peak
>I just wish they had given the option to go into first Person view in Dread to scanning lore out of the walls and get more immerseved in the environments momentarily
You don't want that.
To scan OPTIONAL lore and admire the enviroment? YES.
FORCED on you to progress the game? NO
Respawning enemies works fine in 2D Metroids, but in Prime it feels weird and bad.
Its cause theres no challenge or fun to it, but it makes sense when you listen to the dev interviews
The reason the sand crabs keep going underground is cause the Gamecube literally didn't have enough raw power to render more enemies at a stable FPS
So are never overwhelmed, and when you are it feels lame cause the shooter mechanics are lame and very basic
Shit like the spazer/wave beam/shine spark and such in the 2D games allows you to clear out everything in your path instantly so backtracking through rooms with respawned enemies in a non issue. The same cant be said for 3D metroid where the only way to kill multiple enemies at once is power bombs which you dont get till near the end of the game
Or you can just ignore them.
On the other hand, it's much easier to just walk around enemies in a 3D environment and there are very few instances in Prime where you can't just stroll through the rooms you're backtracking through
How do you have a hard time with this type of game? There's even a hint system for fuck's sake.
Are those invisible floating platforms in the Phazon mine actually there before you get the X-ray visor or do they only spawn in after you gey it?
They're always there.
>looks sus
I wish controllers still hand wires so you could have a nice day
mp4 when
>>game tells you to go all the fuck the way back up to tallon overworld to get get xray visor
>He played with hints
Maybe you should have remembered that destroyed ruble blocking the switch that rotated the central column in that one room in the phazone mines
posting in a zoomer thread
>doors that have been opened once with an alternate beam dont turn into regular doors so there is constant beam swapping
This is a real gameplay flaw with prime
I have to agree with you, I wish doors would turn normal once activated by a beam. But then again, that'd remove 99% of the reasons to beam swap outside the Prime Boss or the Coloured coded pirates...
there shouldn't be beam swapping. in all other metroids beams stack
Beams change with one press of the D-pad
If you had to pause and change the beam type like Super, it would be an issue, but it's a single press of a button you don't even need to break stride to press
Metroid Prime has to be the only game I played where getting a Flamethrower feels unfun
>Consumes all your missiles
>Barely does any damage
>Area of Effect doesn't matter cause you barely fight more than 2 enemies at once or where the range is close enough to make it useful
at least the base beam is OP as fuck, which is a lot more than you can say about wavebuster
The wavebuster is great against this fucker and fun to use on wave pirates
>this fucker
just manual aim and you can kill him in like two super missiles
>fun to use on wave pirates
>"you want to kill a wave pirate on hard mode? using the wave buster?"
>"that'll be 40+ missiles. plus tip"
>"oh and it takes roughly 20+ seconds or so, so have fun avoiding damage from all the other enemies while you wait for it to die"
It's faster to kill him with the wavebuster than super missles and the other stuff on hard mode is easily avoided
Unironically seems like a skill issue on your part
>It's faster to kill him with the wavebuster than super missles
that is flat out false unless you have shit aim
>Unironically seems like a skill issue on your part
how is the fact that the wavebuster does roughly the same dps as just spamming charged shots a skill issue? is there some sort of special tech i dont know about to make it do more damage? its unironically fucking worthless.
Don't bother, a lot of people put Metroid in a pedestal cause they played the game as kids to cope with their parents divorce and other shit
>that is flat out false unless you have shit aim
>normal mode
in case youre wondering why im replying with
>normal mode
its because the sentry dies in ONE super missile on normal mode
>that is flat out false unless you have shit aim
the motion of aiming a super missles takes a second if you charge up the wavebuster and fire it as you fall into the room he dies pretty much instantly
it's what i've seen speedrunners do so it must be faster
do speedrunners do 100% hard mode? cant find one on youtube. would have to be 100% otherwise they wouldnt bother getting wavebuster
he means the one at the beginning of the game
If anyone has it would have been JustinDM
Should have made the Wavebuster act likt the Physgun in half life, so you can stunt and yeet a pirate into another for shit and giggles
Wavebuster is a massive waste of missiles.
Idk, it's pretty useful on Hard mode to deal with Wave Troopers and purple Metroid Prime
just powerbomb them
Yeah, it's bizarre how bad it is considering that by the time you're supposed to get it the game is already pretty much over
Might as well have made it stupidly overpowered
>doors that have been opened once with an alternate beam dont turn into regular doors so there is constant beam swapping
Not OP, but this is probably the only complaint I actually have. I love the game other than that
Finished the game recently, was appalled by the amount of backtracking, like holy shit, could we at least have a teleport to the teleporter or some shit? 90% of the time I spent on this game was just traversing the terrain.
Dread is more your speed then.
Why are you so insecure about a videogame? The game isn't all that bad, but having to waste so much time just walking through the stages is just bad game design, it's boring as fuck. And I don't mean to get rid of ALL backtracking, but making some of it more bearable with a teleport to elevators would make the game 999999x better.
Just accept its a 20 year old game, and even the Devs got burnt out with the Prime cause they wanted more tech so they could turn Metroid into a better game. Feeling gimped and creatively limited by Tendis overzealous watch and GameCub/Wii (Almost same performance) was a drag for the team
If Metroid was allowed to be made in a modern Engine, for a modern platform (Or hell, even PC) we'd get most amazing Metroid Prime to date without a doubt
it was released in 2002, back when game developers didn't realise that lootboxes and double xp weekends were able to sell videogames, so its a slower kind of game
I enjoyed playing remastered with motion controls.
You'd make a great speedrunner
I enjoyed playing it in 2k with mouse and keyboard in my PC
It figures that the children of today who've spent all their time playing gachas and mindless games like Fortnite and Overwatch would struggle with a game that doesn't have ADHD and makes you think.
I’m a Metroid Stan to the max, Super is the greatest game I’ve ever played personally outside of maybe re4 and I wholeheartedly fucking agree. Dropped it a little after where you are and idegaf.
>I’m a Metroid Stan to the max
>Metroid Stan
>Stan
>cum suit image
Nice larp
>metroid stan to the max
>dropped metroid prime.
Get the fuck out of here. Come back when you have 100% every game in the series, then you MIGHT be able to consider yourself a "metroid stan to the max"
Echoes and Corruption are WAY better than MP1. I respect how ambitious it was but the sequels polished up a lot.
This is the dumbest box art I've ever seen.
Why is there another Samus melting off of her? Is it supposed to be her corrupted form? Is it supposed to be Dark Samus even though she's right there?
if it was dark samus the arm cannon would be on the other side
it's her reflection
It ins't
She's also wearing a suit that she stops using right after the opening sequence.
I agree, its so racist
Why is Metroid being Black a bad thing????
>prime 3
the whole game was underwhelming to.
Meanwhile
>pic related
Best box art of any game ever
goes well, because prme 2 is my favorite game of all time
I think 2 isn't as good as you think it is.
Corruption is shit and zoomies aren't ready for Echoes if Prime 1 is giving them conniptions. Was funny watching that dumbass maximilliondood have like 20 missiles at Thardus of all places though
The combat in this game is really bad.
This, it doesn't even hold up to Doom or Halo's combat.
Originally, the devs intended for Samus to become corrupt if she overused the Hyper Beam. This addded an element of ''Shit, I could really use that sweet power up to decimate these fucking enemies right now'' but that powerlust would be payed by forcing you into a fully playable, alternative ending where instead of fighting Dark Samus, you would team up with her to kill a New Galactic Federation.
Upon realization, the Galactic Federation would green-lit their secret research project as a line of last defense.
Cyborg based off the salvaged parts of Samus Original Suit before it got destroyed by Dark Samus in the intro.
Adding just that piece of art and poetry into it, where Samus didn't just turn evil, but she killing her own old suit, and all she stood for.
Sadly, this idea was cut out by Nintendo cause the idea of Samus ever being evil or players having consequences for their actions beyond a little ''death screen'' made Nintendo's low Testosterone overseers squirm like little gays
Would have also been the end of the Metroid franchise.
Plenty of games have false or non cannon endings to add to the consequences of your actions, so no it wouldn't have been the end
but tbh, with the direciton MP4 is heading you are going to wish they had ending ''Prime'' with MP3 and went off with a completely new thing with new stories
MP4 is going to make the whole saga even more retarded
>Oh shit Sylux stole a Metroid!!!
>He is going to make....
wait for it!!
>A METROID PRIME :OOOO
BROOO DUDEEE YOOO, METROID PRIME IS BACK BABEEEEE
You played the game already?
No, but this was revealed to me in a dream
I would hate for them to reintroduce Phazon. We literally went to Phaaze in Metroid Prime 3 and destroyed the source of Phazon. If Metroid Prime 4 was just more "the first person adventures of Samus Aran, some bounty hunters, and the space pirates" again with a different mcguffin mechanic/plot device, I'd be happy with that.
Metroids were extinct in SM until they weren't and then again in Fusion until they weren't and then again in Dread until they weren't.
>and then again in Dread until they weren't
Of course they're not extinct. Samus is the ultimate warrior.
I doubt they'll bring Phazon back, but since in Metroid Hunters all the dudes were obsessed with acquiring power (Including Samus), I imagine the most likely scenario is Sylux stealing a Metroid to create another Queen to serve the pirates under his Command
I can't imagine Nintendo going too creative with the plot
Hopefully they do something new because I don't care about anything from Hunters.
Call me out if I am wrong, but expecting creativity or risky creative decisions coming from one of the most comformist countries in the entire world seems naive
I'll be happy if I am proven wrong anyway, I want Metroid to be fun and succeed
Wrong. Sylux is going to make a Metroid Queen
I know cause the egg color for the baby metroid is Green, and thats only cannon in SR388. Only SR388 Metroids can transform to Metroid Queens
In other words, you guys are admitting that prime 2 is better
Metroid Prime 2 was always better, was anyone that questioned that?
Echoes does have an awesome miniboss there.
Prime 2 has some of the best music in the series.
I'm still pissed that Sakurai didn't put Dark Samus' theme into Smash Ultimate.
>zoomers actually want fucking teleporters in a game built around exploring an interconnected and believable world
holy fuck video games are doomed
it literally takes less than ten minutes to go from one side of tallon 4 to the other
Thats why devs add hand holding what a dam shame and playing prime 2 will kill these kids lol
>believable world
I love this game
>two separate buttons perform charge/dodge
>enemies anticipate pinpoint grenade landings
>ai knows when you have no ammo or fighting chance
>must wait a minute to respawn with co-op
>teammates stand over your body and stare at enemy ai without action
>2 second cutaway sequences before and after each mission and cinematic
>unnecessary invisible walls on maps designed for mantling - half the map can't be mantled
>enemies have sporadic health/shield and bullet path manipulation
>can't play co-op on the same console, must have game pass ultimate now to play even if you purchased the game
>run here, push this, stay alive, shoot bad guys good
>hidden pathways to run past major battle sequences
WGAI
Um wrong thread?
Why does everyone wank over Prime 2 now? I remember people weren't too thrilled with it when it came out, mostly because of the beam ammo and difficulty.
beam ammo and difficulty are fine, i dont get why people hate 1's backtracking more than 2's though. i think they're both really bad about it at points.
I've always liked Echoes the most out of the trilogy. Difficulty is just right, ammo system is no problem, and the areas of Aether are fun to explore.
Contrarians. Prime 2 at launch on Gamecube was a mess. The dark world/light world mechanic was tedious, the aesthetics were drab, and the game had a literal casual filter difficulty spike that didn't get nerfed until the Wii re-release.
They made the game easier with the Trilogy collection but not sure if it's just fags who never played the gamecube version or what that praise it.
>Contrarians
That's literally it isn't it?
Prime 2 for a long time was not considered a great game but people have latched onto it for that very reason. Does this board do anything but try to have the Hispaniciest opinions possible?
>nooooooooooooo how can anyone like this thing i hate anyone who does is just trying to be edgy and contrarian for the fuckles!!
2 solves the problems with 1 and is way harder. Beam Ammo is really the only thing I don’t like about it.
prime is so fun.
It's also really beautiful and the score is amazing.
If you don't like it, then stay the FUCK away from games like:
TOMB RAIDER
UNCHARTED
MONKEY ISLAND
ALIEN ISOLATION
DEAD SPACE
FINAL FANTASY XII
FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES
TALES OF series
EARTHBOUND
SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI
POKEMON
and anything fun and adventurous that invokes emotion.
>ALIEN ISOLATION
>DEAD SPACE
Fuck you for putting those two games in with the rest of that slop
I liked the remaster and I'm happy that I now have another version of the game that'll be available if my gamecube/wii ever dies
It's nice to play on the go as well
yeah I stopped having fun when I got to the sheegoths. they won't stop turning to face you all the time, like that gay plate beetle. I do NOT want to have to spend 1 minute every time dancing around these shitty "kill from behind" enemies. then i got to the mines and every pirate has to be swapped to another beam every other room. nah fuck that, this game is ass compared to super metroid.
>baby sheegoth is too hard
You're joking right?
I didn't say they're too hard retard, I said I dont want to dance around them to kill them especially when you dont have space jump yet. this game is just tedious. also it should go without saying that super metroid is better but so is something like metroid dread.
Use the dodge jump and press the fire + missile buttons quickly one after the other, you pathetic waste of skin. Baby Sheegoths are pathetic and you're forced to fight them a grand total of once.
WHERE THE FUCK IS THE FUCKING FUSION SUIT
I WANT TO PLAY THE REMASTER AGAIN BUT I WANNA DO IT IN THE FUSION SUIT
AM I GONNA HAVE TO DO IT ON MY GC REEEEE
>Prime 1
>WAAAAAAAAHHHHHH THE GAME IS TOO EASSSYYYYYYYYY
>Prime 2
>WAAAAAHHHHHH THE GAME IS TOO HARDDDDDDDDDD
Remember, asking if a game is good or not from Ganker is almost always the worst opinion you can grab. The place is filled with shitposters who simply shit on games just to bait or be contrarian.
Do your own research. Read both negative and positive reviews.
Never trust Ganker on ANYTHING.
Prime 2 is just right until Retro spites their own face forcing you to rip all the way back to Torvus undertemple right after you start exploring the wicked ass robot fortress.
That part is fine, you dread the initial trek there only to get a shortcut back to sanctuary fortress after getting the power bombs
>Friend who never finished Prime 1 bitching about how hard 2 is.
>Can't fathom the idea that a sequel to a game is built to cater to the people who are familiar with the first game rather than being a big event that tries to appeal to everyone even gays who never played the first.
was this when it was new? or is it recent?
if recent, your friend seems like the kind of guy who games like DA2/ME2 were made for
i like metroid prime
zooming around in the boost ball is so fun
why did you fuckers lie to me and say the atmosphere and the backtracking ruin it, it's so fun to
>boost ball to door
>bomb door
>unmorph, l-target everything and blast it to shit
>morph ball and zoom through
every single room over and over
anyone who doesn't enjoy this game has no soul, it's so fun and the music is so good
>say the atmosphere and the backtracking ruin it
I can get the backtracking being annoying and a game breaker for some not willing to put up with it, but anyone who shittalks Prime's atmosphere is just a shitter who's never touched the game and probably saw a trailer to form their opinion or shits on the remaster by parroting the same 2 arguments everyone else says.
Prime's atmosphere the best in the entire franchise (with 2 sharing that title because they're basically the same game but better) and it's not even close. First person is a more immersive medium than third person.
prime 2 was so shit I never finished it
super metroid was so shit i never finished it
Metroid Pinball was great and I finished it.
Metroid Hunters was great and I'm still playing it.
I've got a physical copy of it. I've only played it a couple of times but it's really fun. It's kinda hilarious how the fanbase generally actually really likes MPP but collectively shits on Other M and Federation Force. And rightfully so.
Phazon Mines is definitely the hardest part of the game but honestly even on Hard mode, it's not THAT bad either.
As for you getting lost, that's your own fault for not exploring some more. Git gud, scrub.
Haven't played the game, but I think it's great and one of the best games ever.
i'm never gonna play a metroid game other than playing through primehack, fuck the 2d ones. dont look fun
I will read that big reddit post with allll the metroid lore and some cool arts tho, that shits fire
Best atmosphere in the game.
Sup, morones.
the pirates in 2 look so fucking shitty compared to the pirates in 1
Say that to my face, bitch-ass punk.
>no hunchback
>no fire eyes
>no retractable arm sword
not my pirates
>looks nothing like the pirates from super metroid
Not my Pirates.
>something actually new and way cooler
>done explicitly under direction from nintendo to not just rehash old shit
thank god
They could have used both those and the new designs as different species of Pirate. Their lore states that the Pirates are composed of many different species, including the Kihunters.
I like prime 3's pirates the most
Wait a second...THEY ARE JUST RESKINNED CHOZO GHOSTS!
Metroid Prime is an annoying ass game that makes navigating slow as shit and has too many scans, visors, and beams. Just getting around and moving as Samus fucking sucks, and the amount of things she can do only makes every encounter a beam swapping, morph ball changing, scan checking laundry list of shit that doesn't actually make the game more fun. Going through one beam door only to require another color beam to open a following door in that room is fucking obnoxious design.
2D Metroid has shit like this but it's considerably faster and doesn't waste your time constantly the way Prime does. People suck this game's dick, people get on their knees and crave the cock of Prime, I've never seen so many people adamantly love this game like it's the coolest shit ever but it just blows ass and has shitty slow controls and horrible backtracking.
>Just getting around and moving as Samus fucking sucks
Get a load of this fag
I love how both Samus and Mega Man just lose all of their shit between games with little to no explanation why.
are you a fucking retard? Prime isn't even remotely hard, how the fuck do you find the Phazon mines difficult?
this thread should be required reading for anyone who complains about games being shit today
this is the kind of mouthbreathing trannies the industry has to cater to
>but le fast travel!!!! le dishonest game design le respect my time!!!
you get what you fucking deserve
>this game is a classic and amazing game because I have to keep going back and forth
>le stupid people because they want to actually play a videogame instead of treading the same ground over and over again
Since when was padding a good thing? When Nintendo does it?
>get to final boss
>the last challenge
>the point of which the entire game has been leading up to
>it's a match the colors children's puzzle
ADHD children need to take their medications.
>yet another gamecube "classic" is revealed to be shit to the masses
>cubies besides themselves coping and trying to defend shit game design
>UH UH UH... DAMAGE SPONGE ENEMIES ARE.. LE GOOD
>SCANNING SHIT EVERY 5 SECONDS IS.. LE GOOD
>MATCH THE BEAM COMBAT IS... LE GOOD
>THERE'S NO BACKTRACKING, YOU JUST HAVE TO KNOW 1000 SPEEDRUNNING TRICKS THAT I KNOW BECAUSE IT'S ALL I PLAY
>I... I... I... YOU'RE A TRANNIE ZOOMER BOOMER LE PEE PEE POOMER REDDITOR ADHD AUTISTIC PERSON AND THE GAME IS LITERALLY FUCKING PERFECT BECAUSE IT JUST FUCKING IS OK?!?!?!?!?!
You fucking love to see it.
>i can't handle anything that isn't gachas and fortnite! why am i being expected to think!? i don't care about world-building, let me shooty shooty bangbang and ignore everything so i can then cry about the game having no substance!
Walking halfway across the map to """""solve""""" a puzzle with an item you get 3 hours later isn't thinking, it's just an exercise in tedium. I'm fine with it being used for extra rewards and things that enhance abilities you already have. Ironically, Metroid Dread does this to great effect (even if it's a bit heavy handed with 1-way lockdowns to the point where even a complete noob to the franchise could tell they were being "guided").
Samus's Dread Suit is the best suit in the series. Especially the gravity variant.
the dread suit looks like shit tho?
The Metroid suit was the best in that game. I don't like how her suits in that game are reasonably proportioned.
I want my girl to be fucking huge and able to rip space pirates in half with her bare hands.
Which is it? 3 is the best.
Were the Metroids or the Xs a bigger threat?
Yes, Phazon Mines is where everything goes down hill pretty much.
>metroid prime fans when they use the purple weapon on the purple enemy
