    You should be glad, actually
Not having israelites and zoomers raping your franchise is a good thing

How does a sequel "ruin" the original?

Treasure didn’t want DH to have a sequel.

yeah, because they were a bunch of ex-konami devs (or something like that) that were tired of churning out endless sequels

but still, I hate the fact that such a good game is pretty much forgotten and never got any sort of sequel

The last game Treasure made was a MonHun clone back in 2014. The sad part is nobody remembers it despite it being actually good

The Geisha boss is the most based 2D boss of any platformer.

      Which one? Toukiden? Soul Sacrifice?

        Anonymous

        >Soul Sacrifice?
Soul Sacrifice was from Comcept. Which was Keiji Inafune's developer who made Mighty Number 9 (and before that, was the creator behind Mega Man). Even though Soul Sacrifice was a significantly much better and more polished game, and has perhaps the greatest story ever told in any game, period (and was never ported off of the Vita, and it should have been after the Vita died, along with Freedom Wars, since they both share boss enemies).

So which huntera ction did Treasure do? Last game of theirs I played was Gradius V which was good, but wrong. So fricking wrong.

It died because Sega never bought them out.

Why do you need a remske/remaster if the game is that good ??

because it's nice for an old classic to get a fresh coat of paint and be exposed to more people
it's obscure as frick due to releasing so late in the console's life

Nobody else is going to say it? Fine.

They backed the wrong horse. If this game was on the SNES, Nintendo would've made sequels and remakes, DH would have been in Smash, but Treasure couldn't stop fellating SEGA's wiener right as it was going limp, just trying to get that erection back like a crackprostitute on payday.

Nah, they backed the right horse, because Genesis' soundchip is way better, and they used it to the max of its ability. Also, they released games on PS and GBA, so I wouldn't call them unreasonably loyal.

        Anonymous

lol? DH sounds like an VIC-20 taking a shit. Unless it's Alysia Dragoon or Devilish, the Genesis had a dogshit soundchip.

Hard disagree, it goes hard. It's not as funky, but even the gameboy version was funkier.

Take the Dynamite Headdy equivalent on the SNES. No sequels were made (since Plok 64 was cancelled), and nobody knows who owns the rights to the game (not even the Pickford Bros. themselves).

This happened even though Shigeru Miyamoto loved the game, and could not believe that an unmodified SNES could even play its music and wanted it to have been a first-party release, but plans fell through since it was TOO similar to Yoshi's Island aesthetically).

No sequels were made. The closest thing was a webcomic done by the Pickfords (who owns the character, but not the game).

Dynamite Headdy was really cool and i could barely get to the final boss when i was little. Nowadays i just play the JP version with the translation.
