Some sort of non-descript ammo imagery that doesn't even seem to be consistent with the weapon, illegible numerals (at a glance), which is ALSO already displayed on the weapon itself, with a huge purple splash behind the lot, and some fucking glitter bling.
The only thing on there that is arguably of any value is the weapon name text, so the game could I guess communicate to players what to call the shootie pewpew in conversation, but even then, I strongly suspect many alternatives that would work better... like an NPC or whatever that gives it to you saying it's the "Boomstick"
it's terrible. For all of the minimalism of the rest of the UI, and as far as that is shoved into the bottom corner, all of it, literally ALL of it could just as well not exist. It's redundant, and overdone. I'd say something about the garish colors, but given the rest of the scene, credit where it is due, it does actually blend out in the periphery of color vomit that is the rest of the game, so it isn't like the designers don't realize what they are doing - provided it won't work in other environments that aren't yellows and purples.

nu neo chroma falls is my favorite area in the game now. It's fun to explore and there's plenty of things to find around the level.
It's great, but the Ice World and especially Borealis Sea is still my favorite. They nailed it with the comfiness of exploring that zone.
Borialis sea was my favorite before. Maybe after the bonus levels get added, it'll bump up again, but chroma falls is just so dense with stuff now. You could easily spend a few hours there just exploring finding chests, bonus levels, and upgrades.

my default gun is the buffalo xl it has a real good feel to it, dragoon is my backup weapon because i have a bigger ammo pool for water based weapons than electro

One leads to an opional dreamstone. Other leads to a portal gem that you need to progress.
Use the consoles in those little huts to turn pipes to connect them.
There is some trial and error as some pipes simply drop you down.
This area is a pain in the ass.

a ammo trinket would be really cool, something like kill 20 enemys for 1 point of ammo of your choosing
I think between ammo stations, enemy drops, and upgrades, ammo is fine enough. What I would like to see is something like an elixir to replenish imagination since the refill stations for that seem more scarce.
Certain fights though can be pretty rough going ammo/health wise, especially in the Western zone.
Maybe an ammo box gadget to put down, payday style. That way people who haven't been getting the upgrades have an option.
Speaking of, that payday heist section in the prison was rough as fuck trying to open all the damn cells

I keep coming back to the dual pistols. Even with the ice staff, venomizer and other good water weapons in my possession, I just find those pistols to be so satisfying to use.
I tried them for the first time today, they are good in combination with a shotgun because they have a similar range of use.
Dual pistols with sharpshooter elixir means 2 headshots with one click.
I really need to start making use of those elixirs. Even on insomniac so far I've just forgotten about them aside from that fight in the tree tops before the swamps/the bee hive

It does. Using sharpshooter and then shooting while prone basically turns shotgun blasts into slugs.
Prone's great and all, but I wish you could aim while crouching too
Stealth seems to finally be getting a touch up so maybe that's in the cards. At the very least, I wish prone on the back was the default instead of on the stomach since that's easier to aim with while sneaking.

It really suits the genre, I think it's overkill and some tighter boomer shooting would be preferable but it really suits the genre.
The Borealis Sea is amazing imo though, the design, music, everything just meshes well. Only issue is that it's partially unfinished. And the nightmare world is obviously something that will be of importance story wise down the road.
Now we need a segment with a full-sized mecha, including the obligatory TTGL references.
