Most sane town in the Bravely games tbh, can't blame them. Adelle is hot as a fairy though. I wish we could use her fairy form.
I mean I can see that they were going for in Bravely Default II >Bravely Default has a fairy companion that acts good but is actually evil and is manipulating you the whole way >Bravely Second has the what seems to be the main bad have an evil fairy companion, but the fairy is actually manipulating the bad guy in question >Bravely Default II has people hate fairies but this time around there's actually fairies that are good for real

Elvis and Adelle were pretty good. Not QUITE Edea and Ringabel tier, but not bad. I liked Seth quite a bit, actually, because he's just kind of actively heroic. Yeah, the cast isn't exactly BAD in BD2, it's more just the plot is extremely lacking. Also the majority of the Asterisk Holders are really just 'there'.
About the only thing I can say is that I like how the cast is more involved with the baddies this time.
>Bravely Default: Most of the villains only really care about Edea. Sometimes Agnes gets to say things to a few. Tiz and Ringabel get maybe one each to interact with, and briefly at that. >Bravely Second: Most of the Asterisk bosses for the Glanz Empire only care about Yew, and the Eternians again only care about Edea. Tiz and Magnolia are just there. >Bravely Default II: Each of the characters gets their own region with their own villains. Adelle is probably the most shortchanged on that front since Rhimedhal doesn't give her much interaction with Helio or Gladys, but her sister is a major antagonist to make up for that.

Default is a verb.
Also as been said many times in the past, to reach the true end, you have to, well, bravely default instead of shifting course and breaking the crystals, so you can summon the true evil and beat it
The game uses the old Final Fantasy job system, so you have four character who can take on any job and any sub-job, along with some abilities. There's a lot of variety and some good progress. One big problem is that it is incredibly grindy to max out jobs, especially if you aren't grinding off killing bosses and there are limited bosses in the game.
The other (major) problem is that the plot goes to shit halfway through. Once the loops start repeating you can toss any sort of story progress out the window. Even worse, if you want to cut to the end, you're not allowed to do so. Go grind the same four bosses 16 times and watch the same cutscene after every single one, then you finally get to play the ending.
So people who give zero shits about the story and just want the Final Fantasy JRPG combat get tons and tons of content. Anybody who cared a little bit about the story got shit on, doubly so if you actually wanted to see the ending before all your cares vanished.
First half is classic ff kino, with amazing music, fantastic job system akin to ffv and a serviceable plot. Halfway through the however, the game gets very repetitive due to the plot, and it becomes a test of patience. You can skip all of that bullshit, but if you like character interactions, you'll miss out on a lot of content.
A strong contender for the goat of boss battle themes though
It's absurdly good. Very easy to break, though. You also have to be willing to delude yourself into thinking that the "true ending" is bonus content and that the game actually ends with the "fake ending" which is infinitely better.
I would say the Brave/Default system is a whole lot of nothing but it's actually worse than nothing; it actively harms the game. Beyond the hand-holding tutorial there's absolutely no reason not to frontload all of your turns and wipe out random battles before they even get a chance to attack so a vast majority of the game is already trivialized because of this system.
When it comes to bosses they're typically designed around the system which sounds good since the game should be designed around core features but the way the battles play out makes it feel like the system serves no purpose because it's just your standard "dump everything you can until the big attack is coming then mitigate, recover and resume shitting all over the enemy" battle system. So you've got normal battles where the Brave/Default system completely breaks the game and boss battles where it feels like almost every other JRPG.
The game balance in general completely fucking falls apart once you start going through the loops. Your damage limit is 9999 as usual which would be fine but the only way to break this damage limit is with certain special attacks that you can only recharge through some social wifi feature you're unlikely to be able to trigger these days or by.. purchasing them. With real money. >then I'll just ignore the special att-
Get fucked retard the 9999 damage limit is only balanced around the first cycle so unless you cheat or save your small handful of freebie special attacks from the very beginning of the game for the true true true ultimate final boss the boss battles become more and more of a slog the more you push for the true ending because you're stuck at a damage cap you reached seven playthroughs ago and now you're grinding the same bosses with massively inflated stats for the best equipment in the game so you don't immediately die to the new bosses you've suffered multiple playthroughs just to be able to fight.
Not that it helps the games balance, but there was a build that is infinite dragoon jumps which should cheese the story, but you're fucked if you want to actually do the side content in the loops
The battle system is good in concept but poor in execution, the dungeons are all shit and linear, the characters are all retarded and only edea is likable, bosses are mostly generic, towns and world map are garbage and the overall story is shitty and generic, even before the loop bullshit. Apparently the ending parts are cool but I can't be bothered to finish it. I recommend trying it to see if it clicks, but it's battle system and jobs are it's only saving grace. FFags comparing it to V are delusional.
True, I guess L3 would be more suHispanicious though.
Nah. V3 is fine once you realize it >V=5
So: >V3 >53
Aha, gotcha. Kind of neat, especially with that being the oddball FPS one, correct? I don't think I'm going to get into the series enough to play through the game, so appreciate the spoiler.
Well, that's the convention of combining roman and Arabic numbers. That was pretty great because DR is exactly the series that would add letters like V to the title without any meaning behind it. I feel like there's one more game somewhere, or maybe a movie, that misleads you with something in the title but can't put my finger on it.
No, V3's a mainline game, the third one. People hate its endings because... Reasons. The same reason people hate Star Ocean 3, really.
I love this ending, personally, although I might be in the minority. Makes me wonder what kind of bullshit SO3 pulled.
Is it worth it playing bd2 without first one? I got spoiled for first one long ago and the idea of replaying jrpg for several times turns me off.
>Is it worth it playing bd2 without first one?
Honestly yes. Bravely Second is the continuation of Bravely Default but Bravely Default 2 is completely a new story you can skip the 3ds games.
>Makes me wonder what kind of bullshit SO3 pulled.
Basically, the big twist of SO3 is the setting's universe is effectively a gigantic simulation video game played by 4D beings. The party break out of their reality to kick the crap out of the game's creator who's threatening to shut down the game for some reason, and then he does, but the collective willpower of the universe just makes the universe real again. Basically it's the added layer of meta-narrative that people hate, I guess? Even though the point is it literally doesn't matter if it's 'real' or not.

Isn't that just the same thing that SO2 did, just without the 4D aspect?

SO2 had Gabriel/Indalecio and his crew trying to return to power after being fucked by the people of Nede. They were going to destroy Expel in the process, or something. I don't recall it ever explicitly saying that either planet existed in a virtual setting.
Spoil me on the BD twist. I think I must have done too much on the first non time looped part of the game because as soon as the time loop happened I was super over leveled and the game was just tedious and boring to back track through so I stopped playing it.
Airy's evil, sending the party to get power from all the crystals so she can destroy things at the behest of Ouroboros, her master. I think, I forget the specifics.
>Snake fuckhead god wants to invade the real world because it's too peaceful (lmao) >sends Airy around to link all of the worlds >she does this by having the party awaken the Crystals >this summons the Grand Chasm and the Holy Pillar >kills the parties when they disobey or learn too much about her plans >eventually the party learns Airy is evil, but not any of the above specifics >decide to keep following her orders because ??? >somehow this all works out and they kill Airy and Ouroboros
Yeah, it's a little weird how the 'bad ending' is... Doing what the game seems to be hinting at you doing, whereas the good ending is just going along with Airy until you run out of loops.
The "Bad" Ending involves the party sharing information with each other, making a sensible plan to thwart the villain, being revived by a plot device that was set up in advance, and preventing the awakening of an ancient evil.
The True Ending involves the good guys just being idiots, being surprised that Airy is evil after literally everyone tells them that Airy is evil, no one telling Edea about any of this, and the setting bends over backwards to make things work out.

I mean, they basically say "You know, Airy is probably evil" by the time you start on Loop 3. They all pretty much agree something is strange. It's just dumb luck that they're able to prevent the whole thing by the end.
"Bad" ending means you kill Airy but Ouroboros is still out there. "Good" ending means you kill Airy and Ouroboros, but it was fantastically stupid to bring Ouro over to your world for the random chance of doing that. Also, it was more like forgetting that bad stuff was happening as opposed to having any sort of plan.

Oh right, one last bit since you aren't watching the ending for yourself. Tiz (the main character) drops dead after you're done with everything. It turns out that he might've died in the beginning, and you, the player, were the spirit inside him keeping him alive the whole game. That spirit passes on, and it's why he just drops.
Bonus endgame content has you (supposedly Tiz) wake up in a capsule, looking around, with apparently someone working to keep Tiz alive/revive him.
i like how they played with this in BD2. Seth 'dies' at the end as well, but during the credits, the title screen comes up, but instead of Load Game its Continue, so you're giving Seth a life

I genuinely do not remember that part. I mostly remember overwriting the Night's Nexus' save file, and Seth getting infinite Brave to break out of the cutscene fuck you attack.

The reason the good ending is considered the good ending is because you default for four loops until you Brave on the last one.
Pretty sure it's a powerlevel issue. The loops are necessary considering Airy can unleash a Zettaflare and that's huge shit for any Square game. Not that I remember how strong the protagonists were.
I do like her final form. Too bad there's so little fanart of it.
I'm level 20 in this game, should I be looking up what classes do or figuring it out as I go?
I'd say figure it out yourself until the end of Loop 1 (after awakening the earth crystal) and maybe through Loop 2 (awakening the four crystals again and/or fighting all the bosses again). After that, you'll probably want to look up one of the obscene combos that let you break the game, just so you don't run into a roadblock and have to grind JP off random enemies. You could also just look up jobs at that point and see what the endgame of each one is, if you prefer that. By then, the story is basically over until the final boss anyway, so have fun with the classes.
Airy's evil, sending the party to get power from all the crystals so she can destroy things at the behest of Ouroboros, her master. I think, I forget the specifics.
Airy is evil. She works for Ouroboros. Ouroboros is running around eating all the worlds. The one neat part was that the endgame had Ouroboros eating the worlds named after your friends and others you've streetpassed... unless you had no friends, and it was just generic names like "Flare1".
And yes, Airy was breaking the crystals to absorb power and call in Ouroboros to your world. Break a crystal too early, and you go to her world for a "false" endgame fight and need to reload a save. The final "true" fight means she gets killed and munched by Ouroboros.
All the loops were basically the same world with basically the same characters, just... a bit different, with different circumstances. I guess this was suppose to give some perspective on their personalities and reasons for acting, but past Loop 2 this stopped working. Mainly because after that, everybody was just goofy and wanting to party or acting like everyone was friends. Nevermind that the assholes you murdered in Loop 1 don't get any better because they are partybrodudes in Loop 5.

I've never seen that in a game actually. The closest I've ever seen was Hollow Bastion getting renamed to Radiant Garden in KH2 and the title screen changing in games like Nier
Unless I misremember, in the good ending They don’t follow Airy’s plan mindlessly, they realise somethings up, Ringabel gets his memory back and remembers he’s the Artemis Dim from another reality who Airy tried to kill, Agnes gets nervous cause she knows it means they’re gonna fight Airy but Edea says they need to do it
You're misremembering. The party knows something is up, but then they continue to follow Airy's plan mindlessly because they genuinely have no endgame in mind aside from "Let's see what happens". When Airy tells them that she finished her plan, they're genuinely shocked that she hasn't fixed the world and further shocked that she mocks them about the fact she's evil/deceiving them.
The game is called "Poke ALL Toads", I'm still developing it. You can find a playable demo in its steam page https://store.steampowered.com/app/2302320/Poke_ALL_Toads/ .

Holy shit. Staring at this game for a while I knew the style felt familiar. Were you inspired by Lemmings? The main Fairy reminds me of one.
More a variant on the title card used in the ending screen but good enough. Wonder what, if anything, the original Japanese version did instead? Because the title in Japanese is "It's A Wonderful World", right?
If you can find a cheap used 3ds then sure. Hack it and play all the games that it was made for it. Citra sucks as an emulator. Devs are working more on their Yuzu project.

Bravely Default any good?
God no
>Bravely Default any good?
It's okay-ish.
Anybody who cared a little bit about the story got shit on, doubly so if you actually wanted to see the ending before all your cares vanished.
>he doesn't have the ability to enjoy the asterisk gauntlet
storyfags need the rope
Nice try pretend gameplayfag. I can tell you shitted on second with my hands tied behind my pecks. Default's gameplay is literally pokemon x/y tier.
I'm actually playing through second right now, its aight.
>he is unironically filtered by the job system
First half is classic ff kino, with amazing music, fantastic job system akin to ffv and a serviceable plot. Halfway through the however, the game gets very repetitive due to the plot, and it becomes a test of patience. You can skip all of that bullshit, but if you like character interactions, you'll miss out on a lot of content.
A strong contender for the goat of boss battle themes though
>song is great but dilutes itself by being played so many times
>good enough that it doesn't even matter and still hits each time
Definitely fantastic. And damn does even the final boss theme hit hard, especially with all the changes
Bravely Second is better.
Yes but avoid the spoiler to get max kino
it's the greatest FF game since V
The battle system is good in concept but poor in execution, the dungeons are all shit and linear, the characters are all retarded and only edea is likable, bosses are mostly generic, towns and world map are garbage and the overall story is shitty and generic, even before the loop bullshit. Apparently the ending parts are cool but I can't be bothered to finish it. I recommend trying it to see if it clicks, but it's battle system and jobs are it's only saving grace. FFags comparing it to V are delusional.
I don't know but the menu screens changing after you beat MGS2, RE4, and Dead Space 2 were pretty awesome.
I like my Breath of Fire 4's flying onaholes better
for me its breath of fire 3 but i respect the choice

Lemme try rerail the thread
Game name?
spec ops: the line
>le phosphorous.. kills le people?
>V isn't just a nonsense title addition to make it sound cooler, it stands for 50
Any other example of intentionally misleading titles?
Anon, V stands for 5.
L stands for 50.
It sounds like they were throwing nonsense at you all along.
He's talking about Dangan V3. It's a huge plot twist of the game.
Aha, gotcha. Kind of neat, especially with that being the oddball FPS one, correct? I don't think I'm going to get into the series enough to play through the game, so appreciate the spoiler.
No, V3's a mainline game, the third one. People hate its endings because... Reasons. The same reason people hate Star Ocean 3, really.
True, I guess L3 would be more suHispanicious though.
Nah. V3 is fine once you realize it
>V=5
So:
>V3
>53
Well, that's the convention of combining roman and Arabic numbers. That was pretty great because DR is exactly the series that would add letters like V to the title without any meaning behind it. I feel like there's one more game somewhere, or maybe a movie, that misleads you with something in the title but can't put my finger on it.
Zeroranger, kinda
>game is green and orange
>title says "Orange" right there in the title
Spoil me on the BD twist. I think I must have done too much on the first non time looped part of the game because as soon as the time loop happened I was super over leveled and the game was just tedious and boring to back track through so I stopped playing it.
Airy's evil, sending the party to get power from all the crystals so she can destroy things at the behest of Ouroboros, her master. I think, I forget the specifics.
This is more or less it.
>Snake fuckhead god wants to invade the real world because it's too peaceful (lmao)
>sends Airy around to link all of the worlds
>she does this by having the party awaken the Crystals
>this summons the Grand Chasm and the Holy Pillar
>kills the parties when they disobey or learn too much about her plans
>eventually the party learns Airy is evil, but not any of the above specifics
>decide to keep following her orders because ???
>somehow this all works out and they kill Airy and Ouroboros
Like for as meh as BD2 ended up being at least its 'bad endings' were basically just "Oh damn we messed up doing that" visions that the party sees happen.
God fucking damnit.
I got it, though.
Pretty sure it's a powerlevel issue. The loops are necessary considering Airy can unleash a Zettaflare and that's huge shit for any Square game. Not that I remember how strong the protagonists were.
>Spoil me on the BD twist
This is Airy the fairy after you looped enough times and was tired of her shit.
I do like her final form. Too bad there's so little fanart of it.
I'm level 20 in this game, should I be looking up what classes do or figuring it out as I go?
job level matters more than regular level, click on the abilities each job has and train up to what you want

Is this the thread?
What thread would that be?
Very cute and small boobs
every thread can be the thread if you want it.
punch all fairies to death
I've never seen that in a game actually. The closest I've ever seen was Hollow Bastion getting renamed to Radiant Garden in KH2 and the title screen changing in games like Nier
Bravely Third that closes the cliffhanger of Second never ever.
Bravely Sword.
Faeries were my gateway to /d/-style sexual fetishes
>fairy fetish doujins
Dangan V3 of course
I love Feo Ul
Airy is one of the hotest characters ever made. I hate how she has an ugly true form
Her secondary form is ugly, her final form is hot again.
But the original is perfect, why ruin it?
They probably thought a flying onahole wasn't the most threatening boss.
You'd probably be more interested in Anne. She stays the same when she fights the party, aside from the second time when she gets a different outfit.
>aside from the second time when she gets a different outfit.
She actually does get bigger though in her Ultimate form.
Why are fairies so fucking hot
The World Ends With You did it the best
>The World Begins With You
That's just cringe, and they did it again in the second game
N-no! Youre cringe!
*shits in your mouth*
>sequel wasn't called The World Begins with You
>final stage is the name of the game
if someone tells you, its not a surprise anymore
Fairies are for cumflation and extreme pregnancies.

Subtitle, actually.
Understandable how a midwit could mistake the two, though.

When is the first game coming to pc
I want to be smaller than a fairy and eaten by one, or made into a sex toy, please make this happen someone
Asian girl!
What does the q mean
>BD has time loops and regression kino
what the fuck? I stopped playing before i ran into any of that, definitely would have had me more interested
No you wouldn't unless you're that weird one who liked the Haruhi anime's Endless 8.
>i get to see mikuru crying animated 8 different ways
you're damn right i liked it
Y'all keep saying tinker bell changed the public perception of fairies but everyone knows it was Navi and Zelda as a whole
My game has fairies
Look like a chud game
Are they evil?
They run around poking toads, who don't like it very much. More mischievous than evil.
Thats the main mechanic of the game.
>Thats the main mechanic of the game.
Ok i take what i said earlier back
Looks very good anon.
Is there a name yet? A playable demo, maybe?
The game is called "Poke ALL Toads", I'm still developing it. You can find a playable demo in its steam page https://store.steampowered.com/app/2302320/Poke_ALL_Toads/ .
Thanks, I've added it to my wishlist and will dl the demo once I'm home.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy the demo.
not proud of this, but i need casual nudes of the mushroom hatted one and DiD of the one with a flower in her hair, as well as the one with the book
I like the animations

because SE didn't make it
Honestly that makes a ton of sense.
smol cute fairy feet.
solatorobo
What the fuck was her problem?
She acknowledges the crystals and the power they hold over people is the real problem.
standard corruption story. she got depressed that her human friends were shit, looked into the darkness and became its puppet
its all in her theme's title: The One Who Soars in the Darkness of Having longed, leapt, and Soddenly Fall
Humanity sucked and wars killed fairies or something I dunno.
She realized someone had to be the obligatory evil fairy and volunteered.
She wasn't sitting on my dick at that moment

More a variant on the title card used in the ending screen but good enough. Wonder what, if anything, the original Japanese version did instead? Because the title in Japanese is "It's A Wonderful World", right?
I know this just a fairy thread, but Chrono Ark changes the very intro
Is it worth buying a 3ds for this game?
I would say no, just emulate it
If you can find a cheap used 3ds then sure. Hack it and play all the games that it was made for it. Citra sucks as an emulator. Devs are working more on their Yuzu project.
depends on you
