Game was pretty good. I liked it better than SOTN. Only downside was lack of puzzles and too many abilities, 95% were useless.

Yeah, this and SOTN are probably my favourites in the Castlevania series. They're also pretty solid Metroidvanias.
i replayed it recently, felt it's way too easy, definetly made for children audience, nothign wrong with that, just doesn't satisfy me
funny that as i grow older, harder games get a harder grip on me, recently i beat the original mega man, took me like a week, it's not extremely difficult, but it's quite frustrating
i kinda wanna go for the original NES castlevania now
I found some of the later bosses very difficult, especially the final chaos boss.
the biggest downside was when you start fighting the dracula wannabe and he turns into a truly horrific monster and the soundtrack starts blaring trumpets like you're fighting the pokemon league
it’s better than Dawn
Dawn of Sorrow isn't good until you get Julius Mode. That was actually fun to play through.
My favorite Castlevania game. It’s so much fun to replay and really freaking hard to 100%
I hate that these games tie the most interesting rewards to drop rates and spawn camping. The actual fun component of exploring just gives you the usual boring number go up.
In my last playthrough of CotM I gained 16 levels trying to get 1 High Potion to drop, I did not end up getting the potion and at that point I no longer needed it anyway, I only wanted it for the fight with Hugh or maybe save it for Dracula's 2nd form.
or you could just not care about rare items and just play the game? Pretty much the best equipment can be bought from the shop in this game.
yeah farming for 100% souls was tedious as frick
The Chaos Ring is so worth it though
Harmony is much better in every way
Harmony is good with recolor patches I don’t care what anyone says
Which recolor patch is that one?

I am playing it right now on a crt and I am enjoying it very much.
>have PSP
>could easily emulate GBA
>still want to play on my GB Micro and with original carts
One day I will get a hold of the GBA Castlevania games, and play them in release order if possible.
I'm not in a hurry anyway.
Just get an everdrive for your micro like I did. I have a PSPGo I'm using again after YEARS of storage just to play SotN in bed.
The main downside to me was that it was too short.
