Gaming in 2023

Just why? What justifies buying hardware like this so you can just run a mediocre game Nvidia showcase?

Consooomerist of goys will eat this up. I'm day to day led to believe that AMD and Nvidia have agreements with devs to make their games run bad on purpose or add placebo settings like ultra to make people buy the latest goyware. Even with an RTX 4090, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D and 64GB of RAM, modern games are such a horrible stutterfest and unoptimized pieces of shit. Meanwhile:

    >own this piece of shit
    >have two profiles: underclocked and undervolted for every day office applications then an overclocked one when I game.
    >rarely game BTW because I'm an adult with wife and kids
    >pair this with an RX 5600 XT
    >still game decently at 1080p with fps ranging from 70-100.
    >Old games that use DX9-DX11 I just simply use -dxvk and the magic occurs.
    >Assassin's Creed Odyssey runs at 50-70 fps at max settings
    >GTA V runs seamlessly with an additional 20-30 fps
    >old games have an uplift of +70-80% in fps
    >CS2 still runs decently with an average of 102 fps.
    >all this just by using Vulkan API and didn't have to spend on new CPUs.
    >low electricity bills too since I underclocked and undervolted this for daily basic tasks and office use while rarely playing games.

Why are people buying the latest expensive shit again? This decades old supposedly "trash" CPU has been doing fine and I game decently just by switching APIs while not buying the latest consoooomer tech trends. Why are people such easily brainwashed retards who think they need the latest Ryzens or Intels and swapping them each generation? Unless you're a programmer, video editor, AI engineer or architect using AutoCAD, I doubt the average user needs that much computing power. Why are people so fucking gullible? What's with modern games and people being such fucking consoooomer drones?

its just a joke op with the intention to discuss gaming graphs I guess

maybe the point is that devs shouldnt give out recommended specs for games anymore since people are too dumb to interpret them

i haven't had to look at spec requirements ever since I had my job

The requirements aren't actually that high. You can run Alan Wake 2 on a toaster and it still looks better than 99% of games.

i have a 12700k and a 3080 founders edition, i play at 1440p with dlss on balanced and get well over 60 fps without issue with pretty much every other setting maxxed out. i left ray tracing off because it's kind of a meme.

two options. stop being retarded, or stop being poor.
or wait, third option. grow up and stop playing video games.

    >90 GB game
Because game devs can't into actual development and have to get UE5 to do everything for them
They're not technically developers, just low tier script monkeys aimlessly gluing together engine functions in flow charts

Yes, I have more important things to store on my machine than AAA slop.

Alan Wake 2 isn't on Unreal Engine 5, it's an in-house engine called Northlight. My guess as to why the size is so massive is mainly because of the 4K FMVs, but then again I haven't looked through the installation folder yet

Incorrect, I never buy Apple devices. Their mobile shit is locked down so it's out of the question by default and I'm not interested in their ARM computers where the vast majority of software won't run. I buy high-end NVIDIA cards because they're good and fast though.

because it's literally the best looking game atm, and yes, that means that only the top of the top deserves to play it. If you don't like it, go back to consoles. PC gaming is an adult hobby.

You don't see (white) car enthusiasts cheaping out, do you?

I didn't buy hardware to bother with mediocre games I don't give a fuck about, I bought it to play awesome games I enjoy.
