I hate that early didn't have a lot of indies, but even the cover shooters that were supposed to be bad, were great games. By then I had played the entire Wii library, and I was disappointed, but I was able to play dozens of gen 7 PS3 and 360 games and found rare gems and games that should get a second chance, like F.E.A.R. 3
There were plenty of good games on PS3, 360 and Wii that people today to not realize exist.

FEAR 2 is really shitty compared to 1. Maybe you could enjoy it in a vacuum but coming right off FEAR 1 it was repulsive.
Last era of unfiltered kino. There was plenty of bad shit but until 2012 or so it was a great time. Multiple amazing games a month, let alone a year. Not only did dead space and mirrors edge come out a week apart but Alan wake and red dead redemption came out on the same *day.* and 2010 also saw great games like vanquish and mass effect 2 on top of like another dozen great games. We will probably never see an era like it again.
Gen 7 was when game devs sacrificed performance for graphics, I skipped most of it because of how bad lots of games performed. I was used to 60 fps, then a lot of games came out that ran at 22 fps.

lol, no call of duty ran below 60 fps on PS2 and Xbox, activision managed to make almost every call of duty game run at 60 fps, whether single player only or multiplayer. other games ran at much higher framerate, like GOW 3 which could hit 60 fps unlike the first two games on ps2
