You can't get a controller working and you're calling other people moronic apes.
>The game uniquely cannot detect a controller when every other game I have can do it perfectly with no issue
>"NOOOO YOU JUST CANT GET IT WORKING, GIT GUD AT CODING UNLIKE THE DEVELOPERS AND JUST FIX IT!!!"
Suck a dick somewhere else you dirty from loving homosexual. You might hit me with the cum stains from your relentless vacuum.
>Doesn't mention controller used
>Blatantly ignores that steam autoconfigs controllers for every game
No, I think you've got a few malfunctions
You pirate the game or something? Most PC games not run through steam don't support anything more than xinput
It's a PS4 controller, and like I said, a fricking 2006 game can do it easily enough, the problem is specifically that the steam autoconfig isn't being picked up by the game.
ds4windows/steam big picture set up, one or the other has never failed me.
>It's a PS4 controller
Oh, I see now. Op is moronic
>PS4 controller
There's your problem, moron
Never had a problem with any from game with my 9 year old ps4 controller, just plug it in and start playing, in the rare case I run into a game that doesn't detect it (which wasn't a problem with Sekiro) I just boot up ds4
I used a PS4 controller to play this game. Didn't need DS4windows or anything.
worked for me with just stean, no extra software like DS4windows or anything
I even downloaded a mod to switch the button prompt images to PS4 buttons
I'm too autistic, in Elden Ring and Sekiro I always tried to pick things up with cross like in Dark Souls so I swapped the buttons around and made it interact, putting jump on square and use-item to up or down on the d-pad.
use DS4Windows you low iq tard
If you could read monkeyfricker, you'd know I already have and was from the jump.
You can get steam to use controller configs on pirated games if you add it as a non steam game lmao
>Sekiro
what are you talking about you moronic black gorilla Black person
I played it on PC, steam will automatically set up your controller when you connect it. You'll have to open up big picture mode for the first time set up though. What's your damage OP?
>The game can't do something BF2 made almost 2 decades ago could do
That's my major malfunction.
I get your point, but it's not as if it's a hassle to get it working. I've always seen issues like that with PC games as part and parcel, not to excuse the lack of controller support but you play on console for simplicity, you play on PC for better graphics amd performance as the cost of having to do some tweaking on occasion. I run an ultra-wide monitor, some games support my resolution natively and for others I'll have to tweak an .ini file or download some third party software. Yours isn't an invalid complaint but you get acustomed to such inconveniences. Downloading DSFIX for Dark Souls when it first launched (another indictment on FROM), tweaking files and the like can be a pain but once the game is working you forget about it.
Bruh I've literally never had any problems based on controllers for any other game except Fromhomosexual games. That makes it less something I'll just forget, and a gay ass problem that hasn't been fixed in half a decade of developing.
If that was all I'd be playing the game right now.
"half a decade", my favorite reach from people trying to make an insignificant amount of time sound significant
your post really touched me, i thought about it for almost half of 30 seconds
If you're not a dying boomer, five years is a long time no matter what. You wouldn't spend five years in a fricking cave, so it's not insignificant. Half a decade is just to emphasize the timescale involved, considering we went from fricking Perfect Dark to COD2 in that same timeframe.
if you think five years is a long time you can say "five years" sweetie.
If you don't think I'm a swell guy, don't call me sweety. It's almost like it's a figure of speech you anuseating homosexual.
Lol anon you are a b***h. Shut the frick up.
>Presented with game flaws
>NOOOO ITS YOUR FAULT
Holy frick, no wonder no one likes you fricking homosexuals. The controller works perfectly with every other game except this homosexual shit. Clearly, it's not a skill issue.
>use non-xbox controller
>expect games to support it by default
this is a skill issue.
And yet every fricking game I've played has done so without issue.
I already have DS4 friend, it has literally never been off that mode, but yeah I haven't disabled steam's controller configuration, so I'll come back later if I still have to seethe.
I think the dying boomer here is you since you're demonstrably too tech-illiterate to play PC games.
>I must only consume the latest trending thing
Or, if you had an interest in the game or genre you'd have finished it in the time it took to raise a fricking toddler considering it's one of the most popular in the "series".
DMC5, Bannerlord(I don't like mousewiggling or spamming D to swing), Destiny 2, and Rainbow 6 Siege are the games I tested it on to make sure my controller wasn't broken.
>If that was all I'd be playing the game right now
That should be all it takes though. I had a friend who couldn't get his DS4 working on The Witcher 3 and I went over to his house and I got it working for him first try. It's impossible to tell what you're doing wrong, but to say nobody else in the thread is reporting issues you're in the minority.
For clarity, ds4windows and the steam controller set up do the same thing, I swapped to the steam set up after learning of it because sometimes if I had ds4windows on and the game worked with the controller already it would pick up inputs twice. My advice would be to go through the controller set up on steam a second time, remove your controller then set it up again. Even try launching the game through big picture mode using the controller. If that fails, remove the controller from steam and try ds4windows.
And I'm telling you I've switched between both, tried what you said in the meantime. I literally use my controller in the big picture mode, launch the fricking game, and it doesn't work. I'll try that last part, and thanks for all the help even if I've been pretty rude.
I've had my share of controller problems on PC, I know the frustration, and when you come online only for everyone to call you a moron that doesn't help either. I hope you get it working anon, because it is a fun game.
>Bruh I've literally never had any problems based on controllers for any other game except Fromhomosexual games.
What else do you play? I used to have issues getting my DS4 working all the time.
>That makes it less something I'll just forget
Again, I see your point. I hope you see mine, part and parcel.
works on my machine with a cheap knockoff controller
I'll show you an ape
Just beat the game on PC a few hours ago with my old ps4 controller. Had no problems, sounds like an IQ issue
>Conveniently beat a 4 year old game today
No. You really didn't.
I beat A Link to the Past for the first time this week, it's really possible
To help get you playing the game instead of embarrassing yourself, try what
suggests, or change the controller desktop config to actual controller buttons
Yes, I really did
we beat it at nearly the exact same time of day
Theres almost always someone playing sekiro for the first time
you got blown the frick out really hard here homosexual i'd be embarrassed if i were you
best to delete your account imo good luck
Works on my machine :^)
everyone i have ever seen whine about controller support in games is trying to use a non-xinput controller without a proper wrapper and is indignant it doesn't just werk
if you're a tech illiterate ape buy an xbox controller
i have it on PC.
never had any problem when i was using a PS4 controller and now that i'm using an xbox controller.
maybe you are moronic after all.
works on my machine
Works on my machine dumbass homosexual Black person op
I played the game on PC with an Xbox controller last year. OP is an ape.
What controller? Did you pirate it? Some pirated games have issues with some controllers. My Sexbox controller that I use with a bluetooth dongle doesn't always work on pirated games, and I assume it's because devs are lazy and rely on the Steam controller API for this shit. Sekiro however isn't one of those games and works perfectly even when pirated.
I used to play Sekiro pirated and got it working just fine with DS4Windows. With pirated games, it's usually just a matter of setting whether DS4Windows is making your controller emulate an XInput or DirectInput controller, since game developers are usually lazy and often only support one or the other.
Eventually got it on Steam and it worked out of the box thanks to Steam's automatic controller profile thing. Used a PS4 controller too. OP is a moron who shouldn't be allowed near computers.
>OP gets his controller working
>Realizes fromsoft put him in the game
How will he react
>implying OP will ever get past Shrek
Good thread
OP when you're done seething and coping just install DS4Windows, select hide DS4 and disable steam's controller configuration. bada bing bada boom you have an xbox controller, most console ports from the last 17 years will work without further configuration.
I'm back, and still seething.
cope. works on my machine.
Shut the frick up you moronic son of a b***h, also womm
But it does, you moron.
Works on my machine, dumb pirate
>The game doesn't even have proper support for controllers on PC
I beat the game using the duke with usb converter and custom driver. any xinput device works out of the box
yeah it does moron
