Pokemon has been Declining in NIHON for years so they are desperately trying to appeal to as many Westerners as possible

Why not make their games actually good instead caring for appearances?

I don't want voice acting or paid singers. I just wish they'd put all their energy and effort into making the region fun to explore and full of fun things to do.

pokémon is already very inconsistent with voice casting. some characters have three different actors between the anime, masters, and special OVAs

It is actually pretty funny: Giovanni: 2 in the anime cause his first one died, 1 in Origins, 1 in Generations, and another one in Masters.
On the other hand Wally has never been in any voiced media aside from Masters so he has a grand total of 1 VA.

That's on purpose, to make it clear that they're different versions of the characters.

How many languages is SV translated into? You'd have to hire voice actors for each one. If you instead only use Japanese voice acting then people will b***h about that as well.

It's Pokemon, they have the money, or they could just do English and Japanese and use subtitles for the rest like a whole bunch of games do.

        >They have the money
Yes. Because they don't waste it on shit like that. Rich people don't get or stay rich by burning their funds you moron.

Ed came to them and that's just free marketing hype.

Nintendo has the money. Game Freak is still only about 100 full time employees.

Simple solution. The only voice acting done for a game is only in the language of the country the in game region is based upon.

Because they would have to spend far more time, money and casting effort for every single language the game is able to be played in, which includes a frickload of work that goes beyond GameFreak when it comes to the game's development.

    They're cheap
They seem against bringing in new blood and those they do are obviously bottom of the barrel through personal connections or something
    They're cheap
Their 3D games are about as efficient as 3D games from 1998
    They're cheap

    >gamefreak continues to cut corners everywhere they can despite making a game for the highest grossing media franchise on earth, essentially with infinite money
    >people unironically want those games to have voice acting
why are pokemon fans so fricking moronic? it's like they want to be disappointed even more.

Companies are like that. Putting money on marketing good, making good quality products bad.
It must be some kind of salesman fetish. They're not really happy if they are not selling smoke.

to be fair hiring voice actors for anything seems to be a shit show.

is pretty obvious they don't hire VAs because casting and doing voice overs take a long time and more on a game with multiple languages, not because they don't wanna mess with player's imagination or whatever PR thing said
A game with few lines can take six months to a year to voice, longer more complex games where I'm sure pokemon falls into because it has a ton of npcs can rake two to three years and TPC has Game Freak by the balls.
That said, nobody says they have to fullt voice game. They could only voice cutscenes, or only character introductions, or only the parts that are a performance (looking at Morgan, Fantina, Piers, rap lady etc.), or just add very short lines and grunts like Masters and Legends did. Grunts and gasps wouldn't even require localization.

Gamefreak is an indie developer who makes that sell less than 100k. Set your standards lower
