Bro I'm a borderlands nerd and srsly, Wonderlands has been the most instriguing story-wise for me (though the OG Tales belongs there as well)
I did enjoy some parts of 3's story even, just wish that it were handled differently, because the world is really interesting and messed up, the characters are colourful, gaaaaaah
I blame EruptionFang for making all of his lore vids, cause now I can't make my own
it really is a gem and I expect it to see a surge in popularity at some point, its fun and colorful and unique and writing isn't as bad as 3 since Tina is a character written for being obnoxious, not one that accidentally became such
I highly doubt it, sounds like a well made indie story that you beat in under half an hour. Likely one of those games you beat and go "hey that was cool, give a like". Undertale while incredibly novel, I just didn't get the hype for and didn't bother finishing.
>loves some shitty, 30 minute "I'M SO DEPRESSED" paid VN with a cute girl because you can't make a story about anxiety without it being a cute girl for waifubaiting morons >hates Undertale, an actual video game
Yep, this is Ganker now.
$1 pseudo art-house games ALWAYS find a mass market on places like Reddit and occasionally here (which is how I found it a couple years back). Plus it's short and feels personal I guess. I guarantee most of those reviewers refunded.
>Police riot game >Command troops similar to M&B with gestures and placement icons >First person melee style combat with directional inputs, block, parry, weapon specific movesets >Transparent riot shield which gets dirtier and beat up the longer you fight (customizable) >Have to block, parry and bash both in close quarters with enemies and when flying projectiles are incoming like rocks, molotovs, iron pipes and knives >Status effects like morale, hot, cold, choking, terrified, berserk, inspirational etc >When about to lose the flank, call in water canon to push em back and demoralize that section with cold water >Press F to "DISPERSE, DISPERSE NOW!" , "THIS IS THE POLICE, YOU WILL DISPERSE IMMEDIATELY" or "CEASE, STOP RESISTING" >Go off formation to chase down looters with a beanbag shotguns, tazers, baton, shield, pepperspray >K-9s available to hold and chase protesters on command >Horse mounted gameplay where you can push deep into waves of people and strike at key people who are rallying the protesters with megaphones >Also riding in horse squads to forcibly change the flow of protesters down different neighbourhoods and streets >Build blockades and endure a certain amount of time to force protesters into less populated areas
1/2
>Experimental missions where you get the microwave riot vehicle to de-humidify skin in a second and worse unless they yield >Extra strong mace is available and subdues several droves of protesters at once temporarily, all except the hardiest ones or those equipped to withstand it >Teargas grenades helps with dispersing the riot but forces you to use a sight reduction gasmask to get into the thick of it >Protesters adapt to your equipment usage and will start using more gasmasks and eye shields when sprayed mercilessly >Excessive use of force on the subdued will stir up more people to the protesters side so we don’t get swat_4_granny_heartattack.webm unless you really like sticking it with the prod >Late game riots going completely out of control allows limited usage of lethal weapons >Pick your own chants, insults, warcries, laughs and threats to use at any time >Carefully time decisive and questionably brutal actions away from the busiest media covered areas to avoid getting too much bad press. The big supportive vehicles can act as a diversion because they always draw a lot of attention but instead of using their big “guns” you just order them nearby another area while delivering a savage beating two blocks away to quickly disperse a crowd and start focusing elsewhere
I can give you a list of the ones that I found interesting, if you like them or not is not my problem.
Shadow of the colossus
The suffering
Siren 1 & 2
Divinity, original sin 2
Red dead redemption 2
All Metro saga
All dark souls saga
Fallout new vegas with all dlcs
Soma
Elden ring
Darkwood
No mans sky
Nier automata
Song of horror
Frostpunk
Warhamner 3 total war
Black person, you can argue that fromsoft makes the same game since Demon's souls but DS1, Bloodborne and Sekiro are all great games, Demon's souls rekindled the oldschool feel when gaming were going to shit.
Elden Ring from the other hand is embarrassing, i would expect more from fromsoft.
Dunno what else could you want dude, if you ever tried any of these then your only option is to search for really old games with dubious reviews or play some indie shit and hope for the best.
That or buy that suicide helmet that throws nails into your head if you loose a game, I suppose you can consider that * extreme * enough.
>FromSoft >intresting
Ask me how I know you're a homosexual with shit taste.

>Lil b***hes get recked by Malenia too many times?
Elden Ring is the easiest fromsoft game if you're using spirit ashes and maybe the hardest without them.

I will shill this little game and you will like it medieval space flail and eye-gouging smart rockets (+stealth)
Michigan: Report from Hell
You play as a cameran that, together with his crew (sound guy and anchorwoman), investigate a mysterious mist that has enveloped the city. You cant attack or touch stuff but you can highlight items or stuff for the anchorwoman to interact with. Also you cant die but the anchorwoman can, if she does then she's replaced with another one with a differnt personality and appearance.
A JRPG with platforming that's pure gameplay with practically no story. I'm talking 15 minutes of dialogue over 40 hours of gameplay. ACgay's wet dream
Pretty fun job system
>Gimme an extremely interesting video game.
Some really interesting, if often deeply flawed games: >Pathologic 1/2, The Void
The most fascinating narrative experiments ever produced in this industry, combining hard, often frustrating gameplay with crafting a classic-fiction tier story-telling and exploring the possibility of player agency within that. Basically, if you ever wonder what is the best example of the whole "Game's storytelling is at best when it unique to a game, and something that would work equally as well in a book or a movie" - Pathologic and The Void are THE games to demonstrate this idea in practice.
>Miasmata
Incredibly unique, old indie game about exploration - an actual true walking sim. It's fascinating for three reasons:
1) Really clever, momentum based movement simulation that makes just walking across rough terrain a mini-puzzle in and off itself, and makes you feel like you are genuinely traversing wild landscapes, not just hovering over a facsimile of it.
2) Actual cartography-based system of triangulation that forces you to act like a REAL fricking explorer, using landmarks and other tools to navigate and orient yourself in the world
3) weird, silly looking monster that however has exceptionally good and complex A.I. for it's time, which rewards experimenting and interacting with it, rather than just legging it.
The game is ugly and very rough, but my god did had some fascinating ideas. >Inquisitor (2012 Czech game)
Mechanically terrible isometric RPG with some of the best dialogues and RPG investigations ever seen in a game. REALLY makes you feel like a genuine witchhunter from 17th century. >Cryostasis
"Ukrainian Bioshock" with awful optimization, but some of the best storytelling in FPS games ever. >MegAquarium
One of the best managerial/tycoon games I'ever played, with some really clever ideas about logistics and truckload of depth, really cool even if you aren't into the theme.
Shame it looks like ass.
>Game's storytelling is at best when it unique to a game, and something that would work equally as well in a book or a movie
I'm assuming you meant to say "wouldn't work equally as-"
>I'm assuming you meant to say "wouldn't work equally as-"
Yes, that is absolutely what I wanted to say, sorry about the error. Have a cute waifu and daughter-fu as an apology.
Honestly, it's odd how a "hyper-serious" game like Pathologic also ended up being such a fricking source of obsessive waifu/daughter-fu homosexualry in the end.
But then again, Dybowsky is probably a crypto-weeb.
Dishonored games aren't bad, but they still make me really sad about how little advantage they actually take of their own settings. Dis2 maybe even more than Dis1.
This is a world that could be SO MUCH BETTER if they weren't stifled by Arkane's narrative incompetencies, and Beth's absolutely abysmal and corrupt leadership.
Imagine what we could have gotten out of Dishonored's 1 fantastic setup if it wasn't for muh special characters sequel.
Such a thick ambience and themes, it just works so well.
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is interesting in a way where you can see how good of a game it could've been if it was given more dev time and a bigger budget. Stuff like the complete lack of a reload button, or how janky yet somewhat impressive the crowd AI gimmick they tried to shill is.
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is also interesting purely on its design and art direction alone. It's one of my favorites even though the gunplay is dog water.
Antichamber is interesting for like 20 minutes. Then all the novelty wears of as it is revealed to be a very basic and puzzle game that rarely if ever takes actual advantage of the spatial frickery for anything interesting gameplay-wise.
>the frick does "troon" mean
It's our le epic meme word you loser lmao. It means that you don't like it because it's not for cool hecking epic gamers like us. It's a cool special club thing, you wouldn't understand it.
I sincerely apologize. I fricking hate this board for what it has become, and myself for typing that.
From what I hear it takes place in a universe where everything in the entire universe disappears except for the humans who were in space at the time of the rapture. The only things around are the last humans and two wierd blood moons that appeared
it's my personal indie GOTY last year. It's like a mix of FF5 and SaGa with a non-linear, exploration focused story. Highly recommend you check out the demo, you can get a good 6-8 hours from it and transfer your save to the main game
Jagged Alliance 2
A turn-based-tactics, strategy, RPG hybrid done right. You're hired by the king of a third world country in exile and given some amount of money to hire mercenaries that have their own personalities, perks, stats to overthrow the absolute butthole of a dictator that makes living there absolute hell. In addition to liberating the towns you also complete side quests, buy equipment, control silver mines, train militia etc.
Rain World, Michigan Report From Hell, Xenogears, Flower, Sun and Rain, Baroque, Planet Laika, Acoounga. interesting game for sure but are they fun? thats for you to find out
The Secret World MMO. It's basically dead as can be, but the solo side of the main story and missions are the greatest in all MMOS, and stack up even compared to solo RPGS. And all the quests and stories are free.
Knights of the Old Republic
Your image reminds me of Titan Chaser. I wouldn't describe it as "extremely interesting" but it's a pretty cool game that you haven't heard of
not EXTREMELY interesting but there are various story beats that makes you go "heh"
it has a unique theme thats for sure
Go to bed Randy, no one wants to play your trash.

The frick? I've never even heard of this is it some undertale tier bullshit?
I highly doubt it, sounds like a well made indie story that you beat in under half an hour. Likely one of those games you beat and go "hey that was cool, give a like". Undertale while incredibly novel, I just didn't get the hype for and didn't bother finishing.

Yep, this is Ganker now.
I mean to be fair undertail is like a 7/10 but way overhyped by the community
It's just a VN, as cringy as it sounds; you need to fully immerse yourself in this one.
i found it "extremely interesting" as OP requested
$1 pseudo art-house games ALWAYS find a mass market on places like Reddit and occasionally here (which is how I found it a couple years back). Plus it's short and feels personal I guess. I guarantee most of those reviewers refunded.
Menhera simulators often get positive reviews.
It's a VN so waifu homosexuals are giving it 20/10 scores like they always do.
