the only real reason it deserves to be criticized for is that they clearly threw out the original plot at the halfway mark, and then replaced it with an inferior one.
none of the dumb decisions it made really detracted from what makes playing Golden Sun enjoyable. With the exception of making Crossbone Isle postgame exclusive, wtf were they thinking there?
Yes and no, it is inferior to the first two games but it gets far too much hate for what it is.
The only two things that annoyed me were the needless roadblocks and the fact that Himi has zero personality despite being Susa's kid.
I think everyone did. I still think of them today when I play JRPGs, it'd be nice if more games had that stuff still. Made it worth selecting attack over just skill spam.
Could've stood alongside Xenoblade as a Nintendo flagship JRPG. Instead it's a dead and forgotten franchise. This and Zone of the Enders will always be my biggest gaming regrets of what could've been.
How long until "Goldensunlike" becomes a term?
did dark dawn deserve the hate
i never played it. didnt have a ds and it came out too late for me. tbh im content with the first two games
I wouldn't say it deserves hate, but it does deserve to be ignored.
No but they really should have delayed it for the 3DS.
Same with Mario 64 DS the best upgrade to the original

Dreamtide was always so cool for such a weak weapon.
i loved the weapon unleashes. gave the attacks so much weight

I got stuck on the Kraken and graduualy lost interest never completing the game after that.
Same happened to me too and I figured out I needed to pick up the Djinns that I missed, then when I went back to fight it with more Djinns I beat it.

Why don’t Monolith just make a Golden Sun and somehow merge it with Xenoblade to keep it relevant or something, just throwing out ideas.
I liked how they gave every djinni a unique shape.
Why didn't they let us kill Alex in Dark Dawn if they weren't going to do another? It's been over twenty years, just let us battle the guy already.
has anyone been able to extract all the models from dark dawn?
Was Golden Sun actually a metroidvania?
Sexooo
Mmmm those cute paws, I never played Dark Dawn
oh shit
I miss these weird looking little shits
I had so much fun with golden sun as a child, even though I got super stuck
