I managed to find a non-virused file for it, but it still asks to access my phone data. Not happening

I allowed it to access my data. It needs access to save your game data, stupid fricker
Again, OP is underaged and needs to kill himself. His last rom thread was deleted as well. You shill.

How the frick else is it meant to play roms

Well I found a good GBA emulator that doesn't ask me shit and lets me pick the rom manually

It's not even $5 just buy it you poorgay.

I'd buy the actual games at that point I'm never gonna pay for piracy

I allowed it to access my data. It needs access to save your game data, stupid fricker
Again, OP is underaged and needs to kill himself. His last rom thread was deleted as well. You shill.

Why was it deleted? I'm not underage. My GBA emulator saves the data without needing to access my phone's media. And pretty sure it allows me to paste a copy on the phones storage/SD too if I want

My gba emulator asked for permission too. I don't understand why you are so fricking paranoid and moronic, might be because you are a tech idiot
They need to access data to be able to write in the memory, you likely forgot or your emulator for gba is actually pozzed

Its far and away the best ds emulator for android. If you're too dumb/paranoid to pirate the emulator it's literally just ~$4 on the playstore.
You are too much of a moronic homosexual for having principals about piracy.

        >emulators are piracy
        Shouldn’t you be in school?

You are pirating the console itself

Courts have already ruled that emulators themselves aren't piracy. Grow up.

Drastic is the best. If you're a poorgay (which you are), try Retroarch with the core that works best for you

    >no period before each line break
    >knowledge of piracy laws is jack shit at best
    >”I-I’m not underage I swear”
You’re obviously a phoneposting grade schooler. Wait until school’s out, then buy Drastic when you get home.

I couldn't give less of a shit about law. Drastic is stolen hardware and roms are stolen software, simple as. I don't pay to anyone but the creators, if I can or want to pay

My gba emulator asked for permission too. I don't understand why you are so fricking paranoid and moronic, might be because you are a tech idiot
They need to access data to be able to write in the memory, you likely forgot or your emulator for gba is actually pozzed

      I am a tech idiot
I know why it asks to access the data I just don't trust any app that asks any permission, I know they always take more than what they need. I even have a DS and all gen 5 games I'd just like to play the opposite versions and even more importantly be able to complete the Dex through cheats.

Drastic is the best. If you're a poorgay (which you are), try Retroarch with the core that works best for you

      I'll try RetroArch bro thanks

Then get a flashcart if you fear piracy so much, you can get roms later
You can also buy the legit game, make a rom by yourself from the cart and sell it again, at relative no loss and no viruses. Guides are moron proof.

    Are you moronic?

Android apps don't strictly need storage access to save data, as the OS grants them their own little folders so they don't need to access the shared storage.
However, the user can't easily access an app's storage because doing so with an app would mean any app can. For this reason, any files that should be within reach of the user should be stored in the shared storage, so they can transfer and back them up easily. One example is emulator save files.
Strictly speaking this does mean DraStic is asking more permissions than it *absolutely* needs, but not being at the mercy of your phone for backing up your save files is a great feature if you ask me.
Roms can be loaded through the system file picker but it's nicer to let the emulator scan a folder in the shared storage and show them to you in-app.

What's the difference then between a pc emulator and an android one? we are trusting the dev doesn't frick us over anyway, OP is a fricking underage c**t or moronic beyond belief. If he doesn't trust fricking emulators that are safe, he doesn't deserve any games.

It also depends on where he gets the apk. If he downloads it from a sketchy website then someone could have modified it for malicious purposes. There’s zero real reason not to spend a few dollars on the emulator from an official source, assuming they are already comfortable with piracy. Emulators aren’t piracy.

Or you can be not moronic and grab it from a decent pirate site, but he is a fricking idiot
For somebody that claims he is not american, he sure acts like one.
          >omg i won't pirate because i am gonna end in le jail!
