Man, always wanted to enjoy ghost recon more. The AI could have been more dynamic and the guns had this weird recoil where the bullets would visibly hit other places but the hit on the target would still happen, ao what you saw hitting didnt translate to what you were actually hitting, I guess.
Still, the core gameplay and the whole mood were amazing, loved the audio of it and how isolated the whole experience felt.
It has its flaws for sure but it was my childhood the first FPS I played and I think it has held up great. I love the squad aspect to it you can give them orders and switch between each squad member. Every member can die and they will be Kia for the rest of the game they can all win different ribbons for their campaigns and accomplishments. There were different specialists you could unlock. They had a great roster of guns the missions were great and I loved that after you beat the main campaign you think the game is over and bam you get a whole new desert campaign to go through. It was kino I replay it at least once a year and it’s just my all time favorite game.

Try not to get overhyped by this thread, but it is worth playing.
The game tries to trick you at the beginning, but I like to use my prior knowledge to do backflips to skip the OG levels and make them go faster.
You have access to all the weird new jumps, like backflipping, handstands and triple jumps right from the beginning, but the game has this interesting teaching thing where it shows you moves during little cutscenes as you progress through the game. Nothing's actually locked, though.
Another thing the game does is really double down on faking that the game is normal, by having the OG levels without a background, so that when you get to the real game, the background appears and makes the game more vibrant and interesting.
GB Donkey Kong? Have you played it? I always found it absolutely bananas that it's a "remake" of the OG DK game, but then the game opens up and is actually a long, complex game with a million little jumps and tricks you can do, all on a handheld that's only got a d-pad and AB.

Nah, I just love RPGs with a million numbers to fuck with. You had all those stats to mess with, custom spells, custom enchantments and all the other shenanigans you could get up to. If the game was balanced a little better, it'd be damn near perfect.
Also, I found the accuracy system wasn't an issue for me, as it was made at a time when dice-roll games were common, though I hated that ranged attacks required the player to aim AND pray to RNGesus to actually hit.
Also I miss spears and crossbows.
Only people that don't have the patience to get through the beginning of morrowind don't like it. It has probably the best videogame world ever created, nothing has or ever will come as close to level of unique weirdness that Morrowind had.
Tail Concerto is a better game than Solatorobo, tbqh. But the story isn't as good, and some specific torturous segments tear it down, I guess you could argue.

What do you like about kirby 64, from my memory when i played it, i thought the movement was a bit on the slower side, i liked the transformations though they were freaky looking
I really enjoy the ability combos and find them cute, despite how limited they are in capabilities. No other system that attempted to mimic it really compares. I also really love the 2.5D aesthetic and I really wish RtDL and the 3DS games leaned into that. Jumping off that, I feel like no other Kirby game matches the whimsical and dark tone that 64 bounces between.
i remembered loving the cutscenes of that game, they were so cute, i kept watching them on youtube a lot, if ur looking for a 2.5d game id recommend klonoa door to phantomile, i hear it inspired some of the level layouts for kirby 64 but im not too sure

Fair enough. I'm only 26 and even though I started at 5 I only played a small handful back then and there were some years during college where I didn't play many either. I just got to a point where I was putting on games I know I liked a good amount but maybe didn't have a ton of personal connection to.

The Witcher 3 is a great game but i personally put Cyberpunk 2077 over it in my top 100 list. Still i can understand why some people would have The Witcher 3 in their top 10 or their top 100.
As a fan of cyberpunk games, 2077 would have to be in my top list somewhere. Deus Ex is a given. There's some good cyberpunk indies out there though. I really liked Cloudpunk.

Do the Pirate Warriors games do anything interesting with the combat/format or are they just somewhat polished musous with good fanservice for OP fans? I played P5 Strikers and loved it despite never playing Persona 5 whereas Hyrule Warriors just felt okay to me since I have no connection to LoZ, so since PW gets a lot of praise I'm wondering how into OP you need to be to like them.

It's a good game underneath all the One Piece stuff. But, most of it will seem foreign and weird if you don't know the story.
I think 3 is the best game in the series 4 was not notably worse, but I didn't like it as much because they removed some characters.

Started with the original back in '99 when I saw it on the shelf at a store and loved it, then I played Eternal Punishment and didn't like it because it wasn't very much like the first game (and so much context was missing since we never got Innocent Sin in the west). So I dropped Persona for a long time and then picked it back up again around the time Persona 4 came out in 2008. I forget when exactly I finally replayed Eternal Punishment but something just clicked and I fell in love with it.
My second favorite game of all time launched as a PS4 exclusive, what are you talking about?

I played FF7R recently and really didn't like it. The awful pacing, the entire Shinra HQ segment, the final motorcycle segment, and the final bosses(holy fuck I hate how they handle Sephiroth in this game). Aside from the hate, I do like M3, PM-TTYD, Galaxy, MM, and kinda like Deltarune. Nowhere near my favorites though.
Think I might have some recency bias for PT and Crystal Project is a tough pick because there's so many JRPGs I enjoy.
