>great performance on low spec systems while also looking reasonably impressive

>great performance on low spec systems while also looking reasonably impressive
>zero ue4 type shader compile stutters to be found
>supports every gameplay style that capcom produces (action, fighting, third or first person)
>has been refined to such a degree that production for capcom's modern titles is faster than competitors like square
>a large part of the reason for capcom's meteoric rise in pc sales

when will other developers make their own re engine

I just wish they made more games that were on the level of DMC5, REmake 2 and MHW on it.

monster hunter next and dmc6 are coming eventually

MHW was still on their previous engine.
      MHR is on RE Engine.

this is a lie. If it was so good then we would have got RE2R.RE3R.RE7.RE8.RE4R on the switch physically.

Just accept the switch is too weak to handle most games they're not miracle workers

capcom were already working with their own proprietary engine before they worked on re engine so they already had the staff/resources available to afford time making another engine. it's really not trivial to just start making a new engine on a whim if your company hasn't been doing that for years already. it's simply easier for companies to take advantage of third parties doing all the work developing engines and solving the myriad of problems that come with that type of work

the switch can barely run its first party games at a double digit frame rate and at a tangible resolution so you might be waiting till switch 2 to play re games..

re4r runs like shit on my 1070ti/ryzen 5 build

It's a movie game. Movies are 23.976 fps. Who gives a shit.

            Anonymous

Movie games are still (shit) games
30fps is a slideshow and it's laggy as hell, not great for a movie game where you're still expected to aim accurately.
The 23fps argument doesn't work for videogames and never will.

              >30fps is a slideshow
I get the distinct impression you've never had to deal with a game running at an actual slideshow framerate.

      Ran flawlessly on my 8600k/1660ti

This. I noticed the fps is quite a bit lower in the demo compared to past re games. In village, re2r and re3r, I could easily get over 100fps on high settings in 1080p, in the re 4 demo, could only high 70 or low 80

      Came to say this
Fox Engine was perfect, but in the end manager moronation always fricks thing up long road
The real problem with proprietary engines is need to train hires(which takes time and in general makes it harder to find talents)
Compared to popular engines with market collapsed by the millions of Indians ready to do the job 10 times cheaper
It's much cheaper up to some threshold to work with UE4

RE2/4 demo barely run on 5 FPS for me in Low Settings.
Fox Engine runs and looks damn good with MGSV on my shitty laptop on High Settings, how the frick.

they should really open sauce it and let randos maintain it for free like Amazon did with O3DE, but konami is too moronic for that

if it was engineered competently it shouldn't be impossible to replace a component of the system
