Nothing about this game so far screams "HERE TO STAY!" but I don't see any signs of it falling flat on its face either. It might end up being a small little mobage that keeps on truckin' by not being overly ambitious.
From the CBT, it seems story driven so that will make or break it's success.

The only rolls I got a 5-star on were my first and my tenth so when I was going nuts and saw that on the tenth I was getting a 5-star on my last chance after regretting giving up on the first one it just so happened I got Hook who was the same one I got the first time.
It didn't for me. Oh wait, I was chatting with someone for a bit. Maybe I would've gotten kicked when I tried doing something that would've given me a loading screen.

Usually gacha games are poor at communication
Some games use two separate servers, one for login, and one for gameplay
(Generally games with this feature usually have a self-hosted login as well as google/apple login)
Sometimes they might take the login one down for reasons, and if that happens, players within the game can still play so long as they're not booted

"maintenance hell" has been a thing for a long time now, and with jp creating charts and shit to show how long it has been down and the brief period it was up before going down again.
I managed to get past the server error, but then I got stuck on the screen after server choice. Feels like this is going to be a few days until it's actually playable.
They're serviceable, and since you have a unit cost limit in battles, you can't just throw out a horde of only 4 or 5 stars. You're going to have to mix in some lower rarity characters.
Gameplay seems typical autobattler and some designs are nice. But without the fapbait or any kind of bond system the only real appeal seems to be the story and designs.
I don't think so. Like I said I had literally 10 pulls with the same unit 3 or 2 times. EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's a common RNG issue.
It also has nothing to do with being israelite or whatever. In fact, units have TONS of upgrades from dupes, just that a single doesn't do much. If the only way you get that shit is dupes, it's actually very israelite. Because getting that all WILL have a big effect. Just one or two are whatever.
When I was able to log in last night, the game played fine, hut when I tried this morning everything is super laggy. Not just the network stuff, even interacting with UI has several seconds of delay and sometimes taps don't even register.
There don't seem to be massive gaps in combat power between rarities, only the fact that higher rarities have more abilities and passives. So just pick whoever you think is cute.
I've been using Cheshire cat and Big Bad Wolf together just because those two characters mean a lot to me thematically, specifically together.
This is kinda hard to figure out though. Cost plays a big part of how strong a unit is. Low cost units are generally weaker than high cost ones. Then abilities, position and so on.
I don't have enough units to get a good idea. But I can say that 5 stars feel like they have a lot stronger abilities than 4 stars and such.

Hansel has a ridiculously high combat stat for being a 3* unit with 2 cost. He gets 20% more attack just for Gretel also being there, who also costs 2. Synergy plays a big part.
That's another question. What even IS the combat stat. Another 3 star unit has a lower combat stat but EVERY stat is higher. She costs 4 to deploy though. In other words, deploy cost MIGHT be part of this.
Hansel's stats are actually really bad. No Hp, no def, mediocre attack. He attacks relatively fast (assassin type), but that's it. He dies before this other 3 star unit has even taken half of her Hp as damage.
I also did some dungeon stuff, and did stuff with recommended combat stuff quite a bit above of what I had and it was pretty easy. Further raises the question what this stat even really says. It's not a simple addition of the actual stats like some games do it.
Hansel is pretty clearly supposed to be a glass cannon along with Gretel, but you have you control enemy aggro pretty hard to keep him alive and have guardians in there to take the heat for him.
I have no idea how the combat stat is calculated but comparing him to The Beast (6 cost) he actually has higher DPS even if he has like, 20% of his HP and defense.
I currently have a 5 star attacker who basically works like an assassin as well: Kaguya. Her special makes her jump to the back and hits the target for pure damage and a stun.. that I never saw because it generally kills.
Has like 200 attack level 9. But I did give her some equip which seems to matter quite a bit.
Curious system. Hard mode maps also seem to have specific challenges and seem to reward a pull. Hope they can fix the server. Game looks actually genuinely interesting to tinker around with.

Kaguya IS an assassin.
The combat system does seem pretty neat.
From what I can tell: the lane you put your characters on does matter, and they will walk down it and engage anyone they encounter.
Guardian - melee phys damage, typically very high defense/HP, seems to get targeted more often
Warrior - melee phys damage, well-rounded between damage and tanking ability
Assassin - melee phys damage, typically paper defenses/HP, seeks out ranger/mage/sage characters to take them out if possible, typically has an active skill to facilitate this
Ranger - ranged phys damage
Mage - ranged magic damage, usually has aoe, usually has a massive nuke as their active
Sage - ranged magic damage, usually has a healing passive, usually has a healing active but some have debuffs

I must make a correction to my own post. Some rangers are magical damage. Seems to be that rangers do single target damage while mages do area damage, as the split. Not sure. Maybe rangers are just the tankier ranged option while mages are squish.

My guess is the early game content will work with warriors, but tanks will be needed later. Dracula is objectively S tier though
Turns out there's some enemies that knockback your frontline and then murder your backline, and some guardians are immune to that. Also, the weekly dungeon has direct nerfs to healing and warriors in some days, so I guess they're not as bad as I thought.

At least every chink game that I've played had the decency to have Jap voices. Koreans seem less willing to add them, but if I managed to suffer through Library of Ruina so I'll be fine.
Does party order matter or can you just slap anyone anywhere? Any reason to not use auto combat/deploy? I'm sure later on, assuming there is later on, it'll matter but not now.
It matters for auto, if your party is new, it deploys the first 4 and then the strongest characters, but if you played manually with that party, it copies your deployment, although not perfectly for some reason.
Eventually the stages need a bit more thinking and auto doesn't work as well, but before that there's no downside.
You basically just have to figure it out from context in how people react to the MC, but he almost always says his thoughts out loud anyway.
Is there an easy way to reroll?
Your first free 10 roll allows you to reroll it 10 times. There's also enough free and easy to get roll tokens that you can probably get whoever you want pretty easily. I haven't rolled any Cheshire dupes though and that makes me sad.
Just roll until you get a few 5* or just one. This game came out at the same time for both asia and global and with it still being in beta there's really no tier list. On top of all that they're going to be very generous with compensation come release in maybe a week or two, including at least one 5* selector and a ton o rolls so you'll likely get a few good units there.
Is there a place where I can request a change? Using skills in succession (happens in auto) sometimes cancels the original skill from fully getting out, and that is obnoxious as frick and needs to be fixed.
You only need to clear the stage once if you're using the sweep, it counts as if you did all the clears at the same time. Not that great, not that bad.
I guess the "oops" just sounds like a native english speaker said it, like it's not the same person. And yeah, a lot of the 4* units and some of the 3* even are pretty strong.
They're both pretty good, but I would go with bottom one, Dracula and Alice are known quantities and are really good. I personally think that the queens and Chesire Cat are really good, but we can't tell when everyone is in the early game.
Something to consider is that the asia server will probably be more competitive, but I'm not sure how much will that impact the game itself.
They would get fricked 100x times before sunday if they acted like total morons. I mean, the odds are against them already, they removed guest account for easy and fast rerolls, their servers dies everytime someone wants to try the game, they are stingy with normal game rewards outside of compensations, asiatic VAs, no cool animation for the trigger skills, illusion connect rip off gameplay and etc.
The only thing that carries this game is the writing, art direction, music, UI and compensations. Gameplay is just a means to an end, is hard to enjoy something that is both not flashy and new.
Let see how they will do with events and new characters + how generous they will be in the future. Fricking shame the artists are stuck with this.
Speaking of PvP I'm noticing an issue here. The story missions that unlock the arena recommend 3500 power, but everyone I'm facing in the arena is like, 1000 power total. There's no way they are able to clear those chapters. Am I facing fake players?
Feels weird seeing dark and holy seemingly not any more rare/special than the normal elements. With the elemental stuff the game does, they really should be.
Got a strong elemental char? Will still suck against their counter. Got a strong holy/dark char? They kill what counters them even faster than the rest.
So yeah, dark and holy are clearly OP, so you'd expect them to be more rare. Yet I got so fricking much dark already.
Last game I played that used these exact same elements and the same counters, you had to summon people with crystals of their assorted colors. Light and Dark crystals were much rarer than the others. That game also did a thing where every character came in a fire, water, nature, light, and dark variant. The Light and Dark variants (typically) had higher stats, but there were exceptions in some cases.
Looks like daily reset just happened (12pm noon for me in europe), and it killed the server.
Figured it's daily reset because there's this guild room check you can do once a day, and once I did it, it said it takes a few seconds for the next one being available.
Daily reset killing the server isn't looking pretty though.
I mean it's nothing much else besides those I listed, apart from the tutorial/freebie units it's bathory, odile, red knight, otohime and belle (happy for bathory, if only I'd got drac too).
When should I be using these memory shards and unearthed relics, straight away or are there ever any limited banners that use those tix, more worth using them on?
The memory shards only work on the permanent banner, what I don't know is if new units will be added to it. Might be worth holding them to see how it works.
This is ridiculous, I'll do like one battle and then get disconnected again. I think I'm just gonna dump all my keys on gold or exp stones and try again tomorrow.
Not on the Discord, but apparently they're going back into "Open Beta"? Looks like they're just going to let everyone keep playing on the scuffed servers until they manage to sort their shit out.
That's what it feels like. The game is super responsive once in a while, just to become super slow again, until the connection times out. However so far the server always knew what happened. I didn't lose drops or anything like that.
I don't think this is caused by too many people playing. Something odd is going on. It can go from smooth and fast to time out within a minute or two.
That's hard to judge with all the issues. There's a lot of potential, because of how unit placement and composition actually has depth, with the cost factor and such.
In the end it depends on how they plan on keeping you busy. (aka events and such) Wouldn't consider it my favorite, but I've seen much worse that is alive for quite some time and relatively popular.
In the end the best concept doesn't do anything, if the experience is bad because it's not used well. On the flipside a completely fine concept can be really good if they handle it well.
I like what I'm seeing for the classes and the characters so far.
It feels like it's going to be a game where you want a fairly diverse cast leveled as there's some particulars with the cost,type and aoe vs st.

Most of the characters have a side chapter dedicated to them. I feel like it would be weird to bond with them before undertaking that particular chapter.
That said, it would make sense for a system like that to exist. Your heroes are constantly mentioned in the story and it is literally your power to be able to summon them. There's a few cases where the heroes respond to you or wave to you as well.
So I don't really know what's meta and if it matters that it's meta. Do I keep:

Personally I think Cinderella is probably the most broken unit.
3 cost, ranged, with a free 25% HP shield every round (so you can even just put her solo into a lane) Provided everyone faster gauge regen.
It's pretty nutty. Dracula I don't think is as OP as people make him out to be. He is exactly what I expect of a fricking 5(!) cost character. If anything for that huge cost it may be a little lackluster.
I have one other really awfully strong 4 star character. Forgot the name, but she costs 3, heals after every 2 attacks and has one of the silliest debuffs in the game. Her active lasts 10 fricking seconds and silences (aka no more specials) all enemies AND fricking reduces their attack speed by 50%. Like seriously, what else does a unit need? Couple this with White Rabbit and/or Cinderella and laugh at how nothing does anything anymore.
Dracula is just a normal tanky unit with nice aoe cleave. But 5 cost is a big thing. Some of these 3 cost units however.. damn son.

based i used odilee too as my sole healer. the 4* red evil tank lady is also fairly OP. her ult hits everything, i agree Dracula seems to be falling off as i progress through chapter 4 challenge mode

a)Dracula, round 2 Bathory, round 3 some 3-cost (got Goldilocks now)
b)Bathory, round 2 Aurora, round 3 some 4-cost (Kaguya or March Hare probably)
Today I could actually play and unlocked everything.
I still think the game is interesting, concept-wise, but there are some things I don't really like.
-Daily equip quest. This basically forces you to do the battle gauntlet every day, to get that. I'm not sure if this guarantees 5 (my first try gave 5), but even if it does... that's a bit annoying. There are also a few other things to do in dungeons, but at least you can "sweep" them, as you need stuff. (as in play once, let it count as multiple times)
-pvp. Pretty much every gacha pvp I know understands that you shouldn't make it important. This game made it important. The pvp system is also obnoxious, as you only find one player which you can re-roll, instead of immediately giving you a few to choose from. It's also "attacker can control their shit, but defender can't" garbage.
This pvp smells like awful meta BS, as I don't see enough RNG factors either. And, again, it matters. The rewards are insane compared to what you generally get from playing other stuff.
I'll probably stick around till the next gacha, but that'll be it. A game with pvp like this is only going to end up being frustrating.

She's a 3 cost guardian who can get easy awakens due to being 3*, and has 25% magic damage reduction as an innate power. She's pretty tanky I guess but doesn't do much damage.
I have much better characters in global 6 5* compared to 3 in Asia. But I heard Asia gets better rewards. Should I change servers still? How much better are the rewards?

Though it doesn't matter much to me anymore. I hit level 20 with chars and realized that the biggest asset of the game, trying out combinations of characters with positioning and deploy cost and all that, is kinda ruined by korean grind. It's insane what they want you to do at level 20, I don't even wanna know how bad it gets past that. Doing that for every fricking char? Haha.
gonna guess non limited shit will eventually get added to standard but you never know. if you're not having any problems with your current team you're probably better saving and seeing what happens

Big Bad Wolf is based. Easy dupes for awakening nodes, 2% regen per sec, skill makes EVERY enemy do less damage so you can pop it at the start of a round while you heal up.
200 keys per day and you are done 2 weeks before it times out. Is that really that hard?
Early on you get a lot of keys from levels, and once you have some levels, you have enough max keys that using all keys once per day is enough to do it in 45 days.

That on the other hand is true. 10 bucks for a 10 pull and a leg weapon is... meh, given that you need to unlock that shit as well. The free stuff is free, so I don't judge it. But I think the shop offers better ways to spend 10 bucks.. though I'm not entirely sure.

How? You literally get points for any gameplay you do. Like under normal circumstances you should spend your keys anyways (aka your stamina). It recovers by 1 every 5 minutes or so.

Yeah, that's arguably unnecessary, but practically doesn't change too much. Yes, you need to play 30 days. But you have 45. In other gacha you may not have the limit, but only 30 days. (i.e. Artery Gear)
It comes down to roughly the same. I'd understand if you'd only have 30 days for this. But 15 days buffer means it's a non factor, unless you start late. But that's them losing money on potential advanced passes sales, and not really our issue. (who'd buy shit that you can't fully clear?)
So, according to the story, anyone with a sufficiently powerful will can manifest themselves back into reality and even pick up and protect their own memory shard. For all intents and purposes, you effectively gain immortality as long as you can keep up that level of will. I would assume there are caveats like not being able to bear or sire children or else this just seems like a straight upgrade.
Holy shit all these people with Alice as their support unit when all of the difficult content I need to clear is water and there's like, 2 nature units in the game.

There are extra stories you can get for some characters. But right now dialogue and the personal stories are very lackluster.

-Korean grind. Getting character up is too much work way too early, which sucks given that the game should encourage experimentation. Even without that, you need at least 10.
-Annoying korean grind. Some upgrade materials are locked by day, while others are handled in a really obnoxious way. The class related upgrade materials you get from main stages have a chance to drop. Not one, but three. Yesterday I did a 9 sweep and got 27 fricking materials (9x3). Today I did a 5 sweep and got 0. This shouldn't be. Also further shows how shit the RNG is in this game. Clumpy as frick.
They COULD just drop 2 guarantees and RNG a +1, but nope. Gotta make the sweep function bad.
-Really annoying korean grind. Dailies and weeklies are artificial. The sweep function exists precisely so you can get a lot of whatever you need in a relatively short amount of real time. Yet you have to get 5k gold every day. Why? If I need gold, I do a 10 sweep and then I'm good. The entirety of dailies and weeklies are like this. Waste your time with shit that the game system isn't compatible with. They really act as if sweep doesn't exist, or you shouldn't use it. And if you don't need shitty equipment? Can't do your dailies or weeklies. Like seriously, what the frick.
Not worth. A lot of things to improve, that I honestly doubt would be improved. And even if they did that, the game lacks character diversity. Even after all those free pulls we got, I only really have dark, fire and water. (ignoring 3 stars) COULD be RNG hell, but I feel like there's more.
Everything wrong with the game and you got hung up with the least important aspect of them. The thing that kills this game is how little reasons the game manage to give you to care about anything. We got these gorgeous drawn art, a good enough setting, stellar music, and there's barely any character in a unit for me to open my heart. I don't fricking give two fricks about them above them being cute or hot. There're no relationships being established between me and these fictional characters beyond nostalgia from old bedtime stories and my need to frick them if any.
They have commited the first gacha failure sin. The failure to sell love.

So they increased daily keys by a ton. Ignoring the whale gem deals for keys, >50 keys for 1k gold (20 gold/key) >50 keys for 10k gold, x 5 (200 gold/key) >100 keys for 60k gold, x 2 (600 gold/key) >150 keys for 145k gold, x 5 (~967 gold/key) >90 keys for 900 guild points
Doing gold daily on difficulty 7 iirc I got 48,600 gold for 80 Keys, so 607.5 gold/key so the 1k and 10k gold Keys are definitely worth it, 60k gold Keys are just barely profitable (but will become better once you can beat difficulty 8+ of the gold daily), and the 145k keys are probably not going to be profitable anytime soon unless there's a noticeable jump in difficulty 8+ rewards
Damm. This game kinda sucks right now (besides the constant bug fixes and maintenance giving us a bunch of free shit). I hope they add more stories to individual character once this game goes to launch. I wonder if we'll even get a popularity boost at launch.

Yeah I've been using BBW instead of going with Dracula like everyone else and she's extremely solid (and also cute as frick). Self healing for 600 each tick when I use her with Little Mermaid. Halfway through the last chapter with her.
I also have two of the three awaken bonuses which gives her 40 percent extra hp percent and 15 phys res. I'd get her 50 and invest even more in her but I gotta dump keys in rifts before the end of the week.
Also want to add her skill is sleeper OP. It's map wide and hits every enemy, lasts a long ass time and has a quick enough cooldown to have it up permanently.
How the hell did you get that many constellations? Luck? Rerolling that shit with 4 nodes locked costs gems and frick that.

I spammed rerolls but didn't touch the gems reroll option, so 4k gold per reroll. Cost a bit to get the 2 set bonus but wasn't too bad. I'd consider going for the full set bonus but I imagine that would take way too much gold to luckshit at this point, and Big Bad already feels good. enough.

I don't know if she's a meta option or anything, but she's a solid frontline option for me since I don't have Dracula like everyone else, and he's all I see people talk about. I'm also looking into other 3 stars since we're gonna eventually max them all out.

Other wolf user here, I feel like Gretel and Huntsman might be good since they are both ranged (meaning they can stay safe) and they cost 2 (meaning you can easily deploy them). I'm not sure if their stats are any good, but since gear doesn't scale to the rarity of the unit there should be less of a gap if you give them high level gear. Does this seem like sound logic?
Looks pretty good actually, as expected of the KR pvpautists. As someone with Dracula I feel like he actually fell off pretty hard after around Chapter 4 where the enemies completely chew through him even if you have a healer, and Snow White is way better as your frontline just due to sheer bulk + 50% HP revive.

Big Bad Wolf is saying she's happy that night is approaching so she can sneak around. Other times I've heard her complain about how it's noon and everyone can see her coming.
My current setup:
Round 1: Alice, Red Knight, Cinderella, Dorothy
Round 2: Add Little Match Girl
Round 3: Replace Red Knight and Little Match Girl with Snow White and Queen of Hearts
The other three slots are filled in by underleveled Bathory, Cheshire Cat, and Hook .
Old gepetto's summon was 50% of his stats, right? After the patch it's 20% so it's worse. Not sure though I don't use gepetto because I think he's pointless without dorothy to shield his summons.

What the frick. Characters don't get weaker, and I haven't been using support characters.
I don't know why skills have cooldowns when there is 1 (one) way to lower them (White Rabbit) and a million ways to increase energy regeneration. My dudes just sit around at energy cap unable to cast spells half the time.
Not sure if it's completely by class or if individual characters have slight variations in their cooldowns, but from what I've seen from the characters I use, mages have like a 2 second cooldown. They're never gonna cap out on energy because their cooldown is so low. Warriors have a decent cooldown, single-target warriors aren't really going to cap out on energy but aoe ones like Dracula can cap out on energy in PvE since they'll get a bunch of free kills from trash mobs when they use their skills which caps their energy back up. Sages have stupidly long cooldowns and even on the really long pve stages even using their skill twice is tough and they'll be sitting at max energy constantly. I haven't been using rangers so no idea on them.
The rate up currency is so damm hard to get in this game instead you get useless yellow perm gacha currencies. Imagine if the perm gacha pool gets even more diluted than it is already. I hope they fix this shitty system
The defender gets 2 more deploy points which can be an entire extra 2 cost character (these are not a joke and require significant effort to kill if geared).
The opponent select screen shows you a higher combat value for the opponent than what they actually have fielded. On top of this, characters of the same relative strength have wildly varying combat power, making this measurement worthless in the first place.
You cannot tell what units the enemy is using until you accept the battle. They don't even need to include their "main" (favorited) unit. giving you no indication what characters they have fielded.
99.9% of players have their ranged units in the front and their melee characters in the back. This is in direct conflict with everything the game teaches you in PvE content.
You can't select when to use your abilities, which leads to characters with long cooldowns being interrupted due to bad timing and never getting to cast again, or characters with cleanses/dispels using them immediately instead of when they'd have the most impact. This gives them a significant disadvantage compared to characters who have stronger damage/heal abilities with no added effects that are easier to use universally.
You cannot view a character's element or class once you're on the battle screen, which screws you over if you don't remember a character's element, class, or even their name just by looking at their chibi sprite.

First event announced for the 27th, they've said we're able to get "multiple" 5-star dupe tokens from the event, but they didn't say whether it's for a specific 5-star or if they're going to be nice and give us a universal token that can be used on all 5-stars
I imagine Briar Rose will get one, and all future event characters. Small chance for the universal token, but there is a chance. Especially since they're trying to get some good will back from the botched launch.
I just hope we'll get tons of resources from the event. The amount of lost stamina I've spent for getting no LB mats at all is crazy, Ran 6-15 for 20x sweep and someone I didn't get a single one of them.
Summer skins announced for Alice, Snow White, and Esme; sounds like you can whale them or you can use affinity stones from Adventurer's Guild. Apparently the elements of the characters in your Dorm affect the rates of the affinity stones you get from the daily adventurer's guild thing too.
Dracula isn't really that good as global tier lists made him out to be, and also probably people not understanding how assassins work and getting their backline sniped
Dracula is also worthless in PVP cause he can't take advantage of his ramping passive. Global definitely overhyped the shit out of him because he was a brainless carry in the early game.
He still has an incredibly quick-charging spell that interrupts.
A) You can't command your units in arena to avoid playing into this.
B) An interrupted unit suffers the same cooldown period as if they had cast their ability.
So you can trade dupe frags you don't want now, but only certain ones. The shop for it has a clock icon just like the event though, so I guess it's going to rotate. Currently you can trade specific SSR frags for entirely different SSR frags (it's not random i.e. 1 Hook frag -> 1 Snow White frag), SSR frags for 15x Limited Summon crystals, SR frags for 2x Limited Summon crystals, 5 R frags for 100 keys.
Event has 2x Briar Rose (SSR) frags, 3 Vita (SR),15x Limited Summon crystals, 1x Energy Recharge SSR Armor, 1x Physical Resist SSR Accessory, and some materials/exp/gold. Overall better than I expected to be honest. I was expecting it to be like, 5x SSR frags -> 1 random SSR frag or something awful like that

Nothing about this game so far screams "HERE TO STAY!" but I don't see any signs of it falling flat on its face either. It might end up being a small little mobage that keeps on truckin' by not being overly ambitious.

They're serviceable, and since you have a unit cost limit in battles, you can't just throw out a horde of only 4 or 5 stars. You're going to have to mix in some lower rarity characters.
Cinderella is 5* and costs 3 deploy points. Cheshire is 4* and costs 3 deploy points. Big Bad Wolf is 3* and costs 4 deploy points.

Gameplay seems typical autobattler and some designs are nice. But without the fapbait or any kind of bond system the only real appeal seems to be the story and designs.

I don't think so. Like I said I had literally 10 pulls with the same unit 3 or 2 times. EVERY SINGLE TIME. It's a common RNG issue.
It also has nothing to do with being israelite or whatever. In fact, units have TONS of upgrades from dupes, just that a single doesn't do much. If the only way you get that shit is dupes, it's actually very israelite. Because getting that all WILL have a big effect. Just one or two are whatever.

When I was able to log in last night, the game played fine, hut when I tried this morning everything is super laggy. Not just the network stuff, even interacting with UI has several seconds of delay and sometimes taps don't even register.

There don't seem to be massive gaps in combat power between rarities, only the fact that higher rarities have more abilities and passives. So just pick whoever you think is cute.
I've been using Cheshire cat and Big Bad Wolf together just because those two characters mean a lot to me thematically, specifically together.
This is kinda hard to figure out though. Cost plays a big part of how strong a unit is. Low cost units are generally weaker than high cost ones. Then abilities, position and so on.
I don't have enough units to get a good idea. But I can say that 5 stars feel like they have a lot stronger abilities than 4 stars and such.

Hansel has a ridiculously high combat stat for being a 3* unit with 2 cost. He gets 20% more attack just for Gretel also being there, who also costs 2. Synergy plays a big part.
That's another question. What even IS the combat stat. Another 3 star unit has a lower combat stat but EVERY stat is higher. She costs 4 to deploy though. In other words, deploy cost MIGHT be part of this.
Hansel's stats are actually really bad. No Hp, no def, mediocre attack. He attacks relatively fast (assassin type), but that's it. He dies before this other 3 star unit has even taken half of her Hp as damage.
I also did some dungeon stuff, and did stuff with recommended combat stuff quite a bit above of what I had and it was pretty easy. Further raises the question what this stat even really says. It's not a simple addition of the actual stats like some games do it.
Hansel is pretty clearly supposed to be a glass cannon along with Gretel, but you have you control enemy aggro pretty hard to keep him alive and have guardians in there to take the heat for him.
I have no idea how the combat stat is calculated but comparing him to The Beast (6 cost) he actually has higher DPS even if he has like, 20% of his HP and defense.
I currently have a 5 star attacker who basically works like an assassin as well: Kaguya. Her special makes her jump to the back and hits the target for pure damage and a stun.. that I never saw because it generally kills.
Has like 200 attack level 9. But I did give her some equip which seems to matter quite a bit.
Curious system. Hard mode maps also seem to have specific challenges and seem to reward a pull. Hope they can fix the server. Game looks actually genuinely interesting to tinker around with.
Kaguya IS an assassin.
The combat system does seem pretty neat.
From what I can tell: the lane you put your characters on does matter, and they will walk down it and engage anyone they encounter.
Guardian - melee phys damage, typically very high defense/HP, seems to get targeted more often
Warrior - melee phys damage, well-rounded between damage and tanking ability
Assassin - melee phys damage, typically paper defenses/HP, seeks out ranger/mage/sage characters to take them out if possible, typically has an active skill to facilitate this
Ranger - ranged phys damage
Mage - ranged magic damage, usually has aoe, usually has a massive nuke as their active
Sage - ranged magic damage, usually has a healing passive, usually has a healing active but some have debuffs
I must make a correction to my own post. Some rangers are magical damage. Seems to be that rangers do single target damage while mages do area damage, as the split. Not sure. Maybe rangers are just the tankier ranged option while mages are squish.

Turns out there's some enemies that knockback your frontline and then murder your backline, and some guardians are immune to that. Also, the weekly dungeon has direct nerfs to healing and warriors in some days, so I guess they're not as bad as I thought.

Does party order matter or can you just slap anyone anywhere? Any reason to not use auto combat/deploy? I'm sure later on, assuming there is later on, it'll matter but not now.
It matters for auto, if your party is new, it deploys the first 4 and then the strongest characters, but if you played manually with that party, it copies your deployment, although not perfectly for some reason.
Eventually the stages need a bit more thinking and auto doesn't work as well, but before that there's no downside.
So what's the regen rate on keys? 3 minutes and 5 minutes are both pretty common.
I hope the devs manage to fix the issues and this game gets a bit more traction, the character designs are so fricking good.,

On top of all that they're going to be very generous with compensation come release in maybe a week or two, including at least one 5* selector and a ton o rolls so you'll likely get a few good units there.

There's a sweep function but doesn't appear to be a skip function.
You only need to clear the stage once if you're using the sweep, it counts as if you did all the clears at the same time. Not that great, not that bad.

There are few enough characters in the game that you'll probably get everyone and a few dupes before they add new people.
They're both pretty good, but I would go with bottom one, Dracula and Alice are known quantities and are really good. I personally think that the queens and Chesire Cat are really good, but we can't tell when everyone is in the early game.
Something to consider is that the asia server will probably be more competitive, but I'm not sure how much will that impact the game itself.

I mean, the odds are against them already, they removed guest account for easy and fast rerolls, their servers dies everytime someone wants to try the game, they are stingy with normal game rewards outside of compensations, asiatic VAs, no cool animation for the trigger skills, illusion connect rip off gameplay and etc.
The only thing that carries this game is the writing, art direction, music, UI and compensations. Gameplay is just a means to an end, is hard to enjoy something that is both not flashy and new.
Let see how they will do with events and new characters + how generous they will be in the future. Fricking shame the artists are stuck with this.

Speaking of PvP I'm noticing an issue here. The story missions that unlock the arena recommend 3500 power, but everyone I'm facing in the arena is like, 1000 power total. There's no way they are able to clear those chapters. Am I facing fake players?

Feels weird seeing dark and holy seemingly not any more rare/special than the normal elements. With the elemental stuff the game does, they really should be.
Got a strong elemental char? Will still suck against their counter. Got a strong holy/dark char? They kill what counters them even faster than the rest.
So yeah, dark and holy are clearly OP, so you'd expect them to be more rare. Yet I got so fricking much dark already.
Last game I played that used these exact same elements and the same counters, you had to summon people with crystals of their assorted colors. Light and Dark crystals were much rarer than the others. That game also did a thing where every character came in a fire, water, nature, light, and dark variant. The Light and Dark variants (typically) had higher stats, but there were exceptions in some cases.

The memory shards only work on the permanent banner, what I don't know is if new units will be added to it. Might be worth holding them to see how it works.

That's what it feels like. The game is super responsive once in a while, just to become super slow again, until the connection times out. However so far the server always knew what happened. I didn't lose drops or anything like that.
I don't think this is caused by too many people playing. Something odd is going on. It can go from smooth and fast to time out within a minute or two.

That's hard to judge with all the issues. There's a lot of potential, because of how unit placement and composition actually has depth, with the cost factor and such.
In the end it depends on how they plan on keeping you busy. (aka events and such) Wouldn't consider it my favorite, but I've seen much worse that is alive for quite some time and relatively popular.
In the end the best concept doesn't do anything, if the experience is bad because it's not used well. On the flipside a completely fine concept can be really good if they handle it well.

Most of the characters have a side chapter dedicated to them. I feel like it would be weird to bond with them before undertaking that particular chapter.
That said, it would make sense for a system like that to exist. Your heroes are constantly mentioned in the story and it is literally your power to be able to summon them. There's a few cases where the heroes respond to you or wave to you as well.

Cinderella, Alice, and Dracula are quite possibly overtuned. White Rabbit is very good for PvE content.

Dupes provide stat boosts in the form of things like 9% HP or 4% crit (it's randomized, you can reroll it, don't know how it works yet)
Personally I think Cinderella is probably the most broken unit.
3 cost, ranged, with a free 25% HP shield every round (so you can even just put her solo into a lane) Provided everyone faster gauge regen.
It's pretty nutty. Dracula I don't think is as OP as people make him out to be. He is exactly what I expect of a fricking 5(!) cost character. If anything for that huge cost it may be a little lackluster.
I have one other really awfully strong 4 star character. Forgot the name, but she costs 3, heals after every 2 attacks and has one of the silliest debuffs in the game. Her active lasts 10 fricking seconds and silences (aka no more specials) all enemies AND fricking reduces their attack speed by 50%. Like seriously, what else does a unit need? Couple this with White Rabbit and/or Cinderella and laugh at how nothing does anything anymore.
Dracula is just a normal tanky unit with nice aoe cleave. But 5 cost is a big thing. Some of these 3 cost units however.. damn son.

Today I could actually play and unlocked everything.
I still think the game is interesting, concept-wise, but there are some things I don't really like.
-Daily equip quest. This basically forces you to do the battle gauntlet every day, to get that. I'm not sure if this guarantees 5 (my first try gave 5), but even if it does... that's a bit annoying. There are also a few other things to do in dungeons, but at least you can "sweep" them, as you need stuff. (as in play once, let it count as multiple times)
-pvp. Pretty much every gacha pvp I know understands that you shouldn't make it important. This game made it important. The pvp system is also obnoxious, as you only find one player which you can re-roll, instead of immediately giving you a few to choose from. It's also "attacker can control their shit, but defender can't" garbage.
This pvp smells like awful meta BS, as I don't see enough RNG factors either. And, again, it matters. The rewards are insane compared to what you generally get from playing other stuff.
I'll probably stick around till the next gacha, but that'll be it. A game with pvp like this is only going to end up being frustrating.

Yeah they're good for getting up to 9 awaken buffs. You can reroll them for 1000 gold so it's quite customizable.

She's a 3 cost guardian who can get easy awakens due to being 3*, and has 25% magic damage reduction as an innate power. She's pretty tanky I guess but doesn't do much damage.

Every Gacha I know gets slower, the higher you get. Usually you get exp fast at first, then it slows down, and then additional shit is needed.

White Knight is my go to. Also Big Bad is surprisingly good.
Big Bad Wolf is based. Easy dupes for awakening nodes, 2% regen per sec, skill makes EVERY enemy do less damage so you can pop it at the start of a round while you heal up.

200 keys per day and you are done 2 weeks before it times out. Is that really that hard?
Early on you get a lot of keys from levels, and once you have some levels, you have enough max keys that using all keys once per day is enough to do it in 45 days.
That on the other hand is true. 10 bucks for a 10 pull and a leg weapon is... meh, given that you need to unlock that shit as well. The free stuff is free, so I don't judge it. But I think the shop offers better ways to spend 10 bucks.. though I'm not entirely sure.

Yeah, that's arguably unnecessary, but practically doesn't change too much. Yes, you need to play 30 days. But you have 45. In other gacha you may not have the limit, but only 30 days. (i.e. Artery Gear)
It comes down to roughly the same. I'd understand if you'd only have 30 days for this. But 15 days buffer means it's a non factor, unless you start late. But that's them losing money on potential advanced passes sales, and not really our issue. (who'd buy shit that you can't fully clear?)
So, according to the story, anyone with a sufficiently powerful will can manifest themselves back into reality and even pick up and protect their own memory shard. For all intents and purposes, you effectively gain immortality as long as you can keep up that level of will. I would assume there are caveats like not being able to bear or sire children or else this just seems like a straight upgrade.

There are extra stories you can get for some characters. But right now dialogue and the personal stories are very lackluster.
I was having that issue a few days ago, it's been fine since the weekend for me though.
Some characters have skills that interact with other characters but I guess that's still a stat/skill thing even though it's cool.
ie: Hansel and Gretel both get +20% attack when the other is on the field, Belle gets +50% healing when Beast is on the field.

-Korean grind. Getting character up is too much work way too early, which sucks given that the game should encourage experimentation. Even without that, you need at least 10.
-Annoying korean grind. Some upgrade materials are locked by day, while others are handled in a really obnoxious way. The class related upgrade materials you get from main stages have a chance to drop. Not one, but three. Yesterday I did a 9 sweep and got 27 fricking materials (9x3). Today I did a 5 sweep and got 0. This shouldn't be. Also further shows how shit the RNG is in this game. Clumpy as frick.
They COULD just drop 2 guarantees and RNG a +1, but nope. Gotta make the sweep function bad.
-Really annoying korean grind. Dailies and weeklies are artificial. The sweep function exists precisely so you can get a lot of whatever you need in a relatively short amount of real time. Yet you have to get 5k gold every day. Why? If I need gold, I do a 10 sweep and then I'm good. The entirety of dailies and weeklies are like this. Waste your time with shit that the game system isn't compatible with. They really act as if sweep doesn't exist, or you shouldn't use it. And if you don't need shitty equipment? Can't do your dailies or weeklies. Like seriously, what the frick.
Not worth. A lot of things to improve, that I honestly doubt would be improved. And even if they did that, the game lacks character diversity. Even after all those free pulls we got, I only really have dark, fire and water. (ignoring 3 stars) COULD be RNG hell, but I feel like there's more.
Everything wrong with the game and you got hung up with the least important aspect of them. The thing that kills this game is how little reasons the game manage to give you to care about anything. We got these gorgeous drawn art, a good enough setting, stellar music, and there's barely any character in a unit for me to open my heart. I don't fricking give two fricks about them above them being cute or hot. There're no relationships being established between me and these fictional characters beyond nostalgia from old bedtime stories and my need to frick them if any.

So they increased daily keys by a ton. Ignoring the whale gem deals for keys,

Doing gold daily on difficulty 7 iirc I got 48,600 gold for 80 Keys, so 607.5 gold/key so the 1k and 10k gold Keys are definitely worth it, 60k gold Keys are just barely profitable (but will become better once you can beat difficulty 8+ of the gold daily), and the 145k keys are probably not going to be profitable anytime soon unless there's a noticeable jump in difficulty 8+ rewards
are the guild points worth it or should i be prioritizing buying something else in the guild shop

Damm. This game kinda sucks right now (besides the constant bug fixes and maintenance giving us a bunch of free shit). I hope they add more stories to individual character once this game goes to launch. I wonder if we'll even get a popularity boost at launch.

Yeah I've been using BBW instead of going with Dracula like everyone else and she's extremely solid (and also cute as frick). Self healing for 600 each tick when I use her with Little Mermaid. Halfway through the last chapter with her.

I also have two of the three awaken bonuses which gives her 40 percent extra hp percent and 15 phys res. I'd get her 50 and invest even more in her but I gotta dump keys in rifts before the end of the week.
Also want to add her skill is sleeper OP. It's map wide and hits every enemy, lasts a long ass time and has a quick enough cooldown to have it up permanently.

How the hell did you get that many constellations? Luck? Rerolling that shit with 4 nodes locked costs gems and frick that.
I spammed rerolls but didn't touch the gems reroll option, so 4k gold per reroll. Cost a bit to get the 2 set bonus but wasn't too bad. I'd consider going for the full set bonus but I imagine that would take way too much gold to luckshit at this point, and Big Bad already feels good. enough.
I don't know if she's a meta option or anything, but she's a solid frontline option for me since I don't have Dracula like everyone else, and he's all I see people talk about. I'm also looking into other 3 stars since we're gonna eventually max them all out.
Other wolf user here, I feel like Gretel and Huntsman might be good since they are both ranged (meaning they can stay safe) and they cost 2 (meaning you can easily deploy them). I'm not sure if their stats are any good, but since gear doesn't scale to the rarity of the unit there should be less of a gap if you give them high level gear. Does this seem like sound logic?

Dracula is overhyped. He's fricking strong, sure, but he can't win alone.
His prohibitive cost also requires you to pour most of your resources into him to make him worth it.

Looks pretty good actually, as expected of the KR pvpautists. As someone with Dracula I feel like he actually fell off pretty hard after around Chapter 4 where the enemies completely chew through him even if you have a healer, and Snow White is way better as your frontline just due to sheer bulk + 50% HP revive.
Yeah I just swapped Drac to Snow White, and Red knight being my offtank. No problems whatsoever. I couldn't progress through 4-15 with Drac.

Vita is free from Chapter 5 iirc. I've been using Belle since she's 3-cost and focuses on healing a single target which is better for most PvE
I like Rapunzel due to constant regen which fricks over the stages that give you burning or poison.

Old gepetto's summon was 50% of his stats, right? After the patch it's 20% so it's worse. Not sure though I don't use gepetto because I think he's pointless without dorothy to shield his summons.

What the frick. Characters don't get weaker, and I haven't been using support characters.
There was a big change in attack speed since the update yesterday, so enemies are hitting faster and harder then you're used to.
That's dumb. Also, I cleared 11 today for the first time, after that patch.
They also nuked the absolutely ever living frick out of energy recharge gear, if you were using that, granted it was obviously broken.
I don't know why skills have cooldowns when there is 1 (one) way to lower them (White Rabbit) and a million ways to increase energy regeneration. My dudes just sit around at energy cap unable to cast spells half the time.
Not sure if it's completely by class or if individual characters have slight variations in their cooldowns, but from what I've seen from the characters I use, mages have like a 2 second cooldown. They're never gonna cap out on energy because their cooldown is so low. Warriors have a decent cooldown, single-target warriors aren't really going to cap out on energy but aoe ones like Dracula can cap out on energy in PvE since they'll get a bunch of free kills from trash mobs when they use their skills which caps their energy back up. Sages have stupidly long cooldowns and even on the really long pve stages even using their skill twice is tough and they'll be sitting at max energy constantly. I haven't been using rangers so no idea on them.
Cindy gets to cast her special like... 3 times per fight maybe. I also use White Rabbit but she's never deployed wave 1.

The rate up currency is so damm hard to get in this game instead you get useless yellow perm gacha currencies. Imagine if the perm gacha pool gets even more diluted than it is already. I hope they fix this shitty system

The defender gets 2 more deploy points which can be an entire extra 2 cost character (these are not a joke and require significant effort to kill if geared).
The opponent select screen shows you a higher combat value for the opponent than what they actually have fielded. On top of this, characters of the same relative strength have wildly varying combat power, making this measurement worthless in the first place.
You cannot tell what units the enemy is using until you accept the battle. They don't even need to include their "main" (favorited) unit. giving you no indication what characters they have fielded.
99.9% of players have their ranged units in the front and their melee characters in the back. This is in direct conflict with everything the game teaches you in PvE content.
You can't select when to use your abilities, which leads to characters with long cooldowns being interrupted due to bad timing and never getting to cast again, or characters with cleanses/dispels using them immediately instead of when they'd have the most impact. This gives them a significant disadvantage compared to characters who have stronger damage/heal abilities with no added effects that are easier to use universally.
You cannot view a character's element or class once you're on the battle screen, which screws you over if you don't remember a character's element, class, or even their name just by looking at their chibi sprite.

You don't need both the affinty fragments are the free way to unlock skins.
First event announced for the 27th, they've said we're able to get "multiple" 5-star dupe tokens from the event, but they didn't say whether it's for a specific 5-star or if they're going to be nice and give us a universal token that can be used on all 5-stars
I imagine Briar Rose will get one, and all future event characters. Small chance for the universal token, but there is a chance. Especially since they're trying to get some good will back from the botched launch.
I just hope we'll get tons of resources from the event. The amount of lost stamina I've spent for getting no LB mats at all is crazy, Ran 6-15 for 20x sweep and someone I didn't get a single one of them.
I don't get it, how is my defense team beating anyone? I have successful defenses everywhere, even against people using WQ and Drac.
Crazy Rapunzel heals + WR's ER skill? I'm planning to do the same with Vita.
Also their backline is practically non-existent with your assassins.
Summer skins announced for Alice, Snow White, and Esme; sounds like you can whale them or you can use affinity stones from Adventurer's Guild. Apparently the elements of the characters in your Dorm affect the rates of the affinity stones you get from the daily adventurer's guild thing too.
Dracula isn't really that good as global tier lists made him out to be, and also probably people not understanding how assassins work and getting their backline sniped
Dracula is also worthless in PVP cause he can't take advantage of his ramping passive. Global definitely overhyped the shit out of him because he was a brainless carry in the early game.
He still has an incredibly quick-charging spell that interrupts.
A) You can't command your units in arena to avoid playing into this.
B) An interrupted unit suffers the same cooldown period as if they had cast their ability.

So you can trade dupe frags you don't want now, but only certain ones. The shop for it has a clock icon just like the event though, so I guess it's going to rotate. Currently you can trade specific SSR frags for entirely different SSR frags (it's not random i.e. 1 Hook frag -> 1 Snow White frag), SSR frags for 15x Limited Summon crystals, SR frags for 2x Limited Summon crystals, 5 R frags for 100 keys.
Event has 2x Briar Rose (SSR) frags, 3 Vita (SR),15x Limited Summon crystals, 1x Energy Recharge SSR Armor, 1x Physical Resist SSR Accessory, and some materials/exp/gold. Overall better than I expected to be honest. I was expecting it to be like, 5x SSR frags -> 1 random SSR frag or something awful like that
Finally my tin knight shards can be used for something useful

Is it worth to spend gems for briar rose?
She's the first 5* nature unit, a guardian with constant regeneration, damage reflection, and a skill that slows enemy attack speed and movespeed. She also one of the few units to scale off a stat other than attack, which ties into her being a tank. She's 5 cost which is steep, but she seems strong. I'll be using her because I like her aesthetic. People using plants as weapons is a relatively rare concept.
What kind of stats Alice needs in her equipment?
