    Why do they need one?

      >Why do they need one?
because its one of the most profitable multiplatform game in the western market? the only game that beats it in terms of pure gross revenue is PUBG and thats arguable.

99.99% of Genshin sales are in China while it's virtually dead everywhere else except maybe Mexico.
PUBG hasn't printed money in a very very very long time and isn't even in the top 50 most profitable Steam games anymore, a publicly available list, due to having a huge number of players who own the game and don't spend extra money.

China is irrelevant in the gaming market outside of China.

MS already have plenty pc games and now they want to expand into mobile.

Money duh, but as you know Microsoft is fricking moronic who passed up on spiderman, RE4, and gta3 aswell. If Xbox didn’t have Microsoft money they 100% would have closed down already

They don't. It's against their guidelines for characters.

Xbone is dying in a few years because some homosexual decided to spend billions on game studios then do nothing with them. They need a gambling game to break even or else

what "plans"? you think china will let xbox own part of their games? lmao they have to MAKE their own, unless they mean something like sony where they just have genshin on their system, but good luck, all the current ones we know of are getting on playstation.

with that said, why not make a waifu game? the then you can have crossovers like putting master chief in to get the "dude bros" on board. all the chinks are just copying genshin 1 for 1 with ui/graphics/etc, why not western devs? just replace girls with new girls, same shit. all gacha are the same, just different flavors of girls.

    they have palworld

      Anonymous

      >they have palworld
      palworld doesnt provide steady revenue.

what xbox wants is its own cashcow that provides steady monthly income and draws new players to their platform and/or storefront. like fortnite, genshin, pubg, etc.

traditionally monetized games like palworld that have a one-and-done purchase price have very low profits when compared to live service games that continually produce profit over time and draw in new players even after being out for years.

microsoft bought blizzard and wants to put world of warcraft on mobile, etc but world of warcraft is just too dated to compete in that arena. they need a more casual live service game built around microtransactions instead of the traditional mmo subscription system.

they want a 'core' product that they can plaster all over any xbox promotional media that retains players that they can show to investors and say 'look, we understand how the market has changed and now we have a new product that can actually compete with the industry leaders' - because without a game like that(it was suppose to be the HALO franchise and they flubbed that years ago) investors see the platform as inherently weaker and more prone to failure than its competitors who all have 'that' iconic game they can promote.

sony is in a similar boat, they tried relying on shit like final fantasy but even that has failed.

out of the old hardware platforms only nintendo holds the line with its mario/mario kart/pokemon franchises. sony and microsoft have lost the image of having a 'core game' tied to the brand. thats bad for business. they need to have a game that everyone wnats badly enough to use their platforms. they currently dont have one.

Maybe, then they will put it on your fridge, tablet, phone, pc, playstation and switch and no one buys an Xbox. Very good strategy tbh

    They could easily have one.
    >Genshin clone but with the Warcraft IP
    >Stick the Hots team on character design
    >Class system instead of elements
It''ll be even easier getting people to roll on things like weapon banner when they can use well know weapons from their games.

I can't blame them. A Chinese dev making a gacha game? In 2018-19? Yeah right, sorry this isn't our thing.

    How could they possibly?
The c**ts working at Microsoft find the characters, which made it appealing to degenerate whales, extremely problematic and heckin yikesy.
The game will be sabotaged in the character design stage by their own diversity hires and then it's just burning money.

Why do they always pick the most randomass characters for stuff like this?

  25. 5 days ago
    Anonymous

They'd have to make even remotely appealing characters for that to work, so no. A gacha where every character is either a fat black woman or a regular looking guy who's made to be weaker than all the female characters won't sell.

Gacha mostly thrives on fanservice, besides it's a ultra competitive market, for every new gacha another 10 dies.

Feels like is just suits looking at numbers and just demanding it.

Microsoft doesn't want devs to make attractive female characters so their game will flop anyway. No one is spending money on gacha to get ugly characters.
