I don't know what the point of this "gift" is. Are offline players using Home? Because at this point, who doesn't have all of the starters? And ability patches are just given out for every 7-star raid.

Probably, because there's no way to evolve any of them in SV.

      Yes
      >Linking Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet to Pokémon HOME will allow players to move Pokémon freely between Pokémon HOME and their game—just remember that Pokémon can only be moved to games that they appear in. For example, Dolliv cannot be moved to Pokémon Sword, Pokémon Shield, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon Shining Pearl, or Pokémon Legends: Arceus because it does not appear in those games. A Pikachu from Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, however, can be moved to those games because it appears in them. Additionally, the Tera Type of Pokémon moved to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will be determined by their original type or types.

I don't see what this says about transfer moves, this is done within HOME itself rather than in SV. If anything it looks like a remedy for people who were mad about event moves being nuked when they were sent into BDSP/PLA

Does this mean you can still keep moves from all the way back to Gen 3?

Does this mean you can still keep moves from all the way back to Gen 3?

It's a nothingburger. Literally just choosing what level-up moves you give it before transferring.
      >When bringing a Pokémon from Pokémon HOME into a linked game, you will be able to change the moves it knows from a list of moves it has learned up to that point. These moves are limited to moves that can be learned in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl (some moves excluded), Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. This will allow you to have your Pokémon know the moves you want it to before moving it out of Pokémon HOME.

The Japanese updated their Home page with all their details. It's not tweeted, but stated here.

I do not own a Switch at the moment, so I cannot confirm if how this functions.
They are talking about move relearning here, but it doesn't sounds like to tell much about it.

How does HOME handle stats for PLA Pokemon? Like, if I grit trained a Pokemon to max, then transfer it to another game, does that meanthe pokemon now has max EVs or something?

Sorry, I don't have a HOME subscription. I refuse to pay for that shit.

      Anonymous

HOME transferring is entirely free dude, the paid shit is either extras like more GTS slots or moving mon in from Bank (which you'd only really need to do once anyways). Just test it yourself when the update drops

        Anonymous

        >Just test it yourself when the update drops
Haven't you always been able to transfer PLA Pokemon to BDSP or Swh? If so, what happens to grit training when you trade compatible PLA mons to those games

      Anonymous

They have IVs when caught in PLA, grits won't affect their stats in other games.

      Anonymous

I don't know if it's stored when moving back, but it has no effect when moving from PLA to another game. PLA still keeps track of EVs and IVs normally, but they're hidden.

        Anonymous

        >PLA still keeps track of EVs and IVs normally, but they're hidden.
So the Pokemon that I used on my PLA pokemon have EVs that are being tracked in PLA? Meaning that when I transfer them to SV, their EVs will be all screwed up?

Shit, I was afraid of that. Now I'm going to need a shit load of EV reducing berries...

I wouldn't be surprised if this length of time was to set up Pokemon from Gen 9 being able to move backwards to Gen 8 (which hasn't been possible since Gen 2) and implement the move memory feature.

I doubt it would have taken them over half a year for that. They already have all the databases, and all the games have fallbacks for unexpected data.
They waited for your subscription from last year to run out.
