nah just a spiritual succeeder made by someone that isn't ubisoft. make it historically authentic no forced women by pink haired female devs, Turn it into a game about ACTUALLY being an assassin kinda like the hitman games. No one man army bullshit like in other mediocre slop games

Mirage is just more Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla shit, the farthest away from AC1.

It's not. It was made using the same engine and mechanics ad Valhalla and was originally supposed to be an expansion to it. It still has damage sponge enemies with bad Witcher 3 clone combat, along with gear and special abilities/powers.

        >Witcher 3 clone combat
After hearing the opposite, I watched some gameplay and it's now mostly one-shot kills and with less open world bullshit. The teleportation power is stupid but fortunately optional so it doesn't bother me.
That's why I'm curious, because I keep seeing people telling that it's like Valhalla but I'm not sure if they've actually played to Mirage or if they just judged based on the trailer.

No way, really? After it was marketed so hard as the 'return to simpler times' or some shit so hard? Hysterical, they really can't do anything right.

I actually finished the game yesterday and yes, it's very close to the earlier titles in the series. Depending on the difficulty the enemies can become somewhat spongy, but not to the extent of the enemies in valhalla or odyssey.
There's still a skill tree but massively trimmed down and without any active rpg-like abilities like in the previous games.
Combat is pretty simple (you have a light attack, heavy attack, parry and dodge) and the focus is on stealth. All enemies (this includes bosses) die when you use your hidden blade, regardless of their health.

been playing mirage on and off. it is my first assassin's creed game since Unity, before that I played 4 and every one before it. it is definitely similar to 1, ezio trilogy and 3. the parkour feels sloppy sometimes, and they've made it even easier i feel, but it's pretty much the same. the combat is simple but not as simple as AC1 and AC2, you have to attack them a bit and then you can instakill them. it still has moments like when ezio does his RIP part to talk to the villains which was always kino. the world feels a lot similar to AC2. i honestly felt like the pacing in the beginning was pretty fucked. it's like they tried to capture that feel of AC2 had in the beginning but really rushed it too hard. the game seems short but i haven't finished it. i only got to one major kill. the enemies are still stupid. i literally came out of the small crowd, assassinated 2 knights one after another while the guy i had to assassinate was right above and shouldve saw me, and i just walked up and killed him. i suck at devising ways to actually sneak around but i feel like its good. i never touched valhalla, origins, or the other one. i just know those are garbage. no hidden blade, no buy.

also idc what anyone says, the japan one and the one set in the witch era seems hella interesting even if its RPG bullshit again.

Finished mirage last month, it's basically them taking valhalla and then removing and tuning things so it's closer to AC1 and stuff. So it tries to be like it but it's not exactly close but it's a good enough attempt at it.

Most importantly the didn't want to pay Patrice Desilets so they fired the creator of the series. They then made Revelations with the last remainder of his ideas and have been stumbling about in the dark every since, trying to turn AC into a different franchise because they had no idea how to make AC itself fun without Patrice
