has there ever been a good video game remake? It seems every single remake I've ever played was inferior in some way to the original.

n, sane triloigy
and that's it, they fucked up spyro's
>n, sane triloigy
It took me a little while to understand what were you saying. And came to the conclusion that you are talking about depth of field, however I would like to remind you that those games were launched in different aspect ratios so that has to be the case umless you want to return to the old one, wich I have to admit never occured to me to play it that way.
>And came to the conclusion that you are talking about depth of field
No way, not with Crash's fucked up hitbox.
Original has much better sound design.
Resident Evil Remake
The Legend of Zelda on the SNES
Final Fantasy IV on the DS
Shin Megami Tensei Persona
Persona 2 on the PSP
hmm good point actually, those seem good
Hey what about FF3DS?
It was an improvement over the NES original, but it had its own share of design problems added to it and didn't fix some of the game's biggest problems, namely the Crystal Tower. Plus, like half the extra content it added is now completely inaccessible since it was tied to Nintendo WFC, including the Onion Knight class. I wouldn't recommend anyone play it over the Pixel Remaster these days.
>has there ever been a good video game remake?
Yes. The one and only, very original one.
This bad boy started the fever. It is still THE blueprint to which every single remake is compared to. Too bad next to no modern AAA trash de-make even wants to go to the lengths REmake1 did back in the day.
Really the one other one to even get close to REm1 might be the Nier Replicant v1.224..., which not only marked the first official release of the game's OG version, but also expanded the story and gameplay to include stuff from later released side content.
>Final Fantasy IV on the DS
This shit was insultingly bad. It's just fucking awful. Terrible voice acting, terrible localization, padding out of the arse.
it's shit as well.
t: I got BOTH day 1 back in the day, because I loved both on the OG systems years prior.
Not happy with either one of them. Emulate the original releases with fan translation.
Hey fuck you
The only negative about FF3 is that you had to zoom in to find hidden items. Which was annoying
Thankfully they removed that in FF4
>Emulate the original releases with fan translation
fuck that, i'll take the PSP version of 3 over that slow piece of NES shit any day
Resident evil 1 remake
...uhh I'm sure there's more I'll post again after scrapping the bottom of the memory bank
All have been inferior to me. I hear Resident Evil 1 remake is good and I've not gotten red flags from explanations, but I've never liked the horror genre, so I don't have first hand experience about it to say for sure.
RESI1 remake is honestly great, and like said it was arguably THE very first true remake of its kind + the one that inspired fans of every single retro game to desire a similar, faithful recreation of their favorite title as well.
That being said, not even REmake1 is a proper "replacement" for the 1996 original RE1. In fact, the REmake is clearly designed with the series' veteran fans in mind, as it smartly changes and expands a lot of things to keep the old players at the edge of their seats.
If you skip the OG trilogy and start with the REmake, you will miss on some truly sweet mindfuck.
Yeah remake is 10/10 but so is the og 1. Both must plays. I replay both quite a lot and still don't know which version I prefer
REmake1 is genuinely a proper remake. One of the only remakes that isn't shit and suffers from horrible "artistic liberties" or w/e.
Metroid: Zero Mission is also amazing if you can forgive the "zero suit" garbage. I don't care if its playable, that one little section of the game ruined the entire franchise.
metroid prime remaster is a pure upgrade
higher poly stuff while still fitting the original art style, and more control options as well as the original controls for purity sake.
The remake of the original Resident Evil. That's it.
REmake is a given and at least as good as the original but Re2 remake is quality too, whether it's better than the original is debatable but now for an unpopular opinion Re3 remake is also quality and I'd rather play it than the original
>its a zoomer post
I shigga digga doo
Everyone losing their minds over how faithful the Prime remake is right now. I only played the OG a little decades ago so I don't really know myself if it's faithful or not.
Even if you prefer Papa Nier, the remake completely invalidates the original in terms of quality.
based and Nierpilled
is the pc port still shit?
I had no issues with it whatsoever so I don't know. I really don't know what toasterfags are complaining about most of the time unless it's a really egregiously bad port like Wo Dong or something.
I played on PC and didn't have any issues. I don't remember anyone else complaining at the time either, so I'm not sure what you heard.
Nier Replicant, in every way except for some people wanted Grug Papa, but those people are retarded and gay so who cares.
Trials of Mana
Tactics Ogre Reborn
Metal Max Reborn and Metal Max 2 Reloaded
Devil Survivor 1 and 2
Resident Evil GCube
Shadow of the Colossus
Yeah thps definitely. Last remakes were great
Tphs 1+2 definitely. Literally the first two games made better in every aspect. Fuck I wanna buy a board and skate again but can't risk fucking myself up failing a trick and being unable to work. To worm no money, what a life huh
The MediEvil remake for ps4 was good. Except for the fact that it's permanently stuck on ps4.
They didn't remake re2. The devs themselves even said so - they called it a "reimagining".
This and Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song. Both took terrible games and the remakes made them amazing.
2002 remake of the first Resident Evil for GameCube
Destroy All Humans 1 + 2
Corpse Party Blood Covered
The most unforgettable horror porn game I've ever played. No other game had a bunch of elementary schoolers gangbang a teenage girl against a wall. And the teenage girl loved it. No other game I've played had a 17 year old bishonen guy drink a 14 year old girl's piss and chase her down the hall to rape her, only to wind up getting anally raped by a 32 year old fat man. I still remember the scene where a 16-17 girl was hiding under a bed as her same age best friend was having sex with that same 32 year old fat guy on top. She heard every moan, bed shake and sound. In the wrong end she was discovered under the bed by her friend and made to join. A most terrifying scene was when an unwilling girl relives another girl's sex memories. The girl in the memory consented but the reliving girl didn't. It didn't matter that she was mentally screaming, her body in the memory did all the motions and actions as in history. It's like mind control rape except the victim was fully aware. Another scene the same girl and a friend were almost raped in a magic sex ritual, saved by the girl's older sister, and the backlash made the older sister want to rape her younger sister and friend.
The e-boi in this pic is freakishly lewd and once disguised herself as a teenage girl, fucked a boy until he nearly came, transformed back saying
>You thought you were having sex with a highschooler weren't you? I'm an elementary schooler all along!
And leglocks that boy, forcing him to cum inside her unprotected, when he screams in fear upon learning this. This isn't even getting into the tentacles, the gay sex, the lesbian sex, the incest, the sequel's mother/daughter lesbian scene, etc. The first chapter alone contains lots of lesbian sex scenes with an unavoidable girl masturbating in the bathroom. Truly horror is intrinsically connected with sexuality.
This is really missing some of the best parts. I came buckets when one of the girl’s was fucked in a pool and the chad kid who liked her was forced to watch. The ending cg with the shot of the girl’s limp legs had me in diamonds. I also love the fact that all the tomboys have big boobs. And the scene where the main boy gets a double blowjob from his tomboy childhood friend and younger sister was great. The OVA had nice original scenes too. Once that chad kid was holding back a door when the ugly middle aged fatty used his tick to break through the door, aiming his dick right at chad kid's anus and lifted him into the air with his long dick. But we can't forget the double blowjob the main boy gets from his tomboy childhood friend and his little sister. Why do you keep on forgetting https://files.catbox.moe/8wpfo0.jpg?
Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver
No all of them are Shit compared to the Original
The Oregon Trail for Apple II
Yakuza’s remakes seem pretty soulful
I love K1 and 2 but on Ganker at least the prevailing idea is that the OG games are better. I don't believe that, but most people here do (or pretend to because I doubt many of them have played 1 or 2).
Honestly, Nishki is a SHIT villain in 1 and only with K1 and the expanded shit did they make it into an appreciable story. People going from K1 backwards to 1 will be shocked by how phoned in it is in comparison.
The OG games have nowhere as many gameplay improvements that the remakes got thanks to decades of advancement. If they played them, they'd find out there's tons of features we've taken for granted. Especially 1 just because it's the first. If they played Kenzan they'd realize similar.
I don't even get why that is a pasta or why that retards spams it. That's really fucking nothing in the world of eroge. Shit is not even as edgy as Muramasa.
NieR Replicant ver.420.69...
Crisis Core Reunion
LaD: Ishin! Kiwami
Panzer Dragoon remake
Metroid: Zero Mission
God, I fucking hope they never remake Super Metroid. Keep MercurySteam's shit-covered hands away from it.
and then they fucked it with exodus
I played Black Mesa recently and it was a lot of fun.
Final Fantasy IV (PSP)
Tactics Ogre Let Us Cling Together (PSP)
Resident Evil (GC)
Resident Evil 2 (PC)
