>have restarted the game like 12 times most of this was honor mode related and occurs early because I'd die to early level RNG shit like the crypt raiders and owlbear, though
I have restarted from act 3 three different times

>already in a failed ironman run
>new legendary actions
I am going to have to start over again aren't I?
I have to say RPGs really do have shit replay value, and this is coming from someone who played Mass Effect multiple times. Like even when the gameplay is fun, the dialogue stuff gets boring on replays because you know what will happen. I didn't finish midnight suns because the not missions got boring.

Every time I think about finally starting a playthrough I'll finish, I read about some new major patch in the works.

      Same.
Got to A3 and then found that a major patched fixed up a ton of content I did already. Just ended up falling off of the game.
Thinking about just waiting till the game gets whatever expansion pack that surely will be done and is done with major patches before picking it up again.

why would you ever try that in a game that uses lucky rolls on everything

If you played the game you'd know that there are ways you make your hit chance 100% and there are also spells that autoapply when their conditions are met. The game is a lot less random than people on Ganker would admit.

          Anonymous

Because the game really isn't random once you hit level 5. There are a few hard fights in the very early game and again at the very end of the game, but for like 95% of the game if you die its because you are a shitter.

the moved the release date up a month because they were worried about releasing at the same time as starfield because no one knew how shitty it was going to be so they were afraid of losing sales to starfield.
IDK if another month would have been enough to finish everything, but they 100% cut shit from act 3 in order to hit the release date. just the fact act 3 has shit performance shows they spent way more time on acts 1 and 2 than on 3

Yep. Act 2 is just so good.

        >An overarching villain that literally can't be killed, so he's immune to murderhobos
        >the permanent darkness complements the tone of Shar, Myrkul, and the Absolute's followers everywhere.
        >bad guys, like the goblins and Nere from Act 1 are devoured by this new all powerful army.

Act 3 is just too all over the place to really appreciate anything.

You must be doing something wrong if you're dying to the owlbears/crypt raiders. Do you know that you can ambush enemies and also navigate the map in turn based mode?

      Anonymous

the crypt stuff is just because I usually kill Astarian and Gale so I go into the crypt with 3 people. It depends on how the fight starts, if you drop the rock and pass the deception check the so you can blow up the barrel the fight is super easy, if you don't the fight can get RNG'd pretty bad.
the beach harpies, owlbear (with the legenadary action to call a second owl bear), gnolls and bridge gith are the hardest part of the game because the game is so RNG heavy at low levels. I would usually play on tactician, die one time early to RNG and then reload and wreck their shit. The only fights I've ever died to more than once were the gnolls and bridge gith because the bridge gith are usually a higher level than you.
I know how to play and am not a shitter.

        >you can blow up the barrel
Why are you blowing up the barrel? Don't break the crack with the stone either. You can stealth kill the patrolling character after you kill the door guard. If you don't make a ton of noise the other characters will be in the room with the books where you can ambush them and take out 1~2 from the ambush alpha strike.

          Anonymous

nah, you are a shitter. If you intentionally shoot down the block hanging outside and then pass the deception check at the door all the enemies in the crypt will stand around the oil barrel, by going in the normal entrance you can kill like 4 of the enemies with an alpha strike by having shart cast firebolt on the oil barrel. Its literally easier than fighting them in the back room. The issue is if you frick up the deception check at the door the fight becomes harder because they won't be standing next to the barrel and will be ready to fight.

Why are you wasting a barrel on those low lvl enemies? The only shitter here is you.

you literally get 2 more barrels right after, one by the guidance amulet and one by the KO'd halfing in the tunnel

Yea and you should be saving them for bosses not for the low lvl fodder.

I honestly don't see how you can lose to the crypt raiders of all things, they are very easily bottlenecked.

if you have 3 characters instead of 4 and get unlucky you can get fricked up. IMO the hardest fights in the whole game are
      >beach brains
      >crypt raiders
      >those 2 tieflings who have lae'zel in a cage
      >the harpies
      >owl bear
      >gnolls
      >bridge gith
      >dream gith
Its literally just an issue of not having things like aid and having low hit rates. I haven't died to the crypt raiders, beach brains, paladins, or tieflings in a while

The glitch retroactively applied to about 30 hours worth of saves somehow, going to leave it and see if the next patch sortes it out, seen other people with the same problem and there are no universal solutions at the moment

Yeah and they are likely the cause of the issue, although my biggest mistake was finally updating from patch 1 to the latest version, caused me nothing but problems even most of my saves got bricked

God damn you frickers are terrible. RNG aside alot of you actively play the game like absolute braindead morons. This is the effects of modern standards in gaming over the last decade.

the early game is pretty RNG. most people who play DND specifically don't play levels 1 or 2 and start their campaigns at levels 3 or 5. In fact wizards campaign books basically all start at level 3 and you have to play some tutorial module that doesn't really tie into the rest of the campaign if you want to start at level 1. The only time people really play as levels 1-4 is when they want to play a specific story where character death is common and fighting isn't really viable

I took me close to 120 hours to actually finish a run, whenever I got to act 3 I just lost all interest and simply made another character.

Act 1 is massive and takes a while to build up
Act 2 is way too linear
Act 3 is all over the place and outside of companion quests doesn't have a lot going for it

why the frick do you keep restarting? you shouldn't go into honour mode until you have the game down completely. I don't think anyone who plays honour mode keeps restarting it until they get to the ending.
