video game characters have so little depth that you must be an incredibly vacuous person if you find any of them worth looking up to.

      >videogame character

Eat shit. He was pretty damn great and he's got lots of golden interactions. His legacy was so strong that people sperged out over not being a successor properly and fricked all his progress. That's how you know he's legit. If your empire was both made and held together by a single man he's someone special.

So you make a thread about videogame characters you look up to, and you immediately start off with a non-vidya example. alexander would be insulted by your moronation

plenty of warlords managed to do that. In fact, its a lot more special to be able to pass on an empire without it falling apart.

          >plenty of warlords did that
No, they didn't. They established a small state and it fell apart because their people were barbarians.

If a state establishes itself as Hegemon and doesn't disintegrate once the leader dies you can see its rise as an inevitable result of its cultural progress. When a culture that has been on the back foot up until one generation ago becomes THE hegemon i.e of the entire known world with no real contenders in a single generation and slips back into obscurity because of the death of its leader and disintegration of the royal line you know you had something special in that line.

You have to understand that Philip and Alexander literally ruled the world. There wasn't a single force that could have beaten Alexander nor were there many people in his own employ who would frick him over. The very course of history would have changed if he didn't get some poo in the loo disease. Macedonia was not the fulcrum upon which the world turned. It turned for Alexander alone.

          >lots of warlords did that
No warlord managed from the age of roughly 18 to subdue all of Greece, then take an army abroad to fight Achaemenid Persia, then beat an empire that had held dominance for centuries in that area, march from the Black Sea to the Indus valley and the Hindu Kush, and put down every rebellion totally and utterly, and never once lose a battle, and out perform and out class armies sometimes 3x the size of yours, and only stop because your men beg you they cannot handle any more glory, and do it all in roughly 10 years.... then refuse to elaborate and dies. If any man was a gigachad it was Alexander of Macedonia.

Coronation at 34. Ruled for 35 years. His conquests were pretty kino. Also Philip had BARELY turned Macedon into a functioning non barbarian city state at the time and the Greeks were quite advanced at the time. Even at such a late stage to have conquered the Spartans was a feat.

Daily reminder there is literally ZERO sources for Alexander the great having any homosexual interactions and numerous ones with female.

gay shit in history is moronic and I don't care for it. At most it sounds jocular, not homosexual.

The only man I'd ever call a hero is Josip Tito.

        >not Jan of the Hussites

I have no heroes and never have looked up to anyone.

I was like this as a kid. I think it's somewhat healthy and somewhat unhealthy. The Amerimutt tendency to worship heroes is fricked but at the same time it's a neurological fact that we learn most effectively through emulation. A hero is someone we wish to be and may feasibly become. Anything outside of that relationship is slave morality moron shit

Sure there are people I have learned from and trust their guidance for. But if there is someone who I wish to be, then that person it myself. I am my own hero.
