used to go to the vidya bargain bins in walmarts and grab a buncha games and put them in my cart (filled with a buncha red herrings) and walk around the store, using my carkeys to pop the plastic and put the discs in my pockets, leaving all the cases in some cooler or something. then i 'd go to gamestop with a fake id and turn it in for $$$.
one time i did do the same for guild wars 2, but with the actual intent for playing it. was neat because you didn't even need the disc, just the piece of paper inside with the game key, no subscription too. was a fun game for a couple hours.

Same, except for me it wasn't even about the games. My brother (who is five years older than me) would steal shit from me, primarily video games, to buy cheap drugs. I was too young to even realize what was going on, so I assumed I was misplacing the games and being driven insane. Making up random excuses to my friends and parents.
Then I find out years later it was my brother, and my parents who knew about it and lied. Frick the video games, I just wish they had told me the truth and made any discernible effort to help my brother.

      It's kids. They're dumb.
You think you're best friends ever just because you hung out for a day and watched digimon together.
You're expecting a level of emotional depth from children that isn't really developed.

I swiped his copy of Glover from the moving box when he wasn't looking, figuring that he wouldn't miss it and they wouldn't know.

    1) I could have just asked him for it. That's what I really regret the most.

Getting 2 nds games in one christmas was wild and rare because we were so poor. He literally stole them from under my christmas tree when his mom would have just gotten them for him if he wanted. I couldnt find them anywhere and was sad. When I went to his house a couple days later he just happened to have his mom "get them for him". Wrote his name on the cartridge in sharpie to stop me from taking them back even though it was obviously mine. Deleted my saves too. He admitted to it years later and said he would get me replacement ones but never did. I decided to just borrow a few of his games and never give them back because he was too dumb to notice anyway. He also abused his cat so frick him. It was Mario 64 DS and Yoshis Island DS for those curious.

I stole a copy of Final Fantasy from Toy Works in the mid 90's. It was in the bargain bin. I could have bought it no problem but I had been stealing packs of Magic cards there daily for months I felt like I didnt have to pay for anything. Thank god the people who worked there hated their jobs. They made it so easy.

I didnt even have a nes at the time to play it but I had all the square rpgs for snes so I wanted that too. It stayed in my closet sealed till about 2000 or so when I decided it was time to grow up and throw out all my toys. I fricking threw away all my fricking vidya and vidya related shit bros. I had all the FF7 figurines. threw my snes and ps1 and all my games which I autistically kept in mint condition with the boxes, manuals, registration cards, and any other piece of shit paper that came in the box.

Nothing about that situation was cool or warranted, anon. I'm sorry if you are the type of gay who steals shit in order to seem like you're cool, but it's not cool-- it's weird and pathetic.

I’m degen trailer trash but back when I was like 13, me and my buddy from down the street would steal his moms car, drive to a place called “liquidation world” and shoplift the bargain bin shit games that they had. Can remember getting stealing some dragon ball game for game boy advance, midnight club for 360, mafia I think. I still have a San Jose Sharks sweater I stole from there, 15 years later.

I brought a "friend" over to my house who tried to leave with all my gba games in his pocket when I was nothing but nice to him. Luckily my mom caught him. I was too trusting of a kid in this shitty world. People are just buttholes.

My friend decided to join the military because he didn't know what he wanted to do in life so he figured that was the thing for men to do in that case.
He was a huge fricking nerd. His parents were rich but wanted to kick him out at 18 years old or help fund his college career. Staying at home wasn't an option.

So when he left, his parents were going to pawn off all his video games. He had everything. Think of every JRPG on the SNES, PSone, PS2 he had them. One week before his parents clean out his room I came over to visit with the intention of taking all of his video games. I was on friendly terms with their parents so I convinced them to leave for food while help clean up their yard. Little they knew I had a spare house key, went in and sacked somewhere close to 100 games, left and never saw them again. When my friend returned from the military he became a huge gay and latered died from a heart attack because he grew to 500 pounds.
Still have all those games too.

Well, I wasn't going to return those games at all. I wasn't that close with the guy and mostly stayed on close terms as a free video game rental service. He had so many video games his parents never noticed that 100 or so were missing. I just took all the rare RPGs and N64 stuff.

I ran a video game stealing ring in high school. Kids would pay us a discounted fee and we’d steal games for them. Our best guy almost got caught but managed to use his diabetes to get an excuse to go to the bathroom and he just ran out the door.

I borrowed battlefront 1 (the EA one not the great one) from a roommate and forgot to return it to him when he moved out. I apologised and offered to send it back to him but he said it was all good and I could keep it. That was the closest I got to 'stealing'

The closest I've got is that my older brother gave me his PS3 for Christmas when I was younger, but took it and all the games I got for it back the moment he found out I got a PS4.
Gifters remorse was just too much for him to stand and I can understand that, but I can't help but hold a grudge against him for it, I was under the impression that the PS4 had complete backwards compatibility like the PS2 and PS3 did, so nowadays whenever I see gameplay of games I grew up with but can't play it makes me sad and frustrated, especially when he doesn't even play videogames as a hobby anymore, he just wanted it for the sake of having it.

No but I stole from my 10th grade class once. I was one of the "good students" who also had the best grades but I was also learning I was a deviant. One time my class went out to the computer lab but I forgot my graphing calculator in my backpack and the teacher gave me the keys back to the class since he locked it up. When I got my calculator and was about to leave, I noticed I was all alone with a bunch of backpacks. So I rifled through a bunch of them, found a wallet in one, took 50 bucks from it and put it back and then looked at this girl's backpack and stole her P.E. bikini. That was like 15 years ago and I can still smell the bleach of the pool water on it which is actually pretty gross. No one ever talked about missing their stuff and that year was almost over anyway.

I borrowed my friends PS2 to play FF12. And then I was forced to move my sister's apartment to a new location and move my apartment to her old one. After that I was kicked out with nothing to my name. Sorry Kyle.

No, but I did exploit a return policy but I was very open and honest about it
The local game store had a deal where you could return a used game in 24 hours if you weren't satisfied for store credit. So I asked the clerk if it would be if I bought 1 game and beat it then returned it the next day for store credit then did it again and again. He said it was fine as it was within the rules. So I made a list of all the games based on price, expected game play times and difficulty and planned out my summer. Started with the most expensive, shortest and easier games so I could keep the run going longer. I then processed to use the store as a rental service, for the cost of one expensive game ($60) I played nearly every game in the store. Beating over 67 games in 67 days. It was great, I didn't have much money so it let me play games like the other kids at school had that I couldn't couldn't have afforded. Over that summer my gaming skills reached legendary levels, eventually I was beating hard games in half the time as my friends. But it stopped when a man I had never seen took my picture of me and then started yelling horribly profanity with a deep red rage face and calling me a thief, telling me he had my picture and I was banned from the store for life and he'd call the cops if anyone saw me in the sore again. I tried to talk, but this guy and didn't give me any chance. From his yelling he claimed to be the store manager and I ended up just leaving out of fear he might attack me given the unstable behavior he displayed. A few days later I walked up to the store but stopped at the door when I saw a picture of myself in what looked like a wanted poster saying that if this thief was seen in the store he was to be detained and and call the cops. I guess the anger man was really the manager. It sucked as it was the only place that bought used games, I couldn't afford to buy new games as I had always sold them the game at a loss to help pay for the next one.

    Yes. Two games.
Yoshi island for 3ds and tekken tag tournament for wii u.

At the time I was working in a shitty vidya chain of stores here in my shithole. The opportunity came and i stole these two games.

I don't have any guilt, because their are pretty shitty with their customers and workers.

Me and an old friend used to get used games from pawn shops, Reseal them using dvd plastic and an iron and return them to Walmart for full price. Got new games all the time for like 5 dollars a shot.
