I find most addicts are playing multiplayer shitgames, which make a point of making their games addictive.
Myself I play skill-based single-player action games with slow, long burns. Like Iceborne, and now Nioh 2. I'm not addicted to gaming so much as it's the only thing I like to pour my free time into. Granted, I should be making better career prospects so that I can live comfortably, but I'm broken like that. Thankfully my current job involves heavy lifting, so I'm getting SOME exercise to stave away aches from lack of fitness.

Yeah cuz that shits easy so that’s the that’s the time when I multitask, call my mom and dad catch up on YouTube videos. Have you moved away from your parents yet? When you do every phone call turns into an hour of nothingness but you can’t hang up because it’s your folks

          Anonymous

The last call I had with relatives after not talking to them in over 3 months was 20 minutes. I also actually text my mom and dad so they never feel the need to talk for more than 15 minutes on the phone with me. Maybe stop being such a weak willed homosexual and stress how busy your life is, and dedicate chores to the evenings that you get home from work. This is the formula to actually getting free time for yourself.

Then, they proceed to ruin whatever it is that's making me happy or bringing me fun because on some level they're jealous of it. Women are a meme. They have some innate drive to just prevent good times and I have no idea why the frick they would be designed that way. On some level they're all like some black person high on bath salts, ranting and raving, taking their clothes off, pushing their limits with you more and more and you're just like "ma'am can you calm down please...ma'am put the knife down...ma'am this is your last warning" and then they eventually just rush you and you have to put them down.

logically speaking anything outside knocking her up and helping raise kids runs counter to biological interests. So kinda natural they try to sabotage anything not benefiting.

          Anonymous

The definition of a sentient being is someone endowed with the free will to resist or just outright deny "biological interest" in favor of THEIR interest. If YOUR interest is identical to nonconscious drives, then I can say you lack consciousness. These women you refer to aren't people, literally. If you are incapable of free will outside your hormones you don't have a mind or ego that sees out of your eyes and are a meat-machine.

Damn that’s actually really sad. People like to compare video game addiction to gambling but it’s even worse because at least with gambling there’s an infinitesimal chance that you’re going to actually win. With games, once you spend money, it’s gone. There’s no ROI. I cringe knowing that in its prime I probably dropped a grand on Hearthstone, and now all those cards just sit there in a digital collection. Free money for blizzard and nothing to show for it

Its fine if its "Ima buy some skins to support the devs" but it gets fricked when you have these games that even allow you to spend that much doing very basic gameplay shit the average Ganker user wouldn't touch. But that shit works on people who aren't aware.

wrong, if wanna learn excel, play any firaxys/paradox game, MIN/MAX everthing, spreadshets for every scenario, statistics for battle outcome, savescum, highest wield in 20 turns, 50 turns, 100 turns. in time you'll learn to hate gaming as a whole and by the time you abandon it you'll be excel expert certificated which will look great on your resume for literally everything. Most people from my high school are still hanging out in their respective groups but lots of people found new friends. When I look on social media I'd say every 2/3 people from my H.S is still photographed with someone they knew in 2014 when we graduated. I didn't expect it either but it's very nice to have a solid group to always have then you can have other small circles if you want.

          >fat ugly bastard
I got expelled from my high school and went to a private school with people I had zero connections with so Idk this feel. I doubt if I went to a regular high school it would be much different. The one friend I had who I reconnected with as an adult ghosted me.

This is what people with game "addiction" don't understand. If you have nothing else in your life but videogames you will get depressed really quick and blame videogames because of that. If you read the post on that reddit group from OP you will read a lot of people saying they get depressed as frick after stopping playing.

While I occasionally will get so into a game I can't put it down and slack off on my other responsibilities, it's far more often that I can't find a game to get into so I "procrastinate" with busywork.

Don't be afraid to move on, you are probably missing out on the next fun chapter. I come here less and less, I had a few minutes while waiting for a call and came out of curiosity. Like going back to Newgrounds it is fun to look at the cover and think back, but inside it is nothing but a wrotten fruit. The worthless bugs who are content within it dont warrant anything

yeah, but then i realized i actually didn't like the games i was playing, all slow burn drip feed garbage that never left me satisfied.
switched to playing arcade games and retro stuff, and now i basically never play for longer than an hour but i enjoy that time so much more.

lmao, if you have to destroy your PC to stop playing it, then you're going to have a real hard time dealing with actual, real problems.

I've stopped playing games for a while at various points. Like I had a really packed semester where I didn't play anything for several months. More recently I've just moved on to other hobbies and won't play anything for a few weeks at a time. It's partly just because of y'all and how much you guys suck.

But I go scorched earth on all my problems, especially the real ones. The guy who sexually harassed me at work, for instance, sits behind bars.

i can't seem to really get addicted to anything. i try and try, but I inevitably get bored with any GaaS game after like 12-18 months and drop it cold turkey and never think about it again.

I once had a roommate that got kicked out of his house by his wife because he played PC to much. He and his wife just had a baby and apparently would not help her with the baby and just play PC all the time. Also he chose to have internet over food when he lost his job, so he got really skinny.

Mostly final fantasy online, he was a good roommate. Just stayed in his room the whole time except for bathroom and to get food. Also didn’t drink or do drugs but I guess gaming was his drug

i might this summer. probably not forever but i'm getting tired of the internet and media in general. even the good stuff, i can't be assed to enjoy.
biggest problem i'm facing is that i can't think of anything else i want to do.

I'm mostly over video games. I'll play an occasional new release like hogwarts/atomic heart/zelda, but when im done with them itll be weeks before i play anything. Even then its likely just a few rounds of tf2 or something. so little interests me anymore in the vidyasphere. its given me time to take up hobbies like drawing. one day i might make a comic or something.
