Just started one myself, but I feel a bit overwhelmed with all the content.

Don't really know what to do first

I say make sure you have a story planned out. You won't be able to go forward if there's nothing to go forward to. The biggest gripe about RPGs for me is that the story can get to be too much or too convoluted. I've got my big points planned all the way to the end and beyond if anyone who plays it wants a second or third story in the same world.

Also make sure you have unique characters and your world makes sense, I guess? It's a lot to do by yourself but if you got a story you want to tell, don't let it get you down about progress. It's gonna be a slow process no matter what.

Not RPG Maker but I used to make games in an RPG Maker clone called RPG Toolkit all the time back in the early 2000s. That community was comfy, and one of the devs later went on to make Pokemon Showdown. RIP.

I made a Last Bible 1 remake in rpgmaker xp ages ago, spent about a year and several hundred hours on it. It's on an old harddrive I think I lost when I moved, fricking sad. I think from time to time of doing something similar with Lost Bible 2 but the inspiration wanes

      >inspiration
      >for doing a remake
you seem largely unfamiliar with the concept of inspiration

it was the story of mc's hero turned villain, who went on a separate journey, trying to rid the world of the same evil but getting twisted into something evil himself. In the original game you end up fighting against him and the secret society of warriors he creates, because the true villains frame them as the bigbad. In my game, you kill your old Mc the pupil, the big ads, and become world emperor, banishing magic. The best part about remaking an old rpg is that you have a ton of blank canvas to work with. Reimagining / fleshing out locations and events was a lot of fun

          >reimagining
again, very little imagination going on. Next time, start your own game.

I'm interested to know how do you learn how to use the tools the software is offering you.
Did you learn by trial and error? Were you part of an online community like a forum or maybe now a discord server? Youtube videos?

I wish I could learn how to use this software, even if is just to make some shitty game for myself. I just don't know were should I go to start learning. Any suggestion?

Sort of. I wish it were a more competent engine. Baffling how they've been making these things for decades and how lacking they still are.
