Have you taken the handheld emu pill, Ganker?
I just got a RG351P. Plays great, has minimal input lag on the systems it runs well. Runs Playstation as well as a PSP and emulates better than a pi 3.
Still working on getting Shovel Knight, Half Life and Diablo 1 and 2 on it.
I'm still waiting on the >$150 device that breaks the Dreamcast/N64 barrier perfectly. I can play a few Dreamcast and N64 games but not many.
>Have you taken the handheld emu pill, Ganker?
why would you emu something on an inferior platform? Oh yes, because you are moronic.
>why would you emu something on an inferior platform?
Super Nintendos don't tend to work out well on a bus.
>bus

I know plenty of people who use phones for gaming but does anyone seriously use tablets for emulation?
When I had a shit laptop my kindle fire could actually run DS games near flawlessly while my PC struggled like crazy so I ended up using it quite a bit. Nowadays though I just my PC for everything.
Just waiting for one of these chink companies to make a decent Pi 4 handheld. I have a Pi Boy and it's cool but I'm tired of Experimental Pi's bullshit.
The 351MP is really close to being perfect for me. I wish wi-fi was built in because I'd love to get into retro achievements, but otherwise it's a solid handheld. The closer we get to the next gen of these devices the more I'm tempering expectations anyway. I'm hearing good things about the N64, but somehow PSP and DC are still a mixed bag.
After owning a few Chinese handhelds and a Pi I think the Pi 4 is way overrated. The lack of proper sleep support on the SBC really kills it as a handheld for me. I tolerate it as a console, but I still think there are better options for emulation.
It's honestly pretty easy. I'll warn you that bluetooth is a pain on these devices if you plan to use it, but typically you'll just be setting it up once and never again.
It doesn't have to be a Pi 4 for me to be happy, just needs to run Retroarch and handle N64/Dreamcast/PSP shit at the same level a Pi 4 could. Lack of sleep doesn't bother me, it only takes a few seconds to boot anyway and it's not like I'm turning it on to not use it.
I had a pair of Dingoo units a long time back, it was a neat little console that was way, way too fragile.I still use my GBA units to this very day, even twenty years past launch. The AGB is a wonderful daily driver. Looking at getting a Retroflag GPi in 2022, once I finish picking up some games I've been waiting on getting. What's the build quality for the 351P?
how viable it is to get raspherry pi solely for dosbox emulation. i feel like it's perfect form factor for it, and linux already can be used with just keyboard+dosbox. makes it perfect combo to keep keyboard on lap while resting on a couch with pi connected to tv
I'd rather buy a mobile Bluetooth game pad and use emulators.
This. I was at a train station the other day and this loser sat next to me and got out a dedicated handheld and started playing some games. I just rolled my eyes and opened my backpack, took out my xbox controller, took out my mount, put my phone in the mount, binned the messenger bubbles, synced up the bluetooth (phone was on 30% from being used all day but a bit of bluetooth should be fine), found the retroarch app, loaded it up, noticed it was running very slow, cleared background processes (probably because I used google maps earlier anyway), chose the core I wanted, chose the game, noticed retroarch was expecting touchscreen inputs instead of my controller, went back into retroarch menu, set controller to bluetooth device, back into game.
I didn't get to play as much as the other guy, but at least I didn't look ridiculous.
This is why I still check vr from time to time kek
>I was at a train station the other day

pick one
I own 4, yeah. My first was an RG350, then I got a 351V which I gave to my wife since she loves the screen, and a V90 for my son. I got a 351M for myself and I like it a lot. If the next chipset has quality N64 emulation I'll probably get one for myself. Unfortunately the RG552 has a 4 year old chip so we'll have to see how that performs.
3DS for DS and GBA, Vita for PSP, PS1. Love the setup.
I wish The 3DS felt better for GB and GBC so I could keep them themed, but the D-pad on the Vita is just better placed, and just plain better.
>3DS for DS and GBA
Eww, it’s better for 240p consoles honestly, the other handhelds look crap on it
Why yes, and I'm enjoying it so far.
