I understand what you mean even if everybody else is being dense. There is a certain joy in discovering the new pokemon on your own and going in already knowing exactly what you're going to do ruins some of the magic. I just don't think that magic potentially being ruined isn't really there anymore with the more recent games. That or I'm just getting old.
Yet the older games feel fun despite me knowing everything about them?

I'm in my 30s, I've never played a Pokemon game without knowing every Pokemon in it and I don't intend to start now
I'd rather spoil myself so I know how bad the game is going to be. Better than finding out mid playthrough how bad they fricked it up or having false hope they dexcut your faves.
I spoil myself because I like to know my team ahead of time. Also, I can't control myself to see which Pokémon become my new favorite one.

the only good thing about leaks for pokèmon is seeing the threads for new mons being showed, all the autism and hype from leaks is the only good thing about the new games since deep down we know it will suck

The game has barely any changes or improvements to its fundamentals since its first inception, there is no such thing as "Pokémon magic" when the novelty of it is gone. If i had experienced the game earlier, or on release-date, nothing would have changed. My opinion of the game won't suddenly have an 180 based on some arbitrary time-gate
Funny, I spoiled myself on everything for Gen 5 and that was still fun.

It's pokemon not a movie. I know the story is going to be bad, at least i want to know the dex.
I knew everything about gen 1 before I got my own copy of Red to play and that never ruined the game for me.
