No, the console is a DRM reader, which is the entire point to me buying it. And since I own the key to unlock the games I put into the PS5, DRM is quite literally no longer an issue for me. It works differently for P-Cucks, so it quite literally is a, "not my problem" problem.

that is literally not how it works.

                Anonymous

It literally is. It's sad that console gays know more about this shit than the supposed "Master Race."

DRM is encryption when you get to the nitty gritty. Consoles have the encryption reader baked into the device, so encryption isn't an issue. PC's by nature of being an open platform do not, so their encryption key reader has to be accessed online, which means signing into a server that reads the key and verifies you are allowed to access the content. This is literally what DRM is, and why it's never an issue for consoles despite being the bane of existence for P-Cucks.

Its speaking relative to PC settings, where R5 2600 and 6700XT is required for 1080p 60fps Medium, which is roughly equivalent to PS5 hardware.

"Super Credits" (SC) are a free-to-wait premium currency you can earn in-game which is bound to come in at a totally reasonable rate (lol). Said SCs are needed to purchase Warbonds (aka battle passes) and premium cosmetics and armor. Premium armor may have unique combinations of stats and passives you cannot get from the Warbonds.

The GameGuard rootkit anti-cheat's primary purpose is not to protect other players, it's to protect the rate of currency gain to force players to hit the grind face first and encourage the spending of money.

The game's first Warbond has an accelerated rate of SC gains to make you feel like it won't be so slow, but gains are crippled after that, just like any typical mobile game.

This argument always reeks like it's coming from someone with absolutely unbridled MTX spending habits. Why would you get so utterly defensive about a system that you supposedly never pay any attention to?

If the cosmetics don't matter, why do they cost money and why do people pay for them? If they do matter, why aren't they included with the rest of the game?

Weird that they never gave you the option to at least have a single bot with you when deploying solo in Helldivers. I get that it's to encourage use of the SOS Beacon and have players drop in, but solo play becomes a bit of a chore when you've only got one set of equipment and you need to gimp yourself to cover every possible roadblock on higher hazard levels or whatever the difficulty tiers were called.

And they are already planning on adding more stuff in the future like mechs, vehicles, new enemies.

The only reason I'm not more upset about Helldivers 2 being an always online title is because the first game was so completely tied to the online community progression that turning it into a live service game would legitimately improve it across the board, assuming Arrowhead are actually going to add new enemies and objectives to the game over time.

This will never work out, the amount of GM's would most likely dwindle really fast and considering how many games there are going to be at every possible moment, there won't be enough GM's to go around.

Even if you talked about the DLCs I wouldn't have agreed either, because all the DLCs were released at the same time. ON THE SAME DAY OF GAME RELEASE. There's no "continual revenue stream" like Super-Credit in Helldivers 2.

They said they weren't even happy with the way it turned out in the original - being unable to really do any sort of mortar with the constrained view, so if it does, it will return likely as some sort of 'coop' weapon with forward offense providing ranging information to a proper mortar team toward the rear (likely only a few dozen meters between, but same diff)

If you encrypt your primary drive, just slap another OS on a separate drive.
Invasive as it is, it's not so insidious as to try and creep on unmounted data.
That becomes more of a security concern, should it become compromised, at which point, yeah. Even all of the hardware becomes suspect as the firmware are vulnerable.

It's legitimately worrisome that not only does the always online coop game have needless kernel level DRM, but some people actually believe that there's no other way of fighting these supposed cheaters that are ruining every game all at once. We had server sided checks even two decades ago. Gamers are moronic and it will not get better. Help.

Over time you might be able to buy an ADDITIONAL warbond, but the point of SC gained through POI is supplemental. The kind of thing to offset the difference from what you pull out of Warbonds - either because you really don't want to burn the medals unlocking *everything*, or because some brand new premium warbond is afflicted by the merchant's build and they're asking 1200SC.

They're more likely to release a whole bunch of crap - put a bunch of crap into a variety of premiums bundles, with only a handful of noteworthy kit to unlock. You COULD unlock everything, and basically get the credits to buy more warbonds, but then you would need to grind Medals, which seem limited to about 30+ per mission, based on number of objectives cleared.

                >Right now, the Warbonds we have designed contain SC. However, not every future Warbond will contain Super Credits but a lot of them will, and the SC inclusion may depend on the theme and size of the Warbond.

I don't know what you mean by "go infinite" but the argument is that a new weapon or armor could come out in a new warbond, and that this weapon or armor basically becomes required for new or harder current content., then only people who pay for SC will be able to get that new armor or weapon because it takes 25-100 hours to get enough SC to purchase the warbond. GAAS games are far more often than not dogshit. I'm fine with supporting developers but I don't think I've ever played a GAAS game that was better for being GAAS.

Actually, there is DRG, but they seem to be the only dev who can contain their greed and actually supply quality content on a regular basis. They give players so many in-game customization options that the DLC ones are superfluous, and literally just there for if you want to throw more money at the devs.

They also got all of their money when there was only like four of them. It means a hell of a lot when you get your millions and only need to pay four people. DRG was fully paid for long before it left EA.

First one was sleeper kino. It's brutally difficult and it's very easy to accidentally kill your teammates or yourself. Higher difficulty makes it feel like you're surviving by the skin of your teeth, making it more exciting than other co op games (plus the need for coordination and cooperation is much higher than its competitors). Classic style power progression that more or less just gives you more utility options and ways to do damage, and doesn't keep you on an endless numbers treadmill. Neat meta game about fighting on a war front and trying to collectively "progress" with the playerbase. Weapons feel heavy and powerful.

Early impression reviews are praising the sequel so far, but I'm weary. Both the aesthetic and TPS changes seem like soulless mass appeal moves, they were great for the first game. Especially the camera/control scheme, 1 seemed to be perfectly designed around twin stick so that is a worrying change. And GAAS content delivery bullshit that has a high tendency of meaning players will get drip fed cheap content. I'm a big fan of 1 but I'm skeptical.

This argument always reeks like it's coming from someone with absolutely unbridled MTX spending habits. Why would you get so utterly defensive about a system that you supposedly never pay any attention to?

I'm laughing at morons getting upset about cosmetic trite and conjuring "might/maybe" scenarios and pretending they're objective truths. I'm not saying it couldn't be cancerous and Arrowhead are incapable of being israelites like, but I truly have heard no evidence based criticisms for people's concerns over monetization other than headcannon fanfiction of what they "could" do.

Just play the stupid video game, try and get your $40 worth of it, and stop acting like dramatic babies because Joe Nobody wanted to waste $10 looking like Rivet just to get torn apart by acid spewing space insects.

I wanted to play it because of the EDF adjacency, but it sure has a lot of factors working against it.

So what are the odds on the Illuminates coming back?

Not sure, they could come back in the future. Or they could just do something else entirely, unless they find a way to make them fun this time around.

I doubt it'll be the illuminates directly but a faction based on them maybe. I wouldn't be surprised if they keep adding factions afterwards too.

if you look at the galaxy map in the previews there is plenty of space for new faction areas, plus the current factions are just based on the bug and cyborgs so it would make sense for the illuminates to come back

Played the first a good bit. Real fun shooter and strategems are really interesting. I'm excited for the 2nd one, even with the gameguard and whatever else people complain about. Just really want to play more Helldivers

I sure hope for the sake of people caught up in the marketing that the game is at least good.

I suppose the question here is what do you consider to be a "battle pass"
