I remember the translation being alright (at least the one I played), the game itself is pretty underwhelming though. The game is basically a reskin of Kamidori with different characters and a different story, both of which I did not like as much as Kamidori's.
There's also no equippable outfits for the heroione (there's only 1 route), which made me sad.
I played it and it's fine. It's classified as MTL because the translator used MTL to help learn Japanese, but heavily edited to be completely readable.

The game really isn't all that difficult on default settings and you can easily ignore 90% of its system and still get the regular ending without struggling.
The most difficult part of the game is getting used to the town UI/controls and that takes maybe 30 minutes top.

I used to fucking love the game, I beat it several times on max difficulty with all the difficulty settings turned on (except for whatever the one really bullshit one was).
Then he changed how the stamina system or something worked and my 50+ hours in the game got invalidated because none of my old strategies worked any more. Then I just sort of stopped playing.
The UI is terrible. Even after spending like 60 hours in it I was still confused on where to click and muscle memory failed to form for some things.
It's a great game with great art, but I think it's mostly the UI that hinders it. I'd jump back right now but I'm not looking forward to fighting the menus again
I'm still trying to figure out concepts like "how to keep adventuring long enough to complete quests while also not having all your monsters die of Attrition". And presumably the late game answer is healing items but I don't have that kind of money early on
The first thing you should do at the begining of any run is >Daily Arena fight (The only arena fights ever worth doing) > Enter a portal (ideally a king quest one) > Recruit 4 non-ugly monsters (ideally with traits that will boost brothel income but it's not necessary) > Train them at home until they can cover all sex skills to decent+ (only 1-2 sex skills per girl, no point in overlapping) > shove them into a room if their stamina is above 80, if not just wait the next day.
Also remember that just stepping on the home portal will heal your party.
Now you'll never have any money issue and you're free to start working your way into doing whatever you want.

Every single big event scene in Summer is better than in Winter, and Summer has more of them, even with less girls.
Uh...there's the same amount of scenes. Every 20 affection points is a scene, in both games. I think Winter actually gets more, since there's a lot of event scenes not tied to the girls affection score.
There's so many scene triggers in Winter, I actually ran out of time to unlock everything without using the time skip. Because each scene advances the time forward. And on the second to last day I went from Morning to Late Evening because of three back to back event triggers. Making it so I couldn't trigger Akari and Kanae's final scenes that needed to be in the morning/afternoon.
I played the game a second time and fast forwarded through the sex scenes, focusing on unlocking everything without the time skip. This is why I say the progression/gameplay is addicting to me.

I can see what OP meant by the general gameplay being fun. It felt somewhat cathartic to just play most of the side stuff/minigames to be rewarded, like it was a light version of Harvest Moon/Stardew Valley relationships.
But I can't ignore the glaring issue. Winter Memories sucked because the rush of getting girls was gone. 8/10 of the girls were already hooked onto Boku's dick. The dev moving out to different stuff is the right call.
I don't disagree about the girls already being "conquered" by him. It's kind of silly you have to work to get them to have sex again when they recall how much they like you. What they should have done is have new content (like new sex positions or events) you unlock from increasing their affection score. Have the affection score start at 100 and now you need to get it up to 200 to experience new stuff with them.
But hindsight is 20/20. We can always nitpick things that could have been done better. When most people just wanted Summer Memories 2. Which is exactly what they provided. All the content of Summer Memories, but with a new setting and a lot of improvements to the non sex parts.
It's basically Boku no Natsuyasumi. The character's name is even Boku. Those sorts of little scheduling optimization games are always great.

But after doing a certain task, you unlock the ability to do it at any time by calling the girls to your location. A feature that was in the first game as well. AA2 is a decade old game, so it's visually outdated compared to Koikatsu but it's an actual game unlike Koikatsu. Both of them have the same concept (school sim with custom characters) but only AA2 is fun to play since they gutted most of the character actions and AI in Koikatsu. Practically no one plays Koikatsu for the gameplay, it's main appeal is its character creator and studio mode which are both great.
They're both worth trying out. There's a general on /vg/ for AA2 and one on /h/ for Koikatsu with links and mods

When I was a kid, Majoras Mask fascinated me with the changing world/time, and its something i thought about on and off every once in a while. Another game with a time system was also Valkyrie Profile, albeit it was a bit more gated in its progression/time use where not much changed after you did a soul search.
i like them usually, adds to immersion and pressures you into acting with the resources on-hand. but I like them probably in part because they are uncommon. If every game coming out was like portals of phereon/kangmaker/DoL, I'd likely get sick of it real fast.

What didn't you like about it? There's a lot of variety in the skills and classes you can use, and the characters feel very distinct and interact well with each other outside of battles too.
The story is the core of any h-game. If the characters aren't fleshed out and the scenario doesn't get enough buildup you may as well just watch regular porn or look at contextless pictures. Long-form games like RPGs, SLGs, and VNs are better at this kind of thing. The real slop are shitty CG hunters, procedural-generated western trash, and "look at me I'm a real gamedev" projects that force you through 900 hours of repetitive grinding for 1 minute of h-content because the developer got bored of making an h-game 5 minutes into making an h-game

It's not really about having a good story/characters. Though I do want those. It's more about a sense of progression and pacing. You can have some of these games where the entire story is "guy goes to visit his cousin in the countryside and they end up having sex." And it's still good because there's a good balance of unlocking new sex scenes and the girl slowly becoming more lewd. On the flip side, you have games with hours upon hours of dialogue and character growth. But the girl is basically the same stock personality the whole way through and the same 3-4 sex scenes repeat.

I loved lulu farea and thought about mentioning it, but the gameplay is separate from the H aside from when you win boss battles which isn't really gameplay related moreso than just a carrot on a stick. But that's only if the subject is about gameplay with relevant H elements rather than gameplay that leads to H elements, when I think both are fine.
Anyway I liked Nightmare Sphere when it comes to mixing great gameplay and H elements. It's a shame that the actual H isn't good.

The only time I ever played PVP in anything was a hentai game on nutaku called Cosmic Shock League. All the characters were stolen but it achieved a sort of pseudo balance because there wasn't a lot of characters, all easily obtainable and the level differences for health were easily off set by good play. Everyone played random heroes on the match three board and it was thrilling. The meta of placements, working out the opponent's heroes by charge times and getting good activations was unbelievably fun. I tried to play gems of war afterwards but it was a broken, slow p2w mess. Cosmic Shock League was completely abandoned by its dev and never did anything with the SFW non copyright version on IOS, so it meant everything completely. Drives me mad because this wanker stumbled into perfect balance and let it get delisted.

I'm a fan of them too (I made this thread). But it's because I like the progression and interaction aspect of them, which almost all hentai games fail at.
Basically, imagine something like Harvest Moon or Persona, but done better. You actually have to work to get them interested in you beyond just giving them a gift and talking to them. You have to improve yourself as a character and put yourself into positions to draw their attention. Another way to put it is, imagine a game with the Summer Memories like system, but instead of just talking and having sex with the girls to increase an affection meter, there are a lot of other variables. Some decisions could lose affection. Stuff that works on one girl doesn't work on another. And it would be very hard to romance all the girls, as they'd become jealous (except one girl who is into group play).
Also, it would be either a senior in high school or set in college. Not shouta stuff. I don't hate shouta stuff. But the point is being more grounded.
