The soul of the work will be lost because of them though. From Jackson's movies, to the games, to the shows. Too many are too dumb and ADHD ridden to read the books now so rely on the movies only to get the same experience but its far from it.
Ive read the books twice along with immediately comparing them to the movies and while the movies have a good amount of Hollywood fluff, a lot of the dialogue is ripped straight from the books, the order events. Its a pretty faithful recreation asides from a few little bits here and there. Honestly those movies are masterpieces. The books are great and its a different experience, but the movies are likely the closest thing to a decent adaptation we’ll ever see, I dont think it can be topped. You can see how solid LotR is compared to the dogshit hobbit movies.

Interesting thing about Tolkien lore: It has the illusion of depth. An actually proper adaptation of content outside the books would run out of steam almost immediately because Tolkien either didn't care about anything outside Rohan and Gondor or he died before he could elaborate. Mordor comes to mind, despit ebeing the setting of half of ROTK, we know next to nothing about it.
