>hentai hitler
this reminds me of a trip to germany near new years. We turned TV on somewhere 1-3am and there was BDSM porn with hitler. The text said it was made in the 60s or something and they still ran it. Never let anyone tell you they aint weird.
>millions
Just googled a video on the gameplay and it looks terrible. I can see why he didn't know how to code. He also didn't know how to art as well. A couple years were not enough to fix it either.
>ez cash
he spent st least a year making what most people make in less than a month dude. If you really wanted to troll by posting lazy pieces of shit who make millions doing literally nothing you should have just made a twitch thread.
No he didn't. Anyways it took a good decade but I've finally accepted that there's just nothing I care enough about to get autistically good at; once I get past the initial discovery phase and figure out the basics of anything: coding, cooking, woodworking, 3d modeling, etc., I lose interest within a day. Long before I get to the part where anything innovative could come out of my head. I've finally given up but I'm fortunate to have a well paying job, and my pseudo passion is pocketing enough money to get the fuck out of the rat race by 50 and enjoy what time I have playing Age of Mythology or whatever catches my fleeting interest. Fuck this guy and fuck you OP I'm not letting these insincerity propped-up "success" stories cloud my self satisfaction anymore

Are you me? Maybe it's just time to stop watching any and all kinds of social media, they just prop unhealthy comparison and make you feel bad.
It's not that you lose interest it's that you suck and know you're not gonna make it so you give up and recite this cope to yourself to diminish the feelings of being a loser who's stuck in his own head and never really does anything in his life.

The real reason you quit is because you are probably thinking about your skill level.
As in, "Well, I can /already/ do this and that, so it's no big accomplishment."
You are self-sabotaging, robbing yourself of satisfication because your accomplishments are becoming a competition and you stop thinking of your skills as a personal journey.
You also probably go into "autopilot" mode when practising those skills.
The solution to it is simple. Stop thinking about how good you are, or how good others are.
Just live in the moment and enjoy whatever you're doing on the level you're operating on.
I'm happy for you Hans but keep your shovelware off steam.
I'm sick of these indie dudes releasing shitty games and expecting everyone to suck their dick because they worked so hard or their game has such an innovative mechanic. Meanwhile, every facet is half baked and unappealing.
Steam is not a fucking charity.
So what actually is the first step to "learn to code"? And how do you do it when you have a full time job and also want time to chill out and not grind yourself to death working and then going home to work even more?
It's unironically already knowing how to code. Everyone I know who "learned to code" was already familiar with the very basics of programming. Usually through writing small scripts out of necessity or using something like SQL that only takes commands in the form of code. Learning to code is actually learning how to write code cleanly and professionally, manage the development environment, and use package managers and version control for collaboration.
I'm using Udemy courses to learn C# with Unity. Pretty chill and fun and can do it whenever you want. They cost money but they aren't very expensive and are typically well constructed.
30% steam tax, then regular income tax on top of that (usually around 30%), plus i'm guessing he used Unity so $400 a year for that....so $1200 in Unity fees alone.
Being an indie dev is fucking aids and I say that as someone who's "made" hundreds of thousands of dollars and is still worse off than if i'd just worked a regular 9-5.
It's a great feeling seeing people enjoy something you've made, but holy fuck if you're not willing to basically neet it up for the rest of your life whilst also working your ass off, don't bother.
Nintendo and Microsoft fully reimburse the cost of Unity Plus if you publish on their platforms though. Sony doesn't but Sony are huge dicks to indie devs in general.
9th grade math is about as high as it goes.
Though 90% not even that. 99% of coding is googling shit and sticking commands together. Its more like lego but you are blind and need to google every pieces shape
Damn seriously? I never got into it because when I looked it up before people were talking about needing to know math to get into it, but now I'm actually interested, thanks
CS related degrees have math especially in machine learning/data science and in my bachelor 50% got filtered in pure math classes but programing software has mostly close to zero math beyond elementary school +-*/ .
tldr: degree could filter you due math requirement if you really bad at it but you can learn programing without.
I've been working on my 3D pokemon clone for 4 years now and I still have at least 3 years to go. I probably lost 1 full year just browsing this board, but man I have a job as well i'm not a fucking robot able to stay productive 100% of my waking hours
How do I learn to code? What should I learn to code? I just want to make a text based game where I can live the daily life of a woman, buying food and clothes, managing rent and working a job and dating sexy men. FUCK.
renpy for visual novels
or you can try your hand at unity
this is a "full course" of it's language C#
the early chapters should cover the basics
if you've never written code before you might need to find an IDE according to your average uni professor, one should first learn programming concepts in a language agnostic manner since every one incorporates them slightly differently plus it builds pattern recognition and makes you more adept. Just mentioning that
never heard of it.
he made maybe $50k which is pretty good for a side gig. also that face killed my boner so I'm not jerking off anymore.
you should print out his picture, frame it, and put it on your desk. now, finally, you will be able to practice semen retention and become a demigod
>learn to do anything
>miss the train and now I'm left with a useless skill
Not falling for it, garden gnome.
All know all about your “self improvement” trick garden gnome. I’ll save the white race by wasting my (worthless) life
>auto battle roguelike
Yikes, literally anyone can make this
>auto battle
I don't even know what that is.
game plays itself and you just watch.
Its the cope game design when gameplay is boring so you have give a bot function.
thanks for reminding me i need to jerk off. wonder what i should look at.
dicky
muscle girls
adult-child sexual material
Is your mom hot?
i have to set a lot of filters to clean THE front page of Steam from Hentai Hiltler and same shit.

Millions of what?
Literally millions of 1 cents, which is probably what this anon mentioned kek :
>millions of 1 cents
so what 100k+ thats not bad
>He's making millions
the game is like 4 bucks and isn't even in the top 1,000 best selling games on steam
>earning money in a dying economy
Not falling for it nor buying your game.
He looks like a virgin.
This random shit game only sold 1k copies.
So this fag only made 3k in sales.
Years of work for only 3k.
>millions

Jealousy. Like you could make anything better. Dude made some EZ cash.
>ez cash

flappy bird. its not quality its timing the market.
>Jealousy
lmao
Lasse, is that you? holy shit your game is ass. Have some standards for once in your life.
No he didn't. Insincerely*
Fuck you again

Can't you tell by the look at his teeth that he's 100% pure Bri'ish?
So what actually is the first step to "learn to code"? And how do you do it when you have a full time job and also want time to chill out and not grind yourself to death working and then going home to work even more?
just quit your job bro just stop paying your bills dude just become a neet and be homeless and starve

write some wow macros

Good old Slahser still making headlines.
>He's making millions
He's made less than $1500
And that's assuming everyone paid full price for his game.
Hope he's churning out a game every week.
>30% steam tax
Oh no no no no indiebros were making less than a thousand dollars. Should have taken the epic deal.
30% steam tax, then regular income tax on top of that (usually around 30%), plus i'm guessing he used Unity so $400 a year for that....so $1200 in Unity fees alone.

Unity is free as long as you make less than 50k right?
Not since they went full juden, 2k a year if you want to do console shit now as well.
https://unity.com/compare-plans
Nintendo and Microsoft fully reimburse the cost of Unity Plus if you publish on their platforms though. Sony doesn't but Sony are huge dicks to indie devs in general.
Answer seem simple to me. Don't use unity.
Valve seriously need to make a separate platform for shovelware this shit has gone way past the point of ridiculous.
SLAHSER'S WAY
but i thought using unity is bad because it's now full with spyware
I don't have bong genetics so that is infinitely more valuable
This guy annoys me so I don't even have to look at his game to know its uninspired trash.
you need a minimum of 130 IQ to program anything substantial.
The success of other people does not bother me. I pity you, and your miserable existence of comparative thinking.
What extent are you willing to take this to, you lying little gay? Will you spout that bullshit if you are living on the streets? Lying gay
>It's just a Vampire Survivor clone
Get the fuck out of here.
Coding requires math right? I'm no good with math
9th grade math is about as high as it goes.
Though 90% not even that. 99% of coding is googling shit and sticking commands together. Its more like lego but you are blind and need to google every pieces shape

He's a furry, so I still win even if he will make billions.

>auto-battle
>roguelite
WHEEZE
I can code and jerk off at the same time
It better not be some 2D pixel shit. There are enough no-skill devs making that already.
Recommend me a book to learn about coding sitting on the computer doesn’t help me to much side tracking
Would be cool to make a porn game to milk coomers on patreon I guess.
How hard is it to code that penpy shit anyway?
I'd rather play the hentai version
This picture reminds me of MikeZ until he got his own creation stolen from under his nose
we really posting a reddit dota2 shitposter, aka slasher's way
is Humankind worth it if it's at -80%?
Good for him, but I've never heard of his game, so it can't be that great.
AI will make coding an obsolete skill anyway.
coding is like 5% of the work though. Call me when AI is able to make original art (as in not stolen from others work) that's actually appealing
All art is semi-stolen. Everybody is inspired by someone, give or take 1 project out of thousands
Oh great, another indie developer on the pipeline to complaining about why steam doesn't do more to make people buy their games
there's only one mage?
Whats his game? some kind of idle game? You don't need to learn much coding for that.
Dubs decide what game I'm going to make.
forgot to mention if no one get dubs I close Unity and go jerk off to gay porn
you can't get dubs on Ganker you retarded gay moron
good
make a 3D RTS online features optional
Look up his game
>Auto battler
>"Roguelike"
>the only reason it's on the front page is because he put it on sale
>probably isn't even pushed to everyone else because of steam curation
How do I learn to code? What should I learn to code? I just want to make a text based game where I can live the daily life of a woman, buying food and clothes, managing rent and working a job and dating sexy men. FUCK.

So am i, now brush your teeth
I'll have you know that I do play video games from time to time as well.
I am waiting to move the fuck out and to fix my life before I do any of that.
