I ended up playing the remake version of Crash 1 and it was competent and well put together but I can't say I've ever been a fan of remakes, even the good ones.
Also I've reached a point where graphics matter so little that I don't even care a little bit, it's all in the art style and art design, and crash 2 and 3 still have a ton of charm, while the 3d and textures may have aged they still look good to me.
If someone could somehow mod 1 and 2 originals to have time trials like 3, I would never play the remakes anymore. The most fun I had was doing the time trials in 1. After a week of effort I was able to get every platinum relic in both 1 and 2 except for the bonus stormy ascent level
2. cause it refined the controls/level design from one, and it didn't overdo the vehicle levels like 3 did. i even tried speedrunning it 100% for a little while. i think crash 2 is better than mario 64 by a lot
It's easily the peak of the series. The QOL improvements over 1 are insane, and the controls feel absolutely perfect. There's also not nearly as many gimmick levels like 3, which ruined that game for me tbh.
Warped
I know it's easier and has a few too many gimmick levels but I love the level themes and I do love the normal levels in the game, as well as the chinese wall race ones.
2 has a lot of boring level themes, the sewer levels all suck and there's like 3 or 4 of them, the beehive enemies are annoying. I don't know, I don't see whatever others do in the 2nd game. It's nice that the platforming is a little more difficult than it is in 3 but I still don't love it.
Also 3 has the sprint key and time trials which I had a lot of fun with
I also don't get why 2 is the most common favorite. It feels basically the same as 1 and 3 to me, because I really did not mind the vehicle levels in 3.
What's so wrong with some spice being thrown into the mix so all 3 games aren't identical?
i really like crash 1, it's kept to itself and the challenges that it offers are superb, things you usually wouldn't find in any other platformer, and rarely find in a 3D platformer even.
Crash 2 is easily the best. The secrets are legitimately secret, but also required to get the final ending. The controls are the best, very few gimmicks, best music and atmosphere. The only thing it lacks in is the boss variety, which crash 1 probably takes since it has the hardest bosses of the original trilogy.
Same. No doubt we'll get Crash 5 eventually, I just wonder when because the series is notorious for either coming out with games too soon after one another or too far apart. It was shaping up to be the former with that last dev stream but it seems like the controversy with Activision has put it on hold.
I do want another sequel that continues on the traditional crash route like 1 thru 4 and I want it to have a very interesting multiplayer mode INCLUDED in it so it's a 2 for 1 package. that would actually sell like hot cakes at full price because you're essentially getting 2 games
I'd like to see a competent developer give it warp hubs like in 3 and keep the linear levels, but with the main over world being free roam like twinsanity. Maybe each hub area can be hosted by a former boss trying to get back at cortex. Maybe reel it back a little so it's not about something wacky like time travel, but more island exploring like in the first game.
Keep crash and coco as the only playable characters, maybe cortex but give him a different move set than he had in 4.
Crash Bandicoot: All Mutants Attack
A sequel to mind over mutant, it doubles down on the open world aspect of the last game and Cortex is just a secondary villain.
Ugh... fine
CTR on PC when

Crash Bandicoot Thread???
I meant literally
I emulated and played through crash 2 and 3 last year on a rainy day, it was the comfiest day probably all year.
had fun competing for best time on this level in crash 3 with a friend.
Nothing beats the original versions. I really don't care for the remakes in comparison

The controls of the original are so amazingly tight. Are there any mods for the remakes that fix them?

furries ruin any crash thread
What's your favorite game anon? And for what reason?

2

My favorite game
is Crash Bash

Is Wumpa League real or not?
It's real, you just have to be patient, friend
i hope we get Crash 5. 4 was phenomenal even if it wasn't as hip as 1-3
gameplay and levels were fun and exciting imo. i'll buy pretty much every game if they're that good.

I don't mind having another Crash game but it should ditch the numbering and the people behind it aren't Toys 4 Bob.
>wanting to go back to that era
Dude
What's your idealised vision for the next mainline instalment of Crash series? And what kind of story and adventure that you'd want to see for Crash?

What exactly makes the empty hub world being free roam a necessity? Seems awfully minor to me.
I didn't say they would have to be empty. They could find things to do there.

>tfw want 4 but don't want to pay $80 for it
frick
80? It's 50
It's $79.99 in Canada.
Just pirate it. It ain't worth $50-80. It has its merits but the game's problems lessened the value.
>Over 300 reais in hue land
/cbg/ fricking sucks, though.
It's kino
unironically 90% of crash posters here also use that place
There is no franchise. You got what you asked for for years. It sucked. The end
What is with this meme? Did some discord start it?
Please...I just need CTR on pc...Activision, please have mercy.
>there really are CoTT/MoM fans now in spite of Crash 4
Either this is a joke or holy shit, that guy in that one thread wasn't wrong.

Last time I checked I was range banned from Ganker, will check again.
