You can try it without bleed+frostbite or the rot but it becomes a battle of attrition if he gets his skulls summoned because then you'll probably never get close to him again before he summons them again, if they don't kill you the first time he summons them.
I enjoyed volcano manor there was a bit of break from the open world and felt like a mystery investigation, i should finish the game but like all other plebs i burned out at the mountain top of giants after combing the entire map up to that.
I was doing the Manor assassinations but saw that you needed to get to the mountaintops to continue the quests. Should I just go and kill him right now?

Volcano Manor is probably the best legacy dungeon in the game. Rykard's boss fight is pretty challenging if you don't use the Serpent Hunter.
as solo melee user, how do you even fight him with all the lava around?

He's also extremely susceptible to rot, 2 rot pots will get him rotted, and it does a frickload of damage because of his high health.

You can attack her for her crucible knight guard to invade you and get the breath incantation
