The 5070 will be 50% better than a 4090 once you factor in the new technology which uses AI to guess what input you would have done next and pre-renders future frames using spare GPU bandwidth.
The most demanding graphics are just cutting edge Nvidia marketing gimmicks, and I don't expect that to change. If you turn on DLSS and frame generation you could probably get away with a 4070.
these anons don't know what the fuck they're talking about. no, you don't need a 2000$ card to play games at fucking 1080p 60fps. go on Ganker, instead of this fornite kiddies infested board.

1080p60 is a shit target. Why are you targeting what was mildly impressive 10 years ago? >suggesting Ganker >the board about politics, linux shilling, and elon musk gossip >for graphics card analysis

OP of the original question here, I just don't really have a desire to go above that. 60 FPS is fine for me and I'm comfortable with the size of my current monitors, but most importantly cause I was looking for something a bit cheaper.

Ganker is retarded about pc building and so is Ganker. What is your budget? Don't ask this question without a budget.
For reference, I have a 6800XT and I max out every game in 1440p. For 1080p 60fps you really don't need anything expensive. A few years ago I was using a 1660 super for 1080p 60fps.
The GPU industry is so cancerous, It's hyper consumerism at it's worst stage with planned obsolescence & tech being intentionally gimped for mid-gen upgrades or even further beyond.
>Ti SUPER
They're doing that now? So there will be...
4060 8 GB
4060 Ti 8 GB
4060 Ti 16 GB
4070 12 GB
4070 SUPER ?? GB
4070 Ti 12 GB (The Graphics card formerly known as 4080)
4070 Ti SUPER ?? GB
4080 16 GB
4080 SUPER ?? GB
4090 24 GB
And there's plenty of room to add SUPERs, Tis and VRAM variants to half those cards, as well as ...
4030 / Ti / SUPER / Ti SUPER / (unnamed VRAM downgrade edition)
4050 / Ti / SUPER / Ti SUPER
I can't wait for the $2500 4090 TI SUPER 48 GB edition that gets destroyed by the 5080 a month later.
heh no way they would every put that much VRAM in a cumsoomer card. VRAM is the currency of AI and they are going to milk it for all it's worth and then some.
>I can't wait for the $2500 4090 TI SUPER 48 GB edition that gets destroyed by the 5080 a month later.
kek that's never going to happen, a 48GB consumer card would result in most of Nvidia's overpriced AI cards losing all of their appeal
we'll be lucky if the 5090 ships with 32GB
Just buy whatever card you want and slap on DLSS. It's not like modern day devs optimize their games anymore. Having a top of the line gpu in 2023 makes no sense.
>DLSS temporal effect is awful
agreed, ray reconstruction helps a lot at least
my real point is that I plan to buy a 5090 and still don't expect it to hit my performance targets reliably because GPU hardware simply is not good enough and won't be for another 10-20 years probably
I have no idea what DLSS is, I mean I know what it is I just don't really understand it. It's an NVIDIA exclusive thing, right? Is it compatible with all games?
>t. unemployed manchild
How many posts until you start spamming dalle3 generations of naked indians covered in feces? I know you don't have any actual arguments to present.
Enjoy paying $1999
i'm currently running an overclocked 8700k with 3080ti andPCIe3 is suffering but I'm waiting for intel 15th gen and 50xx series before I upgrade again
t. poorfag
Today's 4090 is tomorrow's 5070. Tick...tock...
2025. AMD only will put out a low end gpu in 2024 with RDNA4 so nvidia is gonna coast the 40 series a bit longer.
Waitchads always win.
it's not like there any games worth playing that absolutely require these cards
>Today's 4090 is tomorrow's 5070
You wish
The 5070 will be 50% better than a 4090 once you factor in the new technology which uses AI to guess what input you would have done next and pre-renders future frames using spare GPU bandwidth.
more like 5080 but yea
>4080 is more powerful than 3090ti
Yea, just like today's 3090 is tomorrow's 4070.
Oh no wait, the 4070 is weaker than a fucking 3080.
Is on par with the 3080 at 1440p and 1080p, what are you talking about?
A 4090 will max out games for another 5 years. You can thank consoles for that.
i am a simple man I wanna play at 1080p with 60 fps but I have no idea about anything
would a 4060 do?
used 3060 and turn down your settings
but I wanna play all my games on max graphics at 1080p 60fps
max graphics without gaytracing and gayframes? 7800xt
otherwise 4090
really? damn that's expensive, I thought I'd be able to use a cheaper card since I was capping myself at 1080p and 60fps
thanks anon

>1080 resolution
>Max graphics
You literally won't be able to see the extra details because of the relative resolution to model fidelity.
With how UE5 games run? Nope.
Prepare for 720p upscaled to 1080p.
budget? just get a 6700xt
Just get a 7700xt
>might
>appear to
>reportedly
>ti super
why can't they stick to one naming paradigm, fucking cunts
because the 4070 ti is just a renamed 4080 12GB which itself was probably a gimped 4070
>4070 ti is just a renamed 4080 12GB
lel I forgot about that. this "4080" super is weaker than the "4080".
Ultra was always the best final version. Ti Super sounds super gay.
The GPU industry is so cancerous, It's hyper consumerism at it's worst stage with planned obsolescence & tech being intentionally gimped for mid-gen upgrades or even further beyond.
thanks for all the replies guys, I'm probably gonna buy a Pre-Built with a 4070
I'm not understanding what the point of having the best possible GPU is. Are you homosexuals really playing every single AAA title that gets released?
>I'm poor and don't play games so I don't understand why you'd want a game playing machine that is good
only 1200 dollars + tip
They should've downgraded the 4060 to 4050 and the current 4070 to 4060, now the new one would make sense, because the 4060 certainly doesn't
Just wait until they release rtx 4090Ti SUPER
the only gpu worth buying is the rx 6600 these days. only card with an acceptable 'frame per dollar' ratio
>rx 6600
it's an AMD card so it's not worth buying at all.
DLSS is better than FSR?

>still rocking a 3060ti
1440p 144hz
I don't need more than that.
It all depends on what you play. Don't buy a 4080 for Underrail and weebshit.
The 4070 Ti Super will be 16GB and hopefully $900 or less. That's terrible but not as terrible as it could be.
>5090
You fool! The 6070Ti is months away!
Just buy whatever card you want and slap on DLSS. It's not like modern day devs optimize their games anymore. Having a top of the line gpu in 2023 makes no sense.
I have a 4k 120hz LG C1, a valve index and love simulators
I will take every modicum of performance I can get
I have same stuff and I use FSR1+XESS over DLSS because DLSS temporal effect is awful.
>DLSS temporal effect is awful
agreed, ray reconstruction helps a lot at least

DLSS turns 1440p into 1707x960 and 1080p into 1280x720
Just run your games at native 1080p retards are playing at worse quality if they don't. Less pixels = more temporal fuckery
DLAA>DLSS

Probably, at 1440p instead of 4k.
no thanks 😉
I'll wait for the $300 RTX 5060.
Better than 4090 and uses half the power.
after what had happened with the 4060 I wouldn't get your hopes up
>tfw bought 4070 Ti
How was I supposed to know about this Super bs
See
>Not waiting for the GeForce N1-GRTX 5095 Ti Super Duper
Just buy a console at this point
>buying odd numbered GPUs

Can you max alanwake?
I don't give a fuck about alan wake. played the first one and it sucked ass
