Try Ganker if you're looking for a meaningful discussion on gameboy castlevanias, this board is full of zoomers who only play onions simulators.
Personally I just beat Castlevania Adventure 1&2 for Gameboy on the steam castlevania collection. 2 is a lot better but the last couple of bosses are way harder.

I love it
Playing Dawn of Sorrow. While I concede that Aria is better, there are some things in Dawn that make me wish they were in Aria. The weapon synthesis is cool.
There is definitely slowdown
I keep fricking up my jumps when enemies spawn on the edge of the screen because I'm keeping a consistent rhythm to make these jumps
That said the Gameboy Color version of the game doesn't seem to have these issues
I loaded Belmont's Revenge on retroarch for a quick spell and it feels way better, I'd say even better than Metroid II but I don't have much experience with original Gameboy games
Legends feels more on the clunkier side again despite the lenient jumps
There's a reason they remade that mess. A pretty damn good one too. A shame they didn't include the tracks though, the only thing the original had going for it.
imo the castlevania games benefit from the black and white, in the GBC versions just seem like they picked colors at random for everything, too bright and colorful for a Castlevania game.
that falls short when you consider 99% of Castlevania games being in color, or are you saying you purposely put a monochromatic filter on top of them to play them?
also, to get CtA in black and white you'd have to specifically play the game on a Game Boy Pocket model
There's some Japanese ln where Simon is a dhampire kresnik from slavic mythology but the wiki doesn't really elaborate what, why or how and the chapter synopses don't go far enough to reveal anything about it either
Though I assume he'd be fighting a kudlak
Kresniks are cool, shoutouts to my main man in every SMT game he's in
Pic related
Castlevania lore is basically JoJo with hamon powers and shit. The stuff about Trevor being superhuman and cast out from society until he decided to go defeat Dracula in cv3 basically cements that.
The two franchises have existed literally as long as eachother, just because it's a franchise associated with secondaries doesn't mean that Iga didn't take inspiration from it for entries following castlevania 1 (which he did).
Sorry you're a moronic Black person, I guess. Being wilfully ignorant of facts because you're upset someone mentioned something you didn't like is peak zoomer troony behaviour by the way. Leave your onions at the door.

it is but at least they make an effort to pretend they aren't

honestly drop it and play Belmont's revenge.

CV Adventure is one of the only Castlevanias I'd say is legitimately bad.
The second Game Boy game (Belmont's Revenge) is actually kind of great though.
Did you know there's a GBC version of Castlevania the Adventure? I think it was released only in Europe or something in this collection. Or something.
Is it actually full colour or just shoved on to the GBC without bothering? Any screenshots from this version?
You be the judge.
Does look decent as far as GBC do-overs go.

I like the black and white filter because it looks like a universal monster movie
Agreed, it fits the series's roots.

yes

yeah Adventure 1 and 2 are the most mediocre Castlevania games in my opinion
What were you expecting? It’s a portable game from 1989.
There are better performing and generally good games on the gameboy bro

you JoJo troons are beyond parody at this point

Why was Christopher such a chad? He even beats his own son.
The Wii remake was godlike, leave that pile of garbage, download dolphin and get to it.
