>A fresh development titbit from Dragon Age Inquisition studio BioWare has revealed the game's ability to make your horse "sprint" was in fact just an illusion. Indeed, the game simply "added speed lines and changed the camera so it felt faster", BioWare veteran John Epler has revealed.
The game is literally designed to waste your time.
Still, sprint does seem much slower than it ought to be.
I mean, by the end, the sprint looks to have about 2-3 seconds over the canter.

No, the sprint is sluggish and should be better or at least mounts with upgraded speed. I just find the whole thing funny that the guy said this believing it was still the case when people apparently got it to work years ago without him ever knowing.
Probably explains why shit like Anthem and Andromeda happened.
>horse
Mounts barely do anything. To go fast you gotta use the shield charge and mage teleport
I think on PS3 (lmao) mounts were actual placebo because the maps couldn't be loaded faster than with the normal walking speed anyway
First, always play a mage in DA games. You're missing out in a huge way if you don't. Second, leave the first fucking area, I swear to god a third of the content in the game is in the first area.
I quite literally just beat the last DLC and I can confirm that the game maintains the same mission and quest format throughout the entire thing. I played through the entire trilogy in the pas two months and this game is by far the worst entry hands down.
Nope, I remember playing this shit and when I found out all the boring repetitive activities you did in one generic frostbite engine zone were copy pasted into the next I just dropped it
It sold more than the other DA games and somehow became the highest selling game for Bioware behind ME3, I don't get the appeal the game cause it felt like a boring ass repetitive offline MMO or some shit. I highly doubt most of the people that bought this ever finished it
The game had no appeal.
It was riding the clout of DAO and DA2.
Also, you have to remember that at this point in time the name 'Bioware' actually held weight in the minds of most gamers.
It really wasn't. Rather it was a casual friendly game filled with glistening skinned bi-sexuals that lets you play dress up with clothes you make yourself at a time when Tumblr was at its peak.
If you ignore most of this game it's tolerable. You must also get the instant loot mod. That's it game's fixed. Only do Trespasser DLC. Congratulations you finished Dragon Age the series is over now good bye.
It's not.
However DA2 is tedious, map-recycling garbage.
And to call DAI a entertaining videogame is to be a comedian.
Can't wait to add Dreadwolf to this list, assuming it ever gets out of Dev hell.
I think the gameplay and gearing is superior to DA:O and DA:2, but the game is rife with MMO content.
For me, the Dragon fights are better than all of DA:O, but I really, really hate DA:O's combat system and graphics. If you like DA:O combat than it's clearly superior to DA:I.
Jokes on you, I played Origin Sin 2 earlier in the year, currently playing DAI, and will play BG3 when I'm done. Then I'll do it all over again 2 years from now.
I've got 200+ hours in DA:I and BG:3.
The only thing DA:I has going for it over BG:3 is worldbuilding.
I can't fathom every opening that game again. The combat isn't fun until you get into advanced classes and it's like a 5-10 hour grind to get there.
>I can't fathom every opening that game again. The combat isn't fun until you get into advanced classes and it's like a 5-10 hour grind to get there.
Then it gets really fun when you can mix and match the class building with the crafting system to make builds that do outrageous shit.
I'm only playing thru it because of Dreadwolf coming out whenever, I liked Origins, never played 2 but its not like even really matters gameplay wise because its gonna be a wannabe GoW/Souls or whatever the fuck that alpha gameplay was
which 2bh I prefer over the lame MMO gameplay I guess
it's like andromeda, shit is bloated for no reason
I stilll enjoyed it, but tbh ending sucked, I skipped massive amount of side content, and spoiler alert none of the castlle upgrades matter jack fucking shit, no one attacks it
Bioware needs to learn that it's way better to make dense 30hour game with quallity quests, than this mmo like nonsense
How did you guys cope with not being able to carry over your save file directly, and instead you have to use some shitty website with an Origin account that doesn't work on pirated copies?
I don't wanna give EA money for another mediocre sequel.
Gameplay-wise?
I'd say they're roughly the same quality. Inquisition might be a little better.
Story-wise?
Inquisition is better.
Presentation-wise?
Inquisition is better by an enormous margin.
Even if you compare current ME:A with on-release DA:I.
Yes. The only thing Andromeda had going for it was the graphics, the Nomad, the Asari butts, and specific parts of the combat. The writing is terrible and all over the place, the enemy race is terrible, and the sequel baited before ensuring a good game.
Andromeda had one job and that was to have a simple and straightforward game that existed outside of the reaper mess, not introduce new ancient aliens and threats of genocide.
main appeal was clearing the zones in something that was then considered good graphics. it aged like milk. you should play the bear fucking game instead if you want real role playing.
>The maps are still beautiful
desert and that dark zone with thunderstorms are ok but other maps during daytime with trees and vegetation not so much. not saying it's ugly but it's not something young players in 2023 would find appealing enough to sink 80 hours into when there are things like witcher 3, bg3 or elden ring. hell to someone that age I would even recommend playing bg2 over inquisition, it's infinitely more enjoyable and rewarding.
Only good parts of the game are sitting on your throne and delivering inquisitor's justice to people. But there's like ~5 such occasions in the entire game
Stop doing the collecting sidequests for longer than you need to
Crestwood has a kinda nice story to it, don't remember much about the other area quests
It does later on once the Inquisition is fully set up. For gameplay, it gets fun if you play the Mage Knight.
I had to stop at the desert zone. The horse is slow af and the fights were ultra boring
The horse is 5 times faster than your move speed and you can time it to compare.
the horse itself is faster than your walk speed but the sprint is literally an illusion
It's not an illusion.
Epler is a retard.
To continue on, the guy claimed that he personally spent three days trying to do this. Apparently someone came behind him and did his job for him.
Still, sprint does seem much slower than it ought to be.

Lost Planet 2 did this too, the sprint didn't do anything except give you the animation and jostle your camera around a lot
>The horse is slow af
i never used the horse because of this and constantly having to get off every few seconds to pick shit up
>horse
Mounts barely do anything. To go fast you gotta use the shield charge and mage teleport

no
>does it ever get good?
No
I'm glad I pirated this shit and played for 30 mins before I deleted it.
I did the exact same thing. It felt like a really shitty MMO.
First, always play a mage in DA games. You're missing out in a huge way if you don't. Second, leave the first fucking area, I swear to god a third of the content in the game is in the first area.
>First, always play a mage in DA games.
Rogue has 3 of the 5 most fun specialization and you can get 2-3 good builds out of each of them.
>always play a mage in DA games
Not in this one, rogues are far and away the best class
Two handed Warrior is also pretty great.
The only people I know who like this game are girls who masturbate to the gay sex stuff
You can’t just gang fuck the wives into submission and persuade the Adam jacks to down entire tylonnal
I don't know how this shit became their best selling game in recent years
I quite literally just beat the last DLC and I can confirm that the game maintains the same mission and quest format throughout the entire thing. I played through the entire trilogy in the pas two months and this game is by far the worst entry hands down.
Play archer or mage
Feel free to use item dupe glitch to get all the perk points you want
Nope, I remember playing this shit and when I found out all the boring repetitive activities you did in one generic frostbite engine zone were copy pasted into the next I just dropped it
how the fuck are they making another one of these games after inquisition?
It sold more than the other DA games and somehow became the highest selling game for Bioware behind ME3, I don't get the appeal the game cause it felt like a boring ass repetitive offline MMO or some shit. I highly doubt most of the people that bought this ever finished it

>The game had no appeal.
The game had a ton of lore followup from the previous game and has the best combat in the series.
>It was riding the clout of DAO and DA2.
2 had no clout. DAI was developed as an apology for 2 and shit on 2 on some areas because of it.
>It was riding the clout of DAO and DA2.
It really wasn't. Rather it was a casual friendly game filled with glistening skinned bi-sexuals that lets you play dress up with clothes you make yourself at a time when Tumblr was at its peak.
they're not, Dreadwolf is straight-up vaporware at this point
>does it ever get good?
I don’t Know, try gitting Gud.
If you ignore most of this game it's tolerable. You must also get the instant loot mod. That's it game's fixed. Only do Trespasser DLC. Congratulations you finished Dragon Age the series is over now good bye.
Play as a female elf and be an elf supremacist and court Solas for maximum story development.
Play as either a dagger rogue or mage for maximum fun. Warrior is painful and archer is super boring...
Absolutely not.
By the way, can you tell that it was originally supposed to be an MMO?
>does it ever get good?
You are playing an RPG, they never do.
Dragon Age has only one good game, why are people acting like it's some grandious franchise?
Origins is boring
It's not.
However DA2 is tedious, map-recycling garbage.
And to call DAI a entertaining videogame is to be a comedian.
Can't wait to add Dreadwolf to this list, assuming it ever gets out of Dev hell.
Pretending that DA:2 is better than DA:I is weird. I can see the argument for Origins, but DA:2 is fucking awful on every level.
Definetly not the game of the century some were hyping it up to be, but still infinetly better than the other 2.
Cisquisition is the best, sorry.
I like it
i couldn't handle how the camera worked
click and drag? for what fucking purpose
It's a controller game
>playing that shit in 2023/ever when there is so much else being released
What is your fucking problem?
Yeah...unless you're a Dragon Age lorefag, there is zero reason to play DA:I over BG3.
Jokes on you, I played Origin Sin 2 earlier in the year, currently playing DAI, and will play BG3 when I'm done. Then I'll do it all over again 2 years from now.
I've got 200+ hours in DA:I and BG:3.

Oh, absolutely, but at this point I've done every build I wanted to try so there's no reason to touch it again.
Reaver mode or Templar?
Reaver is overall better, but Templar has some setups especially since Trespasser gave it some buffs.
>there is zero reason to play DA:I
.
Was never good to begin with. only Origins was worth it and would've been better if the other games followed the first game's main character
>the other games followed the first game's main character
They couldn't because of the ending.
it's like andromeda, shit is bloated for no reason
I stilll enjoyed it, but tbh ending sucked, I skipped massive amount of side content, and spoiler alert none of the castlle upgrades matter jack fucking shit, no one attacks it
Bioware needs to learn that it's way better to make dense 30hour game with quallity quests, than this mmo like nonsense
This could be the best game ever made and I still wouldn't play it after the abomination known as Dragon Age 2. Fuck Bioware.
The only good part of the game is when corypheus attacks your first base, you avalanche him, and then kino walk to the new base. thats it.
The Dragon fights are fun IMO.
That's it.
nope
How did you guys cope with not being able to carry over your save file directly, and instead you have to use some shitty website with an Origin account that doesn't work on pirated copies?
I don't wanna give EA money for another mediocre sequel.
Yes. The post-ending DLC.
is andromeda worse than inquisition?
Gameplay-wise?
I'd say they're roughly the same quality. Inquisition might be a little better.
Story-wise?
Inquisition is better.
Presentation-wise?
Inquisition is better by an enormous margin.
Even if you compare current ME:A with on-release DA:I.
I see. I bought an EA bundle with all mass effect and dragon age games 80% off. I'll probably play the mass effect games soon
Yes. The only thing Andromeda had going for it was the graphics, the Nomad, the Asari butts, and specific parts of the combat. The writing is terrible and all over the place, the enemy race is terrible, and the sequel baited before ensuring a good game.

Yes.
In every way except for gameplay maybe.
No. Andromeda is better by every METRIC.
i liked it and i did not complain about the shitty horse pre order armor back then
No, the game has 20 hours of story content stretched to 90 hours through mmo tier slop fetch quests.
main appeal was clearing the zones in something that was then considered good graphics. it aged like milk. you should play the bear fucking game instead if you want real role playing.
>in something that was then considered good graphics
The maps are still beautiful. But most character models already looked weird in 2014.
>The maps are still beautiful

Orlais buildings and their interiors too though, absolutely coom inducing.
You can make some whacky builds. Other than that the game is only playable if you get the mods that get rid of the time wasting MMO shit.
Only good parts of the game are sitting on your throne and delivering inquisitor's justice to people. But there's like ~5 such occasions in the entire game
Stop doing the collecting sidequests for longer than you need to
Crestwood has a kinda nice story to it, don't remember much about the other area quests
It's when you micro all your characters.
