Combat has improved from 2018
Puzzles don't allow you to solve them yourself as AI is constantly dropping hints
Enemy variety is better
Dialogue is bad, and too modern
Realms/Environments are better and diverse
Odin is a bad antagonist
Freya is cute and a better companion
Atreus sections SUCK ASS
Thor and Heimdall are cool
Only get to kill ONE god
Side quests are better
Most armor looks bad
Spear is fun
>Freya is cute and a better companion
I'll never forgiver this stupid studio for wasting such a prime milf like this. The theory about woke game studios making characters uglier than their IRL reference actors is true.
Overrated, didn't think you could even be more handholdy than the original games. Waaay too much talking which leads into the handholdy part of telling you and backseating your gameplay.
> Boring over the showder cinematic walking simulator. > script is TLOU2-tier bad and makes no sense > one of the writers is a cuck > gore significantly less graphic in comparison with og games > gameplay is mediocre, the only fun part is fighting dragons and berserkers (after a shit ton of hrs of boring ass main quests) > Atreus is moronic > WE WUZ VIKANGZ N SHEEEIT > Kratos is a cuck now
Last but not least:
NPCS WONT SHUT THE FRICK UP FOR 3 SECONDS
If my friend hadnt gifted this game to me for christmas I'd be going after my refund. Playing this was torture.
>If my friend hadnt gifted this game to me for christmas I'd be going after my refund. Playing this was torture.
And yet you paid for it, and kept playing it despite allegedly hating everything about it. Very sad.
Learn to read, moron.
It was a gift from a friend and he kept pushing me to play it. I reached a point where I just kept playing it to see how worse the writing could get. It is almost as bad as TLOU2.
Its the best game at making you feel amazing while doing the smallest shit possible. Perfect for sony fans. Its literally that simpsons meme where milhouse is just blown the frick away just typing in his name
Depends on what bored you.
Its more fast paced and the combat has more variety and is bigger.
(It does have some slower sections though).

Honest Gankererdict?
I enjoyed it! Just like MGS and Yakuza , its a game with a lot of cutsences and story, so expect that going in.
Great story and characters even though some of the humor didn't land for me.
The combat was a huge step from from 2018 .
(Seeing Jormugand and Thalmur and the Valkyries for the first time in 2018 was some of my favorite all time vidya moments ,but it feels less epic seeing them return .)
I think its a better game than GOW 2018 , but not as mind blowing as GOW 2018 was at the time
cons >movie game >woke beyond belief >depressed walking simulator >somehow both boring and rushed >odin looks like a hobo, not godlike at all >modern day talk
pros >very polished for a AAA title >combat is fun, when you're allowed to play
Remember all the dragons returning for the "epic" conclusion of Ragnarok that you went through a lot of trouble to free in the previous game?
Me neither. lol
slop/10
soulless garbage like this doesn't deserve a rating. Feels like a 40 hour HR conference, from braindead training-wheels gameplay to the virtue-signaling writing/direction
western culture is dying, and corporate products like this are monuments to the nihilistic celebration of its departure.
didn't live up to my hopes and expectations story wise and odin was a shit villain, the Ragnarok section was so god damn bad and rushed. not a bad game by any means but frick me going from 2018 on pc at 144hz to ps4 sequel days later was a colossal mistake
It was pretty good. The writing was meh (everyone sounded like they were from current year Cali). The plot was good for the most part, but also it felt a bit rushed towards the end and they didn't handle the whole fate aspect well. In fact, I think it's biggest failing narratively speaking is the fact that the writers are clearly people who outright reject religion and mysticism, and not even reject it, but fundamentally cannot understand it or appreciate it, and it shows.
>it's the "devs wish they could make a movie, but instead make a walking movie simulator in a game" episode
I'm thinking it's garbage. 2018 was overrated beyond belief already anyway.
There's lots of game in God of War. The game has challenge rooms and randomly generated dungeons you could do to grind for gear and try different builds and optional bosses you could hunt for more gear. You can hunt for hidden chests too.
You don't add in gamey stuff like that if you're trying to do a movie.
Its got as much story as Kingdom Hearts or any popular JRPG.
it's just a movie with a couple QTE segments
you're genuinely better off just watching it on youtube, that's all the value you're going to get out of it without spending money
there genuinely is nothing interactive about either of the 2 titles that is worth any money
Sounds like you got filtered or never played the game anon.
Try doing the 100 enemy Muspelheum challenge or the randomly generated dungeons or tackling the optional post game bosses or challenge rooms and saying none of that is "interactive".
Its a story heavy game, Just like Kingdom Hearts, Yakuza, MGS ..etc , but there's a lot of combat and puzzles and RPG stuff.
Anyone claiming it’s a movie game wouldn’t beat a single Valkyrie let alone a berserker king.
Literally basing opinion on trailers and whatever Ganker says.
my GOTY for sure, I can’t comprehend why people put ER over this.
>great combat - genuinely fun to get good at it and try out new stuff. When you get challenged it never feels cheesy. Big enemy boss fights are cool and not just hitting their legs. However some enemies like the frogmen and those tiny things are definitely overused. >each boss type feels unique and enemy variety greatly improved over 2018 >optional content feels like a part of the story and not just fetch quests with no substance >story is mostly great apart from a couple of missteps. Freya conflict resolution, Thor, finally properly bonding with the son, accepting the loss and Kratos getting what he deserves is pure kino. >Ragnarok itself is a bit fumbled and rushed but overall resolution and the fact that they baited Kratos dying is great. >I actually liked that mask was bait because the whole thing was out of place and Atheneum trusting Odin after all of that would be moronic >genuinely did not expect the Tyr thing >dialog is good apart from some cringe here and there and constant combat shoutouts. At least 80% of the banter is good, which can not be said about most other games. >handholding is a bit much, but puzzle assisting complaints are largely overblown. A lot of puzzles don’t get any hints at all. >biggest annoyance is constant praising for everything. “Nicely done” says Mimir after crates chops an innocent elf in half. >modern language complaint I also don’t really get. What do you want to see “thou arts offended me Thor, I shall proceed to dismember you now?” Original GoW games never had any pompous language, it was always casual.
Tone is a bit off sometimes tho. Especially when they chat about something sad and serious and then suddenly switch to “Nicely done” stuff.
I agree with many of the things you wrote about but because of this I don't understand how you can say it's Goty.
It's a good game but far from being the best Gow or Goty.
Well nothing else but Elden Ring comes close in 2022, and I have even more complaints about it. Most important one - I did not have fun after 20 or so hours. Last 30% of the game I was finishing out of spite, just going through the motions without any care whatsoever.
And while in GoW I had some cringe sighs here and there, some disappointments along the way - I was glued to the controller till the end and even platinumed it after.
Honestly, I loved that they had the balls to give Kratos a happy and hopeful ending. It was refreshing to see that in a time when everything is jaded and cynical.
Pros:
Sif sexy mommy tier big blonde tit boob great waifu
Great graphics (i played on PS4)
Environments are cool and a lot more varied than 2018
Combat is better and the spear is fun
Thor based
Cons:
Too much shit going on, should've been two games
I don't know much about Norse myth but Odins little town is shit and underwhelming
Dialogue is way too quippy and capeshitty
Seriously reads like a marvel film
Odin is cringe
The UI is dogshit and a lot worse than 2018 which was already bad
It was good.
Pretty good.
I want Kratos and Thor to rape me.

She looks better in the game. You have a bad taste
i'm thinking kino
Linear cutscene based movie game so just watch a playthrough if you want to experience it rather than wasting your money.
If you're into sony moviegames you'll probably like it.
Just be honest with yourself.
v liked it.

He is a good dad to his wife's son.
Atreus is his biological son tho
It was good, but the Norse Saga truly should have been a trilogy
Its the best game at making you feel amazing while doing the smallest shit possible. Perfect for sony fans. Its literally that simpsons meme where milhouse is just blown the frick away just typing in his name
If the first game bored me to death and I didn’t finish it will I like the sequel?
You will be lost in the plot if you just picked up this game, so the first game is mandatory knowledge.
Depends on what bored you.
Its more fast paced and the combat has more variety and is bigger.

Somehow worse than the 2018 one.
>Black person angrboda so didn't buy
Is this the one with the 30 minute boar carrying section?
You also spend like 20 minutes carrying a crystal too
whatever floats your boat I guess
Way worse than 2018. Bad enough that I appreciate the Greek games more now.
I'm not watching a 20 hour movie
but enough about yakuza slop
I stopped playing after and hour and switched to playing solitaire and RE3 with infinite ammo.
it sucks (´◡`)
When a game wins awards for it's NARRATIVE, voice acting, and STORYTELLING instead of it's GAMEPLAY, that should tell you all you need to know
Good but overrated. Need ability to remove the constant hints. I know most people playing this are moronic but do us a favor
cons

10 hour Marvel movie.
Remember all the dragons returning for the "epic" conclusion of Ragnarok that you went through a lot of trouble to free in the previous game?
Me neither. lol
Fun game
Back half of the story feels rushed, it needed a third game
Didn't play it, never will, that's my verdict

Graphics are ok

The berserker fights were a lot of fun but that one fight where they throw 3 at you at once is BS, took me 4 hours to beat on GMGOW
my GOTY for sure, I can’t comprehend why people put ER over this.

another over-the-shoulder walking sim with boring combat that's trying to ape the last of us
